Europa Falling ( IC)

2030, Europe is facing crisis that of which it has not seen since the 1930's. A massive recession has hit the continent again causing inflation, mass unemployment, and for even more companies to ship out to foreign nations.

Members states from all over the EU are threatening not only to drop the Euro, but to leave the EU all together.

In Europe's far right, Putinism is making leaps and bounds in Eastern Europe, and is beginning to leak into central Europe.

With Europe's Muslim population now reaching 15% , a rising tide of islamists and other Jihadists can be found all over central and western Europe. In light of this, nationalist groups are rising up to combat the Jihadist rise.

With the rise of far-right and other groups, the radical liberals of Europe have begun to become even more extreme in a last ditch effort to save their systems of governance.

Europe is falling, and once this crisis is over, the continent will forever be changed. It is up to you to decide how it changes.

The Daily Courier

P.Z.L Posts Worst Quarterly Profit in Years

For the 2029 Q4, P.Z.L, the largest company in the Polish Republic and one of the largest in the world, reported one of the weakest profits in history, managing just $500 million net profit. This profit loss is mainly due to the cutting of contracts in the North American Region, and higher cost of steel due to increased inflation. P.Z.L.'s main components supplier, KGHM Polska Miedź, has also taken a profit hit, making just $58 million in 2029 Q4. Over the last week, P.Z.L's stock has fallen 2%.

Economy Growth Sluggish

In the Eurozone, overall GDP declined slightly in 2029 Q4. In the 2029 whole year, Eurozone GDP did increase however, by less than 1%. In Poland, the result was not much better. Growth was merely 0.1% after inflation was included. Poland's economy hasn't grown this bad since the 2008-2009 Great Panic. Poland's trade surplus, however, has notably increased, as the much more Islamic and unstable Western European countries are facing much social unrest, while in Poland, the social order has remained larger intact.

P.Z.L-F.S.O Merger?

The two largest companies in Poland, P.Z.L and the automotive company F.S.O (Passenger Automobile Limited) may be making a merger, which would make the company the largest in Eastern Europe, 3rd largest in Europe, and 9th largest company in the world. This idea, proposed by F.S.O CEO Stanislaw Maczek, is considered an interesting idea. It would cut overall taxes for both the companies, although it would make them large and arguably unmanagable.

The 'Liability Act' is to be enacted in Spain. The Spanish people were protesting for anti-Terrorist and the Spanish Government passed one. 'The Liability act hereby dictates that any high ranking officers of the Spanish Armed Forces or the Force Cuerpo Nacional de Policía can deport any member of the Spanish Islamic Church if there is suspected of terrorism' Meanwhile the military are putting down small acts of rebellion against Spain, because a small rebel force is attacking small Spanish cities.

An angry-than-normal Vladimir Putin sits at his desk with his advisors. They hang their heads in shame as Putin shouts "What do you mean, the Russian economy has tanked? What have you swine done?"
The military advisor raises his head and nervously says "Mr.-Mr. Putin, sir? I'm sorry to tell you this, but I must inform you that Islam is becoming more dominant in Russia. Our top experts are concerned that they may become dissatisfied with your governance-" He reflexively flinches as Putin slams his hand on the table.
"Idiot!" Putin yells. "I have a plan on how to unite the Muslims with the Russian government." Putin picks up a walkie-talkie and says "Activate Operation Red Mecca."
The welfare advisor turns to the military advisor and whispers "What's Operation Red Mecca?" The military advisor nervously shrugs.
The walkie-talkie speaks back to Putin "Yes, sir! Glory to the motherland! It shall be done in T minus 24 hours!" The advisors all worriedly stand there, hoping the operation doesn't do anything too crazy.

London, Britain

It was uncharacteristically warm in Southern England on this day. The sun was brightly shining through the usually clouding British skies, raining down an wave of heat upon the pasty skinned kings men. Although most found the day quite hot and if not a tad bit muggy, Fa'ad Asaf Ghani found it delightful. At one time, before he found Allah, he was known as Bruce Hawkins, but now it is Fa'ad. He had spent a year living in Medina in Saudi Arabia, and the heat reminded him of the city. He sat at a table outside of a coffee shop, sipping loudly at his cup. He wore a light gray suite, with a blue shirt and brown leather ( cow) shoes. He was looking down at his phone, through the BBC website. He wasn't really interested in what it had to say, he was simply trying to look casual while he waited for his man to arrive.

Out of the corner of his he spotted his contact moving in. He had brown skin and black hair. He wore a white button up shirt, and khaki pants; he had a gray scruff underneath his chin. Mahmoud sat down at the table next to Fa'ad. Mahmoud was one of the many thousands of Indian immigrants living here in London. He was an accomplished doctor in his public life, but in his more private life, he was quite a radical.

" Is now a good time to talk?" Fa'ad put his phone down, " As good a time as any." He faced his underling and folded his hands. Mahmoud was among the few people in the Righteous Path who knew of Fa'ad's true identity. " So, Spain believes that it can deport Allah's children without due repercussion?" " The arrogance." Mahmoud grumbled. Fa'ad nodded in agreement, " That is why we wanted to meet with you here today. Let me see your phone." Mahmoud did as he was told and handed his phone over to Fa'ad. Fa'ad took his own phone and placed the two back to back for a few moments before taking his back. " I have just given your phone the plans for our initiative against the Spaniards. You are only to share it with our operations officers, and you are only to transport the info in this manner, is that understood?" Mahmoud nodded, " Yes sir." Fa'ad smiled, " Good. Now go, we have God's work to do."

The Courier

Investment Remains Stable

Capital investment, one of the most important indicators of economic growth, remained stable at +0.1% in 2029 Q4, while consumption, however, went down slightly by -0.2%. Capital investment growth was concentrated in renewable energy, which makes up about 50% of Poland's total energy consumption, while Capital Investment in Textiles declined -0.3%, the biggest decline in investment per sector.

Exports have remained significant, mostly due to the necessity of aircraft and the continued profitability of P.Z.L Mielec compared to the massive losses suffered by the fracturing Airbus Group has allowed exports to remain stable, with growth being +0.001%, a statically irrelevant but emotionally important fact. The trade surplus has essentially remained the same.

Government Considers Options

In order to help the slowing economy grow faster, the national conservative government has considered it's options. The Libertarian idea of an across the board tax cut and spending cuts is being considered, but worried by some members of the party due to the fact that cutting taxes often stokes inflation.

Another option is a public-private investment partnership to grow the Northern Coast's Shipping and Trade Industry in conjunction with the cutting of tariffs and import duties, which is considered the most practical idea so far.

The third option considered is a keynesian, government run pump priming scheme, including a cutting of interest rates from 1.5% to 0%, increase in government spending on infrastructure, a middle class tax cut, and quantitive easing. Such a feat has never been done in the history of the Republic, however, and so it is unlikely.

Dagestan, Russia

After 24 hours of special operatives stealthily planting high explosives, the time had finally come. Operation Red Mecca was about to have an impact on the Russian people forever. One of the operatives code named "Demens" speaks with his commanding officer about his accomplishments. "I have successfully planted the bombs, as you have requested. Nobody suspects a thing."
The CO responds "Good, good Demens. Alright, everything is set. Blow it up!"

At that time, several office buildings detonate in Muslim areas of Dagestan. Soon after, the Russisn news reports the following: "This just in, several buildings in Dagestan have spontaneously exploded. 98 people have died and many more are injured. Investigation are currently being done to figure out who is responsible for this attack." Later, the Russian media announced this "Only a few moments ago, special Russian police have captured the perpetrators and have brought them into custody. The police can confirm the terrorists were from Belarus, though they cannot identify a motive."

Start of the invasion of Belarus

The next day, Russia begins a war on Belarus, sending soldiers and armor into the country. President Putin claims this has been done to "Protect Russian soil" and to "Destroy enemies to Russia and those that support them." While the terrorist attack was completely set up, he hopes that the people will believe it was actually orchestrated by Belarusian terrorists. Putin plans to make Belarus a puppet state in the future, but does not yet know how to justify doing so to the public. He decides to wait before announcing these plans, granting him more time to come up with something.

Pyrenees Mountains, Spanish-French border

"Ain't no sunshine when she's gone..."

Lou Reed poured through the radio of the mini van. Tabakur, the driver, hummed along to the solemn, but pretty tune. 6 days ago he and the three other men in his car had received their orders from the operations officer in southern France ( code name: Emir). They and two other teams of four men would make their way from southern France down into Spain and would branch out towards their respective targets. Tabakur and his team were being sent to Madrid. They did not know where the other drivers were headed, as secrecy had to be maintained in the event of capture.

Tabakur thought of the mission he was undertaking as he looked out towards the snow covered mountains. Tabakur was the son of Berber immigrants from Algeria. Like so many other second generation immigrants in Europe, although he has never seen his home he longed to declare himself apart of it. He was always at least semi-religious ( perhaps a bit too much drinking in his early years), but was never as devoted as he could have been. Then, when he was 25 he had began listening to a conservative Iman in Vichy. He became a devout student of the Iman and would chose to himself become a student of the Quran, an Iman in training. The iman was impressed with his devotion and had suggested him to the Righteous path, who made contact with him soon after. Now, 30 years old, Tabakur is leading his own Jihad against the infidels. Although at first reluctant to abandon his studies, he found that among the few things as holy as preaching Allahs word, is carrying out his command

Finally, Tabakur saw the sign.

Now Entering Spain

He would make note to thank Allah in his next prayer for the ease and ignorance in which the infidels let each other cross their borders.

News approached that Russia attacked Belarus one after a terrorist attack. Hmm... Extremely suspicious that one day after a terrorist attack, Russia declares war... Jose thought, Oh well, the EU, UN, U.S.A will deal with it, I have bigger fish to fry. The Spanish Military has Intel that the leaders of the rebellion are in a small town near the border . If they can kill them, it will be in shambles, and that's one less problem for Spain. The drone flew over the small warehouse they were meeting in. The drone targeted them, fired a missile, and the rebel force was nearly dead. It's bleeding out, with no doctor, so it will be a matter a time before they were non-existent. Spaniards from around the country celebrated, and ignored the fact that a piece of rubble hit a car in the road, killing 4 people, injuring 5 , and more rubble spilled into a highway and the burying and partially burying 5 cars. The government paid major news networks to ignore it, and paid the families compensation.

The Times

Border Defenses Ramped Up

The Polish Government, led by the nationalist ''Law and Justice'' party, has increased it's presence along the Polish-Belarusan Borders and in Polish Lithuania. Active units have been re-organized along the border, with the 1st Mechanized Corps being deployed near Kalingrad and the 4th Infantry Corps as well as the 3rd Mechanized Corps have been deployed in Polish Lithuania. All of these units have air supports. Throughout the rest of the Polish-Belarusan and Polish-Ukranian Borders, active units have also been deployed. Eastern Front High Command has been set up, located in the city of Lublin to direct any potential activities.

Manufacturing Data

Manufacturing data for 2029 Q4 and the entirety of the year came in. The ISM Manufacturing Index, which if above 50 shows an expanding manufacturing sector, came in at 52.1 for the entirety of 2029 and 51.4 for 2029 Q4. The overall estimate for 2029 in the year was 51.9 while 2029 Q4 estimate was 51.4.

Data is released from the Bank of Poland, the central bank of the Polish Republic. Estimates and forecasts are generally made by P.Z.L Mielec, and the Bank of Warsaw. P.Z.L's forecast for the month of January is a manufacturing index at 51.1, while the Bank of Warsaw estimates 51.6.

Hummer Purchased by F.S.O.

The former American and then Chinese ''Hummer'' has been purchased by Poland's main automaker, Passenger Automotive Limited. F.S.O, which has a 43% market share domestically, up from 41% in 2029 Q1, acquired the Hummer brand to increase profitability as well as to bring the automaker towards the profitable Large SUV Market. Interestingly, a ''Hummer H3 Hybrid Plug-In'', a project begun in 2008 but ended quickly after, has been revived. This ''Hummer Hybrid'' gets nearly 100mpg while retaining it's military style look and coolness. It is expected to be a best seller.

Hummer, which, under Chinese state-run ownership, had 4 production facilities, one in Poland, two in China, and one in the U.S., now has merely one under F.S.O, the Polish Factory located in Radom. Hummer was purchased for just $60 million.

The new Hummer brand also is working on producing the Humvee Armored Vehicle for the Polish Army in numbers. This will occur at a soon to be constructed plant in Lodz. The Humvee is a capable armored vehicle and would likely work alongside the existing PL-01.
