The Marist Co-Operation Treaty Organization is an alliance based in the city of Marist in the north of Fort Viorlia, dedicated to helping maintain peace, stability, and the overall growth of its members. It is founded on the principles of the Treaty of Marist.

Treaty of Marist

Preamble

We, the members of this alliance, in order to fulfill the purport of this organization, hereby agree to the terms below, and, on joining, will follow and abide by its principles.

Article I

The purport of this organization shall be to establish peace and stability for its member states. The agreeing nations therefore must concur to abstain from using unnecessary force, and must only use their forces to maintain order and safety.

Article II

The agreeing nations are required to cede 2.5% of their military force if their only residence within an alliance is in this alliance—the Marist Co-Operation Treaty Organizaiton—1.75% if residing in one other, and 1.5% if residing in at least 2 other alliances.

Article III

The agreeing nations are required to possess at least 500,000 soldiers and spend at least 1% on their military.

Article IV

In a time of crisis, recession, or war in a member, the whole of the alliance must provide, to the greatest extent, the needed support.

Article V

Member nations agree that political and social ideologies that espouse hate, unfairness, or extremism (fascism, sexism, racism) is a threat to both the stability and the securing of neighboring nations, if not of an even further reach of influence, that must be stopped.

Article VI

Every member state will have a seat at the Council of Marist, where, in times needed, as well as four times a year, they will gather to discuss situations and further plans.

Article VII

Members may be either appointed by Fort Viorlia or elected by the alliance to office, granting them higher power in decisions and meetings, and also uphold the values represented herein.

[Fort Viorlia]

”Alright, then, everybody”, John Walkman, the MoFA of Fort Viorlia explained. ”I think some people might come. But not for sure.” The room had 8 opposing chairs at a table, which Walkman did not expect to all be filled. After all, the alliance had only just started.

"Well well well, it seems as though I'm a little early to the party," Eris Taan, Imsalia's rather interesting Dictator chuckles.
"So, do I just sit down here?" they inquire, gesturing to one of the eight seats.

[Kostane]

Eva Port, the fourteenth daughter of Admiral James Port lets herself into the room and sits down. "Where is everyone? I guess it's easier to convince a smaller group to go to parties... Anyways, I'm sure we have important business to discuss or something."

[Eusan Federation]

The Eusan delegate would be next- a relatively standard ARAR unit, albeit with some rainbow gradient colored thin stripes for detailing. Standing at 6 feet tall, she was well below average for a Replika- though that’s not to say she’s short. She still wore her welder’s mask from her former trade, albeit lifted up so her whole face was visible, effectively rendering it as a hat of sorts, with the Federation’s national colors adorning it. She took her seat before speaking.

“Well. It’s a pleasure to be here… my name is Irene… Replikas don’t have last names, it’s a long story… but that’s beside the point. I’m here to represent the Eusan Federation at this assembly. Also, I do believe there was a misconception that we have a democratic central government- that is not true, binding elections are only held at the lower levels of government- where most of the power over civilian affairs lies, in our system.”

“Nothing of note. Although I’m curious where this alliance stands in the ongoing ISD-CSL cold war.”

Eva Port, who has been taking notes on the meeting, suddenly receives a notification on her phone. “I’m sorry, but I have to go. Can you… send me notes on any decisions that are made while I’m gone?” She scrambled to get her stuff. “Truly sorry… incident of national importance…”

“Nothing of note. Although I’m curious where this alliance stands in the ongoing ISD-CSL cold war.”

“I’d like to side with ISD because of many of our member’s close ties to the alliance, but the CSL is more of a house-hold name and it may garner attention and potential allies.”

The Kranoc delegate, Berck Haran, arrives at the meeting having learned of The Kranoc's admission to the Alliance "Well given how this alliance's main goal is to support and establish peace, It is foolish of us to take sides. To take sides in a cold conflict like this would show that the alliance standing for peace is now political which can only hurt peace, The Kranoc feels that the MCoTO should take a neutral side in this cold war and show that we want to help moderate the cold war to prevent it from escalating to a full-blown war"

The Kranoc delegate, Berck Haran, arrives at the meeting having learned of The Kranoc's admission to the Alliance "Well given how this alliance's main goal is to support and establish peace, It is foolish of us to take sides. Turning to face Berck, Walkman replied, ‘Precisely! If this war blows up into chaos then it will just end in more bloodshed. However, what should we do if they’re fighting a proxy war? Should we send aid?’

Berck's Response: "Well yes, for peace to be fostered we must in the case of a proxy war, mediate and at as a moderated for the conflict, we should also in the case of a proxy war send humanitarian aid. In war as I am sure we all know the people are hit the hardest, we need to send food, medical supplies, and clean water so that the people can recover and stay alive the harshest times. We should also in that case send peacekeeping troops, clearly marked as being peaceful and of no foul intent, that will protect the shipments of aid and the people the aid is to go to."

Her name is Eliza Roulle. “If we are to represent our alliance through peacekeeping forces in this conflict, I think that we should vote on it. Article I of the Treaty says to use our forces only to maintain order and safety. We should be in agreement on what conflicts we see as critical to this alliances safety.

Furthermore, it is important that we not get roped into the false CSL-ISD binary. We are own alliance, and the ISD and CSL are not necessarily either friends nor enemies. But, we should never prioritize siding with any other alliance over our personal interests.”
