Long ago, around 3000 BCE, the human world Terra was governed by ancient beings of tremendous power. These beings called themselves the Theses. The humans called them gods. For thousands of years the Theses abused their advanced psionic power to bend the wills of mortals to their whims, oftentimes the mortals even fought petty wars between the Theses. The Theses existed until the arrival of the Skarans from the Hydraic Empire in 1092 CE. Upon their arrival, the Skarans immediately sought a way to nullify and banish the Theses. They succeeded.
----------<<CUTSCENE>>----------
THE HOLY ROMAN EMPIRE, 1101 CE
"Salve, Professor Aurelius," the acolyte panted, having sprinted all the way to.the research center.
"Salve, Marcus. What news?" Professor Aurelius, a middle-aged man, arose from his seat and turned to look at the young man.
Marcus's face lit up. "Professor, they have found a most ancient tablet. Inscribed upon it is a potent spell that is used to render a being devoid of power."
Aurelius beamed. "My boy, this is wonderful news! You have had the other acolytes finish transcribing the scroll of banishing?" This spell was the easiest to acquire, as the Theses had often banished lesser beings and mortals to the Netherealm.
"Yes, Professor," replied Marcus.
"Begin deciphering the tablet. I must gather my most potent materials to forge this spell."
-----5 Years Later-----
Aurelius stood clad in golden armour before a 15-foot tall ethereal being.
"You are the god called Thor?" Aurelius shouted to it.
The These turned to glare at Aurelius. "Yes," it replied in a male Scandinavian accent.
Aurelius immediately launched into the complex void spell: "Aeshl vlronik aquntriolish undharishc voldenhein..."
Cringing, the These began to coalesce into the shape of a human mortal with a warhammer. Just as it finished coalescing, it raised its hammer and prepared to rush Aurelius when Aurelius finished: "...ilkryonitra rwed ijyaki!"
Thor stumbled, gasped, then collapsed on the ground when Aurelius shouted the banishing spell. This one was simple, it comprised of 4 words: the keystone, the password, the destination, and the object.
With a wink of light, Thor was gone.
-----------<<END CUTSCENE>>----------
The rest of the Theses were dispatched in similar ways, and the humans emerged triumphant with only minor casualties. They thanked their saviors, the Skarans, and begged them to stay, but since war was brewing back home, the Skarans had to leave, and over time, were forgotten. The Theses, however, were not; they made sure of that.
Now it is nearly 10 millennia later; the year is 10,986 CE.
And the Theses are back.
====================
Welcome to Vengeance of the Primordials. This is a sci-fi/fantasy type roleplay, with strict/specific limitations on technology and magic. The idea is to either aid the Theses Entities or to assist the Taurans (humans+allies) or if you are just in it to wreck everyone (I know there's at least someone who wants to do that!). I myself will be roleplaying as the leader of the Tauran Resistance as well as the Theses themselves. Essentially, this is a PvE roleplay with cool magic *yay*.
Rules:
- Don't attract the mods -_-
- My word is law
