So far, everything in the bill sounds like common sense, except the "exception" to the cyber attack provision.
The provision allows member nations to use cyber attack tactics against those they are directly in conflict with (which makes sense) or against other countries they "reasonably suspect" to pose a threat of cyber terrorism.
This is what strikes me. Reasonably suspect? You mean there doesn't have to be proof? This opens the door for countries to begin attacks on another country with no legitimate grounds, and then saying they pose a threat. Dangerous policy.
I would love to see an amendment striking this out. The rest of the bill is good except for that provision.
Can someone move to get this removed from the bill? I would hate to vote no just because of that.
