MLB: On The Field
A multiplayer Major League Baseball roleplay where you choose your own fate—with a few obvious exceptions. (Start is during the winter of 24-25 offseason.)
In 2023, Corbin Carroll of the Arizona Diamondbacks and Gunnar Henderson of the Baltimore Orioles were named Rookies of the Year in their respective leagues (National League and American League).
Rules
I: Quality RP
Making characters overpowered to the point of unrealism (e.g. breaking the single season HR record at the age of 19) is prohibited. Also try to use proper grammar, quotation marks to represent speech, etc. The roleplay does not have to be 100% realistic to the MLB, but try not to make it some Cinderella story by much. Make sure it is a narrative story format as well, preferably third person but first person is acceptable.
II: No custom teams
There are thirty different teams for you to choose from. If you have trouble choosing and/or don’t have any bias, spin a wheel or something.
III: General realism
Try to be realistic in terms of your character(s) as well. No aliens or similar humanoid creatures, just humans. What is considered realistic for a character is up to the OP’s determination, or any Co-OPs that may be selected if it is suitable to appoint Co-OPs.
IV: RP Quantity
You will not be obliged to write paragraphs of roleplay, but please only utilize one-sentence posts if they are appropriate, such as a one-on-one conversation. Once again, what is considered appropriate for one-sentence is up to the OP, but when in doubt, don’t be too lazy.
V: Be respectful
Don’t be rude or inconsiderate to your fellow roleplayers; the reasoning behind this is self-evident.
VI: Misc.
Please don’t use AI to write your posts. Also don’t overuse incomprehensible slang.
There is no character limit, although you require at least one ballplayer if you intend to roleplay. You will not be required to use characters equally.
Ballplayers do not have to be rookies.
If you have a ballplayer, you may also have broadcaster characters, coaches, fans (when appropriate; such as family or friends), and representatives of teams or companies. If you are unsure what character occupations are allowed, ask the OP.
Umpire characters, for now, are not allowed, due to the nature of their power.
