The year is 2016 but things are different...

In the year 1991, the West Russians adopted a different ideology to the East, the East were infuriated by this and with the help of Japan (Japan doesn't share East Russia's ideology but they thought it would be best if they split.), the USSR split up into East Russia (All of Siberia with the exception of the Kamchatka Peninsula) and West Russia (European Russia & Ukraine)

But due to tensions in the USA, it split up into:

The Republic of Texas (Texas, Oklahoma, Arkansas, Kansas, New Mexico, Mississippi, Alabama, Florida, Georgia, South Carolina)

The United Republics of California (California, Nevada, Arizona, Colorado, Utah) otherwise known as the URC

Alaska (Alaska)

The Republic of North America (Washington, Oregon, Idaho, Montana, Wyoming, North Dakota, South Dakota, Nebraska, Canada) which was formerly known as the Democratic States of America until it merged with Canada.

United Republic of Columbia (Kentucky Fried Chicken, Wisconsin, Minnesota, North Carolina, Virginia, West Virginia, Missouri, Indiana, Iowa, Michigan, Ohio, New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, Vermont, Connecticut, Massachusetts, Maine, New Hampshire) otherwise known as the URC

The resources that the former US had were shared out between the 5 new nations.

The Korean War never happened and Japan still owns Korea, the USSR didn't seize Japan's claim over Sakhalin (Now referred to by it's Japanese name of Karafuto) at the near of WW2 and is thus part of Japan. It also gained control over Guam, The Northern Mariana Islands and The Kuril Islands following the USA's breakup. In exchange for helping East Russia in the splitup of the USSR, the Kamchatka Peninsula was handed over to Japan by East Russia.

Be realistic about your nation, Mexico couldn't magically conquer Spain, Portugal and New Zealand and even if it did, it would be difficult to control such a widespread nation.

Haiti persecutes opponents, both political and religious. Haiti has a strong hate towards France since 1804. In 2016 the entire island of Haiti was obliterated by a nuclear missile from Japan, thus ending the Haitan empire.

History: During the colonial era, the Dutch were able to secure a foothold in South America, a base of operations. This was in the 1700s. The unrest in Spain's massive expanses of America was growing, and this was the perfect chance to instigate a rebellion. Over the years of colonization, a lot of Dutch and Austrian speaking people had immigrated to South America in looks for work, as did many Spanish and English to north America and their respective Caribbean territories.

The battle for the independence of Venezuela began, not led by Francisco de Miranda, but Nikolaus Becken, who effectively took over 'Little Venice', and like Simon Bolivar did, continued his journey across South America. And like Bolivar, he travelled across more enemy territory than Napoleon, and even more than Bolivar did, winning Peru, Bolivia and northern Chile before he died from being strangled by a python in his sleep, though dying a hero having freed Klein-Venedig from colonial chains.

This left the 20 year old nation of Klein-Venedig in a situation - but it decided to become a Republic in 1814 when he died, but then a Federal Republic in 1946. Klein-Venedig since the 1900s has been a hub for the exports of oil, steel, rare metals, ships and aircraft, and it's control over the Panama Strait, and a similar amount of territory as Brazil, though more urban and abundant in resources, Klein-Venedig rose, like it's father Germany, to the 4th strongest economy in the world, sitting on a GDP of $5.7 trillion.

History: After the fall and splintering of the United States and the Soviet Union, the United Mexican States found themselves in something of an economic problem. The cartels launched a revolution and most of Mexico except for Acapulco, Mexico City, Veracruz, were run by cartel warlords by 1992. In the confusion, Mexico lost the Yucatan Peninsula to Haiti.


However, the election of Carlos Salinas de Gortari to the presidency saw new reforms to take advantage of the now weakened US factions. To deal with hyperinflation, President Salinas de Gortari stripped three zeroes from the Peso, taking use of the dollar's devaluation. The Mexican cartels, which plagued Mexico for decades, now moved their production facilities into their consumer nations, the US factions, reducing transportation costs from before of having to move their product across the border. The major factor, however, was Salinas connections with the cartels, who convinced them to move north into the US factions, taking advantage of the breakdown/weakening of the rule of law in these areas. With the support of the cartels, the president had taken power, and with that power in hand, he would begin to use it. After coercing congress into passing a series of Enabling Acts, the republic turned into a presidential dictatorship reminiscent of that of the German Third Reich, with Salinas de Gortari at the forefront. The Centralist Republic of Mexico was born. Though first hailed with criticism and demands for the return of democracy, he managed to convince the general population after his administration restored order and the drug violence disappeared. Five years later, the Central American states, who had lost the little amount of law and order they possessed, agreed to be annexed into the much more stable Mexican Republic. After the Treaty of Dolores, Mexican troops entered Central America and restored order. For a decade afterwards, the poverty levels in Mexico and Central America would slowly diminish. Eventually, in 2003 after the building of the Nicaragua Canal and the Tehuantepec Portage Railway, the Panama Canal saw strong competition, and slowly, the Nicaragua Canal and Tehuantepec Routes became the most profitable routes in the world. Salinas de Gortari died in 2006, leaving his friend, Luis Donaldo Colosio as his succesor. After a forged election, Colosio won the presidency, promising to retake the Yucatan and Belize from Haiti, working together with Cuba and remaining free Carribbean states. Cuba was annexed after the assassination of Fidel Castro and his brother by Mexico was blamed on Haiti, allowing Mexico to install a puppet leader in the communist nation. Guantanamo Bay was seized and ex-American military caches were used to reverse engineer modern weapons for Mexico. Seeking closer relations with Latin America, the Soviet Union, Republic of China, or any other anti-US nation, Colosio began his administration with completely reducing any trade dependence on Mexico's northern neighbors, and began better relations with China, USSR, Klein-Venedig, Brazil, etc. Mexico is now calling on a coalition against Haiti, in attempt to take back Mexico's territories and then some.
