I also encourage you all to tell people if you would vote for them and how you feel about their ideas. Here are mine:
-Legalize all drugs. This will cause drug gangs to either retaliate against me because they don't want competition from anyone capable of producing the drugs or they will try to work within the system thus making them less dangerous and causing them to have to pay taxes.
-Legalize prostitution and gambling, abolish most zoning laws, legalize all nonviolent crime except for tax evasion, consumer/labor laws, driving laws, and property crime.
-End all military presence on foreign soil, abolish foreign aid to any countries without a major poverty problem (including Israel). End the selective service/draft system.
-In debating gay marriage and polygamy nobody proposes the third option: take the government out of marriage entirely. This means churches can marry based on their own rules though you could also hire people to do a secular ceremony and type up your own marriage certificate in MS Word, and that would be equally valid.
-Provide healthcare and college education as public services. Turn high schools into vocational schools (in real life many won't use skills they learned past middle school so perhaps encouraging things like auto shop, coding classes, and ROTC would be helpful).
-End the patent system and reduce copyrights to 15 years with expanded fair use (so Windows XP and Star Trek Enterprise would be going into public domain about now). Monopolies only discourage innovation while making knockoff products seems to be a very lucrative business for China.
-Provide for all essential basic needs (food, shelter) as public services. This can be done by expanding existing public housing and food stamp systems. Provide and encourage the use of publicly funded birth control and abortions at all stages of pregnancy because first of all those who don't want to be parents probably shouldn't be and secondly it is cheaper than providing welfare for those children in the long run.
-Reform prisons to separate people in for crimes like armed robbery or murder from people in for things like tax evasion as not to teach people to become violent criminals themselves. Abolish the death penalty and cap prison sentences at 15 years except for those who are so insane in a physically dangerous way that they pose too much of a threat to society.
-Have a right to bear arms and for people to defend themselves with said guns.
-Make the citizenship process far easier by letting anyone fill out a simple form and having no more to it than that. Most people can easily become a citizen in a matter of hours if not minutes.
-Have a "luxuries sales tax" (applies to high-end cars, mansions, etc; also drugs and organized prostitution) and a very progressive income tax. No other sales tax. Close tax loopholes.
-Have minimum wages adjusted based on the cost of living in given areas. Abolish minimum wage exceptions for tipped workers to end the tipping system.
