WELCOME TO THE NATION-STATES ISLAND GAMES!

What are the Nation-States Island Games?
The Nation-States Island Games is a 9-day tournament full of sporting events. We are similar to the rest of the "Games" that go on in other nations, but we focus on the island nations of Nation-States.

Who can participate?
Anyone can participate, as long as your nation is an ISLAND NATION (archipelago nations count as island nations)! If you would like to participate, there is an application down below.

How will the scoring work?
For those who want to participate, here's how the scoring will work. For sports except football, you'll have to rank your athletes from 1 to 10. You can not have more than two athletes with a rank of 10. From there, random.org will be used to determine the medalists for each event. For example, if one athlete is ranked 10, then they have 10 entries in the generator. For football, the CNFIFA Football Match Generator will be used.

Who's hosting the tournament?
United Bermuda is hosting the 1st Annual NS Island Games. If you would like to host the next edition, there is a host nation application below.

2016 NS Island Games Opening Ceremony

Hello everyone! Welcome to the Opening Ceremony coverage of the 1st Annual Nation-States Island Games! We are at the Bermuda National Stadium in Devonshire Parish, which is close to the capital city Hamilton. Before we go to the Opening Ceremony, let's take a look at a brief history of the idea of the Island Games. Originally, the idea came about by non other than United Bermuda himself. Then, another nation set up their own Island Games too. The two nations compromised and now we have a united Island Games idea! Seven nations are competing in these Island Games, and hopefully they'll all win medals, but at the same time learn a lesson. Now, let's go to the Ceremony!

Introduction
The Ceremony begins with a countdown,10..9..8..7..6..5..4..3..2..1..ZERO! Fireworks began to shoot out all across the island. After the fireworks ended, the United Bermuda Royal Marching Band began to enter the stadium. Four of their members are carrying the flag of United Bermuda. The members are now carrying the flag to a flagpole on a side of the stadium. They stopped marching and stood right next to the flagpole. "Ladies and gentlemen, please stand for the National Anthem of United Bermuda". Here's the link to the anthem, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H89-tx3yee0. The spectators clap and return to sitting down. Another announcement comes on, "Ladies and gentlemen, please welcome the Island Games President, Mr. Island Games and the President of the 2016 NS Island Games Host Committee and Premier of United Bermuda. Mr. Robert Dunkley". The two leaders start to enter the stadium and walk to their seats in the center. Robert Dunkley is waving to the crowd of spectators.

Bermudian History
After the leaders take their seats, the Ceremony moves on to a part about the history of United Bermuda. An old Spanish ship enters the stadium with an actor that looks like explorer Juan de Bermudez, who the island is named after. He settled on a beach and named it "the Isle of Devils". He did not settle the island, however, but instead discovered it. Soon after, an English ship entered the stadium and landed on the same "virtual beach" as the Spanish did. Sir George Somers jumped onto the beach from the ship and started a settlement. The old capital of St. George's was also settled as the beach got bigger until it became the Bermuda we know and love. Bermuda was then zoomed out to show the whole Bermuda Triangle. A small ship entered the stadium and went to the middle of the triangle, where it got "shipwrecked". On the virtual screen, it zoomed back to Bermuda and the crowd was shown the timelapse of the settlement of Hamilton, the new capital of United Bermuda. After that, an old Englishmen walked up to Bermuda and pitched a Bermudian flag. Everyone cheered. Then in 2001, that Bermudian flag was "unpitched" and instead replaced with a red flag to show the Bermudian Revolution. A crowd of modern Bermudians ran to the scale model of the Bermudian Sessions House holding flags of the USSR. They threatened to burn the whole building if they did not get what they wanted. Then a small screen popped up on the virtual screen with then Premier Jennifer Smith announcing the success of the Bermudian Revolution and the change of the government to Socialism. Alex Scott then took power for the new Socialist Party and eventually Robert Dunkley. After the Revolution scene, the Bermudian flag was pitched again. The crowd cheered and there were fireworks all throughout the stadium.

Parade of Nations
"Ladies and gentlemen, the participating nations of the 1st Annual NS Island Games"! The participating teams start to march into the stadium with Bermudian dancers dancing along their side. The teams will enter in English alphabetical order. The first team to enter the stadium is Baltin. Baltin participated in the UKN Confederations Cup. He is now a member of the Republic of Free States and now left the United Kingdom of the Netherlands. He has a confident team and hopefully they can win a lot of medals. The next nation to enter the stadium is Fjorsland. Fjorsland has seventy athletes competing in these Games and I wish them all good luck in the events they're competing in. The next nation is Grenskland. Grenskland's Dafina Skop is competing in three Athletics events at these Games, you never know, she might win a medal in all three of her events!
Next is the Isle of Faru. Faru is only competing in eleven events, but just might come out on top in one of them. Isle of Mön is next. Even though they have a small team, they all have very big passion for sports. The second to last nation to enter the stadium is the Salmor Islands. Salmor Islands' Martina Saboc is competing in the road race. She is strong hopeful and has the courage to race to the point that she is on the podium. Finally, the nation that everyone is waiting, the HOST NATION OF THE ISLAND GAMES, UNITED BERMUDA, is entering the stadium with a giant Bermudian flag. United Bermuda has the biggest team at the Island Games, and are competing in every event. Even events that no other nation is competing in, like the Town centre criterium race. All of the Bermudian athletes are waving to the spectators proudly. Fireworks once again shoot out all around the stadium and Hamilton.

The Finale/Cauldron Lighting
After the Parade of Nations, modern dancers wearing pink Bermuda shorts enter the stadium. They start to dance to Bermudian music. All of a sudden, a big group of Gombey dancers enter the stadium. The crowd cheers. They all start to dance to the same Bermudian song. Halfway through, the music abruptly stops. A bright orange light enters the stadium. It is the NS Island Games torch. There was a Torch Relay on the island during the day and has finally made it to the National Stadium. A big cheer comes from the crowd. The torch bearer runs a lap around the stadium and runs on a flight of stairs to the top of the stadium where the cauldron is. He waits ten seconds and then lights the cauldron. Success! The crowd cheers and there are once again fireworks. The fireworks go on while the Gombey dancers and modern dancers go back to dancing. Near the end of the song, the dancers make a big circle with the letters "UB" in the center. The song ends and the crowd stands up and cheers. More fireworks go off across the island. "This concludes the Opening Ceremony. Have a good day"!

Nunn Island (official not participating in the games) but participate as part of Salmor Islands. Nunn Island participate only in the football events. Because they are member of the IFA( Islands Football association) The Nunn Island wants to participate in the next edition as official NS Island games member.

The first matches of the football event are played. The first match was between United Bermuda and Nunn Island. United Bermuda scored the first goal in the 55 minute. Hello everyone! Welcome to Day 1 of the 1st Annual NS Island Games in United Bermuda! Today's coverage will be of the Men's Individual Mountain Bike Criterium race at the Bermuda Arboretum in Devonshire Parish. Let's go now to the venue for the start of the race. Hello again! We are now at the Bermuda Arboretum. This is one of Bermuda's National Parks. It's a vast expanse of meadows and forest with a wide variety of trees and shrubs.
Let's take a look at the participants:
Jordan Minsdon (BER)
Michael Long (BER)

So it's three participants from the host nation, three participants from the Isle of Faru, and one participant from Baltin. Let's wish them the best of luck!

Race
And they're off! Heading into the National Park. They are currently going around the park towards Fort Hill Road. In the lead is Michael Long of United Bermuda. In 2nd place is Jordan Minsdon and third is Gurlö from the Isle of Faru. Hello and welcome back to the Day 2 coverage of the Island Games!

Right now, we have coverage of the Men's Floor and Vault SET events at the National Training Center at the Bermuda National Stadium Sports Complex. Let's go there! We are now at the National Training Center in Devonshire Parish, where the Bermudian crowd is about to get heated up when the first Gymnastics events begin. The first event that will take place is the Men's Floor SET event. Here is how the event scoring works. The performance of the gymnast will be scored by official judges on a rank of 1 to 10. The same will be for the Vault SET event. Here is a list of the participants for both events:
Floor:
Kevin Macintosh (BER)
Stefano Gordon (BER)
David Villingham (BER)
Vince Mucci (BAL)

Vault:
Kevin Macintosh (BER)
John Simon (BER)
Henry Lucker (BER)
Vince Mucci (BAL)
So, it's three Bermudian athletes in Floor and Vault. With Kevin Macintosh and Baltin's Vince Mucci competing in both events.

Men's Floor SET:
Here's the start of the Men's Floor event. Kevin Macintosh is up, and he gets a big cheer from the crowd. His first jump was perfect. The crowd cheers. Another jump, spot on. His finale, a slight slip with the jump but that's ok. He gets another big cheer from the crowd. His final score was 9.150. Let's see if that's enough for the gold medal. Stefano Gordon is next. His first jump, spot on. His next one, a little off to the side. His final jump, perfect. He gets a score of 8.850, which makes him 2nd place at the moment. David Villingham is the last Bermudian up. He tries to give it his all. Unfortunately, he fell hard on his first jump, but got back up. His second jump, off to the side. His final jump was perfect. He gets a cheer from the crowd. His score is 5.015. Finally, Vince Mucci of Baltin is up. His first jump, spot on. His second jump, spot on again. His final jump, amazing! He gets a cheer from ten Baltin fans in the stands. His score is a PERFECT TEN! Vince Mucci wins Baltin's first gold medal and medal overall at the Games! Vince Mucci is crying tears of joy! He wraps himself up in the flag of Baltin. He gets a standing ovation from the entire venue. Here are the final results for Men's Floor SET at the National Training Center:

1st: Vince Mucci (BAL) - 10.000
2nd: Kevin Macintosh (BER) - 9.150
3rd: Stefano Gordon (BER) - 8.850

Men's Vault SET:
Later on after the Floor SET Medal Ceremony, was the Men's Vault SET event. John Simon is up first. His jump into the air is on time. One spin, two spins, a twist, and his landing is slightly off balanced. His score is 9.650. Kevin Macintosh is up next. His jump was on time. He did a spin, then another, and OH NO! He fell face first. That is NOT GOOD AT ALL! Let's see what the judges say about that. They give him a score of 5.610. That is not enough for 1st place so far. He is crying tears, but not tears of joy. After that incident, Vince Mucci is next. He gets another standing ovation from the crowd. He gives it his all. His jump is perfect. Makes one spin and a twist. His landing was a bit off to the side but it's enough for second place with a score of 9.540. Finally, Henry Lucker is up. His jump was perfect. He did four spins and two twists, which no one else did. His landing...SPOT ON! His score was 9.800, which is enough to make him the Island Games Vault Champion! And look at the crowd cheer! He is running around the venue waving the flag of United Bermuda. He made his home nation proud! Here are the final results for Men's Vault SET at the National Training Center:

1st: Henry Lucker (BER) - 9.800
2nd: John Simon (BER) - 9.650
3rd: Vince Mucci (BAL) - 9.540

So United Bermuda now has a total of four medals in Gymnastics, with Baltin's Vince Mucci winning a Gold medal and Bronze medal in Vault SET and Floor SET.

Football at day 3


The first match of today was between United Bermuda and the Salmor Islands. after the first half United Bermuda scores the 1-0 in the 55 minute. The final result United Bermuda 1 Salmor Islands 0. The second match of today in group A was between Nunn Island and Grenskland. After a 3-0 losse against the Salmor Islands is the first and only option to win this match and they did't it with an 1-0 victory for Grenskland.

Also a lot of action in group B. The Isle of Faru was playing against Fjörsland but both team did not score. Final result Isle of Faru 0 Fjörsland 0. The last match of today was between the Isle of Mön and Baltin. both teams have losse in there first group matches. So they have to battle for the points. In the first half Baltin was the strongest team on the field but after the first half the Isle of Mön scores so 1-0 victory for the Isle of Mön.

Good evening! Welcome to the Day 2 coverage of the 1st Annual Nation States Island Games in United Bermuda!

Today's coverage to later than usual due to the commentator now back in school. He can only do late broadcasts during school days. However, he is off next Monday for Columbus Day, so he will be able to do an early morning broadcast of the Games. Anyway, let's do an overview of tonight's events. Starting with the Women's Floor and Vault SET events at the National Training Center, followed by the start of Men's Beach Volleyball at Horseshoe Bay later on. For now, let's go back to the National Training Center in Devonshire Parish.

Women's Floor SET
Welcome back to the National Training Center! Right now, we are about to witness the start of the Women's Floor SET event. Here is a friendly reminder of how the athlete's performance is scored. The performance is scored by official judges on a scale of 1 to 10, with 10 being the best. The same will be for the Vault SET event. Let's take look at the participants:
Melinda Bowes (BER)
Jessica Peters (BER)
Mary Fenderson (BER)
Elizabeth Garrett (BER)

So it's United Bermuda...and no one else is competing. So that means United Bermuda will win all three medals in this event today. But the question is, who? Melinda Bowes is first. First jump, off to the side. Next jump, perfect. Final jump, a bit off to the side. The score, 8.895. Jessica Peters is next. First jump, perfect. Next jump, spot on. Final jump, amazing! Final score, 9.999! AMAZING! Jessica is currently in the lead! Mary Fenderson is next. First jump, perfect. Second jump, oh no! She tripped herself! The judges noticed her fall. Her final jump, bit off to the side. Final score, 6.650. Elizabeth Garrett is the last one up. First jump, perfect. Next jump, perfect. Final jump, made it but a bit wobbly. Final score, 9.880. And that makes Jessica Peters the Women's Floor Island Games Champion! Everyone in the crowd is waving a United Bermuda flag with excitement! Jessica Peters is crying and running to her coach. She is happy. Here are the final results:

2nd: Elizabeth Garrett (BER) - 9.880
3rd: Melinda Bowes (BER) - 8.895

And the trio wins three more medals for United Bermuda! Great Job! Now, let's now go to the Women's Vault SET event after the Floor event.

Welcome to the Women's Vault SET event. Let's take a look at the participants:
Jessica Peters (BER)
Emma Lee (BER)
Victoria King (BER)

United Bermuda is once again the only nation competing. This time, there's only three gymnasts competing. The questions are, who will win the gold medal and in what order? Victoria King is first. Her jump is on-time. When she's in the air, she can only do a spin. Her landing is on time. The score, 8.810. The favorite Jessica Peters is up next. She gets a standing ovation from the crowd. Her jump is on-time. She does a twist and a spin while in the air. Her landing is perfect. The score, 9.610. The crowd is cheering for her. Finally, Emma Lee is up. Her jump is on-time. She manages to do 2 spins and a twist. Her landing is spot on! Her final score, 9.899. That makes her win the Gold Medal for Women's Vault. She is waving to the Bermudian spectators, while holding a small United Bermuda flag. Jessica Peters is now shaking Emma Lee's hands. Here is the final results:
