Welcome to Springfield (OOC, Open, Reboot)

Postby The Republic of Atria » Fri Apr 05, 2024 9:34 am

“Nearly all men can withstand adversity, if you want to test his character, give him power”

It was 1992 when the first superpowered man emerged. An unknown man who went by the name Titan. He was what everyone envisioned a superhero would be. He could fly and be anywhere on the planet in minutes and had seemingly unlimited strength. The man never showed his real face, which led to much speculation about him even being human. Titan spent almost every waking moment helping with natural disasters and similar problems.

In the coming months, the number of those who possessed powers skyrocketed, with hundreds and thousands of people waking up one day to discover they could manipulate fire, or stone, or create servants made of light and technology centuries ahead of what was capable of. For the next fifteen years powers became a bit of a novelty, while some opted to use them for illicit gains, the number of self proclaimed “heroes” grossly outnumbered the “villains.” Often it was played more like a game of cat and mouse with some moderate property damage. Overall, the public perception of superhumans was quite high.

2007. A good fifteen years after Titan’s emergence, and despite the decade and a half, he had not slowed down in the slightest. Until one fateful day in the middle of July. A new superhuman had manifested, and this one, now dubbed “Madhouse”, managed to completely seal off an entire city inside of a power-created barrier. On the outside, hundreds of heroes, Titan included, mobilized in an attempt to break the barrier and free the trapped people.

Twenty hours passed, with many heroes having used their powers until they were utterly exhausted, the only one still going was Titan, as he slammed and struck the barrier with all of his strength for the entirety of the event. Eventually, whether because of a power or Titan simply managing to break it, the barrier came down, and inside were the bodies of dozens of heroes and thousands of people lying dead. Madhouse himself managed to escape, but July 16, 2007 marked the end of the Golden Age of Superheroes.

Public opinion of their heroes dropped quickly and harshly. Within a year, the public funding to keep heroics going had dropped to a third, sales of merchandise and similar media met a similar fate. Many of them still tried, but it was clear that the public no longer truly believed in their heroes since the emergence of Madhouse.

Titan also seemed to have vanished after. Some speculated he died, others believed that the shame of being unable to help with Madhouse was enough to drive him into hiding.

Things only continued to spiral out of control as many once-heroes turned to vigilantism or simply became villains. The numbers quickly swapped until the villains and vigilantes outnumbered the heroes.

Madhouse was still at large, occasionally striking anywhere that seemed to have an upsurge in heroics, more and more villains saw opportunity to take what they wanted with few heroes to stand in their way. No place worse than the very city where Madhouse first emerged: Las Vegas. After the massacre, the local government was overrun by the surviving supers who stuck claims over land and resources.

Upon realizing that they couldn’t control the growing superhuman population, the government made the choice to let the supers have Vegas, which its new leaders renamed to Springfield presumably out of irony.

History of Springfield

In the remains of Madhouse’s wake in Las Vegas spurred new life, a new idea. The United States government had voted to declare the city uninhabitable and simply cut their losses in January of 08. As many superhuman scavengers had taken up residence and severely hampering the construction efforts even more. People evacuated by the thousands, but some saw an opportunity: A city completely free from the laws and constraints of the government?

In a twist, this attracted even more of the superhuman population to the city. Cleanup and construction started continuing as the people took it into their own hands.

The US government wasn’t entirely sure what to make of it. Localizing the vast majority of the powered population into one area would definitely curb the rampant superhuman crime that had been besieging the country since Madhouse had attacked. A large number of them had already begun to migrate, so they decided to simply make a new law: Any person caught using their powers outside of the city would have a bounty placed on their head, for anyone powered or otherwise, to collect if they did not move to Springfield. Those unable to afford a trip to the city can simply request one from their local government. Transporting is usually done a few times a month in a heavily armed, artificer tech vehicle.

Outrage was immediate, but the low population of both those with powers and powered sympathizers led to it passing almost unanimously, and went into effect at the very start of 2010.

The city had a number of issues. While the internet and power grid were repaired, none of that would matter without food. At which point a group who called themselves the Merchant’s Guild offered their services, providing not only food, but drugs, weapons, parts for artificers, and even artificer tech assuming you had the money, and or could provide them with an equally valuable service.

With most of the immediate issues solved, the next problem became law and order, which caused the most controversial faction in the city to rise: The Militia. The US government had considered the soldiers in the area all dead or otherwise compromised, so they instead tried to offer something rare in Springfield: Safety. Safety provided by order, regimented schedules, and heavily augmented soldiers with power armor and energy weapons.

Major Factions:

There are two major factions in the city, the Militia and the Merchant’s guild, a few influential gangs, and more minor gangs than you can shake a stick at.

The Militia: After Madhouse devastated the city, including wiping out most of the military, the government sent in another force in an attempt to reclaim the city from the powered squatters. Unfortunately for them, they were not prepared for the squatters to, largely, be immune to their weapons for one reason or another. Not only that, but on top of the people resisting them, they were pushed all the way back from the city to Nellis by a small army of robots. The commanding officer of the operation Liam Johnson radioed to his own commander about the harsher resistance than expected. To their horror, the government now considered them completely compromised due the cost and public perception that the government had failed and that all present were relieved of their duty. Liam quickly took charge and rather than abandon his men, managed to work out a truce with the city’s new “leader” Deus Machina. Since then, they largely assist Deus Machina in keeping the city's infrastructure operational.

The Merchant’s Guild: A group that initially started as a band of Artificers that quickly organized and made their living creating and selling technology to anyone who’d buy it, which expanded into household goods, drugs, and just about anything you could imagine. This earned them a reputation for being apathetic to the damage they indirectly caused, but many turn their opinions around when they need to buy a new hovercraft or some groceries on the cheap. They also act as a safe haven for Artificers on the run. While the smallest of the three, they are very influential as they are the ones keeping the water flowing, lights on, and internet working. Led by a man who calls himself Deus Machina, the self proclaimed “greatest mind on the planet” and unofficial new leader of the city.

The Docs: The closest group that Springfield has to being untouchable. Missing a limb or two? Got cancer? Paralyzed from the neck down? Happens all the time in Springfield, simply go to your nearest clinic and they’ll have you patched up within a few hours. While they technically work for the Merchant’s Guild, they’re quite independent of it. Due to the services being provided, no one dares lash out at them without very good cause or being insane.

Minor Factions:

Larger, more influential gangs that don’t quite reach the standards of the other three, but still a good bit stronger than most other gangs in the city

The Bank Rollers: Once a group of prominent bank robbers, they mostly hang out on the outskirts of the city, getting drunk and high while building vehicles to either race or destroy in one of their competitions. Surprisingly open to outsiders as long as you follow their “culture”. Also often host events to test their vehicles against anyone else’s.

The Ascendants: A very recent group of upstarts. Despite having been around for just under a year, they’ve racked up a considerable win streak with their extremely powerful supers. Quite small with a confirmed number of less than a dozen, though this has yet to really impede them. Their members all seem to be Altered with the exception of Kishi herself.

The Heavyweights: An unusually positive gang by most standards. A gang composed primarily of Titan class supers with a sizable number of unpowereds as well. They dedicate themselves to helping others achieve a much greater degree of physical fitness. Led by a popular power couple of a charismatic ex-congressman by the name of Noah Benjamin, and his wife Michelle Benjamin. Like most of the others, they often sell their services as personal trainers as well as the usual mercenary work.

The Seers: A collective of people who have cognitive abilities in the vein of precognition. A nomadic gang who largely keep to themselves and get by selling information about gangs to other gangs as well as alerting the higher ups in the event of a potential major threat such as a Madhouse attack, bad weather, or an unusually powerful super about to start knocking buildings over. They also run an actual radio station known as 96.8 The Eye which gives accurate weather predictions, good music, and warnings about major gang fights or other such violence

The Chimeras: Probably the second most exclusive gang in the city by virtue of being composed entirely of those who are Altered. Founded recently by a woman by the name of Eva, a woman with bleached white skin and black cow-like spots along her entire body. She created the group to ensure that there would be a refuge for Altered.

Life in the City

Springfield is a city that never has a dull day, and even attracts a sizable number of normal people due to just how much of a spectacle it can be at times. Rent and utilities are quite cheap, jobs range from simple manual labor to muscle for gangs, and all pay enough to ensure that you’ll have plenty left over for yourself.

Not that Springfield is in any way safe. Gang fights are a borderline daily occurrence as the meritocracy that the city is demands constant vigilance and effort to ensure you and your people remain on top, or at the very least not buried at the bottom.

That being said, there’s almost always something exciting going on that you can partake in for fun, profit, and immense risk of personal injury.

There’s several arenas that attempted to organize and consolidate the gang fights, to little avail, but instead attracted a large number of people from all around the city to watch, participate in, and or bet on fights. It also doubles as an execution method for those too violent and destructive to be realistically imprisoned.

Another pastime are the Twisted Wheel races held by a gang known as the Bank Rollers. Get a vehicle, doesn’t matter how, that falls into the rules for that particular race, and well, race it. As long as you’re in the vehicle, anything goes. Powers, traps and guns are all fair game.

One of the last notable events is one that is almost required for everyone to participate in: A Madhouse attack. He occasionally attacks the city, and due to the city-spanning range of his power, everyone is required to help in some way. Either by fighting or supporting those who are. As it’s one of the very few times the city is truly united, attempting to take advantage of the situation will almost definitely result in your death. Those without a proper plan or direction can consult Deus Machina for deployment.

Springfield is a hellhole. If the gangs aren't tearing the city apart, there's people trying to enact mob justice for perceived crimes, or Madhouse recently decided that he didn't like a particular group of city blocks. The "leaders" are apathetic and at best and detrimental at worst. Tensions are constantly high as almost everyone is just looking for an excuse to kill each other.

And things are only going to get worse, Deus Machina has put out a quiet request for all of those who would answer: He has a VIP incoming from outside the city. However, he caught wind that the Ascendants are planning to intercept his convoy and kidnap her. He's insistent that she cannot be allowed to fall into their hands and has promised more information and a fair chunk of change to those who answer the call.

Madhouse Attacks
Arguably the most powerful man on the planet, Madhouse has focused his ire on the people of Springfield and occasionally decides to remind everything that he is responsible for everything and he can't be stopped. He takes a sadistic pride in being utterly ruthless and ensuring that no two of his attacks play out the same way. However, the Seers have managed to somewhat consistently predict his attacks, much to his annoyance. Within 72 hours of the attack, air raid sirens will sound throughout the city. When heard, it signals a temporary ceasefire, effective immediately. All hostilities are to be put on hold for the next few days to prepare for, and then weather, the attack.

Some gangs opt to hunker down and just wait it out. Some simply try to fight him off themselves, but most tend to head to Nellis and await instructions from The General and/or Deus. The attack itself begins with a large barrier that completely surrounds, as far as anyone can tell, this barrier is completely impenetrable. Madhouse himself will emerge in a possessed body and begin resurrecting the husks of those he's killed. Most husks are little more than zombies, resembling bloodless corpses of those he's killed. Though the dangerous ones are the dead supers he's killed, as their powers remain fully intact, though they are now mindless with the bare minimum of awareness to use their powers. Generally he prefers more direct powers, but has been known to use a combination of artificers to make some nasty weapons.

The attack itself is chaotic and usually lasts about two or three days. Don't expect to get much rest or sleep during that period. At which point, either out of boredom or feeling like he accomplished whatever goal he had in mind, the barrier falls and life can return to "normalcy" after a few days.

Powers

That’s where we start. But first an explanation on the power system and the notable bad guys you’ll be fighting.

Powers are classified according to their function.

Titan: Named after the titular hero, those that have abilities relating to increased strength and endurance. They hit hard and can take a large amount of damage before being defeated. Powers that earn you a Titan rating are: Enhanced strength, durability, regeneration, personal force field, or some combination of those.

Artificer: The power to create hyper-advanced technology in a cave with a bucket of scraps. Extremely versatile, annoying when alone, terrifying when in a group. Artificers can create wonders out of junk, but more often than not, they’re specialized in a specific area. For example, one might specialize in explosives, meaning that they make bombs that can have a bunch of different effects. Or one that specializes in ice, meaning that they could create anything ice related, which could vary from ice grenades to freeze rays, to cryogenics. This is because I don’t want everyone just making Iron Man and want to foster more creativity with inventions.

Blaster: The power to attack from range. Whether you shoot lasers, molten glass, weird bombs, rocks or even just carrying a really big gun, this is you.

Quaker: No, not the weird religious people or the oatmeal, people with powers that have area of effect powers. Like an earthquake.

Shifter: The power lets you alter your physical appearance or switch to a powered form. The form itself can be anything from simply a stronger version of yourself or some kind of monstrous form.

Rogue: Powers that are stealth based, or make you harder to detect, like invisibility or retconning yourself out of people’s memories.

Master: Powers that allow you to create or control minions, be they power generated or taken from the environment

Altered: A power that has mutated you into something non-human or given you non-human features, like you now being made of stone, light or crystal, or being a large mostly humanoid multi-eyed bird lady. Unlike shifters, this is permanent.

Striker: Powers that activate upon you touching someone or something.

Speeder: Powers that enhance mobility. It’s rare that it’s the only classification, as flight is a relatively common secondary power, but the ability to teleport or create portals also qualifies.

Cognitive: Powers that make gathering information easier. Like precognition or enhanced senses.

Meta: An uncommon rating given to those who can suppress, enhance, grant or otherwise modify superhuman abilities

You’re not restricted to just one or two classes, you’ll be given them based on your powers, and as many as apply. If you’re an Artificer who made a power suit that can fly and lift trucks you’ll be an Artificer (Titan, Speeder)

Powers often come with little nuances in how they function, with no two powers being identical. They also often change over time, especially for those that truly push them to their limits. Those with harder to control powers might find it easier to do so, those with super strength might find their PR going up or healing just a bit quicker. Artificers might find that their field of expertise slightly expanded or that one finicky device they made being a bit more functional than usual. Speaking of Artificers:

A Word on Tech

Technology is much as you would find in the world today, with the exception of Artificer tech being almost alien and often centuries ahead of anything anywhere else. The strange part is that while normal people can often be trained in its use, despite the best efforts of the entire world to replicate the technology, no one has succeeded in doing so, and maintenance almost always has to be done by one as well, especially given Springfield’s intense environment.

Notable Characters

Whether you’ve been in Springfield for a week, or a year, you probably know who these people are.

Madhouse

Appearance: Varies dramatically

Powers: Quaker/Master: His powers allow him to seal off a city sized area in an invincible barrier. While the barrier is up, Madhouse can resurrect everyone he’s killed to that point, though now mindless aggressive husks, any powers they had in their previous life are still fully functional. Madhouse himself can possess any of the husks at will, greatly increasing their strength and durability. If the husk he is possessing is killed, he’ll automatically possess the nearest one, or one he chooses.

Affiliations: N/A

Notes: Often considered the most powerful man on the planet, Madhouse has burned himself into the collective consciousness of every person in Springfield. Violent, destructive, and seemingly invincible. He attacks Springfield once or twice a year, and only Springfield it seems. Killing him will reward enough money to build your own mansion made out of smaller mansions. On the moon.

Deus Machina

Appearance: Any of the robots seen around Springfield maintaining the city’s infrastructure are almost definitely him.

Powers: Artificer: Robotics. Specialized in creating automatons for certain tasks.

Affiliations: Leader of the Merchant’s Guild. Unofficial “Mayor” of Springfield

Notes: Self proclaimed leader of the city and rules with a loose hand. While many people often think they could do a better job actually controlling the city, few actually have the capacity to make sure the electricity and water stay on, and the food cheap. Knows all newcomers to the city, whether they arrived by choice or force. His base is the Hoover Dam.

Boorish

Appearance: A large humanoid boar woman. Stands at 3.6 meters and approximately 550 kilograms.

Powers: Altered Titan: Absolute strength, near invulnerability, healing factor.

Affiliations: The Ascendants

Notes: A surly woman who claims she could beat Titan to death, and with the strength to back up her claim. One of the Ascendants most notable and public members. Surly and irritable at the best of times.

Kishi Ayako/The Scarlet Queen/

Appearance: A half Japanese woman in a dark red dress.

Powers: Titan, Master, Meta: A powerful hemokinetic. Uses her blood to create powered simulacrums of either herself or the members of her gang. Rumors that she's managed to "crack the code" on powers spread shortly after The Ascendants made their first appearance during the most recent Madhouse attack and managed to spare the city the worst of it.

Affiliations: Leader of The Ascendants

Notes: Reclusive leader of The Ascendants. Quiet, near exclusively seen at city meetings and is usually just listening. The few people who have spoken to her noted that she's quite polite.

Liam Johnson/The General

Appearance: A tall, well groomed African man, usually in power armor of some kind.

Powers: N/A

Affiliations: Leader of the Militia

Notes: One of the few non-powered leaders of the city. Charismatic, friendly, a father to his men. Often takes charge during a Madhouse attack.

Eva Phyllis/Gestalt

Appearance: A taller than average Altered woman with bleached white skin and cow-like black spots all over her body.

Powers: Striker/Meta: Can “store” people she touches in a pocket dimension, gaining access to their powers. Stored people are effectively asleep, and can stay stored until they require food or water.

Affiliations: Leader of the Chimeras

Notes: The Chimeras have a high turnover rate, as many eventually join other gangs, but she is almost always accompanied by her friends Fafnir and Unkindness.

Clyde Dawson/The Arbitrator

Appearance: A humanoid Altered composed entirely of black fire.

Powers: Altered: Speeder, Shifter, Blaster, Titan: His unique physiology makes him incredibly difficult to damage by conventional means. Can shift into non-human shapes to fly. His flames cause metal to rust to dust and flesh to rot rather than behaving like normal fire.

Affiliations: High ranking member of the Bank Rollers.

Notes: Acts as an arbitrator for groups or individuals looking to hire. Despite his rather ominous appearance, is quite cordial.

Noah Benjamin/Behemoth

Appearance: A gigantic, muscular Caucasian man.

Powers: Titan: Can increase his size. Strength and durability increase exponentially the larger he grows.

Affiliations: Leader of the Heavyweights

Notes: An ex-congressman turned gang leader. Willingly resigned after his powers awakened overnight and moved to Springfield. On good terms with the Militia.

Christine Madison/Mad Madison

Appearance: An average height, attractive Caucasian blonde woman.

Powers: Cognitive: Pericognition: She can intuit things with supernatural detail and efficiency at a glance.

Affiliations: The Seers, Runs 96.8 The Eye, Springfield's most popular (and only) radio station.

Notes: Keeps to herself, Deus lets her use his drones to keep news about the city going. Good taste in music.

Ricardo Salazar/The Barber

Appearance: A well maintained Hispanic man with a mustache beard combo.

Powers: Artificer/Cognitive/Meta: Is strikingly good at identifying power niches and quirks. Can perform surgeries to tweak powers.

Affiliations: The Docs

Notes: One of the best surgeons in the city. Often tweaks more finicky powers to be less finicky. Getting worked on by him is considered an honor.

Marcy Bell

Appearance: A petite, tanned girl of mixed descent.

Powers: N/A

Affiliations: Runs the Arenas/Relatively high ranking Bank Roller

Notes: A strange resident. Known to be a huge fan of superheroes back when, now still a huge fan of powered fights and powers in general despite not having any. Has a large amount of money and is more than happy to pay people to fight for her amusement. Notable Bank Roller member.

William Shelton/Hephaestus

Appearance: A thin, almost generic looking Caucasian man with short brown hair and glasses.

Powers: Artificer: Can only create a single invention, but that invention is extraordinarily powerful.

Affiliations: N/A

Notes: An oddball of a man who, in the same month, almost single handedly ended a Madhouse attack, and then threatened to level the entirety of the Spring Mountain range because he lost a poker game before he was stopped. Petty and as dangerous as he is helpful. Has a one sided rivalry with Deus Machina.

Hot Spots

Springfield has a few hotspots where people congregate for one reason or another.

The Bazaar

The casinos at the Strip have been completely renovated to become stores selling everything from groceries to laser cannons to cars. A strict no fighting zone. Best case scenario you get the crap kicked out of you and banned, worst case you die, and still banned in case of resurrection.

Apartments

Most of the still standing hotels became apartments. Most are owned and maintained by Deus Machina, but a few of the more wealthy gangs have their own. Are all deemed no fighting zones.

Arenas

The stadiums still fulfill their purpose, though most people refer to them as the arenas. Executions are relatively rare, but are done here, often giving the accused "a warrior's death". Most entertainment is either concerts, artificers building robots/mechs/god knows what, to fight each other, and tournaments with random rules.

Nellis AFB

The home of the Militia. People leaving and entering is rare and only with pre-approval from the Militia. There are no warning shots. THose who arrive to the city under the age of 18 are usually sent here to offer families the closest thing to normalcy they're going to get.

Cesar's Palace

A town hall meets negotiation room. Some gangs opt to hash things out more peacefully. Most of the time it doesn't work and "war" happens. Other times it's used to discuss what to do in the inevitable attack of Madhouse. Another strict no fighting zone.

Goodsprings

A small town reworked to be a massive delivery warehouse for things that are too large or bulky to go through the Bazaar. Things like vehicles or large amounts of raw materials are dropped off here More or less completely controlled by the Bank Rollers. Occasionally raided by those looking to make a quick buck.

The Hoover Dam

Springfield's major dam, and, after being tinkered with by Deus Machina, the largest supplier of electricity. It's also Deus Machina's home base.

And that about does it for lore. Glad you made it this far. Lets get to the fun parts.

Name: Wyatt Campbell "Vorkath"
Age: 25
Gender: Male
Appearance: No sword
Power Classifications: Altered: Titan/Blaster/Speeder
Bio: Wyatt was born to a rather uneventful childhood in North Carolina. Parents that loved him and did a fairly good job at ensuring he was prepared for adult life. Which he was, landing a middle management job that was just good enough that he didn't have to worry too much. Well, at least until he woke up after sleeping for eighteen hours straight to find that he was now a dragon man. He panicked, not knowing what to do. Well, he knew what was going to happen, but he really didn't want to have to move to Springfield.

It was inevitable that he'd have to make the move the instant he stepped out of his apartment. Rather than make a scene about it, he found the liquor he'd stashed away for a special occasion, pulled up some stuff about Springfield on his computer and drank. It tasted foul, as most liquor did, but it made him feel a little less horrible about moving to the US's own little slice of hell. He called the police, and half-drunkedly explained the situation. The police arrived, startled at the fact that the drunken guy barely holding himself together on the phone was telling the truth about his situation.

The "good" news was that since he hadn't committed any crimes that they'd just skip the trial and began making preparations for him to be moved across the country. The police were sympathetic enough to collect some of his belongings for him, as he hadn't technically done anything wrong other than get unlucky.

He spent a few days there until the vehicle arrived a large, futuristic looking armored vehicle that would've been something out of a sci-fi movie. He made sure he had all his things and hopped aboard. There were only a few other people. It was a rather long trip, so he tried his best to make friends. Most people were in about as solemn in a mood as he was, though he did have a few nice chats with a lithe man with large fox ears.

They days went by and they arrived at their new home. A hot sandy city 80 miles from anywhere else. The group was greeted by a large, mostly humanoid robot, Deus Machina if Wyatt's reading was right. Much to his surprised, he was understanding of their plight and even offered suggestions on which major groups were looking for new recruits, with Deus telling him specifically that the Chimeras were his best bet, as they would understand his "condition" better than most. Deus was thorough in explaining that the city was dangerous, there were no police, and that everyone was expected to be able to defend themselves. He gave directions to where he suggested they all go, and they were off.

Wyatt made his way to the address he was given, keeping his head down and trying not to invite any trouble when he met the Chimeras, whose "base" looked more like a slimmed down rec center, he went inside, where the spotted woman met him and he explained his situation. He was neither the first nor was he going to be the last Altered that came to her looking for guidance. So she gave him some tips, helped him figure out his powers and gave him a place to stay until he figured out. He wasted no time in trying to find work, quickly learning that Springfield was a gigantic gig economy. He bounced from gig to gig, lifting heavy objects, being hired security, and one slightly uncomfortable job where he served as eye candy for someone with a weird fascination with Altered people. And paid him an amount of money that would've set him for life back in North Carolina.

All things considered, there were definitely worse outcomes though one little fact that loomed overhead was that he'd been there for about eight months, and Madhouse hadn't attacked. The realization hit him like a ton of bricks that he wasn't really in a group and probably should consider joining one of the larger gangs. The Heavyweights was an obvious choice. He had the build and powers for it, but wasn't sure about the gym rat lifestyle. Then again, it would give him a bit more combat experience. However, fate seemed to have a different plan, as later that day as he was mulling over possible choices, there was a tapping at his window, which was strange as he was on a higher floor, but when he checked, he didn't see anything until he opened it, and a drone decloaked. It was clearly one of Deus's designs, and it had quite the message for him. And all al he needed to do was head to the Hoover Dam in a few days.

Powers:
  • Flight: Flight via the wings on his back
  • Superhuman Condition: Wyatt's strength and durability far exceed a normal human, capping out at about 30 tons.
  • Breath Weapons: Wyatt has a selection of breath weapons with various effects.
  • Fire Breath: A flamethrower style attack, reaching at about 25 feet.
  • Poison Breath: A single, lobbed blast of a very toxic gas. The gas is capable of melting flesh and causing death within minutes within about a 10 feet diameter where it lands.
  • Force Breath: A beam of kinetic force capable of launching an average car.
  • "Atomic" Breath: His strongest attack, a devastating beam of blue energy

Limitations:
  • Breath Swapping: switching to a different breath weapons takes a moment of concentration.
  • Flying Space: Due to his wingspan, flying in enclosed spaces is all but impossible
  • Altered: He's not exactly easy to hide due to his large size and inhuman appearance

Weaknesses
  • [Atomic Breath Burnout]: Using the Atomic breath burns out both his breath weapons, and physical powers for about a minute.
  • [Cold]: Wyatt is unusually susceptible to the cold, quickly becoming lethargic if his body temperature is impacted too much.

Name: Gregory Parsons "Greg the Fox"
Age: 24
Gender: Male
Appearance (pics if possible): No green in the hair
Power Classifications: Altered Artificer: Plant specialization.
Bio: Gregory was a bit more optimistic about his arrival to Springfield than most. Before he awoke with animal ears, he was quite aimless and without purpose, often spending most of his free time getting stoned and losing days at a time to literally nothing. His powers awakening all but forced him to reevaluate his life. Which didn't mean too much, it wasn't like he was leaving a huge amount behind. But now he had power and had to fend for himself.

So logically the first thing he did try to join up with the Merchants Guild. They tended to take in Artificers, and he had a decent grasp of what he was doing. He made his start with them by growing plants of which the fruit was capable of sustaining a standard human for a single day. Not the flashiest invention, but helping Springfield become more independent when it came to food was something they were interested in, and it netted him enough starting cash that he was able to actually consider his own place.

A lot of that money was spent importing plants, supplies and equipment to get some hydroponics going. Plants took awhile to grow, and he needed to have as many ready to go for any sort of occasion. It was fun though, and it made sure his home smelled nice, with a spicy-sweet scent. Plants had quite a bit to work with, many of the were naturally sharp, poisonous, both, or smell like rotten meat. All of which were very easy to weaponize with a bit of time. However his funds quickly began to run dry, and he was forced into using some of his supplies to keep things afloat, mostly by selling recreational drugs. Weed and hallucinogens were by far the most popular, especially since they were non-addictive. There was some ire from other dealers in the area who insisted their "natural" stuff was better, but they couldn't do much as he sold out of his apartment. Even if that wasn't severely frowned upon, attacking an artificer in their workshop was always a huge risk.

There were a few attempts at intimidation, most of which ended with bad trips and burning orifices for the ones who tried. Seeing how bad things got, he decided to start making something to help detox people who were addicted to the "natural" stuff. There was the consideration of speaking to the Docs, and joining them to get their invisible protection. He could grow healing plants, and it wouldn't be too hard to learn simple stuff like stitches and pulling weird stuff out. And so he began to work towards that, however one day he found a cloaked drone waiting for him when he returned home, and almost attacked it, until it revealed that Deus Machina himself had sent to because he was looking for people for a quiet job and he made the list.
Powers:
  • Green Thumb: Gregory has innate understanding and a supernatural ability to grow and maintain unique plants. This also allows for faster, cleaner growth as well as things plants the defy typical laws for flora. Specifically his ability focuses on the concept of growth. The longer he lets something grow, the more potent and powerful it is.
  • Supernatural Hearing: His ears aren't just for show, they're quite sensitive.

Limitations :
  • Growth: While he can grow them many times faster than normal, it still takes time for things to grow to their proper size.
  • Immobile: Plants aren't known for their speed, he can really only carry the "fruits" of his labor in the field.

Weaknesses:
  • Fire: Plants tend to burn pretty quickly
  • Tools and Equipment: Like most artificers, he's pretty helpless without his stuff.
  • Sensitive Ears: Loud, sharp noises like close gunfire is hard on his ears and can cause disorientation.

Name:

Tracy Emberlynne Jace (but more often than not, goes by just "Emberlynne" or "Emberlynne Jace")

Age:

26

Gender:

Female

Appearance:

though not like a maid, she has a pink dress much like this image:

Power Classifications:

Bio:

More often than not, she will go by just "Emberlynne," not really that she hates that she's named "Tracy Emberlynne," but moreso that she just finds it clunky that she has two first names, and also, she just likes "Emberlynne" better as a name - which is why she goes by it, or just "Emberlynne Jace," which "Jace" is her surname.

Emberlynne, up until her teenage years, had lived somewhat of a "normal" life - but from then on that had changed as she had powers all along that were lying dormant inside of her ever since she was born. Only though, those powers had "kicked in," in/around her teenage years - and when they had kicked in, they - starting with her technokinesis - would transform her, causing her to lose essentially her humanity as she doesn't resemble a human anymore. She, yes, still has emotions thoughts and feelings - but she is more of a piece of technology or machinery than anything else.

It was first her technokinesis (which had transformed her) then afterwards and from her technokinesis, audiokinesis. Emberlynne has no true preference over her Audiokinesis or her Technokinesis, she doesn't really favor one power over the other - but she remembers that when she just was playing around with her powers, that she had audiokinesis and that she could shoot her sound out. She, then, really had liked futzing around with her audiokinesis - but as said, she doesn't really prefer it over her technokinesis; she is just somewhat of a mischievious and playful sort, usually the type to mess around with things and learn how something works by, tooling around, playing with it, acting a fool with it.

Which, it was indeed the same with her technokinesis; when she realized she was mechanical - when she'd looked at her arms and realized they were metallic, when she'd touched her hair - which, yes, was still there albeit its appearance had changed to suit her powers - she'd started playing around with her hair, flexing it and using it essentially like how an elephant would use its trunk - grabbing things and tossing them around.

As she can be quite mischievous, it means that she is somewhat chaotic - that when she'd noticed her abilities, she didn't exactly have the "lightbulb in her head" that, in or around the time, she had to decide how she was going to conduct herself - if she was going to freak out over being mechanical and try to hide and not really use her powers often, or...

No. - the first thought around the time she had noticed her powers, was, mostly how could she play around with them and make herself laugh with them? How could she have fun or be silly with them? - so that's what she was doing, or she played around with the fact that she was technology and that she was technokinetic to change the way her feet had looked, making them look like any shoe that'd came to mind though also getting herself used to the fact that, as she essentially is metal, she is interchangable.

She can be interchangable, but she is not useless. And she didn't get sad or worry about that, even when she'd noticed it. She had just carried on, as normally, even if her appearance had changed fundamentally. She still tried to finish her schooling. She still tried to be a "normal teenage girl," albeit - she was just very playful and mischievous, and now that her powers had "came in," she couldn't help herself but to take advantage and joke around with them most the time.

As said, she is a troublemaker personality-wise, and even though this is/was the case - she was somewhat practicing self-control and restraint. She knew that she had to finish her schooling, even if she didn't pass for human anymore - and that was what she'd did despite her mechanical form albeit in some ways still after that, it was tricky as her chaotic nature would've caused her to rub against alot of people she didn't have chemistry with, per se - she could've gotten in trouble, she had moments where she was literally on the edge of getting in trouble in/around school - but she'd still worked on finishing her schooling and "just being normal" despite all that.

After all that -

Emberlynne didn't really expect things to go the wrong way. She just enjoyed her powers and playing with them, but even then - she'd focused on her education and finishing it, which had happened - but even there, she had some problems such as emotionally -

All of a sudden, some of her friends stopped seeing her as her, and started treating her like a robot and cracking jokes at her expense - which had intensely annoyed her as she'd felt betrayed. Then, she was thinking of using her powers on them - but had held back despite the moments where she had the possibility to.

She had made alot of friends before she'd gotten around her teenage years - due to her playful and oft-jokey personality that she doesn't take much serious. This had worked against her after her powers had manifested, as then she had to deal with people she'd knew deeply switching on a whim and treating her not even like a stranger but like a piece of property.

Though some of her friends had betrayed her and all that, she didn't give up or become less of the person she is/was. Emberlynnes' confidence stayed the same albeit she was slightly more reactive and waiting for a fight or a moment to hurt someone - which she'd noticed and had to restrain herself from doing even though she knew why she'd felt like that. It was betrayal and abuse, people who'd she'd thought she was close friends with now acting antagonistic against her or objectifying her, forgetting she has emotions too.

After graduation and getting her schooling out of the way, she was conflicted - as she wanted to go to college but also didn't feel right about it for multiple reasons including being harassed and mocked all the time. Though, she wasn't the type to jump into crimefighting or things of that sort either. She spent more time trying to figure out what she'd do after-graduation. And she found herself getting more annoyed - not with herself no, she was fine with herself anyways - but with the people around her.

That and her chaotic personality, that she oft-almost gotten into trouble, this had caused her to not really want to be around people anymore - which was trauma-based and not really that she was one to be introverted. So, she'd hid around and laid low. And even though she still had some friends with her that'd understood and empathized with her - she really was "once bitten; twice shy," and cut off contact with EVERYONE.

So, she'd stopped being around people. She'd intentionally had avoided people and talking, rather choosing to be with herself and play around with her powers in peace than to have someone always mocking and denigrating her for who she was. She couldn't help that her body had changed - and even then, that didn't make her self-conscious as she wasn't really all that self-conscious of a person beforehand. She'd looked more for places where she could be alone and at peace - or atleast be around people like her who'd have some understanding of who she was atleast at some level. She'd oft-thought about, just wanting to be with others who had her powers or who had a similar story to her, people who she could tell she'd fit with because she had technokinesis - really, she wanted a closed-off community of other technokinetics.

Parts and pieces of herself (no pun intended) though really deep down were not avoidant. She simultaneously liked being around people and didn't only want to just be around people similar to her with powers kinda like hers.

And that was the problem too -

as she heard more and more about the disenfranchisement of people who just-so-happened to have superpowers. It'd angered her, but also made her slightly not want to be around people anymore - though as she is chaotic, out of spite, she naturally was against the way people who had superpowers were treated. And not just that, but against isolating herself and not talking to anyone.

She felt herself wanting to fight back and lash out more and more. She felt herself more angry and vengeful and wanting some form of justice or retribution. She'd felt wronged, slighted all the time and wanted to do something against it

- which she did. She'd lashed out, and as she was the type to be playful, as previously how she'd played around with her powers alot - she lashed out in the form of audio attacks with her audiokinesis. She lashed out, as she wanted to see the destruction. Already she was a destructive, chaotic sort - but now she wanted to see glass shatter and things fall apart to her soundwaves.

She got all eyes on her again - but for the wrong reasons because of her lashing out.

But even then, she wasn't going to just sit there and take it.

She was going to fight or find some way around it, even if she had infamy and a rather negative spotlight on her now - and fight, she had. She'd made it her mission, nay, her responsibility to resist - even if she'd known by fighting she'd just be making a bigger target on herself every time - but she didn't feel it morally just to "sit down and take it" or to deal with all the abuse she'd dealt with and deal with the fact people like her were disenfranchised and not really respected.

She'd fought, though yes - had gotten caught, and she was indeed damaged after her fight - but her fight had forced her still into going into a place she didn't want to go, into being banished into the former-city of Las Vegas which was now "Springfield," which she'd found ironic as she'd grown up watching a cartoon show with characters that'd took place in a town of the same exact name. And even though she'd found it ironic - she'd deeply hated it, and because of her chaotic nature, because of her radicalization, she still didn't lay low - she became more and more frantic and lashing out, though at the same time cautious of anyone like Boorish or The General - everyone else there seemed to have some fear of those people. She, yes, in a way did too - but at the same time, it wasn't really fear but hatred as she'd felt trapped in effectively what was prison, with wardens in everything but name.

She hated them. She'd hated not only people like Boorish but everyone else there. She hated the idea of being exiled to a place such as Springfield. She'd hated how her people were treated, just because they'd had powers - and even with Boorish et al, she'd hated them not only because she'd seen them as prison wardens but also because they, to her, were jerks. Her chaotic personality and nature had meant that, most of the people she'd met, she'd ended up not really liking or getting along with - and that continued even into Emberlynnes' being in Springfield.

And still, she didn't like being there. As she was a very playful and unserious person, she didn't like lying low or having rules and restrictions put on her. She didn't like even feeling like that. She'd liked to play around and flex her powers like they were another muscle - she hated trying to act like they weren't there, or that she had to "be wary" of some people - as that wasn't like her. She was never the cautious or paranoid type.

Powers:
  • Technokinesis: https://powerlisting.fandom.com/wiki/Technology_Manipulation - her power "is technology," though at the limit that she has effectively lost her humanity. Her body is mechanical/technological now, which is more-or-less a side-effect of her being Technokinetic or able to control technology and as her body is technology - this means she can manipulate it (like a form of shapeshifting) into various things like a cannon, claw, blade etc.
  • Audiokinesis: https://powerlisting.fandom.com/wiki/Sound_Manipulation?so=search - She can project soundwaves (blast/fire/cast/shoot out), and control the volume of the sound that's being projected from herself/her body.

Limitations:
  • The effective loss of her humanity - she doesn't have a body of skin and bone anymore, rather having a mechanical or robotic body composed of metal, wires, etc
  • Her audiokinesis isn't instantaneous (i.e working as soon as she'd want it to or instantly), she has to open up speakers/parts of herself in order to use it.

Her audiokinesis is linked to her technokinesis, meaning that as she has the power to control and manipulate tech - that she is, or had became "a piece of tech" herself, when her power had kicked in (as she wasn't always like this, or at-birth), she was firstly technokinetic but as a result of her technokinesis she then became audiokinetic. She has to open up a part of herself, or the mechanical composition of her body which speakers'd most-likely be located in, to be able to use her audiokinesis - to shoot out sound or cast soundwaves, she cannot just do it. She has to open herself up/the speakers inside of her mechanical composition up firstly before she can use her audiokinesis to shoot out sound/cast soundwaves - the projection of sound as a weapon or tool.

Her being an audiokinetic isn't independent of her being a technokinetic, as she'd had the technokinesis first and as a result of it, the audiokinesis. Her audiokinesis is therefore reliant on her technokinesis since it was spurred on, by it, beforehand. Though, as she'd had technokinesis firstly - she can still manipulate technology without audiokinesis being involved whatsoever.

Also, she cannot do her audiokinesis onto just any sound or noise; it only works on noise/sound created via her/her body, meaning that she cannot use soundwaves from elsewhere to attack and destroy things - she has to create and utilize her own sound if/when she's wanting to project it or adjust its volume.

This means that, since her audiokinesis is a byproduct of her technokinesis that was dormant inside her - that she cannot shape it into weaponry as she can with her technokinesis; as she can use her powers to make or shape things into weapons or shape her own limbs and other parts of herself into things, she cannot do that but in the place of Audio (or sound or noise), only she can turn tech into things. It doesn't work to where she can shape or turn audio into things as, her audiokinesis is a byproduct of her technokinesis. It isn't an independent ability. It came from her firstly being technokinetic. She has to open herself up in order to utilize her audiokinesis, it isn't a thing that'd work on its own. Her technokinesis is, yes, more of an "at a whim" thing - but her audiokinesis is a thing where she has to "prepare it" by opening herself up, opening her technical or mechanical structure up, then she can create soundwaves and shoot them or use them to destroy things.

Weaknesses:
  • Bulks: Like most technology and machinery, she is fragile and prone to breakage although seeming dense - but with the enough strength/force/pressure, can easily be broken apart.
  • Erosion: Susceptible to rusting (well, she herself doesn't rust, but if there is a rust agent - something that causes rust - she isn't protected against that breaking her metallic "skin" or systems) or breaking down when she is shocked.

Dislikes:
  • obviously - being treated like a machine. Just because she is tech doesn't mean she still doesn't have emotions and feelings!
Favorite food:

  • microchips PB&J (peanut butter and jelly sandwiches) - She's always liked PB&J, her being mechanical didn't change that, and even then - it was (and still is) her comfortfood. She'd always liked a nice PB&J, with or without crusts, since childhood!
Greatest fear:
  • Aquaphobia - even before her powers kicked in and she "became tech," she'd always had a fear of water.

I've done that, because I remember the lasttime I made a char here and it was in Developmental Hell - it was alot easier to have the classification/detail of that power than me trying to describe it like I'd think I'd done last time w/ my three chars.

Then, in that time, I'd gotten so frustrated because I was trying to come up with weaknesses et al for her, or certain details that'd bugged me that'd seemed to not be able to work (like that character not exactly shunning killing criminals) -

I was trying to adapt and overcome to past/previous problems, so that's why I'd linked elsewheres.

Understandable, but the issues from last time were less about the powers and more about miscommunication. Anyways, so she has the ability to manipulate her own bodily tech to create sound weaponry?

I had a thought that her audiokinesis is directly linked to her technokinesis - she can manipulate soundwaves et al because she is technokinetic, but the way she does so is is that it's not like she can just use it, she has to open up a part of herself to open up the soundwaves or, something like speakers inside of her since she essentially is technology.

Firstly was her being technokinetic which had the effect of making her lose her humanity when her power had kicked in - then after or, as a result of her being technokinetic, she then became audiokinetic. The technokinesis came before her audiokinesis and so, it's kinda where one isn't independent of the other (her audiokinesis isn't independent of her technokinesis, and she has to actively manipulate herself, open herself up - her technical composition to be able to cast/shoot sound)

Name: Lucia DuRose/ Zone
Age: 22
Gender: F
Appearance (pics if possible): https://imgur.com/gallery/BaWlNkF
Power Classifications: Artificer, Speeder
Bio: Once upon a time there was a young girl who was mediocre in every sense of the word. She got average grades, was average at sports, and had an average family in the most average suburb of the most average state (yes I'm talking about Ohio). All that changed when one day, when messing around with friends toy drone, she had a eureka moment. She flipped a few switches, added a few more, tore it all apart, put it together again, compacted it, and split it in two and suddenly... She somehow made a portal.

Now typically, this is where someone would be sent to Springfield, but Lucia's friend thought they could make money off this if they kept it on the down low. Lucia was all for it, as anything was better than being sent to Springfield. Thus, they formed a delivery business!

Her friend went out and delivered goodies while Lucia sat in her room like always and just commanded the drones. Business was, in a word, underwhelming. They couldn't make any claims of under 5 minutes or less anywhere in the city. They'd be caught! So they tried to make due by being another average delivery crew. Lucia was happy. She never had to leave her room, she made money without having to get a job, and she could contribute to society from within the safe confines of seclusion.

The friend however was unhappy. They wanted profit. They wanted excitement. They wanted more. Obviously the portals had to be known to make money... Right???

Well, that was their rationale. They told Lucia to draw up their design, just for kicks and giggles, and sent it to try and get a patent. This, predictably, went horribly wrong. Not 3 days later government officials were banging on their shared apartment. Of course, the friend panicked and immediately outed Lucia, sending her packing.

Lucia cut all ties with her average friend from her average town and begrudgingly opened up shop in Springfield, Nevada. Business has been going on for about a month now and it's actually okay. There's just one problem. Two, if you count the sweltering heat. Lucia, for the first time in her life, is tired of being the average girl from the average town with an average life. Springfield had changed her, maybe even for the better. She wants more.

Powers:
  • [Drones and portals]: Simply put, she can make drones that look like your basic house fly. They are paired, so at least 2 will be out and no more than 8, only in Even Numbers. Lucia can see through these drones, here through them, and even talk through them if she so desires. They can create portals up to the size of a car, with the locations being wherever the two paired drones are. She can also just make normal drones of various size, but they aren't particularly impressive (really just drones with cameras or ones that can lift packages.)
TLDR: Tiny drones that make portals.

Limitations:
  • Drone Max 8 drones max out at once. She can't concentrate on any more.
  • Support Class: Not only is Lucia weak, she doesn't know how to fight. At all. She has a bat to hit people with but it at most is an annoyance and deterrent.
  • Range: 10 miles. She can't get a drone being that. On top of that, anything that cuts off outside communication with her drones (say, if one of them were outside Madhouse's barrier), the drones would just irreparably fall apart.

Weaknesses:
  • [Wimp]: She is physically very weak. A 12 year old boy could beat her in a fight, and her endurance isn't the greatest either.

Name: Stephanie Menali/Fickle
Age: 23
Gender: N/A (Remains of consciousness are female)
Appearance: [1] (Fickle’s human form of “Stephanie”); [2], [3] (Examples of Fickle in her Stateshift form)
Power Classifications: Altered: Titan/Shifter, Cognitive, Meta
Bio: Stephanie Menali is dead. Gone, erased. Only Fickle remains— an alien consciousness piloting what once was a human body, struggling to figure out its own existence in a world it doesn’t understand.

Stephanie was born in Carson City to a middle-class family. Her parents were default followers of the status quo, and primed her with all the tools she’d need to lead a pleasant, stagnant, unexceptional life. She got a major in business at the University of Nevada— about the only field in which she truly excelled. But her dream was always to accomplish something more. So, she broke away from her life in the suburbs; moved further southeast, decided she would make it big, do something with her life despite the odds.

She failed.

And so, Stephanie got a job as an accountant in Boulder City. But she never gave up— she may have been trapped in the mire, she may have been an uninspiring person trapped in a dead-end job; her dreams and aspirations might’ve been dying… but they weren’t dead. Not completely. She was going to make her name, somehow. She was going to make rent every week. She was going to move up, see the world, she was going to do something, anything, to make people know her name.

She thought she got her wish when the Ascended came calling. They approached her, said they could give her exactly what she wanted: they said she had potential, and all they wanted in exchange for granting the power of a demigod— for allowing her to attain the fame she craved so dearly— was for her to travel with them back to Springfield and join their group. Stephanie wasn’t stupid, but she was naive, and quite desperate. It sounded to her like a dire existence… but given her current state, she failed to see any other options. Plus, powers had always sounded cool to her. Kinda.

The process was strange. They took some of her blood, and following a set of instructions she couldn’t wrap her head around, altered it in some way before injecting it back into her body. She felt… weird. It wasn’t doing anything, why wasn’t it—

And then, Stephanie Melani ceased to exist.

Though she wasn’t around long enough to be consciously aware of it, Stephanie would strike gold with her manifested powers, tapping into what was perhaps their most primal and directly powerful form: the ability to control the information transmitted between her atoms. Unfortunately, the numerous (and ordinarily impossible) mental connections required to adequately use said powers required them to fully restructure most of her mind: in less than a second, her mind was mutilated beyond reckoning— it began to be reconstructed, reprogrammed into something different. The mental shock of this process caused Stephanie to become completely insensate as her powers took hold, her body appearing to ‘melt’ into a silty, silvery quasifluidic mass.

The members of the Ascendants attending to her didn’t exactly know what to do, at first. They eventually decided to sort of scoop her remains into a bucket and take her back to Springfield; maybe she needed time to reform, or perhaps they could have one of their leaders take a look. Even a few days later, however, their latest member to-be remained a lifeless puddle— so they decided to indiscreetly pour her down a manhole. Reporting back to their bosses, that would hopefully be the end of it. It wasn’t: in the sewers of Springfield, something finally awoke in the proverbial driver’s seat of Stephanie’s body hours later.

It wasn’t necessarily an immoral monster— sure, it was a consciousness so alien it couldn’t be reasonably called human anymore, but more than anything, it was confused. Bodily temperatures were far below average, limb articulation was substandard, olfactory registration was… unacceptable; but this wasn’t what confused it: it knew it was previously someone else, but not who that host was. It felt… fear? Pain? Ego death? Substantially. Or at least, remnants, echoes of what had been. Peculiar. It was also very wet. Ambient levels of methane and ammonia would be lethal to mundane physiology, so it remained shifted.

Eventually, she would wind up in the city’s water system from the sewers. As luck would have it, Deus Machina himself took notice of the silty mass being flushed through the pipes, and dredged her body out; he was just about ready to have a conniption over people using their powers on the city’s utilities… only for him to notice that the mass was trying to reform itself into something vaguely humanoid. Recognizing her as some kind of superhuman, and unable to communicate with her due to what sounded like severe brain damage, his drones took her to Ricardo to heal. The leader of the Docs helped her recover certain things her powers had stripped from her: the ability to understand language, for one, along with the barest fragments of memory and personality. She learned where she was, reestablished a conscious identity and began to formulate a greater purpose for herself.

Eventually, the thing that had been Stephanie Menali would prove herself (itself?) fit to join the rest of Springfield, and took on the name Fickle for reasons unknown. Both Deus and Ricardo keep an eye on her still, and she sometimes stops by the clinic of the latter— seemingly recognizing it as a “safe zone” of sorts. Fickle in the modern day is an enigma; she fails to comprehend much of the world around her, but seems to know plenty of things she absolutely shouldn’t, and remains a total wild card in the city’s superpowered landscape.

Powers:
  • [Stateshift]: Fickle’s primary ability is known as Stateshift— she can turn parts of herself into a substance that kind of resembles a non-Newtonian fluid, but is somehow both siltier and more solid at the same time; while she can choose to turn only select parts of herself into this substance, she can also just as easily assume the form of a silvery blob. Though it’s easily the least notable of her myriad powers, the very act of entering this form confers a minor capacity to shapeshift when she reverts back— she can't exactly become a perfect imitation of someone else, but she can stretch and grow in ways while changing back that an onlooker might think “huh, Fickle is a 5’ 4’ woman, so obviously that 6’ 6’ dude with a weird face isn't her”. While in her Stateshift form, she's generally kind of melty, yet solid; it's still possible to harm her (and she doesn't get any kind of super-strength), it's just that things like lopping one of her arms off or shooting her with a shotgun aren't as big a deal to her bizarre physiology. Generally, Stateshift has a whole bunch of applications, but three uses in particular stand out:
    • Fickle can shift to become a bit goopier than her base Stateshift form usually is, which allows her to flow through gaps that should be way too small, or to suddenly diffuse herself from one side of a room to another. While she’s in this specific state, every time she moves more than a few feet, she instinctively leaves behind a simple “clone” made out of her, uh, goop, which kind of works like a really tiny, really stupid imitation of herself (if she's fighting someone, the mini-clone would run up and try to bite them).
    • Fickle can also harden parts of herself, which, after a short delay, are violently ejected from the rest of her body. This isn't the most dangerous power, as it basically amounts to slinging fastballs around… but since she can do stuff like shoot hardened spikes at people (among other things), it has its uses. Her hardened Stateshift bits re-soften after hitting something and start to flow back towards her main body— meaning that even if you dodge a spike, you might still get gooped.
    • Whether or not Fickle’s goopy or hardened, if she's in her Stateshift form, she interacts weirdly with powers. Most notably, outright “harmful” powers just straight-up don't work on her as well as they should— she's inherently resistant to a Blaster's lasers, or a Titan’s punches, etcetera. This effect is known to apply universally to powers as a whole (including indirect mediums such as a Master’s minions or an Artificer’s tech), but is completely ineffective against mundane sources of harm. As well, Fickle is known to “absorb” powers that interact with her in any form, imprinting a portion of their energy and a basic idea of their effect into her very Stateshift physiology; in that regard, there’s three separate ways that she can consciously choose to utilize an “absorbed” power:
      • Fickle can actively choose to “consume” a power she’s absorbed, taking on physical characteristics evocative of it— if she’s struck by a Blaster throwing lasers around nearby, she could develop laser hair, for example. There’s no limit to the amount of physical features she can develop in this manner.
      • Fickle can alternatively “clone” a power she’s absorbed— she can't combine this with her other options, but she basically spits out a chunk of stuff that emits a much weaker version of the power in question. For example, if someone scans the environment near Fickle with a Cognitive power and catches her in it, she could then spit out an “eye” that feeds information to her. These chunks of stuff basically seem to count as inanimate equipment, though only usable by Fickle (and her tiny, stupid clones).
      • Fickle’s third option is to “copy” a power she’s absorbed, yoinking an exact duplicate of how another superhuman just used their ability on her and applying it through physical touch. If she copied a laser beam from the laser-firing Blaster mentioned earlier instead of consuming it, she'd gain the one-time ability to shoot a laser directly into something that she's touching.
  • [Power Sense]: While Fickle can only “absorb” powers while in her Stateshift form, she has a secondary power— aptly termed Power Sense— which is constantly active regardless of her current physiology. It gives her an innate understanding of what the effects of any powers that she witnesses are; she doesn’t really get any insights into superhumans or even powers, but rather the outcomes of power usage. If she saw the laser Blaster from before in action, she wouldn't get “can generate beams of infrared/kinetic energy from their hands” or “a thermokinesis power applied to manifest lines of heat/force”, but rather something like “a beam of energy that inflicts both thermal and kinetic damage on whatever it hits”. This is made considerably more effective by the fact that her power just straight-up cheats with what it counts as her “witnessing” a power: if a Cognitive on the other side of the world scanned an area she was in, she'd get a ping of “remote viewing of a city block that gives hazy images of the last ten minutes”, or if a Rogue tried to sneak up on her, she'd inherently know that there's “an anti-reflective effect that mutes light and sound” as soon as her gaze passes over their location.

Limitations:
  • In order for Fickle to retain a physical feature from a power she’s “consumed”, the source of the power (I.E. the originating superhuman) must remain within an ill-defined area that’s decently close to her. If either they or Fickleleave the area, the characteristic quickly dissipates.
  • Maintaining the quasi-equipment made from “cloning” a power requires that Fickle continuously feed each object further charges of the superhuman’s power which spawned it. Otherwise, it decays back into the same substance as the rest of Fickle’s mass.
  • The only way for Fickle to expend a power she’s “copied” is through physical touch. There are absolutely no exceptions to this.

Weaknesses:
  • [Mundane Vulnerability]: Fickle adapts to powers: she resists them, copies them, integrates them, understands more about them than she should. She is completely vulnerable to mundane sources of harm, however— her ability to unilaterally reduce damage from incoming sources only applies to powers, albeit powers in their entirety; hitting her with a normal car does more damage to her overall than being struck by mach speed Mover or an Artificer-created mech. Of course, her strange biology does afford her some manner of inherent physical fortitude, but it can only get her so far (and pales in comparison to most other defensive powers).
  • [Powers, Not People]: The mutilation of Fickle’s mind means that she completely and utterly lacks anything resembling human mentality. Though she retains the capacity to feel emotion, her near-alien cognizance fails to understand the significance of things that are brazenly obvious to others (wearing clothes for reasons other than temperature regulation, the importance of obeying unspoken rules, etc), and seemingly has no ability to feel sympathy or empathy for others; currently, her morality is based around on how useful others are to her goals in both the short-term and long-term. This in combination with Power Sense means that Fickle tends to see powered individuals as just their powers; this can have disastrous results, and Fickle’s inability to care about most of it makes it even worse. It’s something she’s working on.

WIP

Name: Zara Jo Ripley | Brawler
Age: 25
Gender: Female
Appearance: Here.
Power Classifications: [bad bitch alert]
Bio:
Zara knew she was gifted from birth.

At least that's what her mother told her since she couldn't possibly remember that far back. Zara was always close to her mom and felt their special connection deeply - Zara figuring that she had developed her powers in utero and her constant contact with her mom strengthened their bond to absurd levels. Zara's mom was a teacher, who worked in and out of different schools and positions to help troubled children - her name was Mae. Her father was stern and domineering, but loved and cherished his daughter deeply, spoiling her while being hard on her at the same time. He was a fitness trainer and amateur kickboxer, affording him some local notoriety and enough income to support his small family, but this in turn fostered his daughters' love of combat sports. He was named Kline.

Zara gained her fathers' affinity for physical activity and fighting, while also gaining her mothers' analytical and problem-solving mind. She was very gifted without her powers, yet, her mother was very clear: Do not tell her father about her powers. Kline was extremely anti-super, and despised heroes, villains, and anyone with powers. He'd go on rants and triads about meta-mutant fucks disrupting the natural order and making everyone else careless and weak by default. He'd blame his difficulties at work and finding clients or jobs on supers, and adored watching supers 'get what's coming to them' when a particularly gruesome fight would air on television. All this hatred and anger directed at metahumans for all to bear in front of his family, in front of his own superpowered daughter, who grew to resent herself as her powers manifested further through her childhood.

She was seven when the golden age of superheroes came crashing down. She distinctly remembers crying as she watched the news unfold and the damage being revealed. Far too young to actually understand, her father had the whole family sit and watch the constant information stream as he paraded around the living room, declaring "See! See! These supers can't do a damn thing to help anyone! Anyone!" He seemed almost excited that thousands had perished, and his views were echoed by others in the aftermath. He kept his hardline stance and found support online and in his community - anyone who was a metahuman was now less than human in his eyes. Zara hid her powers and felt ashamed, she had dreams of being a heroine at an early age, but the sheer brutality and senseless death shattered those dreams, with her father's words echoing deep in her psyche for years to come.

Growing up as all people do, Zara became a rebellious and angry teenager due to her own self-esteem and internal conflict. These issues coupled with teenage hormones would lead to constant bickering and arguing with her father and mother. She would advance and expand her kickboxing and martial arts abilities but refuse to enter actual tournaments and any competition outside of sparring. Her father choked it up to being afraid of being actually tested and pressed on her ability, but her mother knew it was because her power would be revealed in any competition testing, so opted to quietly keep to Zara's side. Things would reach a fever pitch the summer Zara turned fifteen, however, as she had met a boy who secretly revealed his own power to her. He had the ability to induce sparks with his finger tips, not enough to be lethal, but enough to be a little less than a taser or party trick. It was young love and Zara revealed her own powers to him, and awed the youngster at her ability.

He encouraged her to be a superheroine like the old days. He still looked up to the heroes he had when he was a kid, his support never wavering for them. He didn't want to move to Springfield so kept his powers under wraps, but he felt that Zara really could make a difference if she tried. He was a dreamy black haired boy named Travis, and he broke her heart a few weeks later.

Powers:
  • [Tactile Telekinesis]: The power Brawler was blessed with at birth, it proved to be a curse that tore her family apart. She's able to mentally manipulate any physical matter she's in direct contact with, allowing her to mimic superstrength, durability, speed, and flight. More or less, she's a flying brick with superhuman condition via powers, but the specific subset of tactile telekinesis allows her to manipulate the material she's in contact with in additional ways. Zara is able to sense and map out her surroundings through her feet in a vague sense as long as everything is in contact, she can separate and fuse objects together, shatter them apart, mend them if she's able to actually visualize it correctly, and be roughly invulnerable so long as her telekinetic shield is stronger than the incoming attacks. She's studious when it comes to her powers and can correctly measure and quantify it's strengths and weaknesses as well as explore additional abilities, which allows her to adapt to changing situations and aided her in developing her next power.
  • [Martial Arts Mastery]: Rather than being born with this ability, it's one Zara had to work hard at and train for. While she's a naturally gifted brawler, she took a keen interest in training and developing martial arts specific to superhumans and their extraordinary abilities. She noticed that traditional martial arts took the assumption of similar skill levels or relative strength between two opponents and this simply was not the case with powered individuals of any caliber. Using her own powers as a base, she developed Superhuman Mixed Martial Arts (SHMMA) to address these concerns and utilize her powers effectively when fighting others - adding in adaptive and defensive elements to better respond to an opponents powers and differing move set. She has made a name for herself in Springfield and offers to teach others how to use their powers in creative, combative ways - for a worthwhile price.

Limitations:
  • [Contact]: Zara needs to be direct contact with something to manipulate it. The only exception is through her own clothes as her field extends just barely past them, her telekinetic field extends roughly half an inch from her body.
  • [Conscious]: A caveat of her mental powers, she must be awake and aware in order to use her powers. From training and testing, she has her mental field almost always on when awake. A change in mental state, sleep, inhibitors, and the like, can drastically affect her mental prowess.
  • [Strength]: The strength of her mental field is tied directly with her mental strength and well-being. She may be able to toss around cars and trucks with relative ease initially, the feats require energy inputs and will slowly drain her power down. Her destructive power and lifting strength can vary, but it tops out at around medium building level. Tier 8.

Weaknesses:
  • [Stamina]: Zara is human, after all, and requires mental energy to keep up her telekinetic field. She can be worn down, fatigued, and that ties directly into her telekinetic power level. A prolonged fight can drain her stamina and drastically affect her performance and ability.
  • [Energy]: Touch is all it takes for Zara to manipulate something, but it's limited to physical matter. She can't manipulate energy - She may be able to weather blasts and explosions, but she cannot manipulate the energy as soon as it comes in contact with her body.
  • [Sleep]: Since Zara needs to be awake and aware for her powers to be active, a viable method of catching her off-guard is when she's asleep.

Minor thing, power don't come from training, they're all included in the package, so we can just include it with that. Obviously it very much a WIP, but slightly more detail on the Tactile Telekinesis would be great.

Name: Isabella Irving | Firestorm
Age: 27 | 15
Gender: Female
Appearance: Here (the horns are for personal branding)
Power Classifications: Artificer
Bio: Only daughter of a rifle collector and an elementary school teacher, Isabella did not seem like she was destined for the wild ride - quite to the contrary, she had a normal childhood and upbringing, peaceful and unnoteworthy. Entering her adolescence, she developed an interest in chemistry and eventually found herself graduating from college and quickly finding a job in the field of medicinal chemistry - not her first pick, but it paid well. It was around this time that her powers, hitherto unknown to her, manifested in full force during a laboratory accident that resulted in Isabella and a number of her colleagues being exposed to a supernatural concoction that made them drastically revert in age, leaving them with the bodies they possessed a whooping twelve years ago. Though she hoped that the change was temporary and even tried everything she could think of to revert it, it quickly became apparent that the damage was permanent.

She was shipped off to Springfield in short order, and though being thrown into a largely hostile environment in the body of a child presented its fair share of problems, her shrewdness allowed her to eventually scrounge together enough resources to begin experimenting with her powers. It was during this period that she discovered her true passion of using the twin powers of alchemy and metallurgy to create all sorts of weapons imaginable. In a city like Springfield, this provided her with ample opportunity for profit and a valuable skill to leverage in exchange for relative safety from the chaos of the streets. Within a few weeks, Firestorm began to make a name for herself, though she largely tried to stay out of gang politics and the like.

Following a chance encounter with Disaster, the two struck a fast friendship and began to work and live together, using their abilities in tandem to keep themselves safe and carry out the odd job to put food on the table when the business wasn’t going smoothly. For the last six months or so this had been routine, until the arrival of a certain drone bearing an offer that was hard to refuse.
Powers:
  • [Fire and Steel]: Blessed with the twin powers of alchemy and metallurgy, Izzy can create a wide range of products, from fuel cells and household tools to regenerative draughts and indestructible katanas. Of course, these talents shine the brightest when they are used together to create a wide range of weaponry and ammunitions, from self-defense to demolitions, from hand-held to vehicle-mounted (depending on the resources available of course). Some of her favorites which she tends to keep on herself are her trusty combustion gauntlets and her water cannon.

Limitations:
  • Obviously, creating weapons is a process that takes time, and creating more powerful weapons takes more time and resources. The same applies to chemical substances or alchemical concoctions, as they require a laboratory and various ingredients and procedures.
  • In general, the limitations of the weapons Izzy creates vary wildly between one and the next, but a rule of thumb is that the more powerful a certain firearm or piece of equipment is, the scarcer the ammunition and/or energy reserves for it will be.

Weaknesses:
  • [Frailty]: Leaving aside the obvious fact that she has not a drop of Titan power in her, Izzy's big lab accident, coupled with the many experiments before and after then that took a toll on her, have left her with all the physical prowess of a particularly fragile teenage girl.
  • [Power Counters]: Izzy greatly dislikes pyromancers and technomancers. They like to steal her thunder or mess with her stuff.

Name: Wallace Wright | Disaster
Age: 21
Gender: Male
Appearance: Here
Power Classifications: Master/Titan
Bio: Wallace Winston Wright, only son of a disgraced politician, had the misfortune of being within the limits of the city of Las Vegas when the barrier came up and the civilians within were cut off from the rest of the world. He had just turned seven when he bore witness to the tragedy that put an end to the golden age of superheroes, a tragedy that predictably left him orphaned and only miraculously did not claim his life as well. When the barrier came down and people started coming in to pile bodies and take stock of the situation, he was found and carted away to be lost in foster care. With the incident leaving him deeply traumatized and the government stretched thin due to the influx of orphans from Madhouse's slaughter and other displays of villainy, he found neither a family nor the psychological counsel that he needed as he continued growing up in the system.

Things changed for him during his late teens. For better or for worse, that's hard to say, but it was at that time that he began manifesting his powers. With little control over them at first, he found himself unable to suppress certain manifestations that began occurring around him. Bodies of water began having spontaneous displays of vitality, growing fins and eyes and hands. The people around him were understandably terrified by these sudden developments, but since there was no evidence of a link between Wallace and these events, most attributed it to some sort of haunting. This continued even after he got kicked out of the orphanage, and it was only when the government got involved a year later that it was determined the boy was the cause of these things, having developed some rather unsightly powers, and as was the case with all other citizens with special abilities, he was treated as a leper and carted off to the leper colony that was Springfield.

Coming back after many years made for a bitter reunion. He had little in terms of marketable abilities, and the Militia offered no shelter, deeming him old enough to look after himself. The grotesquerie of his power did not endear him to many, and the places that offered refuge for misfits had no place for him. All he had to offer was the Horror's borrowed strength. What little solace was there to be found came from his body's ability to persevere, the kinship of the city's children whom he protected from the violence to the best of his ability, and the occasional hot meal he managed to earn. For the next two years he drifted from place to place, and though he earned some infamy for his irritating principles and supposed refusal to live up to his potential, it was noted that he didn’t lack in raw power; the destroyed remains of the hideout of a particularly detestable upstart gang earned him the moniker of Disaster.

After a chance encounter with Firestorm, he decided to stick with her and help her stay safe while she carried out her usual business, working together to earn their keep whenever that didn’t pan out. This arrangement gave the errant Disaster a sense of stability and purpose, as well as proper meals. They were eventually visited by a peculiar drone that made them an intriguing offer.
Powers:
  • [Drowned Horror]: Wallace's main ability allows him to control - and indeed might have created - a vast, monstrous, endlessly mutable shapeshifting entity. This creature exists in an unknown aquatic location separate from mundane space and Wallace can use any liquids as gateways to manifest parts of it. In the case of manifesting sensory organs through one of these gateways, he can choose to share these senses and perceive whatever they perceive. He can consciously direct its mutations and cause it to create new appendages and alter its biology as needed to suit his purposes.
  • [Unyielding Flesh]: His secondary ability, more of a passive property of his body than a power he can exert, is a particular kind of resilience. He can withstand far more trauma than would ordinarily be necessary to knock out or even kill a person, and his wounds in fact heal slightly faster than usual. His body also seems to stamp out any form of disease or infection on its own, and resists the ravages of insomnia and starvation to a fault. This power not only protects him from natural conditions but also man-made chemicals and pathogens meant to cause harm.

Limitations:
  • The Drowned Horror, as mentioned, can only manifest through liquids. It can not, however, manifest inside of any living organism.
  • Attempts to sense things that he ordinarily couldn't through the use of specialized sensory organs can have negative effects on him.
  • Any manifestation will immediately vanish if Wallace loses consciousness even for a moment.
  • His Unyielding Flesh not only protects him, but also actively purges any sort of chemical or foreign substance meant to benefit him.
  • While Wallace can resist things that would knock out or kill normal humans, he is not impervious. In a city dominated by superhuman violence, this technically aids his survival but doesn't make him particularly difficult to deal with on his own.
  • He also does not have above average strength, speed or durability to aid him in combat, and some of the things he can resist better than a normal human are themselves symptoms caused or exacerbated by the side effects of his powers.

Weaknesses:
  • [Sunless Depths]: While the physical attributes of the Drowned Horror's manifestations vary wildly, they do share a common weakness against bursts of concentrated or extremely bright light, which can incinerate or even disintegrate any affected areas depending on their potency..
  • [Sensory Overload]: Wallace can be easily stunned by being subjected to extremely potent stimuli while sharing his senses with the Drowned Horror.
  • [Power Counters]: Superhumans with abilities that can force unconsciousness or stealth-based powers can easily handle him or choose to avoid him. As with most things, overwhelming force is effective, if not to kill him then to render him unable to retaliate or, at least, dispose of any extant manifestations and make the battle easier. Photokinesis, as mentioned, is a natural and very potent counter to his abilities.

Name: Zara Jo Ripley | Brawler
Age: 25

Power Classifications: [bad bitch alert]
Bio:
she was born then kept livin'

Powers:
  • [Tactile Telekinesis]: touch n move

(facepalm)

see this is what I mean.

Yes, her audiokinesis and her technokinesis are linked - just not in that way. All her attacks are not always technology + sound. It's the tech on its own. It's the fact she can manipulate (move and shape) tech because she is tech, and that when her power had kicked in - as it was lying dormant in her all her life - in a way it'd kinda turned her into tech. More like, I don't think I'm explaining how I'm seeing my idea for her right - but I'm trying to say that, she essentially is empathizing with tech because she is tech herself. Because she can turn her mechanical arms into cannons, claws, that sort of thing or twist her body around like a droid or robot or have her arms and legs be replaced with scraps.

I was thinking that sorta thing.

But, with her audiokinesis, I was thinking that it wasn't by itself. It is technically, kinda-sorta a "second power" but it doesn't mean all her tech is sound-based tech. it means that her audiokinesis is accessed by technokinesis. She has control of tech but not all tech she's controlling is audio-based tech like Bose Noisecancelling Headphones or smth.

Not all the cannons she makes are cannons that amplify sound or can mess with volumes. Yes, the powers are linked - and I was saying that in the first place, as that's how she'd got audiokinesis. She didn't get Audiokinesis by itself. She'd had it attached/through another thing.

But not all her tech/body parts etc are audio-based. More like, in a time when she needs to, she is accessing her audiokinesis by opening her mechanical systems (speakers, w/e in herself) up. She has to do that before she can do anything regarding audiokinesis. but her power isn't really "technoaudiokinesis," it's just Technokinesis with Audiokinesis sometimes there.

With Audiokinesis relying on her firstly being technokinetic - but not all her attacks et al are audiobased.

See - I had ideas for her and how her power'd work. I like the idea of, that she has speakers in her (or smth like that) that can fire out soundwaves. That she can manipulate only her own sound. But she herself isn't soundbased. She is mechanical first and foremost, so all of her power is/would be relating to the techno(kinesis).

I had the idea of her, more-or-less, being Altered or w/e - where her body was/is irreversibly changed into something mechanical/robotic/synthetic - something like an android or 'bot that can replace its own parts with anything (scraps lying around) - that sorta thing. So she mainly is the techno side of things, but she just has the Audiokinesis which is reliant on her technokinesis. She can still use technokinesis but she cannot use her audiokinesis by itself/on its own because she has to open herself up to be able to. She'd have to access speakers (or smth) to be able to use that power.

But her technokinesis, by itself - is good. Her hair, etc is mechanical. She can move her hair around much like Doc Ock's tendril-arm-things - that sorta idea was what I'd had for her.

Buddy I think that's pretty much what Atria said.

I don't see where he mentioned anything about your char not being able to create tech unrelated to sound.

Name: Candace Aberdeen | Blood Sister
Age: 24
Gender: F
Appearance (pics if possible): Image. Generally dressed in white nun attire, with dyed blue hair (not really nun behavior, but who's stopping her here?)
Power Classifications: Artificer
Bio: Candace was raised in an orphanage attached to a Catholic monastery in Illinois. She was a timid, quiet kid, very religious and very diligent, which earned her adoration from the orphanage's headmasters. In spite of this, however, she was not taken from the orphanage for adoption, and, after some time, she requested permission to take another path - to become a nun in the monastery and spend her life giving thanks to God. After some time, the monastery's abbot accepted and she began study and training in the matters of faith. She became a helper in the monastery grounds, studied the Bible, earned a modest education, and, on her eighteenth birthday, was accepted into the ranks of the monks in a modest ceremony.

A few months later, something changed. One day, in her personal quarters, after hours of reading through a religious text and briefly breaking her iron will due to the incomprehensible ancient Greek, Candace rested her head on the book, and then an idea she had never even considered before surged into her mind. She began gathering scraps, leftover food, swept up some old clocks and mid-20th century machines, dismantled them and began building. The blood in her veins... everything about it suddenly became so clear, how it works, and how she could work with it. She began making medicines. Cure for bloodborne diseases, then an injection that refills one's blood with oxygen and so allows a person to stay alive without breathing. It was completely instinctual to her. It could not last, however. One day, the smell from her room got one of the monastery's nuns to enter, and once she saw what Candace was doing, she immediately reported her to the abbot.

After a lengthy explanation, the abbot realized that Candace had somehow unlocked superhuman abilities. The monastery did not have an issue with Candace and she was respected among the monks, but they also knew that keeping her powers a secret could cause unwanted troubles with the law if said secret got out. So, after informing the police, the abbot figured out a deal. Officially, Candace was sent on a missionary mission to Springfield - God knows that demon-infested city needs someone to remind them of the word of Jesus. Practically, it was goodbye.

Candace arrived to Springfield on an armored truck and was welcomed by Deus Machina - who recommended her to seek the Merchant's Guild. Their utterly sinful attitude did not give her a first impression - however, she was soon drawn to the Docs. Already, she had basic practice in giving first aid and doing surgery, her powers were naturally helpful for the healers, and they were, if anything, doing a good service to the community. She found herself a tiny apartment which she turned into her lab, where she built herself a weapon and plenty of blood injections for various purposes, good and bad, she worked to join the Docs and was eventually accepted into one of their clinics, and she established a small Catholic charity for the poor and the orphans to provide them food. It wasn't much, and the life here was as crazy, insane, dangerous and inhumane as she imagined, but becoming a Doc offered her some security and she slowly worked to make a difference.

That was six years ago. Living here for so long takes a toll on any person, and Candace is no exception. The ceaseless violence, bloodthirst and insanity of the city has eroded at her mental fortitude. Using her blood artificery to kill human beings, once a horrific act she sought penance for, has turned more and more mundane - and it was even turning a little exciting, to use a new and never tried before way of killing a person through her blood and watch it work exactly as she wanted... She still sees herself as a woman of God, she still helps the unfortunate in a charity and helps others in the clinic, but she can also giggle after making the blood of someone trying to assault her start to literally boil.
Powers:
  • Blood Artificery: Candace has an innate understanding of more or less everything that's got to do with human blood. How it works, to the molecular level, how technology can manipulate it, and how she can create the technology needed to manipulate it. Unlike, say, the Scarlet Queen, she cannot control blood, but she works through tech instead - chemicals, pills, hormones, so on and so forth. She uses her power for two main purposes: first, to heal and strengthen people by injections (making a person's blood cover wounds and rebuild tissue, making it alter a person's body to strengthen them, etc. etc.); and second, to kill people by injections - quite brutally if needed. When you can artifice futuristic blood manipulation tech, you can make a person's blood do a lot of crazy things. Like turn to orange juice, or burn.
  • Remote Injector: Candace has built a pistol-like gun that can silently shoot darts and pellets loaded with her "medicine". This is her only method of fighting.
  • Surgical Proficiency: Candace is a fairly adept surgeon. Not a superpower, just something she's good at.

Limitations:
  • Candace needs to get through a person's skin if she wants to use her tech on them in any way. Her remote injector has a maximum piercing power of a sniper round. If someone's body is physically stronger than that, or their shields/defenses are stronger than that, her injector can't get through and so she cannot inject them with anything.
  • If she cannot inject, she can give a person "medicine" orally, which requires the person to have a mouth that she can reach.
  • No matter how strong she makes her "medicine", it is limited by having to spread through a person's bloodstream. If someone doesn't have blood, then she cannot affect them.
  • Candace can only work with human blood, including Altered humans. Dogs, aliens, gods, they all have genetic code that she is unfamiliar with and her "medicine" doesn't work on as well as it does on humans.

Weaknesses:
  • Normal Human: Candace is somewhat fit, but still physically a normal human person. If you hit her with a car, she will die.
  • Machines: Machines don't have blood. Her tech is completely useless against them.
  • Master Supers: Master supers counter her hard. They generally use minions that don't have blood at all, or if they do, they're various kinds of animals, monsters, plants, etc. none of which Candace can do anything against.

- and it wasn't really "rambling," just how she'd chose to use her powers and more char-based/personality stuff than how she was effected by them - but as I'd said, I was getting to that part

Debating on removing the Adrenaline Empowerment ability, let me know how you feel about it.

Name: Ethan Rikers | Amp
Age: 22
Gender: Male
Appearance (pics if possible): 1 | 2
Power Classifications: Striker/Blaster, Speeder
Bio:
Born in Seattle, Ethan Rikers is the only son of an electrician father and stay-at-home remotely working mother. As an only child, he was given a great deal of attention from his father, who sought to have his son some day inherit the family business and become an electrician by trade. However, as he grew older, it became abundantly clear that Ethan's passion was not in the family business or in electrician work, but rather in fixing and maintaining cars. He had a desire to become a "racecar mechanic" some day and dreamed of driving fast cars and building even faster ones.

His early life was marred with familial strife and economic hardships, as his father had occasional bouts of alcoholic rage and his mother was stressed out from work, but his social life remained relatively intact and stable. He took up DJing and playing the guitar as hobby, getting a hold of his father's electric guitar from the family storage unit and retrofitting it with more modern equipment, which he still owns to this day, and occasionally playing sets at small garage venues under the stage name of "Amp." However, the stress from his tumultuous family life began to take a toll on him, and he turned to delinquency as a result, often staying up late and getting into trouble where he shouldn't have.

It didn't help that his latent powers suddenly manifesting at 16 overcomplicated things immensely. At one gig he was performing at, the start of a mosh pit let out a destructive and sudden force of pure energy from Ethan, wrecking the set and a good portion of the suburban neighborhood he was performing in. Although no one was able to determine what happened or who caused the ensuing panic (with the authorities chalking it up to a gas leak), Ethan knew he wasn't going to last long trying to suppress his powers. Meditating didn't seem to work at all, and he was usually too hyper to even sleep. He touched base with a local dealer that lent him prescription sleeping pills which seemed to work well enough, although they made his life so slow that he felt like he would die standing upright.

He had to maintain a goldilocks zone of being active enough to stay "normal," while calm enough to not level a building if he sneezed. There were far too many near-misses for him to stay sane, and with fewer and fewer funds left to pay for his sleeping pills, he needed a way out. He wanted to be free—free from having to hide his powers, and free to pursue his dreams, but he had no idea where to go.

A contact of his pointed him towards the city of Springfield, hearing of its status as a safe haven for superpowered individuals like himself. It wasn't safe in the slightest, and getting in "legally" was out of the picture, but it was his best bet if he wanted to live a relatively normal life without being hunted down by the authorities, or accidentally killing those he was close to from the stress of having to hide his truth.

On his 18th birthday, Ethan left a note for his parents, explaining how he had hid his powers for the last two years and was leaving to keep them safe. Taking his heavily-modded car and music equipment, he immediately made a long road trip that took him from the Pacific Northwest all the way to Sin City itself. He immediately fell in with the Bank Rollers given their free nature, and began performing high-energy gigs and sets at their various events. However, the Bank Rollers were an entirely different breed—a group he had never even seen before. They were free, but also dangerous. Unhinged, but they had a sense of community which he craved. Even after almost totally wrecking his car more than once in their races, he desired to truly become one of them. Them deeming him "one of us" wasn't enough; he wanted to win one of their races and he wanted to live as free as they did.

Since his arrival, Ethan has roamed around Springfield with or adjacent to the Bank Rollers, taking part in their various races while also serving as a "mercenary musician" for various clients and clubs around the city. Under the street name of Amp, he's earned a knack for being a destructive but useful DJ & merc, and a good weapon when pointed in the right direction. Like a disease or a cancer, the city's corruption has taken root in him, turning what used to be an ambitious youth into a hedonist and thrill-chaser probably too young for half of the things he's gotten himself into.

He still wishes to make a name for himself in the city. Even if the age of the superhero is dead, he'll stop at nothing to make the name Amp one that's remembered in Springfield for years to come.

Powers:
  • [Living Generator]: Ethan's body defies the laws of physics by functioning as a sort of living power generator, relative to how hyper or energetic he is. He generates a form of explosive energy that manifests as a golden, violently crackling essence, and can store it within himself like a battery. His entire body functions as a circuit for this form of energy, and he can redirect it anywhere he pleases. Through touch, he is capable of imbuing small objects with this energy and launching them at targets. Smaller objects like cards, ball bearings, or small pieces of scrap metal will simply explode on contact with something, but larger objects will simply store the energy harmlessly until something makes contact with it, or will cause it to pass straight through it. On the other hand, powering machines like computers or engines will simply cause the machine or device to function at peak efficiency (with the trade off of easily being able to burn out engines or short-circuit electronics through prolonged use).
  • [Energy Projection]: Ethan is also capable of projecting his inner energy out from his body in the form of simple beams, blasts, and shields. Most of these take up a lot of energy to use and are usually more destructive than simply charging an object with energy and launching it at someone, but are a lot less precise, and he loses out on the versatility of his previous ability.
    • ["Rocket Jumping"]: Interestingly enough, Ethan's energy does not harm himself, but he has learnt a neat mobility trick through experimentation: by channeling energy to his feet or to an object near his feet, he can use the ensuing explosion to launch himself great distances, giving himself great vertical mobility. This can be chained if he hits the ground or another surface at an angle, allowing him to cross distances through blast jumping almost like a pogo-stick if he times it right.
  • [Adrenaline Empowerment]: Although most definitely not to the degree of a Titan power and not a primary ability, Ethan tends to get slightly stronger, faster, and more resilient depending on how energetic he is, often punching well above his weight level at peak activity. This ties in with one of his weaknesses directly, so he often has to pace himself when fights get physical. However, so long as he paces himself, he can hold his own or match with most peak human or slightly superhuman physical conditions.

Limitations:
  • In order to charge an object with energy, Ethan must make physical contact with it.
  • Prolonged usage of his powers will "dry him out" and require him to wait to charge back up through rest or sleep (or take stimulants/energy drinks to quicken the process).
  • Storing energy in objects for prolonged periods of time will cause the energy to naturally decay, weakening the potency of an object. If it is not discharged within about a minute or not actively being charged, it loses its effectiveness.
  • "Over-charging" small objects or machines will simply destroy the object or cause the machine to burn out, misfire, or malfunction. The amount of energy needed to be put into an object for maximum effectiveness is based upon its size.

Weaknesses (Reasons why someone could kick their ass/things that their powers don't work against):
  • [Glass Cannon]: Although Ethan's physical abilities put him a cut above normal humans, they are nowhere near the level of an actual Titan-level power. In close range, he will definitely get his ass beat by someone with proper Titan powers. Unintentionally over-exerting his body and overestimating his durability will cause him to inflict grave injury upon himself.
  • [Burn Out]: Ethan needs to constantly maintain a balance in his system to maintain proper functionality and keep himself up. His body is particularly sensitive to both extreme highs and extreme lows. If his energy levels falls too low for too long (through sleeping pills or overexerting himself with his powers), he will lack the ability to effectively use his powers or may simply pass out from exhaustion. Conversely, if he does not pace himself and goes all out on powering himself with excessive stimulants and adrenaline with no release, he runs the risk of suffering a "burn out" and instantly passing out. Staying within this middle ground lets him function safely and even push himself a little at times.
  • [Hydrophobic]: Ironically enough, open water functions as an insulator for Ethan's energy, and will considerably slow down its travel time or render it completely useless. Its molecular nature also screws with his accuracy, and active rain will dissipate blasts and other projectiles or cause them to become less accurate.

  • Flight Speed: Ozzie's flight speed tends to top out around 400-500mph when he is really booking it, but can be pushed further when performing a dive at a person/place, at the cost of control of his trajectory
  • Bird Form: In accordance with the holy ritual that gave him the abilities, Ozzie can only use the "bird form" during the day. For night, is the demons time

Weaknesses:
  • Demonic Items: Fairly self explanatory, any demonic items can weaken or totally negate his powers.
  • Bird Flu: Each use of the bird form leaves him a little more avian in nature. This has already left him with permanent dull talons and black hands.
  • NEAT Status: Ozzie is extremely lazy and unmotivated due to a "lifetime of being cooler than everyone," in his home town. Anyone with some combat experience can breeze through him in hand to hand.

Just for fun
Birthday: December 23rd
Theme song: Ironic ain't it
Likes: Mexican food, roller blading, heavy metal and sunflower seeds (Shell removed only)
Dislikes: Guns(almost lost a wing to a sp00ked farmer), demons, being bossed around, rain
Favorite food: Street tacos from the street vendor near his apartment
Greatest fear: Clowns and the Circus

I'm at work right now, but I can finish the bio when I get home. Appreciate any impressions or critiques so far if anyone has any

Got a few, the big thing is that there's no such thing as "demonic" items or demons/angels or magic in general. It's just humans and mutated humans. He could still absolutely keep the pseudo angel-bird design he's got though.

Flight speed's kinda high, it'd probably cap out at highway speeds normally, and hit the 200ish in a pure dive.
