[Eutristan]

Charles Read stared deeply into the dark cherry wood of the Crisis Room, wondering what Louwrence Cornelis would change. Jahe Davmwoem had shown an alarmingly fast rate of government resignations and elections, although they seemed stable enough. Charles had found that Gehard Johan had been a great man, and Gehard and him had always been able to work well together. This room had been the site where many of terrible incidents had been dealt with, most recently the Basso-Estena crisis. Although there was no crisis in Louwence coming over, the Crisis Room had been picked for its elaborate decoration, with heavy wood beams and cabinets abounding.

Charles began to analyze the situation, as any foreign adviser must do in order to make decisions. Louwrence had shown himself to have enormous support in Jahe, so he could not be dealt with lightly. He had spoken well before, and it only furthered his support in doing so. He could potentially reach higher positions than he currently occupied, and so it was essential the meeting went well. The alliance held in the balance. It would take much more than this meeting to severe the bonds, but it could set in motion something that Charles hoped he would never see. A hostile Jahe. Eutristan had adversaries in the past, but they had been pacifist and therefore easily invaded. Jahe was a different animal.

His thoughts were cut short when the heavy wood doors opened, revealing Louwrence and a new future for all of Eutristan.

[Jahe Davmwoem]

Louwrence walked in with the confidence that he was beloved for at home. He wore his typical attire of a suit and lightly shaded glasses. While this was his first foreign meeting, he was not worried. He was not called the Silver-Tongued Baron for nothing, his ability to speak had kept the city of Highrock in stability despite the many incident that could have made it happen otherwise. He loved the room he was brought into. It reminded him of the elegance of Highrock.

He walked up to Charles Read and said with hand outreached "Charles Read, it is a great pleasure to have arrived in your most beautiful country. Also it is a great honor to finally meet you. My esteemed predecessor spoke so very highly of you."

[Eutristan]

"Thank you my fine sir," replied Charles, "If it is quite alright, I'd like proceed to the bulk of where this meeting will occur. The Jahe Davmwoem--Eutristan alliance. Do you have any new propositions for it? Any changes? Sorry if I seem rushed, but I'd like to get as much done as possible."

[Jahe Davmwoem]

"Now, a friendship is not something to be rushed" laughed Louwrence "But I understand. We as a nation want to thaw our relationships with our rivals, or at least most of them. We can't simply send an Imperial fleet or army to every corner of the world we do not agree with. But obviously this will require a certain degree of support from your side. We will not threaten ourselves by acting without knowing our ally's motives."

[Eutristan]

"I'm glad you've brought that up," Charles said, "As long as Jahe Davmwoem remains none hostile we will continue to supply them with Eutristinian intelligence on both ours and our enemies positions. Although Eutristan will be more than happy to supply Jahe with military aid, but under two conditions; Both Jahe and Eutristan have unanimously decided to declare war, or Jahe is in danger of being invaded. Eutristan has realized over its history that it is best to not cause rivalries through war. Moving on, there is currently no trade agreements between us. We would be more than happy to have you as a trade partner, we just need to know your interests."

[Jahe Davmwoem]

"We are by the grace of God self-sufficient in the lines of food. Our fertile valleys provide very well for us. However, as our industrial sector increases, so will our need for resources. I can not say what we will need in the future, but an agreement would be a great first step. Also, it would be wise to note that I have no authority to agree to deals for materials of high interest to the state, such as steel, oil, and uranium. If you want those, you would have to go to Markus."

[Eutristan]

"In that case, I guess we will have to go to Markus," replied Charles, "We, much like you, rely on foreign raw materials. We do it in order to save our environment. Speaking of environment, is there any other intentions for these new nuclear plants? As in weaponry?"

[Jahe Davmwoem]

"Well, as you may have heard, we have built one power plant, and have two in the planning. However, most believe that two are sufficient for powering the whole nation. So, what is the third meant for? It is meant to enrich Uranium. While Markus and I wish peace, we believe that a vital step in securing our nation's independence for years to come is building Nuclear Weapons. We have talked long on this, and we have decided that we will pledge to never go on the offensive with them. We wish to maintain them as a line of defense, mostly physiological. Many think twice before attacking us already, but those few foolish few who don't will think again when we have the bomb. I surly hope that you have no issue with this."

[Eutristan]

"I see," said Charles, "Well, moving on, how do you expect to prevent unnecessary diplomatic rivalries? As you may have recognized recently Markus has done nothing to prevent this."

[Jahe Davmwoem]

"Well, quite simply, Markus is a young man. I am older than him by 14 years. I know the difference between radicals and moderates. He does not. He is shaken by his memories of the past. He was born into the worst time period of our nation's past dictator, the point where he become afraid of his own shadow. This is not helped by the young man having to witness the mental breakdown of his father. We don't speak of it much, but he was hardly there anymore. It was officially PTSD from an assassination attempt, but his memories began to leave as well. I remember a few months before his death, he was walking in the garden with me. I was always his favorite nephew. He stopped all of a sudden, looked onto the flag of our nation, and asked "What is that piece of cloth? I feel that it means something, but I can't remember." The only thing keeping him alive was his love for family. But back to what I was saying, Markus first saw his father go through this mental breakdown. His last day with his father, two days before poor Albert's death, he yelled at Markus and Angela to get out because he thought they were strangers. Two days later, he was thrust onto the throne. I am however happy to say that he has calmed since then, and often asks me for advice on how to handle his stress. I think with time he will mellow out, and we will be able to keep from useless rivalries."

[Eutristan]

"Good," said Charles. "Do you have any plans to figuratively upgrade positions in the government? A more executive position?"

[Jahe Davmwoem]

"I do not typically speak of such things to people I do not know well, no offence. Let me just say that I will serve where Jahe needs me, and right now, she needs me in the position of Civilian Director."

[Eutristan]

"That is respectable," said Charles, "Last question that I have, and it is important. Would you like to establish a constitution for our alliance, and open it to other nations?"

[Jahe Davmwoem]

"I am open to that, but we will be very selective on how we want to establish relationships with. I think that The Western Isles could use a conservative christian economic/military alliance, don't you?"

[Eutristan]

"It could benefit us a lot, but we would have to have two statuses. The first, administrator, will be gained in the event of a conservative government that honors Christian values and has a military receiving 5% of funding. The second, member, would be given to conservative governments that have at least 2% funding."

[Jahe Davmwoem]

"Of course. We ask that this pact be defensive expect on a case by case basis. We do not want an alliance dragging our soldiers into countries that most Imperials never heard of."

[Eutristan]

"That is something neither I or you want," said Charles, "Well I guess that concludes the meeting. I'm glad I could meet you. May our friendship last long, like the alliance."

[Jahe Davmwoem]

"Yes, it was a great pleasure. A true honor to see your country."

[Keomora]

Aure Laiu (Diplomatic Room), Palace of the Emperors, Keomora
President Darkwill hoped that the "Civilian Director" Louwrence Cornelius would be a reasonable man, if the epithet of Silver Tongued Baron had any indication. After all Keomora could not afford an enemy so close to its border... especially after the spectacle in Aruia. He sighed to himself as he finished drinking his coffee. The meeting with the Civilian Director would have its importance... not as grand as the meeting between Katherine and Emperor Cornelius but important enough to mend or severe whatever diplomatic ties the two countries had. Leaning back on his chair he was both pleased and a little anxious to hear that the Civilian Director landed in Ayaian Airport a few minutes ago and will arrive by Helicopter courtesy of the airforce. He immediately summoned the staff and began to walk outside to greet the Director in person, with members of the 7th Company landing in full attention, the honor guard to meet and bedazzle the incoming diplomat.
"Here goes nothing" he said to himself as he waited patiently outside with his staff as the sound of a helicopter propeller grew louder in sound and the aircraft visible on the horizon.

Louwrence Cornelius stood in the Helicopter as he had been instructed to by his escort. He wore his trademark lightly shaded glasses and suit.

[Keomora]

The helicopter landed smoothly and from it stepped forth the Civilian Director, wearing a classy suit and his trademark lightly shaded sunglasses. President Darkwill hoped that the slight walk didn't offend him but he knew that the next part would be enjoyable. As Louwrence walked past the 20 guards standing on both sides of the way a flicker of surprise was evident on his face as every pair he walked by saluted in synchrony.
"Welcome to Keomora," he said neither coldly nor warmly with steely eyes that betrayed nothing but years of experience as he took out his hand, "I hoped you found our greeting and transportation to your liking?

[Jahe Davmwoem]

"Yes, the transportation was rather nice, I enjoyed a good talk with the personnel on it. I also congratulate you on your guards and their excellent training." Louwrence may have betrayed a little bit of surprise on the walk, but now he spoke firm with a matter of fact tone, a skill he learned very well after being Baron of Highrock since the founding of the Holy Empire.

[Keomora]

"Ah yes, thank you" he replied as he shook the Director's Hand. "Our soldiers pride themselves on discipline, and being able to carry out almost any task. "Let me escort you inside to where we will discuss the rather delicate issues of our two countries but before we do that I have something to show you. I do hope you have some fondness for art?

[Jahe Davmwoem]

Yes, the Cornelis family proudly advocates art, and I personally am a patron of it."
