A global pandemic has begun... A nuclear warhead that was being shipped from abroad has malfunctioned and detonated in the borders of The Koopa. Radiation has spread into the atmosphere and many have died. It is recommended that those in the effected nation stay indoors to prevent any side-effects or worse, death. The Koopa has sent out distress calls to other nations. Fortunately, the radiation is being disposed of already and with help from other countries, life should return to normal soon.

I assure you President Dotson, we do not enslave our human prisoners. They have committed devious crimes against our nation and have been punished accordingly. However, we do not wish for nuclear warfare as it may delay the clearing of the radiation within affected areas of the kingdom. Although we do frown upon humanity because of their crimes within our nation. This temporary alliance may help our people change their minds. Thank you for your proposal to help us.

"Herr Doktor," an aide said, dropping a stack of printed diplomatic reports on the ornate and supremely cluttered onyx desk.

Sitting at the desk was Doktor Wunderbar, the leader of the Scientific Meritocracy of Ximea. He looked at the stack of papers, then looked at another stack of diplomatic reports that were currently serving as a coaster for a highball glass. The Doktor drained the dregs from the glass and handed it to the aide. "Refill. A little extra tonic this time, and a lot extra gin."

As the aide retreated, the Doktor examined this new report.

"A pandemic," he muttered, nodding appreciatively. Then he frowned. "That's a nuclear accident, not a pandemic."

The aide had returned with a fresh gin and tonic. "Even so, we should be well-equipped to help them out."

The Doktor shrugged. "Eh, probably. What do we do when we have nuclear accidents here?"

"Bulldoze everything into a giant pit?" the aide suggested. "Umm...mass graves?" Quietly, he peeped, "Medical experiments?"

"What does the public think we do?" the Doktor said. "Whatever it is, do that." He set the paper down. "By the way...what's a Koopa?"

We appreciate your help very much. However, the radiation is starting to spread to our major towns and cities and we require help ASAP. Your contributions to the cleanup are very large in scale and we do thank you and In case you are wondering what a koopa is, we are a race of turtle-like beings capable of human speech and intelligence. However, we have noted of your interest in our biology in your letter and we agree, most of the bodies will be decontaminated and disposed of but some will be sent to your nation.

To whom it may concern,

The Government of The People's Republic of Hexshade has recently been recently been made aware of the recent nuclear tragedy in your nation. To secure relations between Human and Koopa and For the sake of International cooperation, the Hexian Soviet Council has voted to send aid to you and your people. Hexian relief squads will be sent to monitor the radiation and to care for the sick and the dying. The Hexian Government is also offering sanctuary to any healthy citizens of your country who need refuge. These refugees will be protected and given the utmost care. We will also be sending funds and equipment to your country as it is needed. I hope we, Humans and Koopa, can move past our differences and work together towards a more Promising future.

The aide had been joined by Professor Slotin, a nuclear expert for the Ximean Ministry of Science. "The Koopas claim that the radiation from the nuclear incident is now reaching populated areas," he said. Gesturing to a map projected on a screen, he said "this is in line with our projections based on our estimates of the design of the nuclear warhead. The next few days should see considerable fallout."

"I don't think it's actually possible to decontaminate a city from fallout, Doktor Wunderbar said. His forehead was pressed against his desk. "Aspririn. For the love of God." The aide opened a bottle and handed it to the leader of one of the world's most scientifically advanced nations - a man personally responsible for several weapon systems capable of ending all life on Earth - who poured out a handful of pills and swallowed them dry.

"It isn't possible," Slotin said. "These cities will need to be evacuated for at least a decade."

Doktor Wunderbar groaned incoherently. Then he said, "More trailers then? And see what else they need. At this point, we can help out, but they've got to run the show."

The King sat in his chambers, reading the letters he has been sent.

"Ok... so they won't be able to decontaminate the cities but they will be able to rehome the citizens, good enough to me. Either way, if they have the materials we should be able to repair the Nuclear Radiation Disposal Units, now that you think about it... They may not have Iridium, Antiranium or Koopidium..."

The King typed up a letter and sent it to all helping nations.

TO: Ximea, Soviet Farm, Hexshade, New United States of Columbia
FROM: The Kingdom of The Koopa

Thank you for your proposal to help us. It will be an honour to work with you. We do have machines that can dispose of Nuclear Radiation but they have broken parts that need the following materials to fix:

Iridium, Antiranium and Koopidium.

Iridium and Antiranium can be found anywhere in the world but Koopidium seems to only be found in our nation. However, our Koopidium mines seem to be some of the worst affected places.

Antiranium is a metallic substance that can temporarily make the effects of nuclear radiation. Koopidium is also a metallic substance but unlike Antiranium, it can completely destroy radiation, we don't know how or why it does this but the radiation needs to be weakened for it to work, which is why we are using it with Antiranium.

I propose that we hold a meeting in my castle within the nation's capital, Kooptropolis, because it is one of the only areas that have functional Nuclear Radiation Disposal Units and was not affected by the radiation in the first place. We do have healthy non-contaminated koopas who escaped radiated areas but eventually all possible accommodation will be full.

The king was in a panic, he sent an emergency broadcast to the entire nation and nations who are helping.

URGENT EMERGENCY BROADCAST

"It is I, King Bowser Koopa, the radiation has been ridden of but the reason why poses as an even bigger threat.
One of our experimental black hole bombs have been set off by radiation, everything in the nation will be annihilated in 30 minutes. Please do not panic, for those who survive without any contamination will be registered for the New Koopa Empire.

I can not stay any longer, I must get to the castle's emergency bunker room.

The camera shut off and went into static. The black hole bomb exploded and those who were not in an emergency bunker were destroyed. The New Koopa Kingdom was declared open and the Koopa society was rebuilt from the ground up.
