Conviction of the NKVD Union (TMF Only!)

After several days of trial, TMF Minister of Justice has declared that the NKVD Union is guilty of violating GAR#25, the "WA Counterterrorism Act". The charges were filed by New-ish Bulgaria's War Justice Department and prosecuted by Council Associate Selta. The NKVD Union denied the accusations, refused a jury, and provided no counterevidence. The NKVD Union has been sentenced by the MoJ to a Military Occupation and the Arrest, Trial, and Detainment of Government and Military Leaders.

It is now considered fact that the NKVD Union has supplied weapons and money to several Communist political minorities throughout the region. This was a direct violation of Clause 2 of the Act, which explicitly bans those actions. With the ruling, New-ish Bulgaria no longer recognizes the NKVD Union. NIB's Military High Council is sending bombers and fighters to destroy military installations within the NKVD Union, and has invited other nations to join in. It is expected that elections will be held as soon as the nation is secured.

As per the provisions of the punishment, SP will be aiding NIB in an invasion of the NKVD Union. SP has been declared a Defcon 2, with a full-mobilization. Heavy units will be moved to the border of SP, and over 150,000 are set to be priming for an invasion. The SPian people are referring to this event and those around the world as The Great War.

SP has publicly declared to NIB that it may use more then just it's 3 airbases in SP: NIB can mobilize mass amounts of troops via our SPian airbases, also, to put them in bombing range of the NKVD Union.

As a result, SP is withdrawing it's WA recognition of the NKVD Union, being the second to do so after NIB. As a security precaution, the royal family and PM Goddard have been evacuated to "The Bunker" (Underground bunker in classified location in the middle of nowhere, used for protection of officials).

The SPian Defence Minister and SPian Military Council for European Affairs have announced mass carpet bombing campaigns that are set to start tonight, with the goal of taking precious military land.

Nearing Crimea, NKVD Union
2300 Hours Local Time

Almost 60% of SP's airforce was sent into Theonatium. However, most of SP's bombers remained. Two hours ago, SPian bombers covertly left the RAF Madrid airbase, en route to the island of Crimea. These troops knew that if they were successful, TMF would be free from the shackles of Communism. They had a lot riding on their backs.

Leftendant Dimitrisen is riding in the flight engineer's seat of one of the transporters. He looks out the window, reminding him of a piece of Ukrainian Poetry. To the left - the sun. To the right - the moon. Ahead - the stars. He and his family emigrated from Ukraine in 1977, and obtained SPian citizenship. They moved into a village in Estvia with a largely Ukrainian population, Novisepol. They thought that they would be safe. This was a year before the, thankfully brief, SPian communist uprising. It was a cold night, he recalls. He was only 6 years of age, when Communist troops decided to take the village. They rammed their way into his house, killing his father on sight. They pushed him, his two sisters, and his mother out and ligned them up in the city center. The men started firing apon the citizens who do not believe in Communist ideals, which his family fit the category of. His mother was shot in the frenzy, as people flee for their lives. Him and his two sisters, crying themselves to death run into the forests, where communist troops are killing fleeing civilians. He and one of his sisters see a communist troop and run in the other direction, but for his other sister, it is too late. She was bayoneted to death. They ran for a surprising 5 miles, and hid in a farmers field for the night. In the morning, the revolution was over with the communists defeated, and SPian troops found them. They lived with their second cousin until they turned eighteen, with his sister dieing of a heart attack just three years ago. Now, it was just him. He had no one. He cursed in Ukrainian under his breath... it was time to avenge his family.... his mother.... his father.... his sister... The leftendant burst into tears, thankfully not noticed by the pilot of co-pilot of the bomber. His sadness turned into rage, and swore death apon all communists.

SPian troops pass the straight of Istanbul, Calstora, and approach the Black Sea. As they reach the presumed NKVD radar capability zone, the bombers descend to a mere 150 feet to avoid detection by radars. It was time. The pilots turn off all lights inside and out, and cut the engines to 30%. Dimitrisen looks out the windows, and sees the lights of Crimea below.

A communications officer pages the aircraft. "Madawaska City to group Alpha, radio check."

The pilot of the bomber responds. "Group Alpha, you have us five and five, over."

"Roger that. Orientation-wise, you are over water, but near the west coast of Crimea. Populated cities lie 7 km to the east. Sevastopol is our target, that will be 150 km to your east at this time."

"Roger that."

At this time, the pilot checks the readiness of the planes riding in convoy behind them. Fighters are escorting. All clear from all the bombers and escorts, it was time.

"Madawaska, Group Alpha requesting senior authorization."

"Roger, standby."

In the control room, both senior officers give the go ahead for the planned strike. It was truly time.

"Group Alpha, senior authorization approved, cleared to drop your entire load on the coastal cities, then get the hell out of there. Fly to Istanbul, Calstora, to reload with fuel and bombs. Then same procedure. This is Madawaska out - good luck."

"Thanks for your help command, see you on the other side. Alpha out."

The pilot jerks the controls to the right, turning the planes towards the coasts. The planes in convoy do the same. In thirty seconds, it was time.

"Alright, we are over the city! I think they have military bases down there. HURRY THE HELL UP, DIMITRISEN!"

"Yes, sir!" screams Dimitrisen. He opens the safety cover on his command board, all four of them. "AHEAD, THE STARS!" he shouts as he pulls the switches. The convoy behind him do the same. The doors open, and bombs start dropping out. In ten seconds, all he can see is flashes coming from the ground, and hearing explosions. The plane accelerates to throttle 100%, and flies the ten-kilometer stretch of city set to be bombed. The last bomb falls. "Close the covers, Dimitrisen!" "Yes, sir!". Dimitrisen pulls the covers to close, the convoy turns west and with their quick ascending, disappear into the night sky above. Dimitrisen has a moment of peace. Countless communists probably died in that attack. But revenge was not complete. The convoy continues it's flight back towards Istanbul. (OOC: I organized that with Calstora via Skype)

26 B-52's, with 104 fighter escorts, after stopping to refuel in SP, buzz off into the night. The aircraft are armed with a new, experimental defense just developed from the NIB Interceptor Missile program. The Flare Cannon jams any radar, then fires a infrared-emitting projectile behind the aircraft, causing an anti-aircraft missile to be pulled away from the aircraft. However, the system requires that the captain notice the blip on his radar screen then arm the system, so it is feared that sidewinder could still cause damage, and all the aircraft in the squadron would lose radar for 10 seconds.

"Bulgaria base, this is Beta 24, requesting target"
"Beta 26, proceed with Beta 07, Beta 16, Zeta 34, Zeta 35, Zeta 36, and Zeta 46 to destroy airbase at the following coordinates: ... Relay message, good luck, base out"

The six aircraft depart the formation and change direction. Over the next several minutes, many other groups of six do the same, and fan out over NKVD airspace. A majority of NKVD Union's military installations will be no more by morning.

SPian bombers refuel in Istanbul, change crew, and are out again. This time, a blitz more further east was to be scheduled.

Logistics specialist Sargent John Wevery, in-charge with loading the next set of bombs, decides to load a much more bigger bomb. The FD-1092 is a heavy and large bomb, that could potentially do thrice the damage as the previous ones. 100 are loaded per bomber.

Two C-130's are loaded with civilian supplies crates, to be dropped over bombed areas. Tucked inside the crate is a little note saying "Courtesy of SP". Also in the package is a leaflet written by the queen herself. It is written in English, Ukrainian and Russian.

"Dear citizen of The NKVD Union,

SP and our allies have come to liberate you from the shackles of communism. You may have never thought of this before, but your government has set our entire world on fire. They have endorsed illegal coup d'etats of many major nations in our region, killing hundreds of thousands of people. With your communist government, we promise you that you cannot excel. You cannot reach your full potential.

We are bombing your lands in an effort to wipe out military installations, not to harm you citizens. If your property is damaged, or a love one is tragically lost, SP will compensate you once the conflict is over.

Please take this aid crate as a gift from us. If you wish to defect and obtain refugee status in SP, await SPian ground units and ask them for so.

Prior to conflict in Crimea

NKVD Intelligence officer, "Winston Blackburn" monitored the clear blue skies of the SPian nation. The soaring of aircraft did not interest him for he was getting far more detailed reports of aircraft movement in the nation. The pride instilled in him during the 1989 Ukrainian Revolution earned him a commissariat ranking with two Order of Lenin awards for his participation. An achievement for a peasant during the monarchy rule. Nonetheless, with the glory times aside, he now stands behind enemy lines.

Standing behind him were two men approaching him. Random checks again? I would be the richest communist if they paid me a dollar every time they asked for my identity! he thought. But no, such a discreet location reduces his chances of getting caught. "BlackBurn?" states the man in the black coat. Winston turned to face the man as he called out his name. "You have what I want?" States Blackburn. "I have what you need, commissar" added the man as he passed the brown paper file BlackBurn. "Decode it and transmit the information to the Soviet High Command immediately" he added.

Soviet citizens are being evacuated into their respective bunkers. The annual drill of a war had become real. The threat of dying from an invasion ignited fears of a great war. The Soviet bunkers were strategically designed to withstand air raids and artillery fire. Constructed in 2002 the bunkers real capability is being tested now.

Soviet Air Command

The airforce has been informed of the current operations in the west after their attacks on Crimea. 5 Su-35s have been dispatch under orders of Air Commodore Kobanov to track the bombers in Istanbul and destroy the strategic bombers while they are taking off for a second strike. The 4th generation Su-35s are state of the aircrafts that the Premier Kuryakin were obsessed with. With sudden delight, pilots of the Su-35 noticed the presence of 2 C-130 on radar heading the opposite direction. The Air Commodore was informed of this and smiled with delight, "Shoot them down!"


NKVD Supreme Council
"The NKVD is impenetrable even if one was to hit it with bombs it will not break this Soviet Republic for it is the will of communism that keeps us going and rising within the ruins" States Premier Kuryakin. The army mobilizes outside the capital of the NKVD Union and waited for orders. Multiple S-400 missile systems have been deployed around the capital and spread out even in the NKVD Union. Pantsir S1 systems were also deployed in military strategic locations. These Surface to Air Missiles were state of the art and were able to intercept any foreign aircraft within a radius of 70-600km.

The NIB bomber squadrons continue to make their rounds, targeting various military installations in the NKVD Union. NIBMHC has authorized the transfer of several F105's, F4's, and A10's to NKVD, the A-10's easily destroying the NKVD S-400's and the F105's and F4's bombing NKVD Union military installations from high altitudes at hypersonic speeds. COM Polemos has issued an ultimatum to the NKVD Union:
"Under the authority of The Military Federation, the NKVD Union has 48 hours to cease resistance to the occupation and to surrender all government and military leaders, or we will take them by force."

Nearing Crimea, NKVD

Having almost crossed the Black Sea, the bombers and transports separate away from each other, the bombers heading to their bombing range, and the transports to the crate drop-offs.

"Clear skies." the pilot of one of the C-130's mutters to himself. He is trailing an F-18 interceptor hornet jet. Ten ride in convoy with the transporters. It was of utmost importance to drop these leaflets - If the indoctrinated populace could open their eyes, the government would have no leverage at all anymore.

All of the sudden, an F-18 pilot spots enemy jets.

"Shit! It's NKVD!" He yells over the radio.

"Ha, about fucking time we see the commies. Look at their old pieces of fighter jet crap they fly. Crew, ENGAGE!" yells the convoy leader.

8 F-18's break their defensive formations and fly full throttle towards the soviets. The first air squadron was preforming this escort, an elite corps.

"Madawaska, convoy group Bravo under attack, preforming evasive action protocol Alpha 6 November." The lead C-130 pilot says through the radio.

The controller responds, "Affirm, retreat towards Calstora, await alternate airways."

The C-130 pilot jerks his controls down and right, loosing ten thousand feet, using the fighter jets in their line formation to provide a distraction. Full throttle is engaged, and the plane is flying back as fast as it can

Lead pilot Leftendant Browley sends a message out towards the enemies via the Unicom channel.

"Attention NKVD aircraft, you are being intercepted by the SPian first air squadron. You are being escorted to allied territory under TMF law. Do not try to fight, do not try to resist! You will be shotdown! Turn left heading 330, and maintain your current speed. Do you understand?"

As a precaution, the squadron arms their homing air missiles. Specially outfitted on only the 1-5th Elite squadron's aircrafts, these missiles will pack a terribly large punch incase of a fight.


Port of Istanbul, Calstora

SPian battleships, destroyers and aircraft carriers arrive in the port overnight from SP and refuel. Securing The Black Sea is a must, by whatever force it takes.

Meanwhile, SP is scrambling more jets to assist in the seizing of the unlawful jets.

Joint MI7-MI8 National Security Conference, Classified Location

"Let's start, shall we?" Says Head of The MI7, Peter Wollsworth.

"Very well. We've got a lot on the agenda." Responds Head of The MI8, Jake Wellington.

"Alright. As you have previously reported to us from our several active spies in the NKVD Union, potential spying in SP might be occurring. Is that right?"

"Yes, Peter."

"Alright. From a national security standpoint, let's close the border completely. No one gets in, no one gets out. Including the enemy spies. Also, let's ground all civilian flights. The risk of a potential terrorist attack, like those that occurred in Florence is way to high to take that chance."

"Fair enough. Our colleagues at the SPATW (SP Anti-Terrorism Watch) and the SPRBSC (SP Royal Border Services and Customs) will have some work to do, ha."

"As in regards to our spies, the only way to fight this threat would be to fight fire with fire. Let's send in a bloody large lump sum of spies. They will retrieve information, and preform assassinations on NKVD officials to lower the communists morale."

"That's a bloody great idea."

As mentioned, all SPian borders are closed to foreign nationals and citizens, and leaving the country, be it a foreign or SPian is not permitted. All commercial flights have been grounded, and any commercial aircraft that enters SP's airspace will be intercepted. Spy activity in The NKVD Union is being heavily increased.

NIB, under the advisement of some of it's Florancian advisors, has decided to replace the B-52 escorts with F22's.
In addition, 15,000 troops are being transferred from IT to Florence. They will work their way toward the Capital to arrest the leaders.

Nearing Crimea, NKVD Union Airspace

Seargent Major Ilyushin hears the voices of English speaking pilots over the Universal Communications device as he turned lowered the volume of the receiver in the Unicom. "Not that I understand what the heck they're talking about" he thought. The sight of 8 F-18 surrounding him did not seem to leak any fear into him as the sight of the two AC-130s seemed very promising for another award to his pilot career.

"Soviet Pilots be advised, the F-18s in your FOA are obsolete compared to our glorious Sukhoi Jets. Take them out, over states Kobanov. "We will engage, over" he added. However the sight of another two aircraft approaching seemed to distract him. It was too small and fast to be an aircraft. Ilyushin's eyes open wide in terror, he checked the mini map at the side and notice he was withing range. Within range of the S-400 Surface to Air missile! Ilyushin immediately pushed his throtle to the left as he and his other comrades did the same.

Couldn't they tell me it was coming? Another reckless joint command cooperation between the air force and the army! he thought. The two missiles missed the AC-130s but still exploded at the rear of the aircraft. It seemed to confuse Ilyushin and his comrades as what seems to be toilet paper, littered the skies.

Capital of the NKVD Union

A group of petty officers was maintaining the tactical long range radio in a small room. The curtains were drawn together leaving the entire room to be gloomy. Lieutenant Colonel Dmitri Katukov was sitting on his chair as he rad loudly through the speaker.

This is Lieutenant Colonel Katukov, if the nation of SP receives this, we are a group of political activists operating in the backstage of the Soviet Republic. We are 12 man strong and we are fighting against the NKVD Supreme council. We successfully managed to infiltrate the ranks of the military although our ranks may not be too significant. We are however willing to cooperate with the SPian authorities in a potential assassination of the Premier and can provide our services should any of your agents require help operating in the NKVD Union.....

"FUCK, We've been hit!" Yells the pilot of one of the C-130's.

"Madawaska, situation is critical, aircraft has been hit! Send in the aerial supports!" The pilot frantically yells through the intercom.

"Affirm, try and hold out, I will dispatch 15 Superhornets from the aerial support division to help you, based in Calstora. ETA is thirty minutes. Get the hell out of NKVD airspace!"

"Roger that."

Leftendant Browley observes the strike, as the aircrafts they are pursuing turn away.

"Damn boys, I think that was an NKVD-based missile! That's it, they are not answering our Unicom communications, and are more then hostile. Flip the switches!"

The F-18's lock on to their respective targets and simultaneously fire their homing anti-aircraft missiles towards the NKVD fleet.

Madawaska City, MI8 Headquarters

SPian Senior Communications Officer Sergeant Collin Redhill observes potential radio traffic coming from The NKVD Union, possibly directed towards the MI8, and orders his team of officers to intercept and decrypt the message. After 30 minutes, the message is decrypted and understood by the communications officers. "Great then, let's make our response" Says Redhill as he assembles his team to send their message out.

The soviets are sent a radio signal towards the communications officers and Dmitri Katukov.

The first 15,000 troops have arrived at the Eastern border of the NKVD Union. Sighting a few hundred border guards, they are immediately arrested. Work has begun on the construction of an airbase. Troops begin to set up temporary structures and hangars, set up anti-aircraft missile launchers, and start work on the two parallel runways.

NIBMHC has authorized the transfer of another 30,000 troops to the base. In addition, 60 F-22's will be shipped and 15 Mirage IV's.

35,000 SPian infantry units arrive at the NKVD Union's borders - covering west of where NIB units are. Same procedure, 230 border guards are found and detained by SPian forces. With the section of border wall in their control, SPian troops set up and detonate charges creating a reasonably sized hole, which will provide access into the NKVD Union.

NIBMIA (New-ish Bulgaria Military Intelligence Agency) has reported rumors that the NKVD Union seeks peace, however, since there has been no official statement, and no appeal filed to the Minister of Justice, NIB dismisses the claims.

Meanwhile, the first fighter jets land at the airstrip, followed by a few of the bombers and a few transports. The Soviet prisoners are shipped to Siberia, where they will share the same camps as the Theoniatian insurgents. The first bombings on Eastern military buildings will commence shortly.

The 230 Soviet detainees are taken by military trucks to SP's makeshift POW processing camp, about 50 kilometers north of the border. They are tried by a makeshift military tribunal, and all except two, who require immediate medical treatment and will be extracted to SP, are found fit to be further detained and processed. Prisoner transport planes picked up the detainees and flew them over 1000 km east, to SP's POW camp located 30km west of NIB land in Siberia, and 15 km South of the NPC's land. SP has announced that it will fully respect the Geneva Convention On The Treatment of POW's, and the WA's Prisoner of War Accord at this facility.


Meanwhile, 30,000 more troops have arrived to the front-lines. They have been nick-named the second wave. SP hereby issues a further ultimatum, with a 24-hour deadline, ordering the people and government of The NKVD Union to turn over all government and military officials to SPian/NIB forces, who will be deemed as culpable or not. If the government fails to comply, SP will preform a ground invasion and enforce the ultimatum by force - which SP warns that such a situation would cause mass casualties on both sides and unnecessary suffering.

Western NKVD Union

The skies of the the NKVD Union was light blue, the sounds of birds chirping wasn't present and the sounds of trucks could be heard. Strangely they stop just 30km away from the CFN troops location. The sounds of machinery operating could be heard as a company of BM-Grad 21s stood still in the direction of the invaders.
They actually thought that they could fight on foreign soil? And ask the government to step down? thought Corporal First Class Kireshenko. Kireshenko was just part of a small company of Motorized Artillery unit. There were at least 3 companies of such units on the western front participating in the operation.

Under orders of General Josef Malenko, the operation will commence now! All artillery operators, Fire! shouted Captain Zinoviev. The burning sounds of rockets filled the sky. A radius of approximately 20 metres were lighted up as the rockets ignition lit up the sky and propelled towards the sky. There were up to 20 120mm rocket launchers on each truck, all of which the launchers wee emptied.

The 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th army comprising of 60,000 men each made their way to the CFN troops location 20 minutes after the artillery order was commenced all of which the army was commanded by Lieutenant General Timoshenko, Lieutenant General Padova, Major General Aleksey and Major General Artem respectively. All of the infantry armies will flank the CFN troops in a hope of isolating them and cut them off their supply routes. The third assault began as the 1st NKVD Tank Battalion and 1st and 2nd Infantry Division make their way in delivering the main punch towards the CFN troops in the west. The newly mass produced Leapord 2A4 Evolution will make its debut in the western theatre as the strength of 250 T-90MS and 150 Leapord 2A4s will serve as a fight for any armoured CFN Units in the west.

Over 80,000 men sit outside the NKVD Union's borders in makeshift troop camps. It was all too quiet so far, with little action in this war. All of a sudden, troops see senior officers running around like crazy and wonder what the hell is going on.

A PA announcement is broadcasted.


All units, all units.
This is not a drill. We are being attacked by NKVD forces. Arm yourself and fall in to your corps! Await orders from your commander!

This message was broadcasted in loop for 20 minutes, as troops run into the makeshift armories to grab their weapons.

Corporal Dishvenski rushes to armory AS-14, his assigned one. He grabs his carbine and his SMG, and as much ammo as can possibly fit in his bag. He falls in alongside 300 other men, the 143rd Infantry Corps. The corps march out towards the primary trenches, dug out in a hurry. 10 minutes of marching later, they arrive alongside thousands of other men and jumps into the trenches. Troops are already firing at NKVD soldiers via mounted guns, and further troops aim their carbines. The battle was going to be bloody, but the more we push, the better.

The captain turns to his soldiers and says to the Spian general "I have 5000 men here, all battle tested and ready to fight."
