Blessing of an Anthro Prince [IC/Aurinel Only]

The walls of the Copper Ballroom stretched for nearly 50 meters on all sides, nearly perfectly square. At the far end from the door, most of the wall was massive windows gazing out over the Palace Grounds, down to the Kingsbury Reservoir, the giant artificial lake that had been cut into the heart of Kingsbury for both water supply to the city as well as for the pleasure of its citizens. The name of the ballroom was derived from its copper decorations, mined from the Spine of Aurinel and fashioned by Elven blacksmiths to take the shape of trees and river and animals, forming a flowing scene that stretched from one side of the ballroom around to the other.

The ballroom had been swarming with staff for several days, preparing the room for the arrival of so many guests. At the far end, towards the windows, two simple wooden thrones had been set up, wooden at the request of the Emperor himself, at the head of a long table for the variety of guests from across the continent of Aurinel and the Empire itself. The ceiling had been hung with two colossal banners: one the sky blue and white flag of the Empire, the other the Royal Banner of the Katchmar Dynasty. Around it, the various banners and flags of the nations that would be attending had also been hung.

Deeper into the palace, the kitchens worked overtime to prepare the quantities of food needed. The menu was as diverse as the continent itself: steaks cut from mammoths, eggs from ducks and chickens alike, the rich purple honey of the bullet bee, fine roast goose, bacon aplenty, large cuts of ham, bread made from the purest wheat, cakes and pastries made from the product of Holoskan sugar beets, soups served in the carapace of crabs, and fish trawled from all over the waters of the Empire. Indeed, it was the most luxurious food one could get in all of Aurinel, served only for special occasions in the Imperial Capital.

Overseeing it all was the Emperor himself. Or rather, he normally was, but as it was noon, he was taking a break from his duties to play the piano as he always did. His piano was a simple affair when compared to the grandeur of a lot of everything in his life. His staff had wanted a custom-built, lavishly designed piano, but he had gone out himself to pick it out. His justification? "Even the plainest of songbirds makes a beautiful melody." Mobiuz danced his hands across the keyboard, playing out a waltz before finishing with it and going on to a slightly more up tempo song, then finishing with the same song he always did: the song called "Oracion". When he had finished, he sat for a moment longer until something brushed against his legs. He bent down and smiled at the small fire ferret that was preening itself on his legs.

"Hello, Haku. I suppose I've been playing long enough, yeah?" He smiled and picked up the animal, sat it around his shoulders, and started back to the rest of the palace to see how the preparations were going. It was 2 days before the Blessing party, and it was around today that the first of his foreign guests would start arriving.

Archduke Laeroth Calzedor was a punctual elf. He detested being late, and the embarrassment that accompanied it. Thus, he was the first being to stride through the massive doors of the summer palace. He came before the Anthro Emperor and bowed swiftly.
"Greetings, your grace. It is an honour to be here today," he said.
"I am glad that you braved the storms at this time of year to get here. My attendants will lead you to your apartment," Möbius Katchmar replied with a smile.

Laeroth followed an elvish attendant up a flight of lavish marble stairs. It was queer that this Anthro Emperor had elves and men in his employ. He thanked the elf and entered his apartment. The apartment was large and well furnished, containing a central area with a table and cushioned chairs, a bedroom area with a feather bed and a dining area with a small larder. He would be comfortable here.

Soon after, an anthro with oddly rigged wings on her back glides in "Ah, it seems I'm more punctual than I thought. Greetings, Emperor. I hope you are in good health. I do not believe we have met in person before today."

The Emperor smiled warmly, speaking in his slightly throaty and rough accent that all Frostsparkers carried. "Yes, indeed. It's a pleasure to meet you, Ma'am. Welcome to the Imperial City." He took note of her wings and smiled. "What a fantastic contraption! Do you use air elemental magic to glide along? I've seen some people in this very city do that before, but over very short distances."

He smiled warmly, and the fire ferret laying around his neck yawned slightly. The Emperor opened the grand doors of the palace and lead them into the main entryway of the palace, with its soaring arches and marble columns. "Please make yourself at home. If you have anything you need, just ask a staff. I have Anthros, Elves, Draconids, Humans, and Dwarves working for me, so you're bound to find someone to talk to." Again, the same warm smile, and he started walking down the length of the corridor into the rest of the Palace.

The barque rocked from side to side as they neared the beaches of Holoska. The young emperor was still sound asleep even as the sailors shouted and the captain commanded with a deep but ear-splitting voice. He was calm as he slept, very unlike his usual eccentric self. But then he awoke.

He stood up from the pile of fabrics he was sleeping on, whisked at his coat and breeches. "Hmm..." He looked at his attire, but seemingly disappointed with his vision he walks up to a mirror nailed on the wall next to a bunch of barrels. He first looked at his whole appearance, lean but a little bit bulky, well-toned muscles prominently lined even as he dressed quite heavily. His clothes, a dark coat and breeches with a deep red waistcoat. His black cravat was fastened with a stick pin, and he wore flat boots. He wore a braided, large beard, as all Wolf Anthros did, and surprisingly neatly-combed, thick and long braided hair. He wore a scowl on his face, and he tried to grin and arrange his facial expression but still a scowl. Wolf Anthros are misunderstood to be ill-tempered all the time due to this. And as likened to Wolves, thick black fur could be seen from his neck which were also neatly-combed.

As soon as he was finished rearranging his attire and fur, he walked up the flight of stairs and reached the deck of the ship. He breathed in the winds of the sea, and he calmed himself but soon after a considerably young but dignified, well-clothed Feline Anthro shouted at him from the poop deck. "Where 'ave ye' been, yer Majesty?" She had a peculiar accent, quite unlike the Grimalkin, and not even close to the Lykos accent. But it was very soothing to the ears of Lucas, who is always lusting after new things and knowledge. After appreciating the accent of the lady captain, he moved toward the port and merely replied, "In the Ship's Hold." The captain was wide-eyed, to think the Emperor would sleep next to some smelly barrels, and cannonballs, it was a shock.

After they landed on Porthaven, the Emperor insisted by traveling on foot, and that he would only take the lady captain as a companion, the rest would be handling the equipment and also resting by the inns and the taverns.

As the two well-dressed Anthros walked through the streets of Frostspark City, the Emperor started a conversation. "What was your name again, my lady?" The lady blushed, seemingly unprepared to the eccentric behavior of her liege. She was shocked, and her crew teased her, when the Emperor called for her. Albeit awkwardly, she shook herself and slapped her two furry hands on her cheeks. "It's Cassandra, yer-" She coughed slightly, "your Majesty."

He could not hold back his chuckles which made Cassandra pout as they continued along near to their destination. Along the way to Market Chipping, Lucas unceasingly teased the lady captain, then when they finally arrived they took in the view. Just as the rumors that reached Lykouros said, a huge open market where people can sell everything and anything. They rummaged through every stall, and as if looking for a particular item the Emperor glared at each of the goods carefully. Finally reaching an accessories area, he found an item he wished to buy.

The old lady behind the stall looked over the ostensible couple, specifically at Lucas who was glaring at a pendant with a wolf emblem made of gold and diamond. "This would look good on you, sir. And even for your wife." Cassandra could no longer hide the redness of her face, she tried to repudiate the statement but she could only stutter. In the end Lucas bought the pendant then told Cassandra that they should be on their way back to the ship as it was nearing nightfall.

But as they traveled back, he suddenly and swiftly locks the pendant around Cassandra's neck. "You look beautiful." Then he simply snatched her hand and walked on while Cassandra dragged her feet as she could not comprehend the event that happened, merely that she was complimented, but no more.

After the crew teased the lady captain who was still holding hands with the Emperor, they escorted Lucas to the nearest inn. It was not as luxurious as the Warmth Palace but the Emperor had ordered them to choose the nearest one, and for it to at least be satisfactory and clean, but not necessarily grand.

That night was calm, and everyone had the good rest.

The Emperor had ordered the Imperial Maids to tend to the lady captain, more than the pendant, he also had the maids buy a brand new dress fit and lavish for his new love interest. He also had Audhovacar Ravam, one of the most powerful but loyal patrician in the Lykouros Empire, stay to study the state of the city, and also because he could only bring two companions with him to the Party.

And so he had with him Minami Hisako, and Cassandra, both looked gorgeous, and they rode onward to Kingsbury.

They arrived and immediately strode to the Copper Ballroom as they were guided by the Holoskan Emperor's servants. Then they saw him, Mobiuz.

The Lykouros Emperor swiftly appeared next to the Holoskan Emperor. "It is a pleasure to finally meet you, my friend." He reaches out for a handshake, as he looked Mobiuz in the eyes.

The Emperor of Holoska smiled warmly. "Welcome, welcome!" His accent seemed to drag a few words, but was still almost poetic. The Chimerical Anthro shook the Wolf Anthro's hand warmly, then turned to walk down the hall, motioning for the other Emperor to follow. "I met with your diplomat the other day, he seemed like a nice man." Out of nowhere, he lapsed from Holoskan to Anthraic. "Ṇdha ati, ita yra labiausiai teutā." The Holoskan Emperor hadn't seemed to notice his language. Either way, it still sounded pleasant and friendly.

He came to a door leading into a corridor. "You'll find your accommodations through here. If you need anything, just ask a staffer." He smiled. "It's so nice to see other Anthro Emperors and Queens and the like. Sometimes I wonder if our Race would be given legitimacy to reign as Emperors and Empresses if my grandmother hadn't brought Holoska to power..." He gazed off into the distance for a moment before coming back down to reality. "Where was I? Oh, yes. You'll find everything you need in there. Welcome to the Palace." He smiled and headed off once again.

'What a warm welcome' Lucas thought as he slid through the corridor and eventually finding the three rooms prepared for the Lykouros guests. He motioned for Hisako to enter her room immediately, and she complied. Then he suddenly pulled Cassandra into his room and pushed her on the bed, her heavy and unstable breathing brushed on his face as he locked her arms with his two hands. She closed her eyes, the sight of the Emperor's face so near troubled her so much that she would have struggled, that is if she didn't like him. But Lucas was not only charismatic, but seductive, and not only was he powerful, he was fair and wise, and that greatly influenced her opinion about him.

Lucas was only teasing her, once again, just as soon as she closed her eyes he released her from his grip and walked towards the door to let his personal maids in. The lady captain was still waiting, her position unchanged, but from her embarrassment, as she opened her eyes, swiftly ran towards the door hoping to leave and let be, but was caught with one arm by Lucas, who embraced her as she scuffled with her feet and with her hands covering her face.

She accidentally stepped on his foot, which caused his grip to lessen and eventually letting her go. But she didn't, "Your Majesty! I am so sorry!" she reached out and grabbed his foot to massage it, but he stopped her. "No, Cassandra, It's all right." He raised her from her awkward position then motioned at the maids. "Please undress Lady Cassandra..." He paused and took a quick look at the blushing young lady, seemingly innocent from all kinds of love affair, or perhaps she is. "in her room, please, and dress her up with the evening gown." He looks at Cassandra again, looking for another reaction, and he saw her face seemingly half glad, half disappointed.

After the troubles, and flirting Lucas engaged in, and while Cassandra was busy in her room, he went out to look for Mobiuz.

After a few minutes of walking and sightseeing, he found himself glaring at a peculiar fish tank. Inside were five small leeches that were more or less ten centimeters long. They stirred around like they were agitated. Disgusting little creatures, but fascinating as well, especially to Lucas. He motioned for the Anthro servant near the small aquarium, and inquired for some quick explanation as to what these creatures are. "Lachrymose Leeches, your Majesty." The servant, as if frequently ordered, acquired a small piece of bloody meat from a bucket nearby and proceeded to hover it on top of the fish tank. As soon as small drops of blood falls on the surface of the water, the leeches moved quite a bit quicker and it seemed like they were more agitated than before. The servant released the meat and blood coated most of the upper parts of the water. This made the leeches move so quick, twisting and turning everywhere, and like Direwolves hunting prey they quickly bit off the meat piece by piece until it was gone. Likened to Direwolves hunting, but these creatures were a lot quicker.

The Anthro servant waited for any kind of reaction from the Emperor, and he saw that he was wide-eyed, he was worried that the Emperor would be disgusted by it and perhaps shout at him, but that was not the whole of it. "That is disgustingly-" The servant readied himself. "fascinating! I would certainly like to have some of these absurd creatures!" Lucas excitedly proclaimed, and as quick as a wolf's eyes he found Emperor Mobiuz walking by and as eccentric as he is, he walked towards him in a brisk pace and exclaimed. "Hey Mobiuz, where can I get some of those leeches?"

Once again, Mobiuz was called over by the Lykourian Emperor, this time on the subject of the leeches. "Oh, those? Evil little buggers. But I suppose I could let one go back with you. Just be very, very careful with them. Don't go sticking your fingers in the bowls, and don't let any other pets fall in the water. They're neat things to watch completely devour chunks of meat, but they're still predators." Seeing the happy and genial Emperor suddenly become so serious was a bit jarring. This was a side of him that he rarely showed: that of a person who cared deeply about people not getting hurt. "I'm telling you this for your safety, Lucas."

The Emperor of Lykouros was a full 50 cm shorter than the Emperor of Holoska, which just added to the imposing figure he gave off. Lucas smiled a bit, which prompted Mobiuz to smile again. "Excellent. I'll have a set of instructions sent back with the leech. Now, I must be going." With that, he turned and left, leaving the Wolf Anthro alone with the tank of leeches, still agitated from the smell of blood.

---

Once he was sure that no one else was following him, he ducked into a room and closed the door with a satisfying "thunk!", latching the door behind him. He took a moment to breathe, trying to decompress the inside of his head. This was the part of a party he hated: planning everything. His guests were a delight, but the rest of the preparations were a headache.

"Feeling stressed, brother?"

A cool female voice came from the far side of the room, and Mobiuz took a look at the room he was in. The room was dressed in green, with several bookshelves and a globe set on the floor. The voice had come from the Wolf Anthro woman looking through the shelves, but whose attention had been captured by her brother's entrance. Mobiuz smiled. "Tell me, Jannochka, do you make a living out of appearing where I don't know you are?"

She chuckled. "Brother, you just need to relax a bit and focus on what's not right in front of your face."

"Perhaps. I haven't seen you around as much as Tanya or Vladmira."

"I've just taken to hiding from the chaos until the party begins."

He chuckled. "Indeed, sister. Will I see you at any point later today?"

"Perhaps you will. Perhaps you won't. Perhaps I'll be in Cairu tomorrow."

Again, he chuckled. "I'm sure you can fend for yourself. You're already 16, anyways."

She smiled, and turned to walk out the door. He went to follow her, but she was already gone. He smiled a bit, then went off to see if anyone new had arrived at the Palace.

When the doors open he can't help but crack a small smile in anticipation of meeting the Emperor, his friend Vincius Auston quickly gets in touch with a palace servant, who leads them to their chamber's. Laeroth strode about the palace in his usual arrogant manner. He moved through the various galleries of the palace and ended up in a large garden with a huge tree at its centre. The garden was incredibly serene, and there wasn't a soul in sight. The Archduke pointed his staff and the tree, and began extracting its natural essence.

The birch tree started to slowly wither and die, while his staff turned a sickly light green colour. Chanting a spell in High Elvish, the purest of the old dialects, Laeroth slammed the staff into the crisp grass below him.

A great burst of green energy exploded from the staff, and the flowerbeds around him suddenly came alive as they sprouted new, elegant flowers. The birch had grown to twice its original size, growing to the height of the upper gallery windows. Laeroth beamed with satisfaction as a party of Anthro guardsmen led by the Emperor emerged from a oaken doorway, alerted by the noise.

"Your grace, it is a pleasure to see you! It trust that you have had a pleasant morning?" Laeroth said in a subtle mocking tone.

"I suppose it's as pleasant as it could be, with everything being managed the way it is. Are you having fun messing with my plants?" He was still smiling, but his eyes carried the strongest sense of 'quit it' that the Elven lord had ever seen. "I'd thank you to not interfere with my Palace while you're here, regardless if you're helping. This whole palace has to be kept in balance, you know." He smiled again, and walked over to the tree. "That being said, your command of nature magic is impressive indeed. Perhaps I should have you train my palace staff." The compliment had turned into a veiled insult, which satisfied Mobiuz enough.

"Now, if you'll excuse me, I must be meeting with King Celion." He left the room, but not before whispering to the guards to stay in the room and make sure that everything was alright. Ignoring them, Laeroth left and started walking through the rest of the palace, but couldn't help feeling that he was always being watched after that incident.

---

Mobiuz walked down a smaller corridor by himself, moving out of the way of the staff as he needed, until he became aware of a young Shadow Draconid woman that had been following him. "Hello, Miss Pauling."

The woman dressed in purple smiled gently. "Hello, sir. We've got 3 invited parties here, with a few others still on their way."

"Thank you, Miss Pauling. Are the Kitchens still working just fine?"

"Everything's being baked with military efficiency, sir."

"And the guest rooms?"

"Ready for our arrivals, sir."

He smiled. "Thank you, Miss Pauling. Did you need anything else?"

"Not at the moment, but I probably will in another hour or so. That will be all." They exchanged a smile, then headed off. As Mobiuz continued walking down the hall towards the room where Celion was staying, he thought over his Chamberlain's work hours. As far as he could tell, she never slept, and never seemed tired. She was amazingly industrious. Perhaps she needed a raise.

As Mobiuz approached Celion's room he started to hear the sound of a violin playing, he got in view of the room door and spotted a young looking man in formal clothing, the man bowed respectfully to Mobiuz and quietly introduced himself as Vincius Auston, King Celion and Queen Aleonora's handpicked escort. Vincius then gestures for the Emperor to be quiet and carefully open's the door revealing a woman sitting on the bed in an elegant dress and a man with his back turned toward the door playing his violin for her, she was arranging her hair with the help of a mirror and took notice of Mobiuz in the reflection of the mirror. The man playing the violin suddenly stopped as he took notice of the woman turning around and waving towards the door, he himself also turns around to see who it is, and before getting a real grip of who it is other than someone important he lets out a very welcoming hello...?

The Holoskan Emperor smiled. "I see you play the violin. I always liked that instrument, although I could never get a hold on it. My forte came with the piano, now that one I like." The Emperor was dressed in his formal outfit, a uniform that seemed appropriate for a military commander rather than an Emperor. Perhaps it was a choice of fashion, but who knew.

Celion is stunned by how open the Emperor seems, when he was half expecting another servant to ask him the Emperor himself turns up and asks if there is anything missing, after a moment Celion replied "No, no everything is just great, thank you, but how are you yourself, this is no small celebration, you must have been working hard to prepare it all so quickly, i arrived rather late so i thought instead of interrupting your sleep i would merely announce my arrival" Celion then starts walking with the Emperor out of their chambers in search of some new scenery.

Later during the nightfall, Lucas had managed to contain his queer excitement from the fact that he had successfully persuaded the Holoskan Emperor to allow him to bring back home some of those ugly, fascinating fish worms. But this lasted only a few moments as he walked back to his room and found Cassandra laying frozen on the bed, wearing a white camisole and similarly white knickers, covered only by a light, short silk negligee. The maids bowed down lightly and all exited the room but Lucas quickly grabbed one of them by the arm. "I said evening gown, for our meeting with the King of Celaine, not this." The maids then giggled and quickly went to Cassandra's room to get the appropriate dress.

As soon as the maids were gone Lucas had locked the door. And as if saying "might as well" he went towards the lady captain, who visibly grew nervous each step she heard. Lucas, as well, had his heart pounding crazy, and you could hear both of their heartbeats synchronizing as they came closer to each other. "I- I'm re'dy, yer Majesty." She stuttered, and her accent was back, most likely due to the nervousness. He chuckled lightly, this was turning him on more than the half nakedness he sees, but he also appreciated the gorgeousness that is presented before him. She was glistening to his eyes, like a star in the night. Then he leapt.

He landed on her, who was still frozen in place but now shivering perhaps from the cold weather or from the growing tension between them. "You look beautiful tonight as well." As if a magic word was uttered, her body stopped trembling, she opened her eyes and her mouth slightly, her exhales lands on Lucas' face as he looks directly into her eyes. She lowers her view to his lips, hinting at him to continue. Then he moved, he jerked his head to kiss her, but then they heard a knock.

They both looked shocked and almost immediately both of them changed their position. She was now sitting on the side of the bed, and Lucas was now walking towards the door. "Coming." He unlocked it and opened the door. The maids had this devious smirks on their faces as they saw the now completely red Cassandra by the bed. Lucas simply ignored them and walked out. "Take good care of her." He says with his rare authoritative voice, his eyes also telling them 'if I find a single scratch on her, you're dead', but the maids simply took this as a loving expression though they were startled.

It was nearly midnight when Lucas heard that King Celion had arrived shortly after the event that transpired that night. And so he inquired, from the nearest servant, as to the whereabouts of the King. He was, instead, escorted by the servant, and as he reached the corridors, he bumps into both King Celion and Emperor Mobiuz walking side by side. "Ah there you are King Celion, and Emperor Mobiuz as well." Lucas lightly bows his head in respect and asked to join their perambulate.

Emperor Mobiuz hadn't yet noticed Emperor Lucas, and was instead busy walking to the external courtyard to see about a package that had been delivered. A Shadow Draconid woman was directing several Dwarves in moving a box to the middle of the courtyard. "Excuse me for a moment, Celion. Miss Pauling, who is this from?"

"The 7 Dwarven kings in the Holoskan Spine of Aurinel all collaborated on a gift they've been planning since your coronation. They want to show their appreciation for the rights and freedoms you've given them, and send their hopes that your just and fair reign will be long and prosperous."

"Really? 4 years? This must be something special indeed." He waved his hand, a small patch of water rose out of a nearby fountain, and started wrenching the box open with the force of a bit of water freezing and melting. When the side fell off, the rest of the box fell apart, and at once 7 gems rose from it and floated to the Emperor. Initially, he had been caught off-guard, but once a moment had passed, he was able to appreciate what the gems were. There were seven, cut into stars, and all of them were busy levitating around him.

The whole thing still struck him as entirely odd. "Um...did they explain what these were?"

The woman named Miss Pauling picked up a letter, and unfolded it quickly. "Each of the 7 Dwarven Kings that Holoska has in the Spine of Aurinel made one of these, and gave each one a small spell that recognizes you specifically. Apparently they obey your orders, although it's pretty much just for show."

Mobiuz smiled, and let one float in his hand. It was about the size of a large apple, beautifully cut, and completely pristine inside. They sparked in the sunlight, radiating very faintly. As the stars made their orbit of him, he took stock of what each one was: Diamond, Emerald, Topaz, Ruby, Sapphire, Garnet, and Octarinite. They were all incredibly beautiful, the products of years worth of work and enchanting. "The value of these must be astronomical. I'd even dare to say that they're the most valuable things I've ever owned now."

He turned, and saw the Wolf Anthro named Lucas standing behind him. "Oh, hello Lucas. I'm sorry, I was a little preoccupied. Did you need me or King Celion?" As he spoke, the gems continued making their orbit around the Anthro. In his mind, Mobiuz thought [i]I can't have these always around me. I need a better place to put them."

It seemed like Mobiuz was busy, so Lucas had simply shook his head to the question of Mobiuz. He then looked over Celion, who was quite astonished by the Dwarven creation. Lucas moved forward to snap Celion back to reality. "King Celion," He bowed slightly once again in respect, as well as being a mannerism he picked up from the Feline Anthros. "May I accompany you in your perambulate? I believe we haven't been acquainted yet, and now might be a good time." He said, looking over Emperor Mobiuz then the gems. "It seems the Emperor of Holoska has some things to do."

Laeroth was staring at the emperor through a second floor window. He was being presented with a Dwarven invention. Damn dwarves. Those stunted bastards always had some warped trick up their sleeves. He was proud that his ancestor, Anghalor the Black, had crushed the dwarves in the Second Angfell War.

The Archduke gazed towards a hall to his left. The elvish maid was acting as if nothing had happened last night. Being of absolutely pure elven blood, the Archduke may well have been the most beautiful and seductive being alive. Thus, occasionally he couldn't help himself when it came to acquiring pleasurable company in his bed chamber.

Laeroth was feeling rather light-headed, as a result of his heavy drinking in his chamber. He stumbled out into the yard, where a crowd was gathering around the Emperor.
"Enjoying your Dwarfen trinkets, your grace? It comes as a surprise that they sent anything at all! After all, we all know that they have shit for honour and piss for compassion!" he slurred at Möbius. A series of laughs and shouts erupted from the courtyard.

After hearing his name being called Celion turn's around and quickly takes notice of the Lykouros Empire insignia on the man calling him, Celion almost coldly replied "Lykouros huh, then you must be Emperor Lucas Martin" then cracking a smile "Of course you may, i have heard a great deal about you and you are correct, now is a good tim..." Before being able to continue Celion hears some quarreling near Emperor Mobiuz.

The laughter died down, leaving the Anthros, Dwarves, and Draconids present glaring at the Elves and Humans present. Mobiuz turned to Laeroth and responded "And you seem to have alcohol for blood. I daresay you could piss in a barrel and I could sell it as high-proof brandy. Is there anything you need, other than perhaps a new liver?"

"It seems our time is cut short," Lucas began, looking over Mobiuz and Laeroth and the crowd gathering together. "Let us have this talk later, a story seems to be brewing." He excitedly stared at the event while walking, side by side, with Celion towards the crowd.

Sepren arrived at the last minute accompanied by the two Personal Guards of the Vor'Deshone. Sepren looked around with slight disinterest, were it not for the order directly from the Vor'Deshone he would be else where. Sepren look around for the Holoska emperor but he was not apparent immediately, so Sepren instead moved to the side to observe the crowd.

Night fell across the city, slowly but surely. The chaos of the day had finally come to a day. Tomorrow was the last day of preparations before the party itself on the 35th. As his guests retreated to their rooms, Mobiuz was out in the garden with Lyudmila, his daughter and Heir to the Holoskan Imperial Throne, just 2 years old. The night sky was freckled with stars, the bulk of them in the west, smeared across the sky in a giant blob.

The young Red Panda Anthro girl walked along with her father, who towered over her like a colossus, keeping pace with his wide steps. "Papa, look at the plants!" She was pointing at a large bed of plants that were glowing off to one side of the path, their light somewhat drowned out by the light from a nearby lantern. Mobiuz reached up and snuffed out the light, letting the plants glow their brightest. Their light was like a candle, each one combining their light to make a patch of soft green light in the darkness. Mobiuz smiled as Lyudmila walked out into the plants, taking care not to step on them.

"Why do the plants glow, Papa?"

"They glow because they're supposed to grow in caves. They keep the extra light they get from the sun and shine it back out at night, so they glow bright like a lantern. You have one in your room, remember?"

She giggled. "Yes, Papa." She walked back over to him, and held her arms out, motioning that she wanted to be picked up. "Can you show me the stars again?"

Mobiuz smiled again, and opened his bag, letting the stars float out and begin circling him again. Each one glowed softly, adding more light to the area. Lyudmila smiled at them, and reached out to the star made of topaz. "Papa, why do the stars float?"

"They've got very powerful and arcane magic in them. When the Dwarven Kings in the mountains made them, they gave them a spell that recognizes me. In fact, they said it amplifies a person's power, so each one is supposed to make your Papa's magic stronger. And when you have all 7, then you're really strong!"

"Wow...the Dwarves must like you!"

He chuckled. "Yeah. They do like me." Mobiuz looked down the path, where an Elven staffer was putting out the lanterns for nighttime. "I think we've got enough light to make our way back, do you think?"

"Yes Papa." She smiled and hugged him, and Mobiuz rubbed her ears gently as they walked back to the palace. The bells of the Prīskos Cenā rang for 10 in the evening. Mobiuz's thoughts drifted to what his guests were doing.
