[DEFEATED] Liberate Hanseatic League

Postby Sedgistan » Wed Jul 18, 2012 6:39 am

Image Liberate Hanseatic League
A resolution to strike down Delegate-imposed barriers to free entry in a region

Category: Liberation | Nominee (region): Hanseatic League | Proposed by: Neutricland

Description: NOTING that Hanseatic League's new delegate, The Kingdom of Mizialand took full control of the region and announced its fall,

APPALLED by the fact that The Kingdom of Mizialand password-protected the region to prevent any new nations from coming and threatened the native nations with ejection if they didn't leave,

CALLING the WA to act before the region falls so that the native nations of Hanseatic League can go back to their homeland,

HEREBY liberates Hanseatic League.

This is in the queue, and likely to be at vote in a couple of hours. The author doesn't seem to use the forums, so I'm posting this thread for the debate.

There are two natives left, one being inactive for 23 days. The Liberation is far too little too late, in my opinion. With one eminent CTE of one of the two remaining natives in the region, I will be voting AGAINST the proposal, as this is just really a waste of space in the SC halls.

The region was closed by a native and left to die. Not sure why someone with no apparent connection to the region would care so much.

He did a damn good job of campaigning, that's for sure.

I don't know the specifics so I don't know how to vote on it (if I was in the WA that is).

I would like to announce that the motivations for this proposal DO NOT seem to align with the best interests of the region, but just a rouge author who went out looking for something to write a proposal about. We should not give this author the time of day and definitly remove your support if you can, or vote agaist this proposal if it is too late. This is a feeble attmpt to become an SC author, or gain a badge, or just part of a couple of board nations with nothing better to do. For mor information please view Silly SC Proposals pages 45-46

The native who passworded the region explains why Here.

I would like to know if the author has any native support for this proposal or has even talked to one of them.

Well done, Great Destruction. After points raised by yourself and DYP, I'm sure the other major Delegates will be joining us in voting against.

Let me get this clear:

1. The founder of my ex-region ceased to exist. We had only 10 nations in the region, so we all decided to close it.

2. Then, some nations left the region. I became the WA Delegate so I decided to officialy "close" the region for which I posted a message on the Factbook; asked all remaining nations to move to a new region, which most of them have done; password-rotected the region to prevent any new nation from coming. That's all. This insane propsal will certainly not pass.

As there is no real point to this proposal other than for its author to receive a feather for his cap, the Milks Empire delegation rallies AGAINST this proposal.

Like I said, this was a couple of nations who were probably bored or just wanted to get an SC badge and went out looking for a cause. The happened upon your region and said hey, this looks like an invasion. One of them liberates the region and the other condemns you. They migh have gotten away with it too if they didnt over do it on all the proposals. They were even smart about campaigning to the delegates of small regions realizing that most are inexperienced and just want to belong to something.

Alright, I'll state my opinion on this. Raider groups are created solely FOR invasion. That's the game! That's how it works! Don't like it? Condemn it! Don't get involved, don't let your founderless region get jacked up. I heard there are few members left, therefore this bill is not telling the whole truth. This bill should be struck down for it would be pretty much hurting the game itself. Look back to an old bill passed by Security, Liberate Benevolent Capitalism. Do you know how fast that was repealed? As fast as it could be proposed. History will repeat itself, just go ahead and Condemn the Delegate and it'll be allright. End of story. Bye.

Apparently you didn't read any posts before you. The region wasn't closed by a raider group, but a long-time native.

Always nice to find someone who takes the time to ignore the posts before them and completely misunderstand both the situation and the point of liberations simply to spout some nonsense raider-bs.

Given the points raised by Skyrim Diplomacy and DYP we are of course against the proposal at this time.

Just go back and choose vote against....

This is part of the problem. Half of the WA members don't even know that there is a SC forum here to review proposals or gain information about them at vote. I know I didnt a year ago. Another third doesn't even know how to work the html page.

Plus no one does their own investigating anymore and when they do they take the first thing they find as gosple. A very small amount of background work and I had the story down pat and was already distributing it. An even better search and DYP found a thread blowing the whole story out of the water with hard evidence. It doesn't take much effort to see what you are voting on before you vote.

I find the idea of raiding annoying and it's not like it was an intentional game mechanic anyway IIRC. There needs to be a way for invaded regions to be reopened as they shouldn't be emptied of their inhabitants and left to die because a gang of griefers decided to raid it.

And I'm not sure you understand how the Security Council works; liberation resolutions are generally repealed following the native population retaking control, so that native delegates can adopt what security measures (Password protection or whatnot) as they see fit. Although I have not been part of the raiding/defending thing so I'm not entirely sure about it myself to be fair.

Please vote it down. It is a lie. The author was simply headhunting a SC badge or just being annoying.

I, Lothar Prolark, World Assembly Delegate and Vice President of Europeia will be voting NAY on this proposal for the reasons outlined by fellow ambassadors above and, really, the fact that this isn't even needed. Also we like proposals that don't have to have their discussions set up by someone else.

I thought Hanseatic League needed to be liberated because when I was looking at one of the regions that The Federal Islands had embassies with, I realized that it's embassy was closing with Hanseatic League so I went to Hanseatic League's regional page and I saw what I thought looked a lot like a raid. I saw Hanseatic League not too long ago and it had about 20 nations. I thought I might construct embassies with it sometime in the future. It turns out now that I made a mistake.
