The wind whistled on another peaceful day in Asgar city. It was a typical Tuesday for William Davidson, managing director of Asgareth National Bank as he walked up to street level from the underground. He had a 9 o’clock appointment with Margaret Burns, CEO of a leading arms manufacturing company and then a meeting with the board of directors at 1pm. Davidson turned left onto Maple Street and then right onto Foresters Road. He walked for a further 5 minutes, before walking into ES newsagents. He picked up a copy of the Imperial Star, and after paying for it continued on his journey to main street. As he turned the corner into ES News Corp a jogger bumped into him. Davidson immediately fell to the floor. Blood seared out of his chest at an uncontrollable rate and eventually Davidson succumbed to his demise.

A few hours later, the foreign minister Edgar W. Larkin was sat at home with his wife Sheila discussing the new single of Emperors Boys. Edgar went to switch on the television and the news instantly caught his eye.
“-vidson was found dead this morning outside this corporations headquarters” said reporter Don Gee. Images have been released reportedly showing that Mr. Davidson, CEO of Asgareth National Bank, knew the identity of his killer. The images apparently show Davidson writing a C and a W on the Imperial Star newspaper. Eyewitness, Kathleen Granger had this to say.”
“It was terrible. Mr Davidson was just walking along when somebody ran into him and stabbed him. Davidson fell to the floor and the killer took a brown briefcase in the possession of Mr. Davidson”
“Police assured us that all leads were being followed, and that they were confident that they would capture the killer.” Don reported. “Now, back to you in the studio Andrew”.

Edgar switched off the television, and informed his wife that he would be in the office for a few minutes. Edgar walked into his office, picked up the telephone and dialled 54759-695431. He finally received a response
“I have just seen the news. Is it true? Is the briefcase missing? asked Edgar. “I see. What do we need to do? Right. Can it be done? Yes? Very well. It shall be done. Hail Emperor!”

Edgar walked back into the living, picked up his phone, dialled another number and said
“Hello?, This is F4 calling. By order of the Emperor, activate Pincer.”
Edgar put the phone down again, and unlocked the patio doors. He walked out, took out a cigar and exhumed deeply. He breathed out. He looked up at the sky of Asgar… this was going to be interesting.

Meanwhile, in a shabby alleyway, three men were standing awkwardly in the shadows.
“Where is he. He ought to have arrived by now.” Stated one of the shadows.
“Do not worry, my friend. I am sure he will be along any second now. He has never been late before” stated another
“Phillip, do not fool yourself into thinking we can trust him. He is common muck. The type that we cannot trust” stated the third
“Are we not doing all of this for the common muck, Bill?” responded Phillip.
“We are gaining them freedom, but they must earn it.” Replied Bill.
A man began to run towards them, and all three men turned to look at him.
“Ah! Curtis. I knew you wouldn’t fail us” stated Phillip.
“I did as you asked sir. I have the briefcase.” Responded Curtis
“Good. Hand it over boy” responded the first shadow.
Curtis handed the briefcase over, which was briefly examined by Bill and the mysterious shadow. Bill then proceeded to open the briefcase, in which lay a brown file.
“Ah.” He said. “So that is their plan. Directive 83. The extermination of all political enemies. We must act quickly if we are to survive. Call upon our allies, we are going to war.” Stated the mysterious shadow

In an undisclosed place of meeting, the beginning of a new era was being discussed among a coalition of leftists, from social democrat to social autocrat. As to be expected, getting anarchists, stalinists and liberals to properly co-operate and focus on the task is difficult, and more often than not, they pursue their own agenda's. Albert Orwell, often called 'The Lion' due to his thick mane and beard, as well as his impressive and imposing stature, has had enough of this, and intends to truly begin the revolution, first by grabbing the reigns of the coalition and stirring it in the right direction. He stands before the coalition elites at the table and bellows over their inane chatter and scheming: "Listen!", the room turns to him, somewhat in surprise.
"As our recent intell has informed us, Directive 83 may just be our end, before we've even been able to begin; instead of bickering and plotting, we need to take action!"
"Well maybe if these traitors of the cause wouldn't get in our way, we could actually get something done." retorted the leader of the stalinists side, Benjamin Ferhum. "They believe we can win with 'civil resistance' and bourgeois appeasement tactics like democracy, how can we do anything?"
"I do so enjoy being called a traitor by a man who claims murdering and oppressing the proletariat is the way to their emancipation." stated anarchist spokesperson, Simone Wollstonecraft. "And barbarism will only turn the people against us making our job harder."
"You are so nai-"
"Let me stop you both before this turns into another petty squabble; I've suffered enough of them as it is" interjected Albert. "Benjamin is right, we must act. However, Simone is right: the wrong kind of action will just justify the actions of the state, and we don't want that."
"What do you propose then?" inquired Benjamin.
"We only use drastic action against crucial targets: leading military personnel only. That means no more CEO's..."
"But they are the height of capitalistic scum!"
"While that is true, the people see them with significantly more sympathy. It would damage our support"
"Well I guess some action is better than none." concedes Benjamin
"So do you propose we bomb some officers instead then?" asked Simone with some contempt for the idea.
Albert pondered, "No, I don't want to commit terrorism either. Not good for our image either. I'd prefer things to be done discreetly, it's more about achieving objectives than sending messages."
"You do understand that the states of Asgareth and Romae in perpetuum have no regard for their people, and would happily commit their own terrorism to frame us?" noted Benjamin.
"Aye, I do, but that can't be avoided. They'd likely do it regardless. At least this way the terrorism is being done for us, and we have some basis to deny these allegations. It doesn't really matter if we'll be framed for terrorism, what matters is we don't become a part of it."
Both disgruntled, Simone and Benjamin stare at Albert, neither particularly happy, but neither disagreeing. "What do you propose then, exactly?" Simone eventually asks.
"I propose" said Albert "That we kill General Edmund De'lance"
The room is quiet; likely pondering how 'The Lion' intended to kill one of Asgareth's leading generals.
"My operatives have in fact infiltrated some of his staff, and we have multiple plans to make sure he doesn't live, should orders be given: poison everything that can possible be poisoned, sabotage his gun to blow in his face, blow him sky high with an 'accidental' gas leak. We have many options on the table."
Benjamin and Simone discussed with their groups for about 10 minutes, before eventually turning back to face Albert. "We believe this action is sufficient for now." said Benjamin.
"We believe this action is agreeable enough, we can see it's utility." admitted Simone.
"So." Albert began, loudly, and with increasing passion, "We are finally beginning the revolution! We are no longer some mere discussion group, but truly we might just bring this world into a new era! Of equally distributed prosperity and liberty for all! Remember my allies: WE HAVE NOTHING, TO LOSE, BUT OUR CHAINS!"

Decius Sertorius Tetricus was bored. He was being forced to listen to some minor senator drone on about the rise in milk prices, whose only real purpose was to give all the Senators time to show up for the important announcement. His speech. The Imperial palace had received word yesterday that, in addition to the murder of William Davidson, General Edmund De'lance had also been found dead. The message from Asgareth had claimed that he had died in a 'compromising situation', however, Tetricus' sources in Asgareth implied De'lances demise had involved a whip and a gimp suit, which Tetricus could not help but chortle at. Tetricus, as befitted his position as Imperial Secretary, was seated at the bottom set of the fine rows of marble benches, delicately inlaid with plush red cushions that seated the Imperial Senate. He was pondering the far reaching implications of the assassinations and wondering if enough Senators had arrived for them to quieten the old fool speaking. No such luck, but Tetricus found himself distracted by whispering to his left. Looking in the direction he saw Titus Corvus Vespasian, the newly 'elected' senator of Ostia and hero of the Lazori-Roman war, happily whispering to one of his cronies. He would be happy, Tetricus reflected, with De'lance dead Vespasian would accede to the post of head of the allied armies, and with a rebellion brewing in Asgareth and rumours of dissenters in the military they were unlikely to propose a replacement soon.

Suddenly the speaker of the house made a cutting motion with his hand, silencing the old fool, stood and addressed the Senate "Senators, now we are all in attendance may i present, speaking on behalf of Caesar, Decius Sertorius Tetricus, Imperial Secretary of Octavius Gaius Howardus Caesar and Praetor of Ravenna". Tetricus stood to a round of polite applause and made his way to the podium at the center of the Senate floor. Upon reaching the podium he looked out at the two thousand senators gazing back with a mixture of expressions ranging from mild disinterest to total fascination, Tetricus was also aware of the many cameras focusing on him at that moment broadcasting his speech across the empire.

"Friends, Romans, countrymen, lend me your ears. We received word from our Asgarian allies that General Edmund De'lance was killed in a bomb attack by an insurgent Socialist group yesterday." He paused to let this information sink in, of course most of the Senate was aware of this development but they put on a good show for the cameras. Privately Tetricus was impressed with the way the Asgarian's had handled the assassination, upon discovering De'lance's corpse (gimp suit and all) the Asgar had evacuated all major figures from the building and set a bomb off, a few civil servants and low key officials had died but the PR impacts were priceless. He drew a deep breath before continuing, now allowing emotion to flood into his voice "in light of this despicable act of barbarism Caesar has decreed that he will support his ally the Asgarian emperor by despatching a century of his own Praetorian Guard to assist in the squashing of these vile insurgents, together we will crush these rebel scum and bring order to Asgarath! Hail Caesar." Tetricus watched with satisfaction as each senator to a man got to their feet banged their fists against their shoulders and extended their arms as they all cried as one "hail Caesar, hail Caesar." Tetricus allowed himself to indulge in his glory. Rome was once again marching to war to preserve law and order and would crush the dark specter of Socialism once and for all.

Prelude 2

Captain James Reynolds arrived back at the barracks for the first time since deployment almost 2 months ago. The Lazori-Romae war ended as quickly as it begun and now there was talk of forming alliances with Asgareth’s former enemies. Reynolds could not believe how his men had sacrificed their lives, only for the war to effectively cease as soon as they were killed. Reynolds thought back to the journey there, to the execution… no murder of Pvt.Thomas. Pvt.Thomas was a good man but Cpt. Reynolds had killed him in order to follow orders; orders that had stated that surrender was not an option. Reynolds was disillusioned… and he wasn’t the only one to know this.

Major Smith called James into his office. James composed himself and left his office, heading for E block. On route, he was met by a pair of black guards who escorted him directly into the Major’s office. James expected them to wait outside, but they walked straight through where a further two black guards were already sat down.
“Hello James, please take a seat” Smith said, gesturing with his right hand. “I hope the journey back wasn’t too tiring?
“Not at all sir, I certainly preferred it to the journey there.” James responded.
“Ah excellent, now I expect you are wondering why I have summoned you here so soon after your arrival?” the major asked. “Well, perhaps our friends here could explain”

“Good evening Captain. I am 3L-AS8. My associates here, are 5C-BS3, 7C-OS2 and 9P-SW5. We are members of the Emperors Black Guard. The Black Guard, as I am sure you are aware was founded well over 500 years ago, to maintain the peace and prosperity of Asgareth and to ensure that the Emperors law was followed at all times. So far, the Black Guard has continued to maintain the peace amongst the public, but lately we have struggled to control the public. There has been a growing threat from certain individuals, which for a long time was ignored because the public chose to ignore them. However, after the firebombing of Asgar, these individuals began to sway the public opinion. This poses a serious threat to the security of Asgareth”. stated the guard sat furthest from the captain.
“I see” responded the captain. “And why is that? What do these individuals even want?”
“These individuals show no gratitude for the security that the emperor has provided them with. They fail to see our military victories as such and refuse to worship the name of the emperor. But perhaps worst of all, they wish to convert Asgareth into a democracy!”
“A democracy?” asked the captain. “You mean they want to have a say in who makes the laws that has a direct effect on their lives?”
“I know. It is an unreasonable request, and they clearly pose a threat”. 3L-AS8 produced a file and handed it to the captain. “As I am sure you are aware, General Edmund De’Lance was assassinated in the early hours. This is clearly the work of those pesky socialists. But that is not all. This is the file of 6S-GE7. Up until three hours ago, he was the third longest serving member of the black guard. However, three hours ago his head was found attached to a pole. The pole had a small inscription on it, saying ‘Power to the People’. To attack a black guard is treason. The man responsible, Curtis Wilkinson is a known socialist who has evaded capture. All black guards are well known to him for some reason that we cannot figure out.”
“Could it possibly be to do with how you all wear black armour?” asked the captain.
“No. It can’t be that. Socialists are too stupid to think logically. However, it is clear that black guards cannot capture these socialists. Therefore, the emperor has personally commissioned the creation of the White Guard. This organisation will seek to capture socialists from the inside. And we would like you to become the first white guard.” said 3L-AS8 “I cannot begin to tell you how much of an honour this is, and as you clearly wish to help the emperor in all ways we are sending you straight out into the field. You see captain, the mission we have in hand for you is to infiltrate the group known as Democracy Strikes. This group shields Curtis at all turns. It is time to destroy it once and for all. Major Smith here informs me that you are the perfect candidate for this role, so pack your stuff. You are shipping out”.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Captain Reynolds, or William Byrnes as he would now be known, arrived in East Asgar for the start of a meeting, supposedly about the growing rate of cabbages. He walked towards the small hall, and joined a long line waiting outside. Everyone was being checked before entry and luggage was checked. Reynolds watched as two men were escorted into an alleyway with their hands up.
“Come on you Imperial scum. Come and get your reward”. Said one of the armed guards.
A few seconds later two gunshots echoed through the air. Reynolds continued to follow the line and eventually got to the front.
The guard facing him was a chubby bald man in his mid 40’s. He did a full body search before allowing Reynolds to enter. Reynolds breathed a breathe of relief before being ushered into the hall. He took a seat on the third row to the back. He looked around him. Banners showing cabbages hung above the ground and people were chatting away loudly. He attempted to distinguish words but it was so packed and noisy that he ended up sitting there and waiting. Eventually, the lights dimmed and a man walked up to the microphone.
“Ladies and Gentlemen, welcome to the Weekly Democracy Strikes meeting. I am sorry for the security but given the recent attacks we fear for our organisation. I now give the order to replace the banners” said the man speaking.
At once all the banners were lifted up and replaced with red banners with a fist in the middle.
The man continued. “Much better. As most of you know, my name is Phillip Taylor and I am the head of publicity for Democracy Strikes!
Loud cheers erupted throughout the hall, before Phillip continued.
“As many of you know, General De’Lance was found dead this morning. Our sources inform us that the imperial council believe it to be us. They are preparing to locate every member of democracy strikes and execute on the spot. That is why, we call on all of you gathered here. Democracy strikes are launching attacks tonight. Our socialist ally, the UASS of Man have provided us with arms, and I call on you to do what is right. Fight in the name of liberty, in the name of the fallen, in the name of democracy. End this oppression. Long live Asgareth and power to the people!”
Further cheers erupted and calls of “Long live Asgareth” and “Power to the people” echoed around.
Reynolds got up along with the rest of the audience and walked towards the back of the room where they were each handed an assault rifle, ammunition and a grenade pack. Reynolds was impressed at how quickly the nation of THe United Anarcho-Social States of Man had managed to smuggle the weapons across the border, although he was deeply worried. Although the UASS of Man was but a fledgling country, if they had joined the war what was to stop Lazori, or another great socialist power, from joining the war.

Once they collected their equipment, they headed outside where they were informed that they would be split into five groups; covering North Asgar, West Asgar, East Asgar, Asgar Central and South Asgar. Reynolds was assigned to the West Asgar contingency and so he and 19 others set off on the twenty-mile drive, led by Colin Ramsey. Reynolds was sat in the fourth car, on the left hand side seat. During the journey, he secretly got a message sent to 3L-AS8 stating that Asgar was about to be attacked. The cars halted, and the passengers got out. They positioned themselves outside the barracks of the fourth army and prepared to attack.

“Gentlemen, what we do tonight, we do for Asgareth. Some of us will not live till dawn, but I am prepared to sacrifice everything to give the future freedom. For too long we have been oppressed by the Emperor and the Imperial Council. But, my brothers, tonight we avenge all the times we have been wronged. Long Live Asgareth” said Ramsey

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Meanwhile, 3L-AS8 went to report to his superior officer, 1A-CD2.
“Sir, one of our operatives has just confirmed. Asgar is under attack” stated the inferior officer
“I see. Send out the Black Guard. Kill them…. All of them”
3L-AS8 sent a report to the black guards.
“Gentlemen, we go to war tonight. Fight for his emperor. Defend Asgar at all costs.”
3L-AS8 looked up at the sky.
War was about to begin…

War on the horizon as Yoo Si-jin crowned as new emperor.

Postby The Fourth Reich of Pepe » Sun May 29, 2016 4:01 pm

After the death of Presidente Pepe VI in the early hours of yesterday night, majority opposition leader Yoo Si-jin was sworn in as the 21st emperor of Pepe. His first act as emperor saw him give an enthralling speech to his supporters and the nation.

“The great time has just begun. Pepe has awoken. We have won power in Pepe. Now we have to win power in the world. I know, my fellow brothers and sisters, that we have gone through difficult times, when you desired change. But change never came. When you desired someone strong to lead the way. Well here I stand. What we dreamed of for years, has finally become a reality. Unification of all Pepe’s is now a symbol of our new empire. Thus, it has become the normality for Pepe people. The most valuable possession that you, the people, have in this world, are the people that stand beside you now. Your comrades. And for the sake of these people, for the livelihood of our nation, we will struggle and fight as one. But never tire, never lose courage and never lose faith in our just cause.

The struggle against Fascism has, for the first time, developed into an international struggle. And as a nation, we will not rest until the plague of Fascism is not only removed from the Pepe way of life, but from the entire world as we know it.

A new community is being built within the empire of pepe, and it is our aim to preserve this and nurture it. Those who commit to the socialist state, are the ones who are rewarded in the highest. But this commitment must not only happen once a year, or once in a lifetime. No. This commitment must happen everyday. Our new welfare system is much more than just a charity. We do not force the rich to give what they have earnt to the poor. We say to the people of Pepe, help yourselves and help others. Everyone must help whether rich or poor. Everyone must have the belief that there is always someone that is in a much dire situation than you. And this person, I do not want to help because I am told or obliged, but because he is my brother. He is my sister. He is my fellow comrade. If one may question this and say, but must I give everything I have? Why must I sacrifice a lot? That, my fellow comrade, is the glory of giving! When you sacrifice everything you have in order to make your family, your community better off, than you may walk with pride and glory that you have helped the fatherland.

In the face of battle, our will shall be unshakable, and our belief in our cause resolute. And I expect every Pepe with a sense of pride and duty to march with us in our columns!”

Later that evening, it was reported that the high council voted in favour of joining the Asgareth civil war in support of the rebels alongside The United Anarcho-Social States of Man, a known advocate of socialism. No alliance has yet been agreed between the two nations however. The coming days will be of such importance, that they will be cemented in the history of this nation.

Yoon Myeong-joo, chief editor of the Pepe times.

'The Lion' was heading towards the council chambers, thinking over the latest news. While he was happy that De'Lance was dealt with, it was certainly unfortunate that what was meant to be a low-key assassination was turned into an act of terrorism in order to damage their reputation and hide the less than tasteful activities of the late General. Of course, Orwell had expected such a thing might happen. Albert entered the chambers and took his seat among the representatives.
The current speaker began, "Everyone is present now, let us begin. First item on the agenda is discussing the De'Lance incident." Some of the representatives looked at Albert with glares of disapproval, others sly glances of understanding.
"I believe Councillor Orwell's actions were highly misguided and not in line with our views, and as such he should step down as advisor of the Asgar revolution" proposed one of the aforementioned glaring councilors, Adam Connolly.
"While I appreciate Councillor Connolly's concerns" began Orwell, "I don't think he quite appreciates the difficulty and complexity of the situation. We can't take a dogmatically pacifistic approach to achieve a perfect state overnight in Asgareth; it's a nation with a long history of oppression, and as such action to topple this regime must be taken. Being framed for a terrorist act couldn't be avoided; had we not acted they may of just framed us for the murder of a less important target with far worse consequences. This way, I have kept control."
"This 'control' has meant innocents have died!"
"I know, Ms. Wollstonecraft has made sure I don't forget that fact. But I ask, what is to be done? Had I not acted, innocents continue to die anyway. This way the deaths are somewhat on my terms, and bring us closer to freeing our neighbors."
"'On your terms'? How can you say something so cold!?"
"Calm down Councillor Connolly." the speaker spoke in his usual soft and gentle tone. "Albert is right, little could be done and this was likely the best result of a poor situation. I suggest we move to item two: the recent revolution in Pepeland."
"While I'm glad we have more comrades, this does make for more problems." said Albert.
"Very true Councillor, what do you suggest?"
"We give them all the support we can muster until they've properly consolidated. They'll make for capable allies. As a contingency I might also suggest developing plans just in case things go south and they require asylum up north."
"All present agree?" the speaker is met with mostly agreement, though no one objects. " Very well. Meeting adjourned."

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

A few days later, Orwell returned to the Asgar rebel HQ. Much like the council, he received some disapproving stares, however, more congratulated him. Benjamin greets him at the door, ecstatic. "Support for us has grown! Young men and women are joining by the droves to be revolutionaries!"
Albert stared at him in disgust, " Chances are, they are not joining to be revolutionaries, they're joining to be terrorists. I fear our ranks will be filled not with the righteous and good, but with those who simply want to destroy and cause chaos. There is no reason to celebrate." Albert walked past him into the meeting room, greeted by Simone's look of disgust.
"I know the De'Lance incident didn't go as well as planned" began Orwell, "but it went about as well as we expected." Simone just continued her judging silence, while Benjamin pouted about what Orwell previously said.
"My next plan of action I'm afraid, is going to be far more ambitious." The room continued it's awkward silence. "The UASM has sent planes, loaded with anti-fascist propaganda. Those that fly and drop the pamphlets will almost certainly be shot down. They will make for good martyrs." Simone looked as if she were about to say something, but Orwell continued before she could begin her objections. "This should serve as an adequate diversion while we sneak in about 5000 armed and highly trained revolutionary guard to permeate Asgareth, spreading discord and training further rebels. They will be delivered by submarines, parachute and some have already begun the long way of crossing the eastern and southern borders by foot. With some luck Asgareth officials will only catch some and the majority should make it through. They all have been given targets, all military of some status. They have also been given intell about known detention centers filled with political prisoners. These would be considered key targets."
"This sounds like it could fail miserably. It's quite likely Asgareth will begin a witch hunt to root out your men. People will certainly suffer" Simone said despairingly.
"I must admit, I don't know how I feel about this either. Why not a full on invasion?" continued Benjamin.
Orwell responded, "The suffering is unavoidable and will happen regardless of our actions. This serves to give that suffering purpose. As for an invasion, such action would put my land at greater risk, and will turn this into a war of nationalism rather than ideology, something I'd rather avoid. Besides, the only chance we have to be Asgareth is through cloak and dagger tactics, they'll crush us in conventional war."
As before, neither Benjamin or Simone were happy, but neither could disagree. The meeting was quickly ended as all parties begrudgingly agreed. Albert rushed to his own quarters were he heaved heavily and broke into a sweat. He didn't like this. He understood that it had to be done but doing it was tearing him apart. He hadn't slept in a week, and barely eaten for longer. He just had to remember: "What is to be done?"

“...then you have a meeting with a senatorial committee on agricultural subsidies to farmers in the southern provinces…” Decius Sertorius Tetricus rolled his eyes, it was going to be a long day. His aide, Titus Sempronius Capito, had a habit of droning on and today was no exception. “Oh secretary” piped Captio snapping Tetricus out of his musings, “I have the latest report from Asgareth” “Ah good” Tetricus replied, taking the report as he spoke. It was a relatively standard report, the Praetorians had landed in Seventy Harbour and were working with the Black Guard to lock down, possible disloyal, Asgarthian armed forces. Tetricus was also interested to hear that the UASM had attempted to send armed forces into Asgareth, however, an impressive 3750 of them had been captured or killed whilst trying to enter Asgareth. Tetricus smirked, he almost pitied the poor bastards, almost. Operation Concursus was also proceeding smoothly, on discovering the USAM had sent bombers to the rebels to drop propaganda leaflets (and after promptly shooting them down) Asgarathian intelligence had manufactured identical craft and proceeded to send them on suicide runs into the city centers and densely populated areas of Asgar and Vorleri. The horrific aftermath of these ‘terrorist’ attacks and the devastation they caused had been heavily publicised and was running 24/7 on all Asgarthian media outlets and public outcry was immense, it had been estimated that for every Asgarthian drawn to the terrorists 10 had resolved to destroy them. This ‘Lion’ was a fool Tetricus surmised, he appeared to be unwilling to do what was necessary to achieve victory and would lose this war as a result. Tetricus did feel a flicker of respect for the man, however, it is no small task to unify the fragmented forces of the far left and all sources agree that Orwell is the only thing holding the terrorists together something would have to be done about him…

“Secretary, if your done, it's time for your meeting with the Pepeans” Captio ventured “So it is Captio” Tetricus replied “lead the way.” After the declaration of the new Pepean president supporting Socialist terrorists many right-wing dissidents had fled to nearby Rome and wanted assistance in establishing a more Roman-friendly government and Caesar was keen to indulge them. Tetricus and Captio continued their walk through the luxuriously decorated Imperial Palace until they reached the room where the Pepeans were housed. The Praetorians guarding the door stood to attention at Tetricus arrival and granted him entrance. Tetricus took a moment to survey the room, ‘Generalissimo’ Kaui Conchur sat awkwardly on the unfamiliar Roman sofas with his two lieutenants Tetricus reclined on an opposite sofa and signaled for a nearby slave to bring refreshments. “Salve gentlemen, what can Caesar do for you?” Tetricus started lightheartedly, “it is about the invasion arrangements Mr Secretary, the great pepe is discussed at these evil socialists taking power and it is my sovereign duty to take power” stated Conchur boldly “surely Rome could spare a few million men you would easily overwhelm the heretic forces and i could take power...as Pepe would want”. Tetricus took a sip of wine to buy time to phrase his response diplomatically, a full on invasion had been considered, but considering the Reich’s military inferiority the great nations of the charter may frown on Rome and with Asgareths reduced capabilities Rome would be unprotected from their wrath. “Roman Legions can not be seen interfering in the establishment of a new government in the Reich, it would put your government's legitimacy in doubt” Tetricus began “if you are seen to be taking power for yourselves the other nations of the charter will be far more accepting of you”. The Generalissimo looked disappointed at this “very well” he grumbled “but even your equipment, your power armor alone would give us a significant advantage!” Tetricus raised his hand stopping the Generalissimo cold “you have been provided with the finest of Roman ballistics and arms in addition to enough money to have a very formidable war chest with the promise of more to come, it will make you more appealing to your people who are going through a recession currently.” Conchur looked satisfied with his reassurances and stood up “very well secretary me and my advance force of 15,000 are at Caesars disposal”, “good” Tetricus replied whilst remaining seated “the Imperial Navy will transport you and your men back to your homeland by the end of the week and will be on exercises in the vicinity for a while after, gentlemen good luck.” The Pepians nodded their thanks and marched out, Tetricus signaled for more wine, win or lose this was going to be interesting.

'You shall not pass' my borders you socialist scum!

Postby Antirecta » Wed Jun 01, 2016 12:01 pm

His Holiness Ian Mckellen the Supreme Leader of the Antirectan nation walked briskly into the high command situation room. The last half an hour had been a blur, he had been woken from his sleep by his Chief of Staff Gok Wan and had been hurriedly informed of the unfolding events taking place in Asgar city. As he sat down at the head of the table he looked around and registered the faces of senior military figures from his armed forces as well as his cabinet ministers. ‘Gentleman, we are sure you have all been made aware by now but we shall repeat the facts none the less. At 3am local time we were woken and informed that our ambassador to the Asgareth Emperor, His Excellency Giuliano Della Rovere had been brutally murdered by socialist scum in the city of Asgar. He was dragged from our embassy there into the street where he was brutally and maliciously decapitated. It seems that the social uprising led by this ‘Orwell’ plebeian is truly becoming an issue and is no longer the small pocket of dissent we thought it was. We imagined it’d be an internal affair, but it seems it has gotten out of hand. It is clear to us now that Asgareth and Romae in Perpetuum need our help to squash these parasitic vermin, Antirecta will not take this offence against our government lightly. We will route these leftists out and we will rip them and their ideologies to shreds. Is there anyone here who disagrees with us?’ He looked around the room and saw that not one of them challenged his choice, ‘Very well, we go to war, our dear Giuliano must be avenged. General Achilles we want you to have the Rainbow guard readied, they will be sent to Asgar to support the effort of eliminating socialist leaders. Supreme General Mehmet you are to gather the rest of the Army together and have them ready to move at a moment's notice’. The Minister for Intelligence signalled that he wished to speak, ‘Yes Edgar’ he nodded. ’Supreme leader, I have just been made aware that a group of Pepean loyalists have taken sanctuary in Nova Roma. One of my informants there tells me that the Roman Imperial Secretary is willing to financially back an invasion of the Pepean capital in order to install a pro-right government’. Everyone there was impressed by the Intelligence Ministers knack for finding out the secrets of other nations; ‘Thank you for bringing that to my attention Minister, I shall call Caesar immediately and see how we can assist in the restoration of a stable government for Pepea. Thank you for your time gentleman, you are dismissed. May Beyonce watch over you all. With this everyone in the room stood and like clockwork saluted their glorious leader and with chests pushed forward said the noble words ‘May the courage of Queen B go with you’.

The Supreme Leader walked from the room at a rapid pace, a man of his standing didn't have the time to move leisurely and had to be ready to make tough decisions at any time of the day. It was nearing 4.30 am local time when he sat down at his desk in his lavishly decorated office, it'd be around 1 am in Nova Roma meaning he would probably wake Caesar from his sleep, that being if he wasn't in the middle of an orgy. He would not usually call this early out of respect for his friend and ally but he knew that the circumstances permitted it. He picked up the phone, ‘Put us through to the office of the Roman Imperial Secretary’, a voice replied ‘One moment Your Highness’. After waiting for a few seconds he heard the deep voice of Tetricus. ‘Good evening Your Supreme Highness, it is a great pleasure albeit an unexpected one to have you call at this time of the morning. How can I be of assistance?’.The Supreme Leader cleared his voice and replied ‘We wish to speak to your Emperor Secretary Tetricus, it is of urgent business that can not be delayed, put us through to him.’ Tetricus waited a moment before firmly saying ‘Caesar is preoccupied by matters of state and cannot be disturbed at this time, feel free to direct your concerns to me’. The Supreme Leader was becoming agitated with this little man, it was true he had climbed far and that his motivation inspired respect, but his tone was full of pompousness. ‘It is a shame our good friend Caesar is busy. We were hoping to discuss plans for the invasion of the Pepeans but I'm sure Caesar will be delighted to hear that his secretary made him wait’. ‘There is no need for that’ Tetricus replied somewhat nervously, ‘I am sure my Lord Caesar will be most interested in what you have to say’. The Supreme Leader's face couldn't help breaking into a grin,‘We are happy that you've seen sense Tetricus, good day’. After around a minute of waiting the Supreme Leader heard the strong voice of Caesar saying goodnaturedly,‘Ian, I trust you have a reason for disturbing me at this ungodly hour’. ‘You know I would not have called if it hadn't been urgent Gaius, thank Gaga I can stop referring to myself as ‘we’ now; the gays must have their pomp and show. How are things in Nova Roma, are Flavia and the kids ok?’, Caesar quickly replied ‘Yes things are quite agreeable Ian and the Imperial family are fine but I know you didn't call at this time to exchange pleasantries my old friend’. The Supreme Leader chuckled, ‘Straight to the point as always, I take it you've heard what happened to my ambassador in Asgar, the world is erupting into madness. Common filth dragging important politicians and diplomats onto the streets and butchering them like animals, something must be done. My cabinet has agreed we will declare war on these socialists. The reason I call is I have heard from my man Hoover that your funding a little exploit I may be able to assist in.’ ‘Yes a distasteful turn of events, you must remind me to execute my head of intelligence’ joked Caesar. ‘In all seriousness, your assistance would be appreciated in restoring order to the Reich. What exactly did you have in mind?’ The Supreme Leader looked over his notes for a moment,‘I have a 200000 mobilised men ready to aid with both air and sea support, hopefully that will pivot the odds in our favour. I am willing to go to all extremes in order to crush these communists and restore balance to the region’. Caesar thoughtfully replied, ‘Good. They will be appreciated. Rome cannot directly send large numbers of men into the fray. We have earned the ire of some of the bigger nations of the Charter and with Asgareth otherwise occupied we are in a precarious position’. ‘I understand perfectly old friend, it is times like this that our nations must stand alongside one another like brothers. I will put my Chief of Staff in contact with yours so that our plans can get under way. We will soon rid the world of socialist scum.’ Caesar replied with fervor ‘It shall be glorious Ian, have the details sent to Tetricus and our enemies will fall before us’.The Supreme Leader then countered ‘I look forward to seeing you in the upcoming state visit Gaius, goodbye for now we shall see eachother soon’ with that he hung up the phone and gazed out the window at the sun rising on the horizon. He knew the coming weeks would be trying but they would allow him to avenge his loyal supporter Giuliano and would lead to the eradication of the disease known as socialism that had plagued the charter for far too long.

Prelude 3

Captain Reynolds approached the IV army’s barracks along with the rest of his squad. When they arrived at the entrance two men approached them.
“Excuse me gentlemen. Can I help you?” one of them asked
“Yes. Yes, you can.” Colin Ramsey pulled out a pistol and shot the one nearest to him in the shoulder. He then shot the other in the head.
“Radio your commander. Tell them we are coming” Ramsey said to him.
Reynolds and the others ran through the barricade and began a shooting spree. All around them, unarmed soldiers fell to the floor, dead.

The troupe headed towards the bulk of the first set of quarters, where 200 unarmed men slept. The men ran in, and before the men could so much as respond began to kill them all on sight. Blood poured down the walls of the room as the captain and his squad continued their advance. The men in the second quarter fell just as quickly as in the first. At this point, Ramsey ordered his men to split up and to hit the third, fourth, fifth and sixth quarters. Reynolds was assigned to take out the sixth quarter along with four others. As they raced along the pavement, they came under heavy fire directly ahead of them. Reynolds watched as two of his comrades fell instantly. Instantly, Reynolds and the others ran for cover.

“We got heavy fire coming out of the sixth quarters gents. Trev, stay here, flush them out. William and I will head round and hit them as they approach.” Said the man nearest to Reynolds.
William and Adam rushed forward, whilst Trev provided covering fire. Men began to run out of the quarters, armed with rifles and pistols and began to fire into the darkness. William set up about 20 metres from the front exit, with Adam being 10 metres to his left. More men came running out, but were gunned down almost instantly. Victory seemed certain.

Suddenly, men came running from the seventh and eighth quarters. They chucked grenades in the dark, and began to open fire. Instantly, Adam fell to the floor with blood pouring out of his head and stomach. Reynolds continued to fire aimlessly into the dark but missed.
“Will, get out of here. I will hold them off” called Trev in the shadows. “Regroup with the team outside”.
Reynolds fired some more shots, but eventually retreated, leaving Trev alone. Trev put up a fight but was overpowered quickly and taken prisoner.

Reynolds assembled outside IV barracks once more with the few survivors. Out of the 21 men who had arrived, only 6 had managed to escape, including Reynolds. Commander Ramsay had been caught inside the third quarters. The men gathered into cars and left once more, returning to the centre of Asgar.

*Breaking News*
“We have reports of an attack in Vorlori. Correspondent Don Gee is at the scene” said the newscaster
“Thanks Jim. Minutes ago, three explosions were heard throughout the city centre of Vorlori. They happened within five minutes of each other, around the centre. I am joined by Lee Wallace, who was in the centre of the city when the explosions occurred. Lee, what did you see?
“Hey Don, big fan of the show by the way. I was walking outside the shopping plaza, when suddenly a shadow loomed over me. Next thing I know, boom! I was knocked off my feet and just ran for it.”
“Did you see the shadow?”
“I looked up and saw fuel, but that is all.”
“Thanks Lee.” Don turned back to the camera and said “So, it would appear that three explosions have occurred in the city centre, caused by an unknown source. James Wilson, leader of the Imperial Fascists joins me now. Mr Wilson, what did you see?”
“Well Don, I saw two planes above Vorlori, descending quickly towards the centre, just minutes before the explosions”
“Really? Could you describe the planes?”
“They looked like military planes from the UASSM. Clearly those socialists are behind these attacks. We should prepare to march into their puny piece of rock and attack them all and see how they like it. That will serve em right.” Said Wilson
“Planes from the UASSM? Wow folks, you heard it here first. The UASSM have launched an attack on our second city, clearly the council will act quickly in stopping these tyrants. What the emperor and his council will do next, remains unclear. Back to you in the studio Jim”

“Wow, thanks Don. Can you believe it Sheila. The UASSM attacking us? Obviously they have been in cohorts with our rebels for some time, but even so, the foolishness they have displayed is unbelievable. The emperor will not allow this to go unpunished.” Jim said
“I know Jim. Hold on. We now take you live to Asgar city…. Something is happening. Jack Lewis?.”

“Thanks Sheila. Fires and gunshots have broken out throughout Asgar. The archives and museum have been set on fire, the gladiatorial arena and IV army barracks attacked. We do not-“. The broadcast was interrupted.

*Picture Scatters*

“This message is brought to you by the Asgarthian Socialist Party. We know what you did. We know what you are. We know the truth. These atrocities in Asgar and Vorlori are the fault of you, emperor. You are a disgrace to Asgareth. We will not stop until we find you…. We will find you. We will kill you, and all your allies. We now speak directly to the nation of Romae in Perpetuum. If you attack our allies, we will attack you. Do not be foolish. Rise up against your Caesar, defend your rights. The attacks in Asgar and Vorlori are just the start. We have men arriving to support us. We start tonight. Either join our cause…. Or prepare to die.”

*Picture fades*

“I do apologise. We appear to have lost connection for a moment…. Uh…. That is all we have time for tonight. Hail Emperor!” Jim said.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The following day General Walter Jones (CAO) was walking through the corridors of the war rooms, when he heard sobbing coming from around the corner. He walked around and was surprised to find the defence minister, Rufus T. Perkins sat in the corner sobbing. Jones walked up to him and asked
“What on earth is the matter Rufus?”
Rufus continued to sob, before stating that “my son… last night….”
The General instantly understood, and felt a pang of conscience. He had been the former head of IV army, having left just three weeks prior.
“I am so sorry to hear that Ruf. At least he died fighting for the emperor and for security”
“No…. died…. apartment”
“apartment?” asked the General
At this point General Maguire (DCAO) approached the General and informed him that there was a meeting in the War Chambers. The duo walked down together, while Maguire filled him in.
“I see you were talking to Rufus. Such a tragic loss.” Maguire stated
“What did he mean? Apartments?” asked Walters
“You didn’t hear?” responded Maguire. “Last night three planes crashed into Vorleri city centre. They resembled the planes of the UASSM, and as a result the emperor has authorised the chamber to declare war upon the socialist scum.”
The men took their seats in the chamber, where Edgar W. Larkin prepared to speak
“Gentlemen, we face troubled times. Last night terrorist attacks occurred through Asgareth. Rebels, supported by the UASSM set fire to the national archives and national history museum last night, causing the loss of valuable artefacts. Additionally, IV army barracks were hit last night. Ninety-eight soldiers were killed, with another one hundred and forty-two injured. We managed to capture three socialists, including one of the leaders, Colin Ramsay. Asgar’s gladiatorial arena was also hit, resulting in the deaths of four hundred and sixty-three citizens. Widespread fire occurred throughout northern Asgar, again caused by rebels. It is clear that these rebels pose a serious problem to the government and we must hunt them down and kill them all”
“Sir, is it also true that the UASSM crashed planes into Vorlori last night?” asked General Walters.
“It would appear that the UASSM did indeed crash several planes into Vorlori. It is believed they hit the town centre at around 8pm. There are reports of casualties, but at this moment in time it is unclear how many there really are. The government will make a public announcement tonight. But you should know, we are going to war against the rebels and against the UASSM.”
“Understood. Sir, one more question, if I may?” asked Maguire
“Proceed”.
“Is it true that the UASSM landed troops on our soil?”
“It is. However, only 25% managed to land, the rest were destroyed by our navy and air force. The black guard are working along with Romae to hunt down the rest. This invasion is nothing more than pest control. We will squash them within the week. Now gentlemen, I must prepare for my flight to Romae. I am meeting with Caesar. Goodbye”
The minister walked out of the room and Maguire turned to Walters.
“So sir, it looks like we are heading to war.”
“Yes, Yes it does” responded Walters.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Delera, Northern Asgareth

Phillip rose to the stage once more.
“Gentlemen, ladies. Last night we did ourselves proud. We stood up to our oppressors and showed them that they should fear us. As we speak, more and more are joining our armada. We will turn Asgareth into a democracy before the year is out. The UASSM distributed thousands of leaflets last night, and it is believed that 50,000 have been converted due to this operation. Our brothers will invade from the north soon enough, which is why we will now proceed with our primary objective. We will take over Asgareth, from the Bay of Blood to the River Imperius. Prepare, my brothers. Today is the start.”

Applause echoed throughout the area, and men stood up to receive arms once more. This time, war was inevitable.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

*Imperial Address*

Daniel Ross, Imperial Minister is to give a speech regarding last nights terrible events.

“Citizens of Asgareth, these are dark days. Evil forces are at work that seek to remove the stability and security that we have worked so hard to achieve for thousands of years. These forces have always attempted to stir trouble, but they are gaining in numbers and strength. I am of course, referring to last nights events in Asgar and Volori. To commit these acts of terrorism, against the Emperor and against Asgar is treason. These socialists will be found, and they will be hung. It is my duty, to ensure that Asgareth remains safe and so the honourable black guard has been ordered to mobilise and to hunt down socialists. The Imperial Secret Service informs me that the army and air navy can no longer be trusted, and so with immediate effect the armed forces bases will be shut down until such a time as the threat evaporates. The black guard will henceforth take charge of all military action. The naval force is currently training with Romae, and so is exempt from this lockdown.

I now call upon the citizens of Asgareth, do not associate with known socialists. If you see socialists, either call the black guard or shoot them. I am activating Order 193, which allows the public to shoot enemies to the state. The Peoples Army of Asgareth, as you shall be known will be our front line defence against these tyrants. Fight for Asgareth.

I now speak directly to the people of UASSM. You have launched terrorist attacks upon our nation. This will not be allowed. We therefore declare war upon the UASSM, and trust that our allies will do the same.”

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Altori Base, Northern Asgareth

The Black Guards were sat in the hall awaiting orders from Captain 1A-CD2. Silence swept across the hall as the captain walked up to the stands.
“Gentlemen. The army is in lockdown. The air navy is in lockdown. The naval force is in training. We are the only defence left in Asgareth. And we have our orders.” 1A-CD2 stated. “We know where the rebels are, and we know who is supplying them. For that reason, we are ordered to conscript civillians into the black guard. I know this is unusual. We all worked for years to get here, but the truth is Asgareth needs all the help it can get. Why else would it turn to the Romans? Or the religious scum? We need help. You are to head to army bases and sort out the traitors from the loyalists. Let the loyalists continue to work. What you do with the traitors…. I do not care.” 1A-CD2 walked off the stands and the black guard got up. War had begun.

Military meetings.

Postby The Fourth Reich of Pepe » Thu Jun 02, 2016 7:29 am

2nd June 2016

MEU (Military emergency unit) meeting, Alpha base, 7:43 am

Defence secretary Gonzalo Pepe -

It has come to my attention that forces from “Rome” and “Antirecta” have begun amassing. Our intelligence service has no accurate reading of the number of forces or weaponry they may possess, but they estimate that it is between 5,000-8,000 men. It has also come to our attention that during the past few weeks, many people have fled the country and it is our belief that they have found safe haven in Rome. Notable members include leaders from the anti-socialist groups.

General Pedro Pepe has set up an emergency contingency plan to deal with the current crisis.

The main points are:

Everyone has been issued with a guerilla war guide. It is mandatory to read this and there will be a test on it at the end of the week. Those who fail will be shot.

Everyone between the ages of 16-55 will be conscripted, regardless of religious beliefs, gender or disability unless they are deemed unfit for service. The rest will be evacuated to the “USSM” as part of our evacuation plan.

There will be compulsory training for all individuals conscripted to the military. This will occur once a day between the hours of 12 and 2 at a designated area near the workplace. Lunch has been outlawed.

We will purchase 15 million pepe’s worth of ghillie suits to be worn by persons conscripted into the army. They will also be armed with the latest weaponry we can muster, purchased from the “USSM”.

Anyone with qualifications to read and write will automatically be conscripted into higher positions in the military and secret service.

Most main roads into the centre of each Island are closed due to IED’s being put in place.

Anyone who is over the age of 55 and wishes to stay and fight for the fatherland may remain, but the option to leave will go as soon as the final ships have left.

These plans as of now are in immediate effect.

The pepean navy is on full alert and the air force is on stand by. Military assistance will arrive from the “USSM” in the coming days.

Emperor Yoo Si-Jin was to enter the small cabinet room soon after the meeting.

Yoo was quite a short man; quick, witty and dark of face with strong facial features. Every part of him was rather defined: short, lean arms, strong hands, a slim body and a bony nose with a magnificently long and curly beard. The general who he was to meet with was a rather huge man, with large, blue eyes, and broad shoulders; shapeless of face, with large expansive arms and fat hands; checks rounder than the sun. Yoo stepped nervously into the cabinet room. It was indeed quite a small room. Dancing light, projected from the one dying light in the room, flickered across the walls to an eerie rhythm. The single window, perched above the Emperor's seat allowed only a small amount of the sun in to pronounce the time of day. Pictures surrounded the room of past emperors and glorified generals, with small quotes written below them that were stolen from more literate and smart people. The room was painted in a dark oak wood colour, with visible splotches of white where the paint was wearing off. It probably wasn't very good paint.

He slammed down into the Tiger fur chair, took off his Stetson hat and wiped the sweat off his forehead with his forefinger and flicked it off. The general sat down opposite his desk, picked up the small glass of water that was set upon the oak wood desk and drank with large gulps, snorting into the water like an animal. It distressed Yoo slightly that this man was his general, but he knew what he was capable off. Although the man was a complete baboon, he knew how to fight a war and how to rally his fellow countrymen. He was a symbol of the nation; a hero.
Emperor Yoo had no time for small talk, and cut straight to the point.

Emperor Yoo Si-jin: How long will it take to have our military fully operational? It is vital that we are at full strength when we are eventually attacked. I want the secret service to step up their game and find out more! (constantly presses finger on table)

General Pepe: Our military is already being put in to place to protect coastal positions. The deployment on our far western Island is as follows:

6 infantry regiments are manned at the coastal defences in the areas most likely to be assaulted by the Fascists. The 23rd and 17th Static regiments along with 9th are facing the area to the east. The 4th Static regiment, with the experienced 6th Parachute Brigade attached, has been moved there today to reinforce the defences. The 32nd Infantry regiment is a well-trained veteran field formation, and has recently arrived in the west. This amounts to around 9,000 men. 3 tank companies are being deployed to areas of most probable attack, amounting to 42 tanks in total. Artillery is being placed as far inwards as possible to assist both fronts. It is not very probable that they will attack from the north due to the mountainous terrain and lack of sizeable beaches to land a large force. We have however manned small machine gun brigades to halt any small attacks. The rest are due to be evacuated.

Other Islands are following the same protocol, but the amount of men obviously vary sir. At our capital Island, we have 80,000 men arranged similarly. Other Islands have smaller forces but proportionate to size and importance. Overall our active mobile military adds up to 200,000, spread across our Islands. Majority of our standing navy is located at the capital and far eastern Island with the USSM navy protecting our outer territories.

(The general stood up sternly, and sighed heavily.)

Emperor: Excellent. Operation CuChi? (inquisitive looking face. Fingers stroking chin)

General: In place sir. Should be operational by the end of the week also. We have the whole population working on it. (He grinned with a sly look)

Emperor: Evac? (Continued inquisitive look. Finger stroking intensifies. Friction from his beard begins to heat up)

General: Sorted. (His sly grin grew slightly, but began to look as if he was having a stroke)

Emperor: Excellent. General, come with me. We have other matters that we must discuss about the operation and evac.

See to it that the Admiral begin the evacuation immediately. I want half the people off this Island by tomorrow night. Send a letter to our enemies and ask them to spare the evacuees. They have nothing to do with this war. The old and young should not be harmed, even by the most wicked of men.

Orwell stood before the Council, feeling as if on trial for a heinous crime, a massacre, though it wasn't just the disapproving glares of his fellow councillor's that gave that him this dreaded feeling, but his own conscience, reminding him that by his decisions he'd killed thousands of his own people and innocent bystanders. The current speaker of the Council, much to Orwell's despair, was his long time critic, Adam Connolly. He knew the focus of this meeting would be reminding him of his failures, rather than focusing on fixing them and planning.
"You" began Speaker Connolly, "are responsible for the deaths of roughly 3300 of our countrymen." These words hung heavily in the air. Though he didn't show it, Orwell felt the deepest grief and remorse; but he knew it had to be done. Showing these emotions might only incriminate him, or express incapability. He had to be strong and professional: he knew what he was doing and they had to see that.
"Not to mention the deaths of who knows how many innocent Asgar's..."
"I object to that particular accusation Speaker" retorted Orwell, barely able to hold his resulting rage. "While my order caused the deaths of our people, this is true, the deaths of the Asgar's comes only as a result of Asgareth's and worse so Rome's oppressive actions, and their smear tactics, dedicated to making our cause look like mindless terrorism. Nothing could be done in this regard." Orwell felt much more at ease to see many of his fellow councillor's nodding in understanding. "As for the 3300 I am responsible for; it's to be expected. I know our nation's never went through any particular violent upheaval, but when you're fighting a real revolution against brutes, causalities are unavoidable. It's just a shame that more died and less was achieved than I had hoped." He almost added that he expected as much, but he thought the pessimism would be counter-productive. "Focusing on these unavoidable failures achieves little. I assure you I only did what I did after much consideration of the alternatives. This was the best outcome. So can we please move on to what we are going to do rather than dwelling on what is done?"
The Speaker Connolly paused, his look of disdain unshakeable. "I personally believe that Councillor Orwell has proven dangerous and incapable, and believe he should step down, all in favour of his dismissal raise your hand" there were a few hands up, then a few more half-heartedly, but the Council didn't appear committed to the idea. "Fine, raise your hands if Orwell should be allowed to continue his work and we should go on to the next order of business." A third of the room raised their hand, and more reluctantly raised their hands after. It was close, but Orwell was safe. "What do you propose then Albert? We have the invasion of the Pepe's to deal with now along with your revolution in Asgareth."
"While it's certainly a difficult situation, there is little we can do for the Reich. In terms of man power I propose we send advisors and generals, well versed in defense and ambush, as well as our finest guerilla commandos. I'd suggest doctors and medics as well. A part from that we'll send whatever supplies we can spare: medicine, weaponry and food. Luckily we've already began preparations for taking refugees. In fact we're more than prepared; we're getting less than expected since the conscription is incredibly inclusive."
"All in favor?" The response was almost unanimous.
"As for Asgareth. While the falsified terrorism is less than ideal, we still have some successes. We've recruited another 1250 into our revolutionary ranks, so we currently have 2500 men operating in the region. The propaganda was more helpful than expected, with an estimated 50'000 sympathizers gained as a result. However we did admittedly not manage to eliminate any military targets or liberate any political prisoners. There is also the matter of the autocrat factions of the revolutionary coalition. While opinions of me among the coalition as a whole is mixed, the Stalinist's pose a serious threat. They don't like collaboration and compromise, and the recruits we get are often as a result of the terrorism acts. When they find that we actually aren't a part of the barbarism, they become disenfranchised and I believe the Stalinist's appeal to them. That is the situation. As for the action, I don't believe I require anymore support from the UASSM."
"And your plans?"
"Are still in development. I'll be back at Coalition HQ in a few days, and I'll let the council know of any developments."
"Very well." Speaker Connolly sneered. "Council dismissed."

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Orwell had returned Coalition HQ. He entered the meeting room where the party elites did their usual squabbling. "Good evening" spoke Orwell, to which he was greeted with glares. "The warm welcome is appreciated..."
"We're losing Orwell." Benjamin murmured, ominously.
"Indeed, and it's all my fault. I'm sure you Stalinist's could've handled this whole situation far better from the start, because as you know it's very simple. Not to mention Asgareth and Rome are incredibly good sports who fight with honour and prestige. How could we lose?"
"Do you think this is some kind of joke?!"
"No you cretin I don't think this is some kind of joke... I think you are a power hungry moron and a traitor who is planning against me because he thinks that somehow more terrorism will fix this!"
"You are the traitor! You're just a foreigner! And you're soft and you're fo-"
Wollstonecraft interjected "Gentlemen, insulting each other isn't achieving anything. May we get on to a plan of action?"
"Yes, you're quite right Simone" Orwell said, regaining his composure, "excuse my previous sarcasm but my patience is waning."
"What do you propose we do next?"
"We have 2500 men. I wish to do mass liberation attempts. Try our previous objective and freeing political prisoners, and free any of my men that were captured on the way here."
"That's it?"
"Yes, that's it. Meeting adjourned."
Orwell strode to his personal quarters. He had his own plans, but he had no intention to share with the others. They would just get in the way. He hoped it might get the people moving, for "those who do not move, do not notice their chains."

Gaius Octavius Howardus Caesar was internally seething. The Asgarthian emperor had informed him that he would not be turning up for the state visit and Caesar had received truly shocking news from the Imperial Security Bureau. He had turned out in full ceremonial armour to receive his allies and was surrounded by 10 of the best of the Praetorian Guard (turned out likewise), a grand procession had been planned through Nova Roma and he had personally planned a treat for his adoring people and a simultaneous lessons for the rebel scum ah well another day...not that the socialist scum in the UASSM or The Fourth Reich of Pepe would see another day. Caesar permitted himself a vengeful laugh aloud, drawing a strange mixture of curious and terrified looks from the slaves and courtiers scrambling to get out of his way like the rats they were, the ones that dared to look at him anyway.

Caesar was striding towards the antechamber of his throne room, its enormous size often left visitors wondering if it was itself the room that housed the Golden Throne of the Caesars, to say nothing for it excessively ornate decorations. Caesars good friend and ally Ian Mckellen and his entire staff had been hurriedly escorted their before the news broke out, Ian was dressed in a robe whiter that that the gods must wear and held proudly the white staff of his office. Caesar approached and greeted him warmly "Salve Ian, i am sorry for the interruption to your visit but some frankly disturbing news has surfaced" Ian turned to face him and replied with a mixture of warmth and mild concern 'what is the meaning of all this Gaius? What news has been brought to your attention that required me to be rushed away?” Caesar paused a moment and replied with great sorrow in his voice “I am sorry to tell you this Ian but we have received definitive proof the Asgar emperor has been dead for 1500 years and the council have been ruling ever since, who have since been corrupted and infiltrated by the vile socialists" he paused again after seeing the shock on his friend's face before continuing "it is why the Asgar have been holding back our war effort." Ians sadness and outrage could be clearly heard as he said “good god, these socialists are vile creatures, they murdered poor lord aubergine. Why it is only right that we do what his highness would have wanted. We need to wipe these brutes from the face of the earth”. Caesar grinned wolfishly “we are already on it, the Roman military is on Defcon 2 and our nuclear arsenal is being prepared, we will be able to eradicate these socialists once and for all, won't you join me in my war rooms? will address my people and we can watch the fireworks" “very well let us depart.” Caesar turned and addressed his guard “escort his excellency's staff to the war room's, him and I will use my private entrance” “yes Imperator” they all barked in unison before hurrying to obey. Caesar gestured for Ian to follow him into the throne room. The palace AI sensed his approach and swing open the richly decorated gold doors, for the millionth time Caesar gazed in wonder at the splendor that was the throne room the walls paneled with the finest gold and marble encarved with the history and glory of the Roman people, as he passed he saw Aeneas fighting Turnus, Scipio Africanus at the Battle of Magnesia, Iulius Caesar crossing the Rubicon, Augustus at the Battle of Actium and Belisarius at the Battle of Dara just to name a few. Even in such dark times it warmed Caesars heart to see the beauty and glory of the center of the Roman world. The Golden Throne of the Caesars. He and Ian quickly approached the throne and Caesar indicated for him to stand on the high dias. Caesar took his ancestral seat and felt the achievements of his noble ancestors and the blessings of the gods flow into his very core. This was the right thing to do. Caesar activated a switch embedded in the throne and the dias began to rapidly sink down into the deep earth where the war rooms where. He and Ian appeared where he knew they would right in the heart of the main war room, surrounded by hundreds of the finest minds in the empire and its military masterminds all of whom upon seeing their Imperator on his resplendent gold throne jumped to their feet and cried as one “hail Caesar!” Ian whispered in Caesar's ear “with devotion like this Gaius, how can we lose?” Caesar smiled/

Caesar pointed to Gnaeus Licinius Macro, his lead technician and one of the most intelligent in Rome “put me on the air” he demanded "yes my lord Caesar" the green light on the camera facing him showed he was on air Caesar cleared his throat and began "Citizens of Rome and the Charter, for too long have we allowed the Socialist menace to plague the Charter, I hereby announce that we will launch a series of tactical nuclear strikes on the United Anarcho-Socialist States of Man and the Third Reich of Pepe however first my friend and ally from Antirecta wished to address you all." Ian stepped forward and began is his powerful voice Good people of Nova Roma, I stand before you as a trusted ally and friend of your noble and courageous emperor. Our two nations have stood alongside one another like brothers internationally for centuries and will do so for many more. The military might of your legions has been tested by the pepean rebels whose people we attempt to liberate, your brave husbands, brothers and sons in the name of your emperor destroyed a large force of these rebels and took a key strategic stronghold all without suffering a casualty. I am proud to have my forces stand beside yours, together we will destroy these rebel scum *cough* in the words of the great goddess lady gaga we must let the blood and bruises define our legacy, this liberation from the disease of socialism will lead to casualties but we can not be afraid to face our fears. We will stand and as a united power we will destroy the pepean rebels. it is our unity that leads me now to officially declare war on the pepeans illegitimate government as well as on the UASSM. Our good ally the emperor of Asgareth is dead and his council has been corrupted by these rebel scum and it is this reason that in his name both our nations declare full unrelenting nuclear havoc upon the scum of the earth. Heil fascism. Together Nova Roma, we will be victoriussssss!!!!" Caesar could imagine the jubilation in Rome and Antirecta alike and he would bring their cheers to a new height and addressed them with all the pride and strength he could muster "I Gaius Octuavius Howardus Caesar, Descendant of Aineas, Descendant of Iulius Caesar, Imperitor of Romae in perpetuum, Autocrat of the Roman peoples and beloved of Jupiter Maximus hereby, on behalf of all the regimes dedicated to law and order give the order to fire our nuclear arsenal on the socialist scum, may Jupiter Maximus bless us all!" The entire control room cheered as the command was relayed to selected Roman missile sites and submarines. Caesar sat back in his throne he and his allies had saved them all.

OOC: The scripts posted below are declared non-canon. Firstly, this section in Romae's third script clearly shows the intention of nuclear weaponry, despite previous discussions informing him of the the consequence. I would also like to point out that the section regarding my nation is false.

To further demonstrate his desire to break both OP rules, another section is posted below

Again, a direct violation of OP rules. As a result the nation of Romae in perpetuum is hereby banned from this RP and his last script declared non-canon.

Finally, the speech that I know was provided by the nation of antirecta proves an intention to commit nuclear attacks. This is a clear violation of one rule, and as he is aware that I had ruled on this is also a violation of the second. Again, his statements about my nation are false

I will issue a warning to the nation of antirecta and WILL scrutinise his next post, which coincidentally follows this.

Following the incident below, the nation of antirecta is banned for general malpractice and violation of the two rules

Asgarthian Civil War

Postby Otherkin-dom » Wed Jun 08, 2016 3:34 am

~ Begin transmission ~

This is an announcement from God-Emperor Dragonhawk, True Leader of Otherkin-dom

"The great nation of Otherkin-dom declares its alliance with the power that is Asgareth. Despite our conflicts in the past, we unite in the face of a common enemy.

Do you think it is wise to stand in the path of a powerful unified force such as this? It is not. I advise that all enemies of the Asgareth/Otherkin-dom alliance quickly decide which course of action to take."

Lenska Stalnsky was on her way to arrange a multi-national conference to negotiate the safety of her nation in the current war. Her orders from High Command were simple: "Negotiate peace and safety, no alliances, not unless we are forced into the war. Use whatever means you have at your disposal.". That's exactly what she planned to do. She'd even go shopping for a cute outfit for the occasion.

She scanned her pass and walked through the chrome sliding door to the communication room. She felt eyes on her as soon as she walked in, but she was used to it now. Long periods of time with no contact with the opposite sex did that to people. Fortunately she had more control over herself, and couldn't let anything distract her from the task at hand. She sat down at her desk and began spinning her web to catch her little flies of diplomacy.

This would be fun.

Prelude 4

*New Orders Received*
“Captain, report back to base XXX. New orders will be received there.”

Reynolds sighed. Seriously? What were his superiors thinking? He had spent weeks in an attempt to infiltrate the socialists, and had got nothing out of it. And now he was being recalled? What could possibly be so important? Had the emperor died? No, the emperor was an eternal God. Were we under attack? From whom? THe United Anarcho-Social States of Man ? Unlikely. Pepeland? Laughable. Lazori? The cowardly socialists would never dare attack us. This made no sense. Reynolds brewed on this for an hour but curiosity took the better of him. He left his small apartment on Northangel street, and headed back towards his barracks.

Upon arrival at his barracks he walked straight to Major John Smith’s office. After checking that the major was free, he walked straight in.
“Ah, James! Welcome back” the major said, whilst he dunk a chocolate biscuit into his mug of tea. “Please, take a seat. Can I offer you anything? Tea? Coffee? Apple juice?”
“No sir. I am fine thank you”
“Digestive? Rich tea? Bourbon?”
“Absolutely fine sir, thank you” the captain said
“How about a back massage? Edna does the most fantastic massages known to man.
Reynolds looked back at the Majors 72 year old secretary, with a dodgy hip and grandma look.
“Sir, I am completely fine. I hear I have new orders?”
“Ah…. Yes. Well, what with the nations of Romae in Perpetuum and antirecta accidentally launching nukes at themselves, and wiping out their populations, the nations of Pepeland and UASSM believe victory is inevitable. For that reason, we have decided to launch a small naval invasion of UASSM. It is hoped, that by invading UASSM, we can prosper in the upcoming Peace Conference talks in Lazori, which shall be attended by Edgar W. Larkin. This invasion will take place in one weeks time, and we have established a 3000 strong regiment led by Colonel Jimmy Carlson. I will be in charge of 5% of ground troops, and I would like you to journey along as my second hand man.”
“Sir. I am honoured. But, are there not more pressing matters at hand? For instance, didn’t the UASSM just invade us? And didn’t some of their troops escape?” responded the Captain.
“Quite so, and an impressive battle is war too” the major said enthusiastically. “Blood, guts, gore. More blood. More guts. A bit more blood. Absolutely fantastic!”
“Right. Anyway sir, surely our priority should be to go after the UASSM troops currently on our own soil?”
“Hey. These orders came from above. Be sure to carry them out. I will send you a list of crew who I believe best fit our little cohort, some of whom you may well recognise.”
“Yes sir.” The captain said before walking back to his quarters.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Meanwhile, at Alori Base, the Black Guard had assembled in order to discuss mission plans.
“Gentlemen. The emperor has ordered us to round up the remaining few UASSM troops left. We are to capture them, and either torture them or feed them to the peasants.” said 1A-CD2. “We begin in the North, where we believe the majority are currently based. After that, we head west in the hope of destroying reported rebel bases.”
“Sir, are the socialists well armed?” asked 3L-AS8. “If so, would it not be easier to conduct bombing campaigns?”
“It would be. But the difficulty we face is that these socialists are widely spread out, and so a bombing campaign would be ineffective. Ground forces are our only option.” Replied 1A-CD2.
“Surely this is a task for local security forces anyway sir? Not for the black guard? Asked 5C-BS3.
“This is true. We are an intelligence force, feared for our torture. We should not be foot soldiers. 8E-GH4 responded.
“Gentlemen, please. These orders came from the emperor, and whilst they may be unusual we must follow them” responded 1A-CD2. “If that is everything, roll out”
“Yes sir” voices echoed throughout the base.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

5:30 pm

James Reynolds received one hundred and fifty files, detailing those chosen to lead the way in the invasion. He was pleased to see familiar names such as Sgt. Jefferson, Lieutenant Wilson and Corporal Williams. He was tasked with briefing his senior officers; lieutenants Wilson, Daniels and Jackson.

“Gentlemen, we are tasked with invading UASSM next week. You have been selected to serve under myself. Due to the top secret nature of this mission, neither you or I will be told anything until we actually get there. But I do need to know if you are prepared to be deployed.”
“Sir, why are we attacking UASSM? Surely we have larger priorites?”
“I am afraid not so, Wilson. The emperor has personally ordered this offensive”
“And why did he pick us sir? We just came back from Otherkin-Dom. Our lads are exhausted. Can he not choose someone else? Asked lieutenant Daniels.
“The emperor has ordered it gentlemen. It is our duty.”
“Hang on sir. Aren’t we in lockdown?” asked Wilson
“Not for much longer. We have a public announcement within the next hour. If that is everything, then you are dismissed.”

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

*Begin Public Announcement*

Imperial Minister Daniel Ross walked up to the stand. “Ladies and gentlemen, we face troubling times. Our former allies Romae and antirecta have betrayed themselves. For a short time we were ally-less. However, it is my honour to inform you that the great Otherkin-Dom has entered the war on our side. Let me take this opportunity to thank the leaders of Otherkin-Dom. Victory is closer than ever, and for that reason I will rescind my former orders and announce the unlocking of the air force and army with immediate effect. We will take the war to UASSM in the name of the Emperor. Long live the emperor! Long live Asgareth!

Diplomacy

Postby Lazori » Tue Jun 14, 2016 12:52 pm

Lenska had finally managed to get comm links to her little spiders. It had taken far too long, but what can you expect when all foreign communication links become encrypted in the event of war? Still, it was worth the effort in the end. After all, her efforts could secure total peace and security for Lazori. This, she could not afford to mess up.

The computer began patching through and linking up the individual communication threads. Lenska straightened her shirt, pulling it tight across herself to highlight her curves, and loosened an extra button.

'Appeal and persuade, Lenska. Appeal and persuade.' The thought went through her head a few times until it calmed her heightening anxiety. One last check that she looked the part before sitting down, and she was ready.

Her computer finally connected all of the communication links. She smiled sweetly and began.

"Greetings. My name is Lenska Stalnsky. I represent the strong and noble government of Lazori. I have contacted you all in this troubling time to discuss treaties of peace. I am not concerned about your individual relations with each other, the treaties are solely for peace Lazori. If you wish to continue fighting one another, then do so, but my government - nor my country - does not wish to be dragged into this conflict. I would like assurance from you all that we will be left in peace, and that you can offer us something provided we can give something in return. What say you?"

Their eyes were trained on her and her alone. This was good. Now all Lenska had to do was wait for their answer.
