Happy National Insect Week!

Hello NSG!

It's National Insect week in the UK this week!

As someone fascinated by all kinds of animals, and an amateur biologist and zoologist, I wondered why I hadn't heard of this holiday before. I am also particularly interested in insects and invertebrates. Insects are an important part of the ecosystem of the world, after all. We need insects to survive.
But I can join in with helping promote this holiday now.

Are you do or anyone you know doing anything for National Insect week? What do you think we could do to promote this holiday?

Insects are an important of ecosystem, and the earth's biodiversity. They should be protected as much as is sensible.

Without honey bees, we'd lack many of our food products.

It is just silly that every day or week has to have some gimmick or holiday behind it. It seems that there are more events on the calendar than there ever used to be.

Where do you live? It's a biennial event in the UK. And you don't have to celebrate it if you don't want to.

Coincidentally, I sprayed insecticides all over my house this week.
