Same Sex Marriage Legalized!

Earlier today, congress voted on the bill legalizing Same Sex Marriage. The bill was passed 74%- 26%.

President Jacques Bérnarde spoke on this matter:

"Well I completely support this bill and so does Vice President Marie Sissois. We must be able to progress and a modern world, and religion and politics must be separate."

Speaker of the House Cameronne Relless, who is part of Le Traditionnel Fête (The Conservative Party) entirely disagrees:

"This is ridiculous! Same Sex marriage is a sin! The fact that our President supports this bill is crazy! We must stand by our catholic beliefs and repeal this bill! If you are a true christian, you don't support gay marriage!"

Paulau forbids Same Sex Marriage

In the early hours of the morning the Paulauan Government, well-known to be a strictly conservative and traditionalist, reaffirmed its stance forbidding Same Sex Marriage. The military-backed President Jaidev Patil rejected the practice as "a loathsome stain that a truly moral nation must never allow to come to pass". Homosexuality remains almost nonexistent among Paulauans with those very few who do practice the "alternate lifestyle" at risk of arrest and imprisonment at the hands of Government forces.

Critics have suggested that the heavy handed Patil Regime made the announcement to win support with the Paulauan people to offset ongoing tensions with the Paulauan Liberation Front (PDF) that has been waging a guerrilla war against government forces for just over two years. However, a man said to be representing the rebels, spoke in a video tape sent to the Government Offices in Nasanpur.

"Homosexuality is a deed unbecoming of a truly moral nation. It is a sin plain and simple, a foul taboo that the Paulauan Liberation Front will not condone! On this matter we are, in a very rare event, in agreement with the reviled dictator Jaidev Patil."

Guinea Pig Disease breaks out!
Earlier today ten Guinea Pigs infected with the infamous Guinea Pig Disease escaped from a laboratory in Three Lakes where they were undergoing testing for a cure to the disease.

This disease can be fatal if the infected person does not see a medical practitioner. It can easily be cured in humans but can be fatal, but infected Guinea Pigs are simple carriers of the disease, and cannot be cured at the time of writing.

If lumps have suddenly appeared on your legs, please see a doctor immediately.

UPDATE:
Twelve people have been confirmed to have the disease. Cures are being flown in from Breslau as we write this update.

Forerunnerisum takes hold

A recent survey of SECP has shown an increase in a new belief called "Forerunnerisum".
Forerunnersium is the belief that who ever devotes their life to it's calling will achieve "god like" stats in their following life. So far thousands have swarmed over to it's calling making it the number one religion in SECP. It is currently un-sure if this trend will keep up or it will fade out, but for now their belief in this new religion is strong. Ironically through many believers have made the decision to appoint Prime Minster Zakl 'Lunjasee as their "Prophet", their high leader,..... their god among mortals. Prime Minster Zakl 'Lunjasee has so far gave no word about this new religion or how many feel about him, but we can only guess how he thinks about this recent change in events.

This September 28, several tanks of The Grinder Tank Industries have gone missing! It has been reported that 10 tanks were lost during their move from the oldest factory of the company in Ayrmiae to Damahatisa. Right now, the Azen National Police and several Azen National Army officials are looking for the missing tanks. Ayrmiae is a city close to Yaneza, the capital of Azenyanistan, both cities inland. But Damahatisa is a city close to the border which Azenyanistan shares with several small nations.

Election Buzz in Ayamar

With the 2015 General Elections just around the corner, the buzz is really starting to get to the candidates. Republican Candidate Oman Bertley has accused the far-right People's Alliance of supporting genocide and totalitarianism similar to that of the Revolutionary Regime. The Commonwealth Party has also made an official statement, declaring was on Poluscze and it's "anarchist terrorist government". President Chris Malcolm has not made any statements like this yet, and we're not expecting him to.

The Polls

The polls have been changing every other day it seems, but public think tank Election Development Foundation has released their 2nd last poll.

Justice Party - 41%
National Party - 23%%
Commonwealth Party - 19%
Independence and Democracy Party - 9%
Worker's Party - 6%
Republican Party - 2%
People's Alliance - 1%

This would see the Justice Party making a 2% gain, and the IDP making a 3% gain, putting them ahead of the Worker's Party. The Commonwealth Party would lose 4%, and the National Alliance would remain at 23%.

Monarchy Under Questioning, Again

The Monarchy type rule over Saleina has been put under questioning again recently. After a few nations sparked a mini debate over same sex marriage, Saleina's views are beginning to change. However, Saleina has always sticked to its mother nation's beliefs. Zadiner, the ruling country, has always been against homosexuality. However Saleina's people has shown that they believe differently.

It also brought the question whether the monarchy was really needed and whether or not they should become a republic. Zadiner is generally against the idea, but respects the decisions of the government.

A referendum may be organised regarding both issues.

Darkness Class Mothership, EAS Arabia is tested in the Holy Seas

Augusticinia has recently placed a large amount of funding in creating the Darkness Class Mothership. After years of testing and planning the first one has been built. The EAS Arabia completed its first official test a few days ago in the Holy Seas. It's crew contained all officers and the captain was Admiral of the Fleet Sophronius van Leeuwenhoeck. The ship's weaponry is focused on stealth, torpedoes, and missiles. Chief Engineer Gabriel Simons said,"Naval guns may soon be a thing of the past. I don't want Augusticinia to fall in the category of backwards nations." The ship itself has a vast expanse of living quarters and a large command center. It also has the latest stealth technology and has a helicopter landing deck and possibly a runway strip where planes can land.

The ship itself performed a variety of tasks while it was in the Holy Seas. It was tested on Maneuverability which had slight troubles due to uneven weight displacement and large size. Its missile systems were also tested and proven succesful. Also it was tested on its ability to withstand rough waters. The Arabia proved succesful again. Military leaders are currently planning a second test that will officialy determine whether the EAS Arabia becomes the first official Darkness Class Mothership.

Konoganistan to Release Weapon Catalog

October 13, 2015, Konoganistan - Konoganistan to go forward with plans to sell arms and military technology through controversial arm catalog.

Shock and dismay assailed the otherwise-pacific population of the country as it's leadership decided to go forward with an unpopular and controversial plan to commercialize the country's warfare technology. By listing the nation's multiple military assets and technologies for sale in a catalog, the government hopes to increase it's revenue and help it's allies' war efforts.

The policy is highly critiqued, experts indicting the government for the lack of transparency, claiming that it accomplish exactly the opposite of what it claims. The provision is estimated to cost over half a billion Kons to Konoganistanian tax-payers.

Today is a historic day in the Charlemagne Republics, for the first time both the head of state and the head of government are female. Her Imperial Highness, Maria von Hapsburg-Lorraine, was coronated this day. A few weeks earlier Monika Ulmer of the Liberalist Party was elected Chancellor with a 378 to 252 in the Parliament, upsetting the Cosmopolitan Party's dominance. While not the first female Chancellor (Chancellor Ida Theiner was in 1978), the people celebrate the new leadership nevertheless

Erweiterung Policy enacted!
The Erwiterung (meaning "expansion" in German) is an expansion of Charlemagnean influence and territory. In order to do that, the Parliament has increased military spending, while diplomats are scrambling to establish friendly relations with the surrounding regions. Rumors of purchasing weapons from Konoganistan are evident, but unlikely. It should be noted that the Charlemagne Republics will attack if provoked, and prefers peace over war.

[The Turkish Nation]

Turkish Navy ships will hold missile firing drills in the Pacific Ocean, a senior Turkish captain said Monday. The exercise, which will include three destroyers and a missile cruiser, is the latest effort from Moscow as it attempts to expand the reach of its maritime forces and gain military parity with Gasenque.



"During the air defense exercises, the destroyers Moroz, Inej, and Smerch will carry out launches of Malachite cruise missiles, they will simulate low-altitude, high-speed targets of the Maritime flotilla led by the guided missile cruiser Varyag, which, in turn, will use all its firepower to strike back at a simulated enemy air attack," said Capt. Roman Martov on Monday, according to Sputnik, a pro-Turkish
news site.

Protests in New Crete

On the Augusticinian island of New Crete, Socialist Protestors have protested after the District Legislature of New Crete passed laws and economic policies that have led to debt and an increase in unemployment rate from 6% to 9%. New Crete also owes 30 billion Augusticinian Impeiras to the Augusticinian federal government and this number is steadily rising. The Governor of New Crete, Josias Gunther, who believes in increase in spending on infrastructure said,"I don't agree with what the legilature has done. I believe that I need to step in. My plan is to increase spending on infrastructure to create more jobs which will later fix our debt problem." Many members of the legislature believed that these protestors needed to be stopped but governor Josias Gunther refused to allow the police to even march aside the protestors to keep watch. Some members of the New Crete legislature believe that this needs to be punished by impeachment. Legislator Theotelm Autenberry said,"It states under article 5 of the New Crete governance code that if the legislature reaches a consensus in a time of crisis. The Legislature has the power to take position of Governor temporarily." Though many say that the protesting nor the economic problem is officially a crisis. Gunther will not be charged on any crimes but the Augusticinian government is currently looking at the problems in New Crete.
