Who, in history, is your nation's worst dictator ever? What did he do to bring such infamy? And what impact did he bring?

It is very common to have a dictatorship in one country's history since it is the only form of a political entity before the idea of republicanism and democracy rise. However, whether a leader is bad, or the worst in history, is always under debate, and that, of course, includes dictators, or, only includes dictators.

In Aquaria's history, Kajetan Kocurek (1895 - 1986) is often regarded as the worst and the most brutal dictator to have ruled the country. Kocurek rose to power during the Great Depression and was elected as the 14th Chancellor of Aquaria in 1936. He was a right-wing fascist leader who aimed to restore Aquaria's imperial glory, unify the Ural race, and build a theocratic rule with Catholic Christian being in absolute power.

Kocurek's regime began with the systematic persecution of non-Uralic races, with many concentration camps built, and nearly one-third of the population imposed. This persecution extended to all of Aquaria's colonies, resulting in a death toll of 65 million, with Aqua India being the most affected region. Kocurek prioritized militarization over economic recovery, leading to his failure to deliver on his promise of bringing bread to the citizens.

In 1939, Kocurek staged a self-coup and declared the Communist Party and any other opposing parties illegal, accusing them of a failed mutiny within the Imperial Army. He then declared the "Imperial Declaration," which made him an absolute dictator and overthrew the power of the imperial family .

During World War II, Aquaria under Kocurek's rule shifted from a pro-western diplomatic policy to a pro-Axis policy. The country successfully invaded several countries and regions, including Norway, Sweden, and Danish Greenland. However, his military overshadowed achievements did the pain and misery he brought to the people, which eventually led to the success of the 1943 January Revolution, led by the Communist Party.

Despite his failure to suppress the revolution, Kocurek continued his tyrannical rule over the population, fleeing to the South and fighting to regain territories. He spent almost three-quarters of the government's budget on military and suppression of opposing forces, including the Cr at Southern guerrilla warfare. The government continued its persecution of non-Uralic races, with Kocurek starting another genocide on the Artorian race, which is a large ethnic making up 39% of the Aquaria's population, in 1956, resulting in almost 12 million deaths.

In 1975, Kocurek staged a coup against the imperial family, accusing them of surrendering to the Communist Party during peace talks. He removed them from power, leading to chaos in the South, with the people divided into "Disgraced" (2/3) and "Believers" (1/3), with all the former sentence to life forced labour and slavery. The South fell into riots, causing almost a million deaths from brutal suppression.

Kocurek's dictatorship ended in 1978 when the North invaded with a casus belli to protect the Artorian's revolution, and he was sentenced to life imprisonment due to his psychotic diseases. He later died in prison in 1987, at the age of 92. It is known that he was severely bullied during his imprisonment, even when the bully are punished.

Such a dictator is widely considered as a devil in the Aquaria's history, when scars caused by him is still widely found in the country, including the extreme death toll, distrust on authority and ethnic genocides. However, with the people's contributions, the Aquaria will surely be able to walk out from the darkness, even if that will take thousands of year to do so. The revolution will continue.

Probably current leader Cloe Aithbitt, who between other not-so-great things I probably shouldn't say has "disappeared" countless people, committed genocide against everyone who wouldn't make the political compass site turn blue from how far up that corner they are, and publicly said she would "invite [angry moustache man] to her computer to chill, tell him to reconsider his liberal views, and throw some nukes".

While to call him a dictator is something of a modern reading on a historical situation, Kaiwhakarite o te Raki (1360 - 1417) is generally considered the most brutal and loathed leader in the history of Tangatarehua.

Originally a Toa from Moanapapa, he notoriously staged a series of coups in which he assassinated Rangatira Te Mana Kaupapa and Empress Tika me te whakaaro nui in the year 1393 before kidnapping Crown Princess Ngahuia.

After many years of civil war, he finally obtained full control of Tangatarehua in 1402, in which he declared himself 'Ariki' (Paramount Chief) of Tangatarehua and ruled the nation with an iron fist until his death in 1417. He was particularly notorious for his brutality against opponents and for using mass rape and cannibalism as a way to keep people afraid of him and retain power.

After his death, Tangatarehua broke down into more than a century of civil war as he left no successors, believing himself to be immortal.

Other mentions for 'worst dictators' should go to Te Rata Porangi (ruled 1941 - 1957) who founded the notorious military junta that ruled Tangatarehua until 1979 and started a series of doomed wars in an attempt to create a pan-Polynesian empire. He also rounded up all political opponents, including liberals, pacifists and communists and jailed them, and outlawed elections and was openly a supporter of the Nazis.

His son Te Rata Pakanga (ruled 1957 - 1979) was considered less ruthless on a domestic level but internationally was guilty of extreme atrocities and war crimes for which he was executed in 1980, during Tangatarehua's transition to democracy.

General Bubba Bubbavich Long II is not called "The Butcher" for his meat carving skills.

Taking power in a coup d'etat overwhelmingly supported by the police and military, as well as super-majorities of the TurtleShroomian people, his mandate was to crush the destabilizing country's Marxist uprising. He started this, but went too far.

In its history, TurtleShroom has seen three coups attempted plus a plot in the nineties. Of these four, two succeeded, both in the 2010's AD.

The First Sacred Junta occurred during the invasion of TurtleShroom by The Ctan with support from Menelmacar. It worked to stop a genocide passed by abuse of legislative loopholes and the betrayal of one of the Regents of the era.

The traditions of TurtleShroom and the military have always maintained that in the event of a coup, the custom of multiple heads of state was vital to the preservation of impartiality and a maintenance of order, because juntas were by definition transitional in TS custom.

General Long II sidelined his fellow junta committeemen and established himself as military dictator. He unilaterally nullified the Constitution of TurtleShroom and began a bloodbath of a campaign against the Marxists.

In retaliation, multiple groups of varying ideologies- all of which backed Long fully at the start -revolted alongside the Marxists, resulting in the TurtleShroomian Civil War. While the official death toll was around one million, new bodies and graves are still being found, and the numbers could be as much as ten times that number.

The TurtleShroomian Civil War resolved itself when the varying Cliques formed an alliance to crush the Marxist threat, which had attempted to besiege TurtleShroom's capital Jonesboro and only got defeated by chemical weapons deployment. As part of the deal, TurtleShroom was to be reconstituted as a confederation, with the Cliques carving up their own domains and private fiefdoms being distributed for other groups that aided them. TurtleShroom today is structured similarly to the Holy Roman Empire of old due to this cooperation between the warring factions.

As for Long himself, he was put under house arrest and quietly discharged from the military. Many people have tried to assassinate him since, but none have succeeded.

The nation is run specifically according to their own personal preferences - anything they dislike is immediately banned while anything they like is praised and highly encouraged for the general population to consume. There are also no rights for minority groups that the leader dislikes. His disliked groups include certain ethnicities (Russian, Serbian, Palestinian, and Armenian), Catholics, Muslims, and LGBTQA+ people (with him exempt of course as he is married to a man). The nation is also run on a ruthless laissez faire capitalist system with no social safety net in existence as that's "socialism".

Oh, and socialists/communists are outright repressed, rounded up, tortured, and murdered. This is done on the basis that they're "Anti-human".

Taking power in 1933 due to an election by an little more than half of the votes which made him win against the communists in the election, making his leadership controversial. In response to this, he launched the Holy Purge, an genocide against non-christians, the LGBTQ community, and communists. The Holy Purge was very brutal and bloody, that the survivors will have mental wounds that won't heal for decades. He also renamed the First Republic into the Crusading Order.

He commanded the invasion of Great Autocria and other Caribbean countries before he was murdered by his own brother, Christien Faucon, founder of the Conservative Party during an coup d'etat that toppled the tyrannical regime of Christophe Faucon in 1945.

It's difficult to pick the worst dictator as there have been so many throughout Amigosan history. The most recent one that comes to mind, approximately 30 years ago, is the Imperial Archon Nikephorus Desmarius I. He enacted the Senatus Consultum Immigro, also known as the Edict of Nikephorus. The Edict authorized the forced relocation of all Non-Maleficar from the capital planet, Phoenicia, to labour camps on the periphery of Amigosan space. The Non-Maleficar (who were also native to Phoenicia) resisted the relocation order with mass protests in many major cities. Archon Desmarius ordered the Imperial Defense Force into the cities to crush the resistance resulting in a mass genocide. This caused a rebellion and a 7 year civil war. Archon Desmarius was assassinated and the 2nd Amigosan Empire collapsed.

The dictatorship of Raja Iskandarshah: 1978-1980

who doesn't know about Raja Iskandarshah? a man who usurped the throne of the Ibrahimi Dynasty of Sarawak Darulhana and became a "king" who killed hundreds of thousands of his people with his dictatorship?

In 1978, a royal relative of Sarawak Darulhana, Awang Iskandar bin Awang Abot, staged a rebellion against the leadership of Sultan Tengah II and also the Ibrahimi Dynasty, causing the Sultan to be overthrown and deported to Brunei.
After the expulsion of Sultan Tengah II from his throne, Awang Iskandar then appointed himself as "Sultan" and used the royal name "Raja Iskandarshah" and started the Iskandar Dynasty of Sarawak Darulhana.
when King Iskandarshah became sultan, he killed many people who opposed him. worst of all, he himself ordered the army to violate women's honor and also ordered his army to kill those who supported the Ibrahimi Dynasty.
Raja Iskandarshah killed his own people using acid where he ordered an air unit to spray the area (residents who opposed him) with acid. at least 7000 killed and 800000 injured.
that was not enough, Raja Iskandar also encouraged his soldiers to "have sex" with the same sex. Not enough? His soldiers also raped boys and after reaching the climax, the children were brutally killed.

In 1980, a movement known as the "13 Pillar Movement" held a massive demonstration in Santubong to overthrow Raja skandarshah. Why did the 13 Pillar Movement exist? This is because Sultan Tengah II had written a letter to his people that His Majesty was still alive and His Majesty also ordered to the people to unite regardless of Malay or Dayak to get out of the situation of tyranny and oppression.

On May 17, 1980, the people surrounded the residence of King Iskandarshah to kill him. Although his residence was guarded by the army, the spirit of "Unity for Dignity" encouraged the people to get out of the era of tyranny and oppression and finally King Iskandarshah was killed. So, the story of the devil who named Awang Iskandar who was killed by his own people.
Sultan Tengah II ascended the throne for the second time and many people took an oath that they would be loyal to the Ibrahimi Dynasty and were also ready to sacrifice for the sake of the Ibrahimi Dynasty so that the black tragedy would not happen again.

The North Marinian Fascist Regime, 1959-1983

Introduction:
Greater Marine's worst dictatorship was the fascist regime of 1959-1983, led by General Michael Pierre-Gustav, "the butcher", who killed over 2.2 million dissenters, jews and random civilians, which controlled a breakaway state in the north of the country, following an invasion by fascist Blackacre, which effectively controlled the new state of "North Marinia". During the "Grey terror" of 1960-63, the army turned on the masses, killing, arresting, and sending millions of people to forced labour camps. His government, whilst officially neutral, was heavily anti-western, and as such aligned itself with the USSR and North Korea. When people began to turn against the regime, they were deported to gulags in Blackacre.

What was life like in North Marinia?
Under his rule, autarky meant the economy imploded. Poorly planned economic policy meant crop yields cratered, and millions starved, even in cities. People were bombarded with propaganda, morning, noon and night, much of which was targeted against "enemies of the state": Jews, The Republic of Greater Marine, the USA, pro-democracy protestors and the UN, whilst reinforcing traditional, religious values. Autarky meant nearly everything was in short supply: as such, medicine, food and consumer goods were scarce, and people only lived to 58 , on average. People lived in constant fear of the secret police, the feared National Internal Security Forces, which were responsible for many of the state's darker deeds. No-one owned a car, or a refrigerator, save for the elite of the North Marinian Fascist Party, who, due to extreme corruption, lived extravagant lives. The party permeated every level of society: it had a youth wing, called the National Children's League, which promoted fascist values in school: everyone swore allegiance to the party's red and black banner, and the feared "redcaps", the paramilitary arm of the party, strutted proudly through the streets, and beat up civilians for fun. Corruption was rampant, from the top of the party, to the bottom: bribes were needed to secure even basic essentials, and for the average redcap, over 60% of their income came from bribes, blackmail (normally with threats of violence or even imprisonment) and extortion. The fascist party was the only legal party, and whilst there was a parliament, it existed in name only. The leader had a cult of personality around him, appearing in movies, cartoons, and children's books. The army was idolised, and practically worshipped, with military parades happening across the country, and featuring heavily in propaganda films.

How the dictatorship ended:
On the 14th August, 1982, hundreds of pro-democracy protestors stormed his palace, which caused a state of anarchy and violence, prompting the Marinian war of reunification. The Marinian forces landed on December beach on the 16th and quickly fought their way to the capital, making mincemeat of the underprepared, poorly equipped fascist army. The leader was killed by an airstrike on the 2nd August, 1983, and his government surrendered 2 hours later.

The only person widely regarded as a dictator was Lord Horatio de Bourbon y de Flores. A cousin of Ferdinand VII of Spain, he was the Crown-appointed governor of Oronia following the conquest of the Empire of Komkiñepu in 1815. Under his rule, thousands of native Oronians were displaced from their homes, and hundreds were killed. Initially favored by the Crown, Lord Horatio soon lost its trust when he began stealing gold and and resources that were supposed to be sent to Spain and its colonies. He fled to a monastery in Chile when the capital city was seized by Oronian rebels, where he remained until his death.

The tiptop Tiptops of Tiptoptopia have never stooped to something so lowly as a dictatorship. We are firmly based on first-world-country premises, like the Star Gate research program, giving robot arms to as many adults as possible while banning fetuses from being cloned and aborted for research purposes, and supporting the head of the Church of England's right to be as Islamic as he'd like. Objects in the Overton window may be closer than they appear.

Artur Korchagin (1884-1958) was the General Secretary of the National People's Party from 1941-1958 and the Chairman of the Presidium of the Supreme People's Assembly from 1937-1954, he was a hardline Stalinist and Marxist-Leninist, he became known for his further restriction of civil rights and him making more crimes result into long sentences in forced labor camps as well as having more opened, alongside his three 4-year plans which were based on Stalin's 5 year plans, in total not that good of a guy.

Enver Hoxha was the leader of Inner Albania from 1947-1985. He was a hardline Stalinist and anti-revisionist (also a Hoxhaist, but you can assume by the name).

He became known for isolating Inner Albania from the rest of the world and ordering the construction of various bunkers scattered across Inner Albania.

Golyna has only had one dictatorship(sort of). During the Civil War, Golyna split up into many factions, the Socialists, the Republicans(who ended up winning), some minor factions and the Junta. The Golynan Junta was supported by the British during the Civil War after the Republicans and Socialists teamed up to beat the more powerful Junta. They controlled much of The Green Coast including Callahan until the end of the war when the city was taken over by Republican forces, which ended the war. The Junta killed off ethnic and religious minorities, including Atheists, Stalarinists, Jews, Blacks, and other dissidents. The total number killed in this genocide is numbered around 15,000, more than the number of people killed in the Westlake Rebellion(including civilians).

Aside from the current dictatorship, we had a very Pol Pot like dictator who forced everyone out of the cities, banned money and education, and killed off 1/3 of the population. The survivors live in trauma, that only continues due to the current government’s glorification of him

I believe it was Douglas MacArthur’s dictatorship in the late 60’s.

He was the one that authorized the Socialist Extermination Camps, led many Socialists to them with false promises, and was similar to Hitler with policies. He was a terrible leader that, luckily, only lasted a year in late 1968 to late 1969. This time was the Troubles Time, when the Rockefeller Dynasty had no clear heir, since Rockefeller II never had a son or daughter that was truly in the line of succession.
A power struggle occurred between MacArthur and the Rockefeller’s. Eventually, the Rockefellers won out, placing Nelson Rockefeller on the throne.

MacArthur was executed after a public trial on July 4, 1971, via Firing Squad, after he was found guilty of Crimes against Humanity, Crimes against Peace, Conspiracy, and Treason.

During the great Coyphus war, the Empire of Dashia took over and occupied Ethensia for a year. During that year, the leader who was put in charge of Dashia’s colony in Ethensia, Morcant Cúán had his army slaughter the Ethensian population for a long time, and sending the native Burodans in Ethensia to camps, where they would possibly face execution. Luckily the next year, Radnorian armies invaded Carlton, Ethensia, taking back the land that Dashia had invaded. Ethensia gained independence from Radnor- on the 23rd of August, 1990.
