Ser Hannah Forrester
Star Destroyer Ser Alvis Jenson, Tide’s Edge Star System

It was another routine morning aboard the Star Destroyer Ser Alvis Jenson. It’s Shipmaster, Ser Hannah Forrester, walked slowly onto the bridge of her ship, a mug of coffee in her hand and nodded her greeting to the Lieutenant of the Watch and the other Lieutenants and ratings manning their stations. It was early, but then ever since her capture she had stopped exactly sleeping well and after getting as much sleep as she ever did in a night she tended to get dressed, grab a coffee and head up to the bridge. Her Officers and Crew had gotten pretty used to seeing her so early, which was hardly a bad thing, and no one blamed her for the eccentricities she had developed since her ordeal. She strode along the length of the command walkway until she was stood at the viewports, looking out across the dorsal hull of her ship and, on the port side, the planet Tide’s Edge. No matter what had ever happened to her or ever would, she would still take some not unsubstantial comfort from the view of space and the wonders that surrounded it, or the powerful ships she had at her command.

As she sipped her coffee and looked out at space she was handed a report of the night watch, which she looked down at and began to read it. Another quiet night by the looks of it. But then anything but quiet would have been a bad thing, and almost certainly resulted in her, and the rest of the entire ship, being woken up, as it would likely have been an unknown, or potentially hostile, forces entering the system. It had been quiet for the last six months or so in any event, the last and most exciting incident had been the arrest of the now disgraced Admiral DeJure and his death at the hands of Princess June. It had been another period of consolidation and hit-and-run raids on House Keegan assets across the Frontier Sector, it was not the kind of campaign that anyone in the senior leadership of House Windtide wanted to be fighting. It was not a conventional fight, where maintaining the momentum was the most important, if they did that then the chances were that they would overextend and overtire themselves, not to mention that they’d likely suffer significant damage in every engagement and they couldn’t sustain that sort of punishment.

Of course Ser Hannah, whose aggressiveness factor had certainly gone up over recent months, was amongst those pushing Lord Kelso to launch another major attack, it had after all been nearly seven months now and although they were pecking away at the enemy’s supply lines they had not launched another major attack in some time. She knew that Kelso’s instinct was to be cautious, except when he was riled up, and to an extent that was a good trait in a battlefield commander, it made the chance of stumbling into an ambush less likely, but it had to be combined with a degree of aggression. She knew that Kelso had it in him, but he was always loath to get his people killed, although unfortunately he was going to have to learn to live with that if he was going to be the Lord he was born to be one day, much less to take back Tidespring.

Ser Hannah sipped her coffee again and looked down at her watch. It was unlikely that Lord Kelso was even awake at this point, probably still tucked up and curled up in bed.

Tide's Edge System
Star rating Destroyer Ser Alvis Jenson
Lieutenant Tatsua Von June IV

It was early by any clock and Lieutenant Tatsua Von June IV woke with a small yawn. She smiled, enjoying the embrace of her lover as she lay in bed with him.

The past months had been boring for June's side of things as well. The Raven's scouting mission had gone well, netting them some intelligence about Home Fleet and ship statuses. By the looks of things, most of the extra-system mining fleets had been recalled and now a powerful fleet of ships sat in orbit around Dracoixa. It seemed that new construction was also starting in the shipyards. The news broadcasts the stealth ship had picked up were actually a bit encouraging, if depressing. It was obvious Othan had imposed a sort of royal decree against freedom of the press and news all seemed the same, from scripts. But even scripts could not hide that Dracoixa was getting restless. Some 'violent' protests that had been put down had been reported about and reading between the lines there might actually be some sort of resistance on Dracoixa. It couldn't be big, or else Othan would squash them. But it was encouraging.

The Raven had also brought back a few ships with her. And by a few, that meant she'd brought back enough to turn the hodgepodge fleet June had into an actual small squadron.

Three other hawk cruisers, the Sweptis, Hawk, and Jacka had joined them, along with hyper-capable Shepards Runner, Max, Fido, Molly, Bailey and the lone tiger cruiser Kumal. Many of the ships had brought along extra containers of Snow they had had along with them(the tiger especially had brought along some containers that had been raided from the now empty extra-system claims.) The orbit of Tide's Edge had gotten a bit crowded, but it was a great step forward.

She was trying her best not to get too excited though as she remembered what today was. She didn't want to wake Kelso with her emotions and possibly freak him out because he thought something was wrong. So she just squirmed out of his arms, pushed him onto his back and saddled him. He was already waking up from her rough handling of him but she didn't care as she looked down with a smile.

"Good Morning My Lord." She practically purred, leaning down to give him a kiss as he woke up fully. "Sorry for waking you up so early, but I have something special for you today."
"And with a flap of his mighty wings, the Dragon left the ground, and spiraled into the night."

Lord Kelso Windtide
Star Destroyer Ser Alvis Jenson, Tide’s Edge Star System

Kelso woke slowly. He had had a reasonably late night. Ser William had spent most of the previous evening and night complaining about the number of ships that the Dracoixans had compared to House Windtide, not because he was concerned about them but rather from a pride perspective. Kelso had tried to point out that the Ser Alvis Jenson alone was probably capable of taking on the entire squadron, but Ser William had refused to surrender the point and had continued to make his arguments. In return Kelso had made the rather simple response that if Ser William wanted more ships he was going to have to persuade his father to get the ships he was building to ‘disappear’ and reappear in the service of House Windtide. Ser William had of course conceded that point and had surrendered that particular point and promised that he would do what he could. Kelso wanted new ships as much as Ser William did, but he knew exactly how to get what he wanted and all he had to do was turn Ser William’s attention to where it should be, specifically in confronting his father about the half-hearted support he was giving the cause.

With all that in mind it had been well after midnight by the time Kelso had got to sleep, and that was why he o only really started to stir when June climbed on top of him. Not that he was particularly displeased by that development, as his steadily hardening member began to demonstrate as she kissed him.

“Good morning, my Lady,” Kelso grinned. “There are worse ways to wake up.”

June leaned down over her lover. 'Well, I won't take TOO much time to give you a history lesson, that can come later." She said airly. "But today is a special day for us Dracoixans, The Day of the Dragon Sun. On this day we have many traditions, some of which I assume you will enjoy. One of the first is what happens in the morning when you wake, you will definitely enjoy."

"The young ones get to sleep in as much as they want, but the couples... well the couples" She grinned. "The couple start off the day with having fun in bed, tradition says its to bring good luck til next year!" She lowered her voice a bit, still grinning. "And a more... unofficial tradition is that the louder your partner is, the more luck you'll get. So My Lord, are you game?"
"And with a flap of his mighty wings, the Dragon left the ground, and spiraled into the night."

Kelso smiled up at June, he liked the sound of this particular holiday, certainly the way it started in any event.

“I am most definitely game,” Kelso replied with a smirk as he reached down and guided himself into her, like him she was already ready to go. “And we both know how unmodest you’ve got over the last year or so.”

June couldn't help smile as she toweled off her hair from the shower, still feeling that glow of pleasure from their morning activities.

Kelso certainly hadn't held himself back this time, and she was going to assume she had enough luck from this morning to last her for about two, maybe three years.

She chuckled at the thought and walked back out, picking up her uniform and beginning to get dressed. Once everything was on and straightened out, she pulled a small case of black face paint out of her pocket and began to apply it to her face carefully. Once she was done she checked in the mirror and smiled. the paint had dried and she was left with a black crescent moon on the right side of her face. Had she'd been at home, one of the Palace servants would of painted on a much more complex one, and probably dress her in a ridiculous dress, but the basic one she'd applied would do.

She turned back to Kelso. "Well Kelso, now that THAT tradition is over with." She couldn't a small chuckle, "The Day of the Dragon Sun is a celebration of Dracoixa, its founding and its traditions, but it also marks a special celestial happening in our solar system." She tapped her communicator and small hologram sprung of a basic looking star, planet and moon. "Dracoixa has only one moon, and it orbits pretty close to the planet. Not close enough to make trouble, but close. Once every Dracoixan year, around 3.6 Earth years, the moon rises directly where the sun is, creating a total solar eclipse for the entire 27 hour day across the whole planet." The hologram demonstrated and the moon cast a large shadow on the planet. "It makes it pretty much deep twilight for the entire day and honestly its...amazing to see all the night lights still on and such on the planet." For a moment she sounded a bit wistful, obviously missing her planet as she closed the hologram but she brightened almost instantly afterwards.

"Most people celebrate by painting a crescent moon somewhere on their body, and go see the 'twilight markets' that pop up selling crafts and items, or go to museums that are free on the day to learn history, or try to find a spot to watch the Grand Dragon Parade. We can't do that here, but we can do the meals, and I believe..." She looked at the time, "Its about breakfast time on Stalcor and I'm going to introduce you to a traditional Dracoixan breakfast. If you'll allow it," She said. "Moore told me that the hawk cruisers and the tiger can take aboard some extra personnel from your holdfast and ships if they want to come over and see what's going on. If we're celebrating, then why not let everyone in on the fun?"
"And with a flap of his mighty wings, the Dragon left the ground, and spiraled into the night."

Kelso turned to look as June returned to the room. He had thoroughly enjoyed the tradition that June had introduced him to this morning, and by the sounds of it they would have a very lucky year coming forward to say the least, if he did say so himself. He raised an eyebrow as he noted the face paint that she had painted upon himself, asking for an explanation of precisely what it was. She didn’t disappoint him and he listened with interest as she explained the traditions of this holiday that they apparently found themselves in the middle of, and the background to why it was celebrated. It certainly sounded interesting and he could hear the disappointment in her voice that she wasn’t there on the planet to enjoy it. In that moment before she brightened he made the mental commitment to make sure that she enjoyed herself as much as possible whilst she was here, and that he would do everything in his power to ensure that she did. If he couldn’t get her home he would make sure that she was able to celebrate the tradition as much as possible, he didn’t precisely know what that was, but he figured that a good way to do so was to throw himself into the celebrations alongside her.

“I’d love to have a traditional Dracoixan breakfast, I’ve tried a few things of your culture before, but not a full meal to say the least,” Kelso commented with a smile. “Furthermore I think that’s a wonderful idea, we’ve been working alongside each other for a while now, why not let some of my people get involved in this festival.”

"Good!" June said with a bright smile, she pressed a few buttons on her communicator to send a message to Moore saying he could make the broadcast to everyone. The Dracoixans would be running shuttles back and forth all day (and night) between their own ships, the holdfast and Kelso's own ships just for the occasion.

In fact as they made their way down to the hangar, a shuttle was already waiting, with a black crescent moon somewhat sloppily painted on it but still, it wasn't the skill of the painting that matter, only that one enjoyed themselves. The whole crew of the shuttle was likewise painted up, though seemed most had the moons painted on their hands and greeting both of them with warm smiles and of course respectful nods. The shuttle took off without further delay and space around the Dracoixan ships was already buzzing with shuttles as the shuttle they were on expertly wove through the traffic to the Stalcor. June's ship sat proudly in the small assembly of ships, like a queen on her throne. She'd been designated squadron flagship since June was deployed aboard her, and she looked right there almost. This small fleet was the beginning of a fleet that would take back her world and June loved seeing all these ships here. However, the hawk-cruiser still sported its swallow hologram as it has for the last year and half. Even though June's ships now outnumbered Kelso's June was still helping Kelso, she wasn't going anywhere, and the ships continued use of the swallow set up was a clear sign of who she was helping support here.

The shuttle bay was busy, June noted as she stepped out.

And pretty much everyone was happy. It was in the air, easily seem on peoples faces and in their emotions. Maybe that wasn't surprising if even half of the people awake right now had engaged in the kind of activities June and Kelso had.

To their right, on a blank bulkhead, some people finished drawing a giant black crescent moon on the bulkhead while others painted sayings of good luck, prayers and fun scribbles celebrating the day. Moore was standing off to one side, and despite the professional uniform he was wearing, even he had a small black crescent on his face, though just a small one. He walked forward, hands folded behind him.

'Welcome back aboard Lord Tidespring. I'm glad you were able to come join us for some of the festivities. We'll try not to go too crazy on you, but I hope you do enjoy some of it." He turned to June. "Now you Your Majesty..."

'Did you just call me Your Majesty?" June asked and Moore nodded.

"Well thats what your going to be today, since your the only royal we have around.... unless you want us mocking your title by crowning some technician as 'temporary king/queen' and having him or her walk around with a paper crown on like we like to do in the Navy."

"Ah no thank you." June said. "I'll accept my title back for the day."

"Good." Moore chuckled. "Now come to the officers mess. Breakfast is about to be served." He turned to lead the way and June of course fell in beside Kelso.

"Amazing how happy everyone looks." She said, looking around with a smile. It was amazing, seeing that even in exile, the Dracoixans had no intention of letting themselves get too down in the dumps. In fact, they wanted to foster even more friendship between themselves and Kelso's people, which is why they had opened up their ships to visitors from Kelso's people.

Kelso followed June through the corridors of the Star Destroyer until they reached the shuttle to head over to the Stalcor. As he looked around at the various Dracoixan personnel with a degree of bemusement and amusement at what was going on but he was determined to enjoy himself. As they set off to head over to June’s ship he looked around with the squadron and was very pleased with the progress that June was making, at this point they had a decent combat force at their disposal which gave June a wider range of options when it came to fighting to reclaim her throne. It also gave Kelso a few options as June had indicated that she was fully prepared to continue supporting his own campaign and the swallow holograms proved that. Given the amount of Dracoixans ships and their crews that were in the system he was hardly surprised to find the shuttle bay of the Stalcor bustling with activity, and he smiled as he saw how happy and excited they all seemed to be. But then given the first tradition of the day Kelso wondered how many of the people had participated in that particular tradition this morning as well.

“I’m sure I will, Captain Moore,” Kelso replied with a slight smile.

As they walked the corridors of the Stalcor he couldn’t help but smile even more at how happy everyone seemed. He knew how important morale was when it came to a particularly difficult campaign, indeed it was one of the most significant challenges facing him in his own fight, and it was good to see his people working closely with June’s. He was quite looking forward to this day.

The officers mess had been rearranged from the last time. The tabl had been brought together to form two long rows streching from one end to another. There seemed to be no order to where anyone sat, even the 'normal' groups seeming to blend together. There were a few people here that looked out of place, a few officers from others ships and even a couple of people who obviously came from the Kingdom.

Three seats at the head of the table were still empty and Moore waved June into the one at the end of the table while he sat to her left, leaving Kelso the seat her right. Over the intercom in the room, what sounded like classical music played softly.

"You know." June said softly. "This'll be the very first Day of the Dragon Sun thats been celebrated with a foreign dignitary and his people." She looked up at the stewards came out and began to pour drinks.

The first part of the breakfast was a simple selection of drinks, had this been on planet it would be much larger, but it was restricted to tea, coffee and juice that tasted sweet and tangy, the pulp making it almost smoothie like consistency. Talk was enjoyed wihile everyone waited and on today, rank seemed to be relaxed, respect was still observed, but even the other midshipmen got away with calling Moore 'Alexander' when asking him if they could play a 'modern synth' version of a classical song. Everyone though acknowledged June as Queen, Donovan taking the time to make an small serious speech before 'crowning' her with the paper crown, which was immediately 'accidentally destroyed' by June, much to everyones amusement.

Then came breakfast itself. Unlike the other breakfasts Kelso might of had with June (like waffles, cereal bars, or any other carb/sugar heavy thing that came up) this one seemed much more refreshing. It was a white-rice like plant, with a sweet topping to sauce made from some sort of milk and sweetened with honey just enough that it wasn't overpowering. On each plate beside the rice was a different large half of a fruit, sliced into strips. Accompanying the plate was a small piece of bread, already buttered and sprinkled with a light coating of Some sort of (what appeared to be) sugar. Decorating the plate was a green sprig of what smelled like mint.

"Your supposed to eat the mint first, then the bread." June explained picking up the sprig and eating it first.

The taste of the mint was near overpowering, and maybe a bit unpleasant, but upon finishing the spring and tasting the bread, the mint seemed to mix with the topping on the bread, making a light, airy, and cool taste that cleared the palate of whatever drink they had been drinking. It also seemed to wake up even the sleepiest looking person there, doing what caffeine had not been able to accomplish. The rice dish itself was warm and comforting, and as everyone started to eat it, people began to trade, slices of fruit with each other, or swaping plates entirely in case they didn't like the fruit they had gotten.

June herself had gotten a Sea-Mango, a light orange fruit, while kelso had gotten a softer red fruit called the Valley Orange. Both fruits were refreshing and enjoyable and of course the sharing was a part of a traditional Dracoixan meal, a tradition that often was discarded in the navy for easier meals to grow and make, that could be easily eaten before a shift.

Lord Kelso Windtide
HMS Stalcor, Tide’s Edge Star System

“Well, I’m happy to be here, my Lady.”

It was certainly an interesting meal to say the least. The atmosphere of the breakfast was incredible to say the least, with everyone getting together and celebrating this festival. He was pleased to see some of his own people had managed to make it over to the Stalcor to celebrate with them. It was good to see such cultural integration and interest. They had been living alongside, working alongside and fighting alongside each other on a regular basis for the past, it was good to see that they his people were taking an interest in their comrades in arms beyond more than a surface level. And he had no doubt that whenever there was something cultural unique to the Kingdom taking place that it was likely that there would be just as many Dracoixan’s partaking in the festival. Aside from anything else it would make closer co-operation even easier, and in the longer term it would also although for good diplomatic relations between the Kingdom at large and Dracoixa, which Kelso would be at the forefront of advocating in the months and years that followed his eventual success in reclaiming both his home and his rightful place within the Kingdom.

The meal itself was new, varied and enjoyable. He had tasted some Dracoixan food on a few occassions, principally in the early days when he had stayed aboard the Stalcor a whole lot more than he did these days, but this was his first taste of a full meal, particularly one designed to be eaten on special days. It was certainly elaborate and varied, and he absently wondered how they’d managed to get all this choice aboard the ships for this festival, although he rather suspected there had probably been some sort of military mission specifically to arrange for all this, but he wasn’t going to complain. He was quite enjoying himself, sitting with June and her people, tasting their food, enjoying their holiday and generally having a good time alongside his beloved.

June wasn't sure how they'd managed to get everything they needed for this meal. She knew that Stalcor's shipboard garden grew Valley Oranges and had a beehive aboard for pollination, (so that was the source of the honey,) but the other ingredients? June had no clue. Maybe she'd have to interrogate Raven's captain about that 'mission' she'd embarked on a couple weeks back without her approval.

But once the meal was over and the stewards had removed everything from the tables, everyone got up and tables and the benches they had been sitting on folded neatly into the deck, giving everyone room to mingle, some people left, whether to go work, relax, see about traveling to other ships or what not the crowd cleared out considerably. The music was turned up, still soft and people began to gather in groups around the edge while leaving the middle empty.

the music stopped for a moment then changed to something else, something that would, by any culture, be a slow dancing song, its melody sweet and soothing, this one had no words. A few braves souls stepped out first with their partners and began to dance. Some of them were a bit clumsy from inexperience and off to the side a woman was teaching her partner, a man from the Kingdom who looked to be a part of the ground troops, how to do the steps to this particular song. The dance was neither complex nor too simple. June watched as she stood beside Kelso.

She took a moment to consider if she should even ask, lord help her if she ever had to dance more then she ever had to, but she'd learned very, very young how to dance in the Palace.

"Do you know how to dance Kelso?" She asked, looking up at her lover, curious if he could. Most people could do basics, advanced stuff was left for the higher class balls and Royal parties.

Kelso eyed the dancing with suspicion.

Although being taught to dance was a standard thing for pretty much every highborn in the Kingdom his upbringing had not exactly been normal, and there had been things that he had missed. Ser Alvis had not exactly been the sort of person that Kelso could ask how to dance, nor had his lifestyle exactly been one where it would have been needed. It was perhaps somewhat unfortunate but it was something that could not have been avoided. Knowing that, once he had reclaimed his throne he would need to know how to dance for the various feasts and festivals he had asked Ser Hannah to teach him how to dance. Now given that she had always been more interested in martial matters than dancing she was perhaps not the best person to teach him, however she was one of his closest friends and, more to the point, she had actually had the lessons, even if she hadn’t particularly engaged all that much. It had also had the added side effect of getting her used to male contact again, and after their first few lessons she had stopped flinching at his touch at least, which he knew she was grateful for, she hated any sign of weakness.

Never the less he was still wary of displaying his dancing skills, or lack thereof, in a public setting like this. At the same time he had promised himself he would help her enjoy this day, and it wouldn’t do for the Lord to be sitting there watching instead of getting involved, especially in something like this.

So he put upon a mock hurt expression as he turned to her.

“My Lady, I am a Lord of the Realm, I assure you I know how to dance,” Kelso said curtly, albeit with a slight smile.

"Yes but do you like to dance?" June asked, as the song changed to something slightly more upbeat, and more people seemed to get involved this song. It was the natural order of the songs, it would switch between a more upbeat, then b ack to a slow song, it gave everyone a chance to join in and leave as needed, so that way no one would ever get confused as to why the dance that was supposed last only 4 minutes suddenly was 8 minutes long

"See problem with me is I know how to dance but I don't like dancing." She said.

Moore stepped up beside her. "Your Majesty, no ones going to make fun of your for having a dance with your partner."

"No but I'll feel like an idiot." She replied dryly. "Anyways while dancing is general enough I don't think Lord Tidespring would appreciate having to be taught on the spot some of the more... Dracoixan dancing motions so we don't trip each other up."

"Ah what a shame, you two are such a lovely couple too." His tone sounding disappointed, "I would of thought you'd two done something like that this morning." Now his voice almost completely innocent but it was quiet enough only June (and maybe Kelso) would hear.

Seems Kelso wasn't the only one with a talent for making her blush as June turned a glare upon her captain, he face red with embarrassment at what he'd been referencing. Oh everyone knew, subconsciously, that's probably what their princess did when she stayed over with Lord Tidespring, but to acknowledge it openly with the princess in question was something most people would not have the gall to do. Except Moore. He'd ribbed her once before on her activities and though he liked to keep his professional distance from his officers and their relationships, it was obvious he cared for June and the two seemed to have developed a deeper relationship. Not anything that would interfere with Kelso, no, Moore was too good a man to try and steal a woman from someone, but it was obvious that he'd come to care for the princess in his care deeply, even when he was making her blush.

Kelso smirked at Captain Moore's comment, watching in amusement as June blushed madly, as she was want to do whenever someone made a comment, usually in public, about the sort of things that she and Kelso got up to in private. He usually enjoyed making her blush, usually by whispering a lewd comment in her ear as they stood somewhere in public, and she rarely failed to do so. She might feel like it was rather embarrassing but as far as Kelso we concerned it was incredibly endearing and cute to say the least. It was partially foe that reason that Kelso enjoyed doing it so much, the other part being because he was in the ideal position to do so. As awkward as she might still sometimes be he knew that, deep down, she probably found it endearing too, and Kelso was always careful to keep an eye on her emotions whenever he teased her: the last thing he ever wanted to do was to upset her as he was studiously careful to avoid doing so. It was also a sign that Captain Moore, in the almost parental role he had taken on, approved of her partnership with Kelso if he was willing to acknowledge, and even make jokes about, the physical aspect.

Sensing her reluctance to take part in the dancing Kelso decided to take the initiative and grabbed her hand, ignoring her protests and guiding her forwards onto the dance floor.

"At least this way we can look daft together," Kelso commented, lips close to hers, as he held her close for the slow dance.

Lieutenant Tatsua Von June IV

June did her best to glare up at Kelso for daring to drag her into something she didn't care for, but as the last some trailed off, another song came on, this one soft and gentle and June immediately recognized the melody of the Starlight Waltz. The Starlight Waltz was an old song, not very long, but one of the more beautiful waltz songs June ever heard. It was written in tribute by its composer to honor the night and its beautiful stars, darkness and the comic beauty of the entire universe. It was probably the only waltz song she ever had enjoyed, as it had a beauty that called to her like joining the Navy had called her back when she had been 15.

So took a deep breath as the beginning chimes sounded soft and the two of them began to dance. The steps to this one were easy and basic, and after about a minute and a half in the room darkened and a hologram bathed the room in white specks of glowing stars as the music swelled up to its final part. As the song finished the stars remained glowing around them and it took her a few seconds to realize the two brightest glowing stars in the hologram was made a star chart marking Dracoixa and Arcadia out among the many white dots and she smiled.

"Okay, you didn't do too bad My Lord. You need some practice though." She said softly. "You're lucky they played the Starlight Waltz or else I never would of danced with you."
"And with a flap of his mighty wings, the Dragon left the ground, and spiraled into the night."

Kelso smiled as they danced through the waltz, his minimal skills being suffice to for the relatively basic, but no less beautiful and enjoyable for that, dance. Despite their relative lack of skills the pair dominated the dance floor by virtue of who they were. There were some very beautiful songs and dances in the Kingdom and this one certainly would rate quite highly and he made a mental note to have it added to the list of sounds that he would one day want this musicians to play in the hall of Tidespring. He noted the hologram come on to add to the effect but didn't realise what it was symbolising until the finish. At the end he found himself holding June close to him at the centre of the star chart as they looked around. He wondered if this had been planned before hand or whether it had been quick thinking on the part of Captain Moore or someone else watching the two lovers dance their reluctant first dance. In any event it certainly added to the atmosphere and he was glad that he had managed to persuade, or drag, her onto the dance floor for the waltz.

"I told you I knew how to do it, but I've not exactly had many opportunities to do it," Kelso commented softly s he held her close. " I'm sure you would have, you wouldn't have left me standing here would you?"

Kelso smiled lovingly down at her and, ignoring everyone around them, some now dancing again, others watching the dancing or talking, Kelso leant down and kissed her softly.

"I love you, Sweetling," Kelso whispered as he broke the kiss. "Happy Day of the Dragon Sun. my love."

June blushed a little at his kiss, "I love you too." She replied.

The next song was just a tad more energetic and June decided that if Kelso was going drag her out onto the dance floor, then she was going to keep him there, ignoring his protests this time. This dance was a little more complex, but it had been her mother's favorite and as such her mom had always loved it when she had practiced that dance and she'd become quite the little expert in it. Time had faded her knowledge, but muscle memory of what she and her partner were supposed to do came back with blinding speed. By the end of the song the two managed to make it work with each other, and when the song ended June leaned up against Kelso, laughing a little, but genuinely enjoying herself.

"Don't worry, I'm sure we can practice when you're not trying to beat me up with a sword. But you did good. You'll be able to dance well in no time." She said.

A steward seemed to magically appear with drinks, glasses of what seemed to be various types of alcohol. A quick glance at the time display put it around midday now, and June selected a small glass of wine as she moved back to the side of the room. She took a moment to enjoy her drink before looking up at Kelso with a smile.

"You know what I just remembered." She said watching the song change again to something even more energetic and most people hopping out onto the floor to join in. She looked up at Kelso. "If you marry me, that means you'll become King of Dracoixa... hmmm wonder how thats going to work. Wouldn't that technically mean since you'd be a King you'd be socially above Lord Howard?" While it seemed to be a serious topic, she was just sort of thinking about it and not in anyway trying to drag down the atmosphere. In fact she seemed amused by the idea the clash of titles would create.
"And with a flap of his mighty wings, the Dragon left the ground, and spiraled into the night."

Kelso enjoyed the second dance immensely. It may have been more complex and he may have not exactly known what he was supposed to be doing but the fact that he was doing it with June made it all worthwhile. It was almost as if the people around them didn't matter and they were just doing it for the sheer and simple enjoyment of it. There had been more than a few missteps and laughter during the dance and to an outside observer it no doubt looked a little odd. But it would also be incredibly obvious that the couple were having a great deal of dun and taking a great deal of enjoyment from the experience, even if they weren't doing it particularly right. When the song finished he laughed alongside her and her close to him again as she leant against him, and he looked down in her with nothing but heartfelt love in his eyes.

"I suppose we can swap one sort of dancing for another every now and then," Kelso agreed with a smile and an affectionate stroke of her cheek. "And there's less chance of us ending up with bruises that way."

Kelso took a glass of wine of his own and sat down with her.

"I think it would probably be a case of splitting my social standing depending on which title I'm operating under," Kelso commented thoughtfully. "If I was managing the affairs of Wind and Tide then I'd be Lord of Tidespring, if I was on a visit to the Kingdom as your consort, I'd be King of Dracoixa, a tad awkward for everyone concerned, but I'd just have to make sure I kept the two separate as much as possible."

Kelso looked over at her.

"Do you think we'll be able to?" Kelso asked her softly, not wanting to lower the tone of the day but wondering alongside her. "Get married I mean."

June looked back at Kelso and then down into her wine glass. It had been a long time since she'd actually consider the consequences of her relationship with Kelso Windtide, Lord of Tidespring. She'd just sort of forgot to think about it.

There were many things in their way to marriage, at least technically. At first meeting it had really just been her parents, but since their death, they couldn't bless the marriage so she'd have to get the courts to approve it and then she'd have to find a priest and church willing to bless the marriage. Dracoixa was a star nation with many religions, and so far all Kings and Queens had been 4th reformation Christan, so the head bishop would of blessed the marriage. So far no leader had ever been atheist so that was never a problem, but June, as a non-practicing 4th reformation Christan would probably have to find someone else to bless the marriage as she'd broken the 'stay pure till marriage, lest one forget the man or woman you will forever tie your heart and soul to' rule and they took that rule kind of seriously. there were other considerations, like the public's reaction to her marriage, and the political ramifications that the government might not enjoy handing over the crown to a man that was sworn to another nation.

"Well..." She said. "I don't know." Her voice soft. She moved over a bit closer to him. "there's a lot of stuff to consider and..." She shook her head, hating to think about marrying anyone else just because the courts wouldn't approve of Kelso. She wouldn't even consider the idea, she wouldn't do it. Someone else could be queen she wasn't going to have anyone else but Kelso in her life. June took another taste of her wine before looking up at Kelso.

"I don't want to have to love anyone else. You mean too much to me." She gave a small laugh, though there was a bit of bitter note to it. "It would be kind of funny if we got married now, don't need any political approval or anything like that out here and let all the government types and sticklers sort through the aftermath later."
"And with a flap of his mighty wings, the Dragon left the ground, and spiraled into the night."

As she moved closer to him he turned to better face her and took her hands in his. All things considered the potential obstacles to their marriage were more on her side due to her high station than on Kelso’s. A Lord he may be but he was only a middle-ranked Lord, he was no Lord Paramount or Warden, much less the King, so having a foreign spouse, whilst unusual, would not be a problem, politically speaking. Indeed given June’s high station many would see it as a very fortuitous match. Of course there would be some interesting questions when it came to inheritance down the line, as any potential child they managed to have, despite the odds, would be both King of Dracoixa and Lord of Tidespring, unless for the purposes of simplicity Kelso named a legitimised Alyssa as his heir and she took Tidespring whilst Kelso and June’s children took Dracoixa. Despite the potential problems there were certainly potential options they could explore down the road, if they went down it, at least from the Kingdom’s perspective. Of course coming from the background he did Kelso could understand why Dracoixa would be wary of handing over a crown to a foreigner like Kelso, he knew it would never happen in the Kingdom after all.

But just like her he didn’t want to love anyone else. He was incredibly fortune to not only have fallen in love with someone, but to have fallen in love of an appropriate station and who would bring great prosperity and benefit to his House, in the Kingdom it was the nigh-mythical complete package. And he loved her, with all of his heart, and he couldn’t imagine loving anyone else.

“You mean too much to me too, I reckon we could make it work” Kelso said softly. “I’d be willing to be a Prince Consort, not a King, if that would placate your people’s objections to a foreign King, as long as you would be my Queen.”

Kelso leant forward and kissed her deeply.

“It would, wouldn’t it,” Kelso commented with a smile. “I’d be like all the old songs and stories.”

"I don't know, Dracoixa's never HAD a Prince Consort." She said then began to smile. "Once of the reasons Lords and Ladies like trying to marry the Princess or Prince, they get to sit on a throne equal to that of their spouse," She actually laughed. "I couldn't imagine the reaction from the courts that you would give up that amount of power! Do you know how much power you're giving up? Then again, you wouldn't get much chance to use it while leading your Tidespring."

June smiled as he kissed her, they were going to bend heaven and Earth for each other, and she was glad that she had someone willing to do that for her.

"Old songs and stories from your nation. I know only a few from mine." She said with a small smile. "But then I guess we'll have to add our own story to that list. The Great tale of The Dragon and The Swallow." She smiled. "God I love you."

Around that time Moore reappeared from the crowd. He had good timing apparently, as June had wanted to start getting back to fun things. "June, I was wondering if you'd like to come up to the bridge with me, Donovan, and rest of the lieutenants?"

"Why?" she asked.

"A bit of singing on the open Dracoixan channels, I don't want to clog the airways if Lord Tidespring's people don't want to listen, but I wanted to sing the the anthem, and maybe a few of the historical songs... though if your drunk I wouldn't recommend singing."

"I'm not drunk and I can carry a tune better then any of them." June said with a grin, motioning to her fellow lieutenants and they grinned.

"Good because you said that YOU'RE singing the national anthem." Moore said and when June started to object he help up a hand. "No, no takebacks, if your so good you need to prove it."

June sighed and shook her head. "Okay fine, Kelso, wanna come up, you don't have to sing though."
"And with a flap of his mighty wings, the Dragon left the ground, and spiraled into the night."

“I want to marry you because I am so madly in love with you and I can’t imagine ever loving someone else or spending my life with anyone else, not to have any power in Dracoxia because of it,” Kelso replied softly. “The Tale of the Dragon and the Swallow, I quite like the sound of that, sounds like one of the old songs too… I love you too, Sweetling.”

Kelso looked up as Moore appeared and listened with amusement at their plans. It was fairly obvious that on days like these the Dracoixans lost all sense of propriety and their normal way of doing things and just got a bit weird. Not that he was particularly complaining, he had enjoyed his day over here on the Stalcor so far and he was glad to be helping June have a good day too. It was all certainly very different to what he was used to, but by no means in a bad way.

“Of course, my Lady,” Kelso replied with a smile. “Lead the way.”

June followed the small gorup up to the bridge. Everyone on the bridge was of course working, maybe at a slower pace, but still working. obviously these people had volunteered for this as it was a pretty light bridge watch compared to every other time Kelso had been here.

But communications was already ready, a hologram floating in the air she handed the hologram to Moore who handed it to June. He reached over the com officers shoulder and pushed the 'all hands' button and spoke, his voice echoing over the intercom and the channel connected to all the ships.

"All hands, this is Captain Moore speaking, now I know we're not at home right now, but since we can't be home to see the glorious Dragon Sun parade, we might as well share a bit of the singing that goes on during that time. Our very own Tatsua Von June had decided she wishes to sign the national anthem. June?" He turned to look at her and swallowed nervously, tapping to hologram and the music started.

She started to sing, the words coming naturally as she'd sung this ever sing she was small.

"Dracoixa, the land I love
A world of harmony
Our flag does wave from high above
For all of us to see

Dracoixa, a land of friends
From land to white sea foam
They say our nation will never end
Dracoixa, my home!"

Moore seemed surprised and more then one person stared at her, mouths open in shock. Her voice had always been beautiful, but while sing its been pure and simply amazing. It almost hadn't sounded real. Moore recovered first shaking head as June blushed and taped the hologram to end that broadcast.

"June that was amazing." He said, almost in wonder. "May I speak freely?"

"yes."

"You sound just like your Mother when she sang the anthem." He said softly. "Still want to sing the other song with us?"

"Of course." June said with a smile, the mention of her mother not causing the pain it would of a lot time ago. There was still a bit of sadness, but even more happiness at a better memory of her mother.
"And with a flap of his mighty wings, the Dragon left the ground, and spiraled into the night."

Kelso followed the group heading up to the bridge and looked around with amusement as he arrived. There was still a duty watch but it was noticeably smaller than it had been at any other time, no doubt these people had volunteered for some reason or another, but Captain Moore had wanted to keep as few people from the festivities as possible. With the Ser Alvis Jenson watching over them anyway the chances were that, if there was a problem to ruin the day, the Star Destroyer would be able to protect them long enough to get all hands back to their battle stations. The communications department was apparently on the ball however as they had everything set up already for Captain Moore to speak to the crew and the rest of the Dracoixan ships, until it was time for June to step forwards. He gave her an encouraging hug before she stepped forward into the hologram to sink the National Anthem for the entire Dracoixan squadron and its support ships. She looked nervous as hell, but that was perhaps understandable given what she was about to do, Force knew that Kelso wouldn’t have been able to do anything of the sort. Not sober anyway.

To say that Kelso was taken aback by the way she sang the anthem was an understatement. He was amongst those that were staring at her in amazement and his mouth was slightly open in surprise. He had always loved her voice, it was one of the many things he had fallen in love with, but when she had started to sing it had transformed into something even he hadn’t expected, and it was beautiful to say the least.

He stepped forwards after Moore.

“That was incredible,” Kelso said softly, he squeeze her hand gently at the sadness on her face at the mention of he mother. “I can’t wait to hear another.”
