Well he is refered as @father' on several occasions, so I guess male, unless he is in fact a extremely butch female. >.>

Can I assume that you're referring to the Christian god?

He's clearly male, as before he broke away from his fellow Levantine deities and set himself up as "sole god", he was the husband of Asherah.

Why would god have a gender? Much like sexuality he wouldn't have any biological features at all to indicate either way.

Depends on the religion and how you interpret it.

In Christianity, Genesis seems to point towards him being male, for the simple fact that Adam is made in his image, and Eve made from his rib to please Adam.

But, that's not a universal interpretation of it, by any means, and there are many different gods/goddesses/deities.
