Civil Disorder [Semi-Open MT]

Postby Jagalonia » Fri Sep 17, 2010 11:35 am

Krakow, Jagalonia, 12:00
Emperor Oslin Schneedler sat at his desk in his decorated office, surrounded by books on every wall, the cieling in the room was tinted glass, allowing for much natural light to enter the room, but not allowing undesierables to peer inside. He sat at his desk, going through some of the recent events, when suddenly, one of his commanders burst into the room, out of breath, and clearly bringing dire news.

Emperor Schneedler was almost unphased by this suddent intrusion, but was slightly irritated. "Why have you come to me now commander? You'd better have a good reason."
The commander bowed, and regained his breath "My lord, we have a full scale rebellion on our hands here! We've already lost half the country!"
Oslin looked puzzled, as this is the first time he'd heard of such a thing happening under his benevolent rule. "First, withdraw all our soldiers on foreign soil, who are the culprits?"
"Large corperations my lord, They're using hired mercinary companies, mixed with civilian supporters." The commander handed Oslin 2 folders. "Here is the dosier on each of them my lord."

HERC military solutions uses high-end technology, some if it outclasses even the imperial armies weapons, they specialize in heavy weapons, Tanks, artillery, even some experimental equipment that hasn't hit the market yet, and are not afraid to take on a challenge with direct strikes, Most of their soldiers are mercinaries, or employees of the company, they aren't very well trained, but they have firepower to make up for what they lack. Any nation that helps them would probably be able to buy their wares for a discount should they control the country.
Sample tech.

Image
Jagalonian Petrolium is a massive oil company, that has operations all over the country, obveously, they have alot of money, and hired multiple mercinary companies to guard their assets, which are mostly in the south-east of the country, but there are some in the north-east that the empire managed to keep. They use sneaky, underhanded tactics to gain an advantage, obveously, destroying the oil rigs (Displayed below) would devastate them, and force them to go bankrupt. A nation that helps them in guarding the assets though, would probably gain access to cheap oil products.
One of JP's oil rigs.

"Clearly, both of these companies are a great threat to us, and they must be removed from our nation before we are taken over" The commander continued, "if they are allowed to take the country over, that would mean the end for you and me my lord."
"Well..." Schneedler replied, "We might need foreign support for this, I'll send out a message to other nations, hopefully, they will come to our aid."
"Ahh, I almost forgot, Here's a map my lord." The commander said as he handed the emperor a map of the situation.
Provinces have been given numbers rather than names to maintain simplicity.

"Very well," The emperor replied, "I'll send out the message today."

Message: Alright, If the government can do this, so can we, We will gladly sell our advanced technology for a discount to any nation that aids us in desposing of this corrupt regime, and implimenting a new government, and paving the way for the future using advanced technology.  We also need that disgusting oil monster removed from the country, so that we may take control of their operations.  I hope to hear good things from the world leaders.

Well, Everyone seems to be jumping on this wagon, so we might as well too, any country that helps us lift the tyrany of this oppressive government, and the destruction of the technological monster, HERC, will have any military expendatures payed for by JP, and will gain access to any of our oil products for a discount.  Any help would be appreciated, as we are heavily out-teched.

OOC: I've wanted to have a rebellion in my nation for a while, but I wanted it to be large-scale, Basicaly, HERC = high-end technology, JP = Geurrillas, Empire = high dicipline.

The Global Incorporation offers its support to HERC. A contingency of land, naval and air forces from Kanotrak will be deployed to their territory to assist in the recruitment and training of its militia. Our Nation is fully prepared to supply arms, equipment and other considerations to HERC for a reasonable price.

To: The Empire of Jagalonia.
From: The Autocratic Federation of Xyliod.

The Autocratic Federation would be willing to support the The Empire of Jagalonia but it would want control of the rigs that would be left over from the defeat of Jagalonian Petrolium.

If The Empire of Jagalonia would accept this offer then the Autocratic Federation would mobilise:

ORBAT:

Ground Forces:
10 Thousand Standard Infantry.
5 Thousand M1 Abrams Tanks.
5 Thousand High Mobility Multipurpose Wheeled Vehicles.
10 Thousand Gladiator Tactical Unmanned Ground Vehicles.
2 Thousand AH-64 Apache Attack Helicopters.
5 Thousand Bell UH-1 Iroquois Helicopters.
2 Thousand CH-47-Chinooks.

Air Forces:
1 Thousand Lockheed Martin F/A-18 Hornets.
1 Thousand A-10 Thunderbolt-IIs.
5 Hundred F-22 Raptors.

Sea Forces:
1 Nimitz class aircraft carriers.
50 Wasp-class amphibious assault ships.
7 Los Angeles class submarines.
50 Arleigh Burke class destroyers.
40 Bulk Carriers.

The Federation would need access to a airport or a military base to control its military assets from.

We would like to propose a deal. The United Socialist States of Sebastianalandia will provide military advisors, staff officers, et cetera (and possibly even send an armed force to help depose the current régime) ON CONDITION THAT Jangalonian Petroleum (as offered) will pay for the expenses of these operations (including the salaries of the advisors and officers involved) AND (again, as offered) will alow Sebastianalandia discounted access to JP's oil products.
If JP refuses to comply with this, then Sebastianalandia will have no choice but to see if the Empire or HERC are more reasonable....

Regards,
The People's Commissar of War

From the desk of F. Trilby:
Trentis offers its support in favor of the Empire. Unfortunately, our army is undergoing a reformation and cannot be deployed. However, we can provide support in aerospace and with our modest aircraft fleet. Our median number of aircraft is exactly one hundred Type-15 MarK IV jetfighters (details in our factbook). All we ask in return is an alliance, we ask for nothing else because myself and the politicians of Trentis wish to preserve benevolent/sensible dictatorships all over the world.

I await your reply, regards,
Fredrick.

The jets are being set over as an expeditionary force. We will not ask compensation for any destroyed jets if the number does not exceed 40. Our satellite network and our orbital gun satellite are open for us if orders are called in via telegram. We will attempt to call in our favors from Kaitania to assist in the war effort.

----

The fleet slowly moved out of Kete Harbour and into international waters. The Nimitz Class aircraft carrier, Wasp Class amphibious assault ships and bulk carriers were in the middle of protective circle formed by the 50 Arleigh Burke class destroyers. The Los Angeles class submarines had taken up positions in a defensive pattern around the fleet.

The fleet would slowly move through international waters and would reach The Empire of Jagalonia in 24 hours. When they reached The Empire of Jagalonia they would dock at a port and unload and hopefully have control of a airport or airbase.

The Autocratic Federations military forces will need a base of operations in your country, preferably a airbase or a airport.

Please Reply ASAP.

You can land any troops right in the capitol of Krakow, there is a large airbase to the northwest of the city, you can use that to stage operations from.  We hope to see good things from your soldiers.

The Autocratic Federations military forces welcome the use of the airbase in the capital Krakow. The Federation would also like to know the locations of the oil rigs controlled by Jangaloniam Petroleum.

On board the Nimitz in the middle of the fleet the Commander of the fleet was sitting in his chair in the middle of the bridge when the Ensign walked up to him, snapped to attention and said:
"We have recieved orders that we can land our forces in the Krakow airbase. Which is to the north of their capital city."
"OK, broadcast the message to the rest of the fleet."
"Yes, Sir" The Ensign turned and walked away.

Plenum of the Revolutionary War Council

The concrete room was cold, for it was late at night. A large, round wooden table was to be found in the middle, while desks, filing cabinets, a tea machine, and several other pieces of furniture lined the walls. Most of the armchairs ringing the table were of equal size, simple and wooden; there were two slightly raised chairs at one end, while a third such chair could be seen in a corner under a cloth.

Sentries, in the field-grey uniforms of the Red Army, stood to attention as the members of the Revolutionary War Council filed in to take their seats. They were all gathered, save for the High Commissioner of the Military-Science Programme, Dr. Merkwürtigliebe, who was feeling ill. Field Marshal Vladicoff, as Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, sat at one of the raised chairs; Field Marshal Mandrake, as People's Commissar of War (in addition to his other positions as Commander-in-Chief of the Supreme High Command, Commander-in-Chief of the Army High Command, and Chief of the General Staff), sat on the other.

Now, the Revolutionary War Council is an interesting institution. As its name suggests, it was established during the Sebastianalandian Civil War to direct the Red war effort. Consisting of the heads of the high commands of the three branches (as well as the chiefs of their general staffs), the seven Field Marshals, three Grand Admirals and one Air Marshal, the supreme commanders of the five theaters, and the heads of Military Intelligence, the Military-Science Programme, and the Propaganda Departments (technically a Communist Party organization attached to the Military), it possesses an authority that can overrule any other military-related institution.

In these post-Revolutionary times, the main task of the Revolutionary War Council is to organize and plan (taking into account political as well as purely military considerations) any major campaign before the General Staff is set to work organizing the details. It is also authorized to plan and put into effect small-scale hostilities as well as unofficial military interventions (the former must be approved by the Suprem Soviet for it to legally become a declaration of war; the latter is not considered an act of war unless stated as such by a third power and/or declared as such by the Supreme Soviet). This was to be the subject of this session.

The official minutes of the meeting were subsequently classified, but the general order of proceedings was published and circulated within the higher echelons of the State and Party. The question was put forth: Should the military of Sebastianalandia become involved in the Jagalonian civil war on the side of Jagalonian Petroleum? And, if so, should they enter into unofficial hostilities with the Jagalonian state?

After about an hour of discussion, a vote was taken: the exact numbers are unknown, but the motion was passed by a slight majority. The Council then set to work drafting operational plans, a process which lasted straight through the night. At dawn, as Grand Admiral Kolchatka began to colapse from exhaustion (he was 83, after all), the details had been set:

The General Staff subdepartment for Officer Exchange Programmes would send advisors and staff officers to JP, to bring their guerilla forces up to the discipline level of the Jagalonian Imperial armies. Meanwhile, the People's Commissariat of War department for obsolescent equipement would send some of it over to JP to help arm their forces. Direct military engagement would not be attempted just yet; that would require the permission of the Council of People's Commissars.

The Colonel of the Army, stood beside his father, The Grand Leader, he was enjoying some dip, and was looking over some recent news in a folder. He commented on a growing war, between some Mercs, a oil corp, and a nation, with people joining all three sides. The Grand Leader was nodding, thinking of the possibilities.
"You see son, if we were to side with these mercs or the oil company's, we would have to share the rewards with the other nations, the nation in question needs allies, if we can get on their side, win this war for them, we will be in a dominate position, we could easily force them to hand over any supplies to us, we'd be in total control.." The Colonel of the Army nodded approvingly, he starting walking off, saying that the call would be made.

Undisclosed Ocean.
Legion General Marc Hanson sat inside the Woody 89X Heavily Armored Transport Helicopter, several other ones flying beside, they would arrive within the Capital City within a few hours, while the transport carriers with the main body of troops and land vehicles arriving a day behind them. He was looking at a map, he had improved it using his skills in Cartography, he was paying most of his attention to the oil rigs, if he could use well coordinated attacks from the air and sea, he would be able to quickly cut off the supply of oil, he starting to think about the effects on the nations economy, and decided that only 25% of the rigs would be targeted. He then started looking at provinces 8 and 9, both of them the farthest reaching points of the enemy, he decided that he would lead a ground attack from 5 and 6, and cut off the enemies advancement, while the Oil Company suffered heavy oil losses, which would hopefully run a few of their allies out. It would all be a domino effect after that, he figured. He then thought about what would happen if they failed, a loss here could ruin his career. Deciding that he would win at any cost to impress The Colonel of the Army, he called into the Board of Generals and Admirals.
The Ravens Nest, Highly secured bunker, State of Taiwan, Laosia
The Colonel of the Army sat at the end of the highly furnished table, his elegant suit with many medals showing off his combat knowledge. Nine other Generals and Admirals sat along the table, three at other locations. He took out his gavel, and placed it down, he yelled out "Let this meeting, on the day of September 17th, begin." The Generals got silent, each one looking directly at The Colonel of the Army, who stood up.

"All of you know Operation Black Gold, our plan to take over the mentioned nation, with perfect accuracy and timing. Well, Legion General Marc Hanson has requested we send in The Black November, our legendary Nuclear Submarine, encase of failure. The Submarine would be lightly armed, of course, just in case he got a bit greedy, as you know he does. Two Jackhammer Nuclear Missiles, which would be fired at the headquarters of the mercenary company, and the Oil Company. Thoughts?" He sat down, and looked around. His second in command, Admiral Wulf Gutenberg, got up and spoke.

"I approve, this move would close the fate of our operation, making it a total victory. He nodded, and sat down.

The man sitting across from him, the youngest and most unliked man on the board, Color General Jari Sun, got up, and had a scowl on his face.
"Totally stupid move, what use would we get using nuclear weapons, our numbers are high and mighty enough, we could do this without using The Black November, you should know better Wulf.." Sun sat down, and The Colonel of the Army stood up.

"For all of those that say aye, SAY AYE." a few seconds passed, and Wulf Gutenberg stood up.
"Aye!" Several other Generals got up, six all together, "AYE!" Juri Sun and another, stood up and yelled "NAY!"
The Colonel of the Army slammed his gavel down three time, and casually commented.
"So be it, The Black November will be sent, the nuclear codes will be kept to myself, if and when the time comes to use them, you can trust that I will make the right choice. Board dismissed.

Imperial Army base, Area 6, 22:00
It was a quiet night in the base, fighting with HERC continued that day, although it was on a small scale, and Captain Rossan was worried that they were going to try something, never the less, he ordered half his men to bed, and the other half to alternate watch duities that night. Then, It happened.

Multiple missiles came inbound towards the base, they were silent, and undetected. They landed, and penetrated the ground almost unnoticed, and before an alarm could be raised, they went off, sending earth, and concrete everywhere, one of the missles hit the tank bay and flipped, or even destroyed all of the tanks. Bunker Busters, Though not used for their original intent, they certainly got the point across. The base was leveled, with no survivors, 30 minutes later, HERC fast assault vehicles skimmed across the base, machine guns armed, and ready to blast any survivors, they laid down remote charges, and left. The charges went off within 30 seconds of the HERC units departing, leaving nothing but dust, and craters. Area 6 was turned into a neutral zone.

Uspecified Harbour, Sebastianalandia

Five commanders stood on the hill overlooking The rapidly re-mobilizing submarine pack. Vladicoff, the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces and Vozhd of the nation, stood pensively as his two trusted subordinates gave their instructions. Those two subordinates were Field Marshal Lionel Mandrake, whose many titles made him the second highest ranking figure in the armed forces, and grand Admiral Kolchatka Djugashvili, absolute head of the Admiralty (or "Red Navy", as he was forced to call it in public).

The other two commanders were Admiral Dyoshtevscu and General Debrekin. Debrekin was, at heart, a staff officer; he was to direct the officer exchange-programme with JP and supervise the training of the latter's forces. His officers would arrive by plane within less than a day. Dyoshtevscu, on the other hand, was a full-out commanding officer: one of the few Admirals that refused to emmulate Kolchatka's conservatism, he had served as the main commander of the Revolutionary navy in the Civil War despite his young age. He knew that success in this mission would mean promotion to Grand Admiral as soon as a slot opened up (one of three current Grand Admirals was afflicted with Alzheimer's, and was planning on retiring within the month).

The Admiral's task was simple: seize control of the oil rigs off the coast of Province Four. To achieve this, he had under his command his favourite: a full wolfpack of swift attack submarines, plus one of the Navy's two prized Typhoon-Class submarines. He had also a new prototype under his direction: a submarine designed to keep the wolfpack supplied at sea without ever surfacing. In addition, a brigade of Marine Infantry was on board, to do the seizing itself.

Vladicoff waved as the submarines set off underwater. This war could mean great stretegic and monetary benefits.... or an embarrassing waste of time and resources.

Napalm would be less efficient than nuclear weapons, but much more satisfying.

Capital City of the island
Legion General Marc Hansen walked out of the helicopter, his eyes watching his surroundings. His personal guard, The Big Boys, stood beside him, wavering their guns around, looking for a challenge. He put his hand up to calm them down, and started barking orders to get a combat H.Q set up near the Capital Building. Half a hour later, one was set up, ready for command. He sat down in his personal tent, and went over the combat map. His cold eyes looking for mistakes, he realized that Area 6, just got tore up, he clicked his tongue, he would have to start getting the rest of the provinces fortified, with the help of Jangalonia, of course. In order to make sure the countries oil supply would stay strong, he sent message for anti-aircraft guns to be built on the rigs, along with several combat ships equipped with Anti-Sub technology. He took out a pen and paper, and quickly wrote down a operation report.
Plan of Attack
For the Emperors eyes only
I plan to take back Area 6 with full force, making sure the mercs have no time to get fortified in that area, I will then, ask of you, to launch a attack on a port in area 8, while my men, in area 6 and 5, invade area 8 at the same time. We should easily take this land, I want you to also increase your alertness in region 3 and 7, if one of those are taken, the capital city is at risk.
He called for a messenger, and handed the note to him. Asking for full speed to the building.

Almost as soon as the messenger left, Emperor Oslin Schneedler appeared in the doorway of the tent, He walked up to the general, and looked him straight in the eye, giving off an aura of fear, and intimidation. When he spoke, his voice was rather raspy, and deep. "Your plan is flawed, HERC don't plan to move into area 8, they only want to use it as a buffer zone, they have UAVs over it day and night, spotting for their artillery, the area is a deadzone, They are also planning on moving north, into area 5, to take the airfiled there, I can defend it, but the moment they realize they can't take it, they'll demolish that too. I need you to move your men into area 8, and find the stationary artillery batteries. Find and destroy all of them, And don't expect light resistance either, we can offer air support, but the anti-air batteries are too much, and most of the planes we have would be destroyed by the time we get there." He paused for a moment. "By the way, Welcome to hell, Any questions?"

Laosian Forward Command Tent
Legion General Marc Hansen, surprised The Emperor would show himself in a time like this, nodded and got up. His well-built figure from years of boxing, and his sharp eyes from years of dueling. He grinned, a man like himself was not one to fear another, he spoke.
"You live in a world of cliches Emperor, but then again, don't we all. He offered his hand for a handshake, and then pointed to the map
"My plan was to lure the enemy into thinking we would attack from the recently ruined area, here, but, we can play it your way. I wanted to take that area anyways, good coast, and one of the biggest provinces on this rock. I don't need any air support Emperor, but what I do need, is you to fortify those oilrigs and areas near the JP company. I cannot stress what would happen if we lost those rigs. I will send a few armored squads to help fortify your airbases north of Area 8 then, and then lightning strike into it, my ships should be arriving in under a hour, my assistant, Major First Class Pal Murphy, will be leading this attack, is there anything else, friendo, I need to take a quick rest until the preparations are finished.

Emperor Schneedler shook the general's hand. "Don't worry about the oil rigs, we have a special surprise for anyone that tries to get near them. I must warn you though, HERC is dangerously armed, even for a well-trained, diciplined legion, You saw the reports of what happened to that base, we also sent UAV's over the site, and there was nothing but pavement and craters, The province capitol is in tact though, They don't seem to want to hurt civilians if they can help it, which is a good thing. Just...Be careful in their territory, They have alot of long-range weapons, and the area is mostly farm land, so please try to spare the infastructure if you can. If you have any requests, I'll have a logistica officer posted in this camp to set up air strikes, or artillery strikes. Just remember to use the proper beacon for each." With that, the emperor turned on his heel, and walked out, back to the imperial palace.
