Magic: The Gathering Discussion

Postby Khorsabad » Thu Sep 29, 2016 12:55 am

Not exactly sure if anyone here plays, but here's a thread anyway

I've been playing magic since return to ravinca.
I am a modern player. I usually play with an affinity deck, and right now I'm working on finishing a bogles deck.

My favorite planeswalker is a tie between Tezzeret and Karn

I was at the prerelease for Kaladesh and the new cards made me want to play standard so badly; ALL OF THOSE ARTIFACTS (They are the only reason I started playing modern.)

I didn't pull anything too amazing. But i had a fun time building decks and experiencing these new cards. It was the first prerelease I had gone to since Theros came out.
The card shop I go to is having another sealed event coming up and I plan on going, even though I don't plan on playing standard.

Magic is a great way to spend your time if you have nothing else to do imo

Say something about your experience as a magic player. What kind of decks are you using currently, or who is your favorite planeswalker?

Happy posting

One day, when i'm rich* I want to get all the cards from MtG.

I love the card art they use. What's the new set like anyways?

Maaan, I play Boros a lot. Boros is the best and you know it. :^) I also play a blue-white spirit deck that's based around buffing each spirit I get with the Drogskol captain. My favorite planeswalker forever will always be

I haven't played in awhile because I don't have a playgroup anymore but I still have my huge collection and all my decks. Looks like not many people here play MTG, too bad, it's a lot of fun!

I'm an old school 2nd edition player. Doubt I'd know what is going on with whatever new fangled generation it is now.

Ah, dark ritual. I love that sacrifice deck, blood artist combo with the sacs is pretty funny and cheeky. And with that infinite life gain, you could add that one Valkyrie card that returns things to the battlefield if it dies. With the right cards, it can be more infinity!
Nice decks tho

Thank you!!!

I have to say, that black sac deck, once it gets going, it's very fun to play with! lol I used to have big mana cards but I found that playing with small mana cards were better to fit the combos I wanted.

Which Valkyrie card are you talking about? If it's something that would make that deck more annoying, I'm all for it haha

The Adarkar Valkyrie, that card is white, tap to bring in something that died. Teardrop Kami is blue, but whenever a creature dies you untap or tap something. So then you untap Adarkar Valkyrie and then tap to bring in a creature that died, INFINITE LIFeEEE. If there's an artifact card that untaps stuff when something dies, that'd be better for the deck

I don't actively play anymore (once every few months on average I'd say) but I used to play a lot more, several times a week. Got fed up with the bullshit second hand markets (and WoCs pandering to them) and the money based attitude they feed.

Magic? Don't you mean to say: 'New generation Heroscape'?
A confederation of three nations and their Arctic territory, currently torn apart by competing interests.
Calendôr is in the GU heartland, located along the Green River. Francophone, it is the most urban nation. Dominated by boreal forests.
Urlistan covers the west coast and mouth of the Green River. English speaking, it is a rocky country based with industry and culture based around the sea. Currently under the control of the Arcadian Empire.
Arasland is a large northern landmass dominated by rocky forests and, above the treeline, tundra. Speaking several dialects of Emerstarian and Arcadian German, and culturally dominated by small family clans.

Ah, another one of these. Sadly not enough activity to sustain one big MTG thread.

Anyway, I've played since 2010. I played standard from then up until Theros came out, and I don't really have regrets about not going back. It was too much of a hassle to keep updating decks every year. I played mostly just EDH and limited with friends up until around June 2015, when I got into Modern. Great format, very fun. In that I play Knightfall and a BG landfall deck of my own making.

Lack of voice chat seems to make play a bit burdensome.

It has a text chat, stop being picky lol. It's a platform to play and create decks.

I'm not very good, but I enjoy playing decks with red, white, and green in it.

A while ago, I was playing with an expert. They were running a very powerful deck. My only remaining creature was super weak. So, I strapped every artifact I could on it and had it do a grand total of about 3 damage. The creature I had attacked had somewhere around a 100 defense.

I lost, surprisingly.

Stuff like that isn't even all that rare. For example there's tons of infine combos out there.

I have about twenty decks, but only a few are legal (modern). I play causal mostly.

I have a Red-White-Blue Defender/Mill Deck (called the Donald Trump Deck; it's all walls), a five color eldrazi, a blue/white counter and a white/green life gain (with Ajani and Felidar Sovereign).

My only real deck for years has been mono black tribal vampire deck. I planned on building a combo elf deck for legacy and even had a budget version picked out but it turned out the shipping of the cards would have cost about as much as the cards themselves so I dropped it.

I haven't played Magic in years, but I have a rainbow artifact deck that was fun to play, even if it wasn't particularly good.
