The bilateral military alliance between Joseon and Sombreland





Amid rising tensions between Sombreland and Aureumterra, Joseon and Sombreland agreed to sign a bilateral military alliance on July 15. This is an alliance treaty between the two sides since Sombreland left ICON.

Details are not known, but according to government officials, Joseon acquired the authority to build a military base in the territory of Sombreland instead of providing military support in case of emergency.

Announcing the signing of a military alliance between the two countries at a regular briefing, the Ministry of Defense spokesman said, "We hope the move will help ease the current military tension between Sombreland and Aureumterra."

Meanwhile, Empress Lee Dam mentioned her recent visit to Sombreland for an official event, saying, "Sombreland is a country of potential, a country we should value," adding, "Princess-Regent doesn't seem to have wanted war. Nevertheless, it is a pity that tensions are escalating."

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs will hold Joseon cultural experience events at Joseon embassies dispatched to each country





The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has decided to hold Joseon cultural experience events at Joseon embassies in each country, including ICON member states. The event runs from August 2nd to 16th for a total of 14 days.

Daesung Aerospace and Soonyang Defense are emerging as new leaders in the defense industry

The Five Provinces Crisis: Joseon's army and air force conduct joint exercises with Sombreland's military





While the war crisis between Sombreland and Aureumterra showed no signs of ending, Joseon's army and air force began joint military exercises at The Five Provinces with Sombreland's forces.

With more than 50,000 troops and more than 200 aircraft, the exercise will take place on the ground and in the air at The Five Provinces, based on Galador Air Base, with a total exercise period of two weeks.

However, there are voices of concern that the move could provoke Aureumterra and that Joseon would be involved in dangerous overseas conflict. BREAKING NEWS: William Acton, President of Meridon, has resigned.



President William Acton of the Federal Republic of Meridon announced his resignation in a press statement on October 6. The announcement of his resignation comes ahead of a vote of no confidence in him, sparked by his leadership being questioned due to improper response to the Composites incident on Advent Island. This leaves President William Acton as president after three and a half years.

The incident that prompted his resignation began when information came out to Meridon's military that Air Force's Air Lieutenant Commandant Aurelia Whitegrove, who was aboard a Meridon Air Force transport plane that crashed on Advent Island, was alive and she was being detained by artificial intelligence creatures known as Composites. Meridon's military suffered an armed conflict during its encounter with the Composites and lost a helicopter in the process.

This prompted William Acton to mobilize Meridon's military forces to encircle Advent Island and launch a crackdown operation against the Composites. This caused political tension between Meridon and its allies, and there were major protests within Meridon.

Criticism of William Acton's failure to resolve the Advent Island incident has led to growing calls for a vote of no confidence in him. Eventually, William Acton resigned in a press statement, and Vice President Yui Townley succeeded William Acton as the 33rd president.

Joseon's government, which expressed its support for the Meridon government in the course of the incident, immediately expressed its position. At a press conference, a spokesman for the Prime Minister's Office said, "The resignation of William Acton, the leader of our Ally, is unfortunate for us," but added, "We believe that Yui Townley will lead her administration and Meridon well, and we will fully support Yui Townley and Meridon."

A first trial ruling was issued against those involved in the attempted coup

Members of the new Cabinet have been unveiled

The return of the former prime minister

The ruling party won a landslide victory in the early general election









In an early general election, which was agreed upon by Prime Minister Park Yohan, the ruling party, and opposition parties, the centrist and progressive Democratic Political Party won 235, or more than a majority of 420 seats. The Ministry of Defense conducted the largest military exercise in Yuldo





A carrier strike group centered on the aircraft carrier KHMS Inwangsan is sailing in waters near Yuldo.




Apart from the 'Vigilant Sentry' exercise held in Yuldo in March, the Ministry of Defense conducted military exercises on the assumption of an expeditionary operation to defend Yuldo, led by the Navy's Fleet Command and Air Force Air Combat Command. The drills involved naval assets, including five Navy aircraft carriers, 35 destroyers, 10 cruisers, 25 SSN submarines, and Air Force's assets, including 560 Air Force fighter jets, and 60 strategic bombers. This is the largest military exercise ever conducted in Yuldo.

This exercise was conducted on the premise of a scenario in which a hypothetical enemy force launched a large-scale naval and air invasion of the Yuldo region. The Ministry of Defense did not give details of the exercise but said they had checked the overall defense posture in the Yuldo region and improved the military's capabilities for away operations. It also announced that the drills were conducted to check Joseon's defense posture against Yuldo and urge "neighboring countries not to think dangerous thoughts.".

The Ministry of Defense and the government did not say which neighboring countries the drills targeted, but a majority of those involved agreed with the analysis that they were a warning message to the République Autonome d’Arcadie(Arcadie). Arcadie has been making hostile diplomatic gestures to Joseon, and many of Arcadian high government officials have publicly spoken out against Yuldo's existence. A Ministry of Defense official expressed a rather radical view, saying, "If an authoritarian Arcadie threatens or even invades Yuldo, we have the power to go beyond repelling the invasion of Arcadie and crush Arcadian mainland. Arcadie needs to act humble in accordance with their national power."




The government proposed talks to Kozakura for economic cooperation










The Ministry of Foreign Affairs proposed bilateral talks for economic cooperation with the State of Kozakura in an official press release.
