Recolonizing Earth: Sign ups/ Modern tech

Postby Atrat » Tue Nov 24, 2015 9:19 pm

The Great Fall took 95 percent of life off the Earth. This is its story.

First came the Great War, as nations from both the East and West burned Europe, northern India, and the Middle East into ruins and corpses.
2 Billion lost across the globe.
Second came the Great Famine, as nations from both the East and West had suffered with less laborers left from the field of battle.
1 Billion lost in across the globe
Third came the Great Unrest, as nations from both the East and West could not feed their people, they were disrupted into mass riots and breakdown of order. Governments killed people en mass, and civil wars erupted into more clouds of fire.
500 million lost in Asia, Africa, and North America
Fourth came the Great Plague, as nations from both the East and West failed to see the rise of the airborne virus, Comedere Mortem, causing the starving to die quicker and the strong to grow weaker.
500 million lost in Africa, Asia, North America, and South America.
Fifth came the Great Drought, as fuel fell short and infrastructure collapsed. With few fuel, the final governments fell and anarchy descended.
Unknown amount lost across the globe
Sixth came the Great Flight, as millions of refugees looked for supplies in stable Australia, only to be disappointed by more war, famine, and radioactivity.
Unknown amount lost.....

Finally, came the Great Darkness, as a winter with scarce food, water, shelter, security and warmth haunted the globe and brought along those who were sick, wounded, young, old, weak, and unlucky.
2 Billion lost across the globe

But humanity lived on.......

20 years after the Great Fall, the world has found a pulse. The city of Charleston, South Carolina, of the former United States, has a population of 500 banding together in the town. Many other communities across the globe are rising as well. They must rebuild this vast and empty world and create a new Globe themselves.......

OOC: Looking for anybody interested in rebuilding a near empty Earth
Anywhere in the world is fair game, keep in mind bigger cities will have high radiation and be less inhabitable

So, in Lake Huron's Georgian Bay area and near the shoreline of Muskoka, there are many, many islands. My team inhabits a few of them, as well as having a camp on the mainland, about a klick into the woods, in a clearing.
Just wanted to clear that up. Most of our food is fish and mussels.

Posting the IC now, applications will be still accepted. Remember, Earth is pretty empty, so don't expect much tribe on tribe action at first, unless you have mentioned it in your app.

3. Community ideology/governing structure (ex.Dictatorship)
Fascist

4. Number One Issue (ex.Water scarcity)
Gather supplies and try to rebuild for the campaign to reconquer Germany.

5. Attitude (War-like)
Will declare war on anyone they think they can beat.

After the end of the world, 300 people came up from bunkers. There was little to watch expect old war propaganda, so they have taken Fascism and altered it somewhat to fit thier needs and are confident that they can rule the world. Some of the more unhinged ones have fallen in love with the weapons that caused the worlds end, worshiping them.

3. Community ideology/governing structure: Direct Democracy (think Ancient Athens)
4. Number One Issue: They don't have any source of freshwater, except when it rains.
5. Attitude: They want their island to be the capital of a Baltic Empire (not that it would be called that), filled to the brim with grand buildings. I guess this would be imperialism, but they don't necessarily want to oppress their subjects.

1. Location: Montauk, Long Island, New York

2. Size: 233 people

3. Ideology: Collectivist/ The governing body is a small, ten person congress elected by popular vote.

4. Number one issue: Internal conflict and a drug abuse issue. (The drug abuse led to crime in the group and the low medical supply)

5. Attitude: The group is not tightly knit by any means and all that keeps them together is the group's govering body. If this body didn't exist it is likely the group would separate into two smaller factions, those who wished to keep order, and those who wish for a loose group, living in a more anarchic environment. This anarchic group consisted of the drug abusers and one or two extremists who were simply sick of the group. The group had been living in a stable environment for a long time until a group of scavengers reached NYLIJ hospital on the other side of the island. Many painkillers and meds were returned to the camp and were at first used only medically, until a small band of the younger more rebellious members began to abuse the use of their meds. Quickly, they ran out of painkillers and began to steal other people's medicine, causing a crash in this supply, and eventually, fighting between the two said factions. The abuser faction has threatened to attack and kill the others if they continued to be cut off from their drugs, but the others have refused to this point.
