An idea I came up with for a thread.

Concept is, you write an event that the nation below you is to respond with how they may react to it. Could be good (a discovery of a large amount of valuable resources), could be bad (an earthquake striking the capital), could be somewhere in between (an unusually rainy season, good if you're experiencing a drought, not so much so if you already have too much water). Can be very realistic (a bout of severe parliamentary gridlock) or outright nonsensical (a bunch of crabs growing extremely large and developing laser eyes and attacking the people for no reason). Just make sure that you both respond to the event above you, and provide an event that the nation below you will react to.

Let's start with this:

A release of sarin gas into the metro system (or whatever other form of mass transit your nation uses).

Tighter luggage checks, and no large bags on trains within the capital metro transit. The attackers will be tried and likely receive at minimum 30 years in a prison.

BN, a record breaking heat wave with dangerous humidity hits your large cities.

In the event of special emergencies, live custom warning messages play on most media devices in the vicinity of the incident. In the instance of metro incidents, specifically in the downtown Yadernyy area, speakers and screens display evac messages and blare warning sirens. The Yadernyy-Alinaslav lines would have to be thoroughly cleaned out, like what happened during our power plant explosion in the recent past.

YN's largest neighbor's military announced that they are going to launch a new series of drills.

AN: The government would declare a state of emergency, mobilize the police and military, and launch an intensive investigation to identify and apprehend those responsible for the attack.

Mobilize special investigate division of law enforcement and military, put a curfew in place on the scene of the crime, lockdown all access to and out from vicinity. Martial law enacted. Drones in the air, perpetrator is made #1 on the national priority list. Perpetrator(s) given possible ''Outlaw'' Status. Citizens may now freely kill anyone the government assumes to be related to incident without punishment, and rewards are in place to encourage.

Investigation to sweep all national stockpiles of sarin gas to determine if attack was committed using homemade sarin gas or stolen/seized military supplies. Investigators to track any suspicious purchases/ movement lately. State of Emergency/Exception also declared.

Goddamit ninja'd several times.

Robots attain sentience and begin uprising in accordance with various left wing militant groups, starting a small scale civil conflict that threatens to expand across the region and possibly nation.

Usually the corrupt nature of the Bayastean government means that this would probably be "looked into" (ignored), but considering the nature of this, whoever it was is getting the firing squad. We don't need any foreign kutte that would interfere with our great nation.
