Trouble In the Air - OOC

This is basically a 80's, realistic, character driven, hijack scenario RP.

This is a RP where (almost) everything happens in a plane. There is four "sides", consisting of: Crew, passengers, hijackers, and the police. It will be a tactical RP where you plan, and execute. There will hopefully be negotiating, hostages, demands, etc. It is basically up to the sides. The hijackers will get a thread where they can plan, so would the police. Rules will make sure that no one misuses these threads.

The airplane will be a Eldar Air (Lufthansa) owned A300. It will be in foreign land though, so leave a message if you wish this incident to start in your country. Whenever the hijackers strike, is up to them. So the aircraft might be over another country's airspace. Read applications for more information. Keep everything realistic, and as long as it is so, anything can happen!

Bio: Born during the 1960's, at the start of a country-wide economic depression, Jake's family was like any other middle-class family during the time. Both of his parents worked as managers in one of the many factories located in the United States of Unfreedom, as did many people at the time. As the economic depression of the '60s peaked, rising wages and lowered profit forced many of the USU's companies and factories to close shop and move elsewhere. The factories that both of Jake's parents worked in were part of this relocation, which left them both unemployed. Receiving no unemployment benefits of any kind from the USU government, who at the time was more worried about the military than if its people had food, the family was thrust into poverty in an instant. Jake was eight at the time of this class movement and so was left with almost no education of sorts. Everything changed when he was 18 and found that his speaking abilities were first-rate. Along with a group of his friends that he'd had since the Depression, they formed what was intended to be a political lobbyist group. When J. Edgar Hoover Jr. took over power of the country, everything changed. Political freedoms were almost wiped extinct by Hoover and his henchmen, along with most civil freedoms. This group, calling themselves the Industrialists, angered at this unlawful seizure of rights, decided to become a partisan group and fight against the USU government. After a few years of fighting, and the ousting of the dictator of the USU, the group was left..meaningless, or so they thought. Jake began a series of travels around the USU where he whipped up hundreds of small crowds into almost open rebellion. He emphasized that the big corporations, namely the one his parents used to work at, were at fault for all wrong in the USU. In this, he also emphasized the wrong doing of one of the many nations whose the USU's industry was traded to. This nation, by the end of his country-wide 'tour', was practically imprinted on his vocal cords and would inspire him to, if need arise, be a martyr for the Industrialist Group cause, Eldaria.

He only recently completed his last job, and was on his way back home with his wife and youngest daughter. She prefers to be outside - the rougher the terrain the better - and spends as much time as possible with her dog Tyler, who is currently in transit back to Kahlenberg. Because she never had an opportunity to make friends she seems like an introvert, but that is more nurture than nature.

Using his experience in the air force he got a job flying cargo planes however during the economic depression he lost his job and became radicalized as an anarchist. Eventually with the going authoritarian nature of the government he joined the industrialists a militant anti-government partisan group where he discovered his natural ability as a bomb-maker. After several years fighting essentially a guerrilla war the government was overthrown but what replaced the dictatorship of the USU wasn't what the industrialists imagined. Gone was the oppressive arm of the government but in its place was that of that of the trans-national corporations. The joy that he had felt when the dictatorship fell was turned to ash in his mouth as he saw the newly fledged unions stamped out once again and the people consumed by materialism. When one of the old leaders of the Industrialists began to tour the country speaking about how to government was now owned by Eldarian corporations and that the new government had abandoned the people for it's own gain Ryan listened. He had been willing to die to fight injustice once and he was willing to to it again.

Bio: Sanjit was born in the 50s, a time of improvement for the people of North Banrodesia. A new leader, Tanis Adarvien had succeeded the notoriously short-tempered and barbaric Jonathan Slike and promised to improve the living standards of Banrodesians everywhere. The famous Adarvien Abodes project cleared 90% of Banrodesias slums, and ensured good housing for all. Sanjit benefited from this program; his family had lived in a large slum on the outside of Cobregab, and the program rehomed him and his family to a newly built government estate with sufficient comforts. Whilst the days of Nguyen are gone and Roger Markinser leads a more benevolent regime, Sanjit still lives elsewhere, working in the marketing department of Dallcorp, an international conglomerate with roots in Banrodesia. He is on a connecting flight to Cobregab, attempting to visit his family who have been recently released back in his homeland.

Eventually with the going authoritarian nature of the government he joined the industrialists a militant anti-government partisan group where he discovered his natural ability as a bomb-maker. After several years fighting essentially a guerrilla war the government was overthrown but what replaced the dictatorship of the USU wasn't what the industrialists imagined. Gone was the oppressive arm of the government but in its place was that of that of the trans-national corporations. The joy that he had felt when the dictatorship fell was turned to ash in his mouth as he saw the newly fledged unions stamped out once again and the people consumed by materialism. When one of the old leaders of the Industrialists began to tour the country speaking about how to government was now owned by Eldarian corporations and that the new government had abandoned the people for it's own gain Ryan listened. He had been willing to die to fight injustice once and he was willing to to it again.
