We very much dislike it when biologicals on organic worlds dump their smelly, corrosive liquid waste outside of approved areas, especially if they do so in great numbers. Slaves can expect beatings for this. Though one individual's amount of liquid waste is trivial to beings of our size, we've noticed that letting one biological do it soon gets the whole bunch of them doing the same thing. When that happens, we're suddenly faced with loads of urine all over everything, so enforcement is strict.

On Planet Cybertron, which is not set up to accommodate biological life at all, tourists really have no choice but to dump their seemingly-neverending supply of effluent in public. We have plenty of fluid recyclers that'll handle mechanical effluent, but almost no toilets on the entire planet. Fortunately, there are so few tourists there that the amount that a single person dumps at once is likely to go unnoticed until it causes a rust spot (and by then, the tourist is long gone). Still, they are advised to at least hide in an alley, lest they be stepped on by someone who isn't paying attention to what's down at their feet.

It is very much frowned upon for robots on Cybertron to dump their used oil, antifreeze, transmission fluid, grease, hydraulic fluid, or other bodily crud in the streets. Someone caught doing so on purpose will generally be urged to move along with an energy blast set to create a level of sensation akin to an unpleasant sting. If he persists, the blasting will get more serious. Though we hold onto our fluids far longer than biologicals, when we do dump something, it's a huge amount. For example, a typical oil change generates about 500 quarts of used oil, so when it's dumped improperly, it is not a trivial mess.

Southern Frenequesta did too until the State Supreme Court found that that was an erroneous interpretation in Palmer v. State, 76 S.F. 220 (2224), and commentators are still speculating on whether other states will follow its lead. Trumpor, Oskhammer, East Jorgen, and West Jorgen also criminalize it under "disorderly conduct," but after Shuanglin and Coppland's disorderly conduct statutes were struck down for vagueness, prosecutors in other states have been reluctant to bring such cases, and debate still lingers on the type of specificity the courts want.

It is not clear why communities and states don't just make a special public urination offense. The best explanation is that it is rare enough (or at least not seen enough) that most legislators don't bother carving it out.
