The delegate from Yurizlansia, Pralop Phornprapha takes his seat, eager to hear the rundown of the situation and different viewpoints, as the occupation of Diogott has not made headlines and Yurizlansia, so he is not sure of the different view points of the situation. With him he brought a briefcase filled with paper and writing utensils to take notes, a glass of water, and a religious relic.

Toshio Kimura, the Foreign Minister of Kin Jidai, arrives and takes his seat. Like his Yurizlansian counterpart, news of the Italo-Diotian spat has not made headlines in his nation, and details of the occupation were still quite foggy. He did, however, have great confidence that his close Durlish allies would be able to make sense of this rather outlandish situation.

His Majesty's Permanent Ambassador to the League of Nations, David Gaine, leaves his seat and takes the stand before the delegates of the member-states of the League of Nations. Wearing a smart slate-coloured suit, deep blue tie, and a small Durlish flag pin on his lapel, he takes his speech from his inside pocket and places it on the stand.

Presidents, Prime Ministers, honoured delegates, ladies and gentlemen, I have been commanded by His Majesty's Government to request a meeting of this assembly today on a matter of great importance to us all; the government of the Italian Realm has taken it upon itself to declare war and invade and occupy the tiny nation of Diogott. Diogott is a sovereign state, a status that is not universally disputed, and it is one of the founding principles of this organization to protect the sovereignty of such states.

Diogott is a small state of only a few thousand, and it has survived the centuries by keeping itself to itself - it maintains isolationism and does so at the behest of its people; we may not like its lack of democracy or civil rights, but the people demand they be governed by the Grand Duke and they are being. We must understand that Diogott demands the same respect for its sovereignty as any other nation, and we must all acknowledge and respect that fact.

The Foreign Office of the United Kingdom has maintained constant conversation with its counterpart in Italy, but has not been successful in trying to influence the withdrawal of Italian troops from Diogott, and the most recent announcement is that Diogott has now been formally annexed into Italy as a municipality.

The decision to invade Diogott is a decision that I think we can all agree is something that should not happen in the modern world, and I call upon this organization to join His Majesty's Government in formally condemning the Italian government. I ask that you follow and endorse this message, so that we can all support the sovereignty of nations and governments.

Thank you.

The ambassador leaves the stand and returns to his seat.

Maria Herrera, the Secretary of state of Aztecea, arrives and takes her seat, the news of the Italio-Diogott war has been overshadowed by the Regional Conflict with Brasilia almost a year ago however the public and Government negative feeling to war should see the Aztecean Delegate to side against Italy.

The Roman delegate to the League of Nations, Trajan Ioneskou, is the next to speak, standing at his seat and addressing the assembled delegates in mildly-accented English. Italo-Byzantine relations had grown steadily closer over the past years, borne out of close cultural connections and a mutual distrust for Durlish motives in the Mediterranean, as such Byzantium would certainly side with the Italians on this issue.

"Delegates, the fate of this tiny rump of a state is of their own doing. For all the talk of isolationism and sovereignty, the whole crisis started when Diogott's soldiers opened fire on and killed more than a dozen Italians. It is hypocritical to bombard Italy for violating Diotian sovereignty when Diotian aggression and haughtiness warranted such direct action on part of the Italian government.

We cannot agree with the Durlish statement that invasions should 'not happen in the modern world'. It is to be expected of the Durlish representative to spout out such patent nonsense, when his nation has never experienced any invasion or breach of sovereignty for the past thousand years. In the eyes of the Imperial government, for Italy to invade Diogott was not only a valid action to take, but the best action for Italy to take to safeguard its own sovereignty and the safety of its people.

Byzantium cannot and will not support any initiative to condemn Italy for protecting its people from Diotian aggression."

The Roman delegate takes his seat.

Giuseppe Amondolo, the Royal Ambassador to the League of Nations rises to the podium.

"Honourable Delegates, Presidents, Prime Ministers, and Ambassadors of the League of Nations. Today, the very notion of independence and sovereignty is questioned. Italy, in her full right and honour, stood up to defend her right of existence. The tyrannical rule of Diogott's Grand Duke has gone on for too long. His orders to murder Italian soldiers, doing nothing but protecting their homeland was the last straw of the rampant despotism that Italy no longer tolerates. I am deeply saddened that the Durlish Government finds themselves on the sides of dictatorship; and on the side of the Grand Duke who ordered the death of innocent men, and who irrevocably rejected the right of independence that Italy and many nations in Europe hold so dearly. Let it be known that Italians will not cower to the will of the Durlish Government, and we will stand valiantly with our allies to protect ourselves and our people. The Italian Delegation is ever thankful to the Byzantine Delegation for standing with Italy against foreign aggression. No matter how hard nations may try to exert their dominance over us, we will rise stronger than ever before. The Italian Kingdom stands firmly resolute that we will protect ourselves, our sovereignty, and our future.

Thank you."

The Neigelandic Permanent Representative to the League of Nations, Pierre-Antoine Regnard, took his seat among the delegates of other member-states in what was likely to become a heated discussion between two long time foes. But he thought to himself about the impossibility of his position. It has been long-standing Neigelandic Government policy to oppose any violations of international law in the strongest possible terms. International law itself is enshrined into constitutional law as part of the Articles of Government. And the invasion and occupation of Diogott in this manner was a clear violation of this law and the principles it lays out. But Italy has been a longtime ally of Neigeland in helping it to return to democratic rule, and in the years after. The Italian flag even flies alongside the Neigelandic flags at the Parliament Buildings in Columbia as a tribute to the country's role in liberating the city. But simply siding with Italy was not an option either. Durland and Amany is, by all respects, Neigeland's closest ally and best friend on the world stage. Any action which could seem to undermine that would put the entire relationship - along with the new defence treaty under discussion - at risk.

Under orders from his own Government, Pierre-Antoine remained in his seat, ready to speak only when it is absolutely necessary for him to do so.

The Jerusalemite ambassador, Jean de Bouron representing the King begin speaking in front of the assembly, "On behalf of King Balian VIII we officially condemned the unlawful occupation Digetts by the Italian realms for Digetts was a neural nation with no wrong doing with Italy and what so ever. We demand that Italy withdraw their forces from Digetts and return their independence back to them." Jean de Bouron went back to his sit after his speech in front of the members of the League of Nations.

"Thank you delegates, for your remarks.

I motion that the Assembly of Nations now votes on whether it should or should not condemn the actions taken by the Italian Realm against the Grand Duchy of Diogott. Those in favour of condemnation, vote 'Aye', and those who are not, vote 'No'. May I remind delegates that a condemnation does not entail or endorse any further action taken by either the League of Nations as a whole or any of its member states."

Dean Walters, the Texan representative for the League of Nations submits his vote not to condemn Italy. Following the instructions given to him by President Matthew Alexander, Walters has remained silent throughout the session in an attempt not to fall into bad relations with nations in disagreement with the pro-Italian stance of the Republic of Texas as it could hinder negotiations in the future.
