If AI gets good enough so that a significant majority of population do not need to work, and can produce more effort than even a wage slave in a developing country, there might be substantial economic collapse as a lot of people get laid off and may overwhelm the welfare systems. The government will have to either change dramatically and be a literal nanny state, or the people may rise up, and attempt to ban the usage of AI for unskilled work, if only so they can have some living.

So if AI take over all production, then they've met all of the 'supply' in the supply and demand chain's needs. So they've taken care of all mining, all farming, etc. So in other words, there is a strictly demand economy at this point, apart from maintaining the AI, which I'm assuming we would want to remain in human hands, lest Skynet get any funny ideas. Since there's no longer a need for supply and there is now strictly demand, I don't think that leads to an economic collapse. Actually, I don't know what that would lead to period, but I'm at work, so my brain isn't running on all two hamsters.

I never saw any evidence of that. Besides, as long as we follow the laws of AI we'll be fine.

1) Don't try to kill AI.
2) Don't give AI control of the nukes.
3) Do not turn over more then 40% of military assets to AI.
