HOSTILE TAKEOVER IN THE LIBERTY ISLANDS!

The Liberty Islands have, for a long time, have been a tourist center and an escape from the daily routines of life for many, especially in Turmenista. The Liberty Islands have historically been the result of Oesterran-backed colonizations of the Pacific, which mainly involved sending African-Oesterran freedmen to the newly-acquired colonies. Since the 1950s, the islands have been a massive tourist hub, with pristine beaches, expensive resort hotels, and exotic sights such as the ruined IJN Agatsuma, a Kaga-class carrier which had sunken into the shallows of Paradise.
This beautiful place, however, has come under the rule of what many see as an unstable, vicious, and downright dangerous dictator Jimbo Loggins. Contrary to these claims, however, the he has opened ports to many nations in the AFR Sphere, such as the nations of the Edhelgaer States Union. To many, this has been seen as a move to stabilize and gain international support for his regime. However, as is, his power is in decline without doubt. His coup began, as he had presided over the Libertine Armed Forces (LAF), with him storming the palace of President Robin Ndembe, who had been loved across the nation. As many sources have alleged, Ndembe was tortured for seven hours before finally being executed inside the palace before his own family, which would also be executed. Various members of the Free Libertine Party, whom Ndembe was an integral part of, were also executed under Jimbo's orders.
Under the de-facto Libertine Armed Forces junta under Jimbo Loggins, public support is quite clearly not eminent. In fact, it is quite the opposite, as protesters have hit the streets in response to the takeover. The government, however, has already put in measures to suppress these mass demonstrations by force. These brute and uncivilized acts have stirred quite the outrage internationally, and rumors of a civil war are already stirring. The future of the Liberty Islands is in the balance.
