Most Popular TV Show in YN

Postby Uttland » Mon Oct 24, 2016 9:04 am

What is the most popular TV show in your nation? What is it called and give a brief synopsis.

3 Quick rules to keep this civil:
1. Don't get too into detail where it's over PG-13.
2. Also try to avoid over PG-13.
3. Whatever other forum rules there are.
4. Have Fun! :)

My most popular tv show:

Kreutcester PD: Special Victims Division
This shows follow a unit known as the Special Victims Division as they solve crimes involving women, children, and the elderly. The show particularly follows detectives Gloria Kassmeyer (Briana Battle) and Israel Afolayan (Ten-G). It receives high ratings every season, and good reviews every episode.

PS: Try to avoid real life shows!

Braecs are fond of popular Netflix, now TV and other shows such as Game of Thrones, Breaking Bad (and Better call Saul), Stranger Things, House of cards, Narcos etc.

We are also very fond of classic comedies from the UK such as Dad's Army, Only Fools and Horses and Faulty Towers.

Young people also seem to be fond of newer US comedies such as Family Guy, South Park and Bordertown.

Obligatory pro/anti stuff:
PRO: Individualism, classical liberalism, free market capitalism, libertarianism, secularism, egalitarianism, meritocracy, Royalism, Euroscepticism, freedom of expression, British values, MLK, Israel, Russia(not in Ukraine), Syria, Kurdistan, YPG, Peshmerga

ANTI: Collectivism, communism, socialism, Marxism, Leninism, Maoism, Trotskyism, syndicalism, anarchism, racism, religious fundamentalism(mainly Islamic), identity politics, social engineering, SJWs, feminism, BLM, Antifa, EU, multiculturalism, mass immigration, Turkey, Saudi-Arabia, Iran, FSA, ISIS, Al Qaeda, Hamas, Hezbollah, Anime

For many years the most popular TV show in Fatatatutti was reruns of The Flintstones but recently they have been surpassed by Alphonse and Fish, the adventures of everybody's favorite duck and fish. Alphonse has an endless supply of Army buddies who need his help, though he inevitably makes matters worse rather than better, and Fish renews his bus pass on an almost daily basis.

Our longest-running TV show is the soap opera The Fishingtons, with a purported 90,000 episodes.

The most popular TV show is The Hammers, our version of Fox News. The main point of the news is to tell the people about what our man in power is doing, and what the rest of the world is doing. The Hammers is running for their money as another show called "Jeff the Eagle" is becoming popular. "Jeff the Eagle" is a simple kids show on the style of comedy of season one Spongebob. It is also the only animated show that isn't propaganda.

Big Brother Vescus
It's a combo between Celebrity Big Brother Vescus and Big Brother Vescus, just it goes into details that aren't exactly PG-13.
Welcome to Vescus, a capitalist nation famed for its incredibly tolerant and chilled out citizens, work ethic, efficiency that means public transport is always on time to the second, mining of asbestos, diversity, and openness towards refugees. The current year is 2037.

These below are indeed my political views
Pro: Anarchic-Capitalism, Using torture on prisoners, Gary Johnson, EU, Scottish Independence, Privatisation, Thatcher, Libertarianism, Cannabis legalisation, Immigration, LGBTQ+, Switzerland, Australia, Germany, The Netherlands, Singapore.
Anti: Left wing, prisoners getting the vote, Hillary, Free Healthcare, Corbyn, Communism, Authoritarianism, "Sin Tax", SJWs and third wave feminists, France, Russia.

According a survey of the Governmental Office for Statistics, the Netflix-Original House of Cards is the most popular TV-series in GI-Land.
It has its prime time spot on national TV (BUS TV, Monday-Friday 20:15 h, right after the news), when there are new episodes. Every Saturday at 22:15 h and Sunday 22:15 and around 23 h, BUS TV broadcasts a repetition.
Of course, Netflix and Amazon Prime are very popular in GI-Land too.

Also popular is the format "King plays" (Original title), where our Leader and King is broadcasting Let's Plays, which he uploaded on YouTube too, on national TV for the older audience or just for those, who are too lazy to click on YouTube. Currently he played Life Is Strange and Splatoon. The number of spectators were never higher before.

Of Course our natioanl news broadcaster "GIN" is also very popular with its high quality news shows and documentaries.
Sports like football (I mean soccer, you Americans) are broadcasted by "BUS TV Sports" and get every weekend (at least) their audience of minimum a million.

Most Popular Channel: EBG, Erutenian Broadcasting Group
Most Popular Show: Power Rangers and Family Guy

Note: foreign shows are surprisingly Popular, because before the 2nd Federation there was only Erutenian-made shows, of which by that time they had low budget.
ATTENTION: THE ERUTENIAN FEDERATION IS BEING REMODELED, STAY IN THEIR HOMES AND FOLLOW ANY ORDER GIVEN BY THE POLICE OR AUXILIARY UNITS. I REPEAT...

Classic sitcoms such as 'Are You Being Served?' and 'Keeping Up Appearances' still draw in audiences by the millions and are known to be a guilty pleasure of the younger generations. Game shows such as 'Family Fortunes' and 'Catchphrase' which are televised on Sunday evenings prove remarkably popular, whilst documentaries about the history of Victoria also draw in large audiences. Imported shows from abroad do not, traditionally, prove popular among Victorian audiences. The weekly broadcast of "Prime Minister's Questions" on Wednesday lunchtimes on VBC One also draws in average audiences of 1.5 - 2.5 million people, whilst the annual State Opening of Parliament, in which the government's agenda for the year ahead is set out, draws in an audience of around 5 million and the annual budget and Autumn statements usually get audiences of around 4 million and 2 million, respectively.

The Professor is widely considered the most popular TV series in Gandoor.

The series is a science-fiction program similar to Doctor Who (although fans of it will be quick to point out that it predates Doctor Who by five years, so it is not a rip-off) that was originally about The Professor and Jo, two survivors of a planet that had been completely wiped out, who travelled through space battling aliens and monsters, while recruiting help from humans, some of whom would travel with them. The title character of the series itself died in 2019, due to the retirement of his actor, with the title of Professor being passed to Jo. The series originally ran from 1958 to 1997 (with a hiatus between 1967 and 1969) and was revived in 2011 and has continued to run to the present day.

As of the current date (25 October 2021), The Professor has aired for 52 programmes (seasons/series for non-Gandoorese), 973 episodes, and four specials.
