Congratulations! You're hired! Welcome to God, Incorporated, well okay that's just a little gimmick we made for the boss man upstairs. To you humans we're known as Celestial Technologies and Development or CTD for short. Now I know you have a lot of questions so I'll just spill the beans for ya! You're dead! You died, somehow, for whatever reason. Hit by a bus, heart attack, stepped on a landmine. Whatever, its all good, the problem is that there is this standing bet. Ya know...well...between the big man and the rascal down stairs. A wager for all the souls of mankind. Winner take all. If you'll notice one of our biggest competitors is Morningstar Technologies, how original am I right sheesh---anyhow the catch is no direct involvement unless its preventing people from rigging things in their favor or blowing up the Earth. So this is were you guys and gals come in! Huzzah! Exciting I know by the confused looks on your faces. You all are agents err I mean field technicians for the company, your job is to prevent and contain supernatural threats, and hopefully not dying again. No fun I'm sure. So...any questions? Concerns?-Gabriel, Archangel and HR Manager.

The Setting

The current chronological year is 2057 with humanity having progressed heavily. Technology run amok and while the geopolitical landscape is mostly stable the age old issues still abound, along with some new ones. Cybernetics and robots are available for those who can afford them, and vary in quality, with near fully sentient A.I. filling many roles. Well manicured landscapes so pristine in beauty are literal heavens for the upper classes, while those in poverty live in abject squalor, with gangs often fighting vicious block wars before the authorities can intervene. The caveat of all this is that supernatural beings whether passive or aggressive also are in the mix. Some are quite friendly and will help you, others are neutral, then there are the blokes who straight up want to murder your arse for looking at them funny.

You will be based out of the company headquarters in New York City, on 5th Avenue, at the CTD Main Office building in Manhattan. You'll be fitted with accommodations in the form of a communal penthouse on the top floor. A private parking garage on Sub-Level 1, with everything you'll need being supplied to you by the company. In return you will be expected to be on call 24/7. That's a lot of overtime.

The Role Play

You've been resurrected from whatever had killed you before. Murder, suicide, natural causes, you name it. But for whatever quality or reason you possess you're here, a new employee for Celestial Technologies and Development as a specialist team. The exact definition of which is in a mostly---practically all grey area. Your job is to work as a team to prevent, contain, and destroy supernatural threats to Humanity and the Earth in general. Given the setting you may obtain technological and supernatural aid, God does hear your prayers after all, he just can't come in every time you've got your panties in a bunch; which, on another note means you may want to think things through. Character deaths can very well occur and I won't shirk away from doing so. So think twice before taking on a pack of Werewolves by yourself with a rusty spoon.

Biography:

Born on December 24th, 2028 to a pair of farmers in Wyoming. Living in the shadow of the Rockies John worked as a farmhand when he could walk, drove a tractor by age 12, and could strip down a rifle expertly before even that. Often going on hunting trips, camping vacations, and spending days at the family lodgings near the Tetons. When John was 16 he got a job at the local garage, going under the tutelage of the mechanics there, and while not being adept at school got good enough grades to enter College. Attending Montana State University the young John eventually gravitated to Forensics and completed an intensive course in the Texas School system following his attainment of a BA in Psychology by the age of 23. Quickly getting a job with the FBI and stationed in Los Angeles as a field agent examining crime scenes. However, things went awry during a terrible shoot out that claimed many innocent lives. The young John engaged the gunmen, having been closest to the area, in an attempt to save children; managing to kill one before being shot several times in the chest. Dying on the cement as reinforcing law enforcement arrived. His funeral was held in his home state of Wyoming the following weekend.

The very next day, he awoke in a chair wearing his leather jacket and dress clothes. A fair faced man sitting before him smiling. Gabriel. Saying he'd been recruited to work for Celestial Technologies and Development as a field technician. By technician that meant squaring down literal demons. After three years of surviving he now would find himself surrounded by new team mates as the world keeps churning.

Decided on joining his friend Thomas "Tommy" Jones on a start-up company after university and decided "Hey, why not I work behind the scenes, be a co-founder and contribute to probably 80% of the company's success?" He did succeed in the end, though Founder and CEO Mr. Jones didn't like that, and knowing that Chambers was a Don Juan, asked a girl to poison his drink during what they would call "His Last Advance".

It's not based on a specific film. But it certainly draws from various pieces of modern and classical literature and film while being set in a futuristic society. Such inspiration includes: Classical mythology, medieval scripture, Constantine (and hellblazer comics), Dredd (Judge Dredd), Asimovian and Ghost on the Shell robotics/cybernetics, Ergo Proxy and certain esoteric tones about the meaning of life and why is it worth fighting for.

Obviously it's quite the mix across numerous genre. Hopefully to make it relatable and also fun with plenty of room for creative expression.

Biography:

Born on March 1st on 2028 in Anchorage, Alexandra showed her knack on modeling since she was a child and thus was pushed towards modeling path by her stage mom who carefully kept on her condition and education and career, as well as relationships. Although at first until she turned teenager she was an obedient child, by the time she reached 20 she already felt tired and extremely bored and thus wanted to be other thing. For example, she learned photography from her make-up artists and designing clothes for herself via internet and books.

By the time she was 24, she already became one of the rising stars in modeling, and able to made herself a money machine, something she sadly turned sadder about the current condition. Depressed because she cannot get out without supervision (her parents assigned a security team to watch over her 24/7 and made her went through a period of Krav Maga training) and desperate, she eventually escaped when a riot happened to be happens near the latest modeling fashion show.

For the next 5 years, and with her French degree, she worked far from United States and moved with a fake identity to Canada as a French teacher. She had a good life within her relationship as she opened herself to a man who worked for local computer shop. But as it turned he was a jealous man. So one day when she decided to hang out with her friends and there was a male friend who playfully hitting on her and despite numerous statements that she wasn't cheated, he got angry and drove his car to the group of them while they walked to the bar.

She died on the place.

Once she awoke up, she found herself with a newly-dressed clothes and a fine one. Someone, a man, named Gabriel had gave her the occupation as the field technician. He also explained demons, hell, heavens, angles, even God. A moment of confusion turned into understanding, she reluctantly jumped into the fray.

Perhaps it was a period of training and a short period of real experience before she assigned to the new team.

No, you don't need to be Catholic. Your death does not need to be martyr like. Nor do they have to be Christian which will be explained later on why God isn't so picky about what sect or denomination people are.

Biography: Rodrick was born and raised in the Hell's Kitchen neighborhood of Manhattan in New York in 1873. Rodrick was the son of a Dock Worker and his wife. Rodrick was an only child, meaning that he had no choice but to turn to the other young boys in his neighborhood for companionship, which gave him connections with the men who would one day come to become some of Manhattan's most powerful mobsters.
Rodrick joined the Irish mob as a low-tier thug at the age of 16. As he aged he was given more clout and responsibility within the organization- before eventually coming to be the owner of several key estates including multiple apartment buildings, as well as an informal control of part of the Port through the criminal elements of the organization he worked for. All things do however come to an end, as Rodrick learned the hard way when another lieutenant in the gang began working with corrupt officials to bring down the organization so that said lieutenant could seize control of Manhattan. Rodrick died under mysterious circumstances around the same time that many of his childhood friends also found themselves in jail cells and caskets.
