Game of Thrones: A New Dawn (OOC/Open)

One Year, one year since the Doom of Valyria (1 AD), and with the loss of the greatest Empire known to man came great uncertainty throughout the world. In Essos the Free Cities eye each other with plots of expansion and the recreation of a great Eastern Empire as Valyrian families that escaped the Doom seek to cement their control over these cities, the Iron Bank of Braavos is the biggest supplier of loans in the world and the gold they receive back is staggering, the Dothraki fight among themselves as each Khal looks to gain dominance in their nomadic warrior society. In Westeros House Durrandon controls the largest swarth of land in Westeros with their kingdom stretching from the Dornish Marches in the South to the Neck in the North, however with House Martell in Dorne, House Gardener in the Reach, House Arryn in the Vale, and House Hoare in the Iron Islands all looking eagerly at the territory of the Storm King it will be only a matter of time until someone makes the first move. In the North House Stark is too preoccupied with a Civil War against the Boltons and their followers to concern themselves with taking Southern Lands. And in Blackwater Bay House Targaryen looks to the entirety of Westeros with plans to create a New Valyrian Empire in the West.

It is in this situation that we all find ourselves as one of the many houses in either Westeros or Essos and it is from here that we'll decide the future of the world.

Map: Map of the World

Rules

1. All Nationstate's Rules apply.
2. No Metagaming, Godmodding, or being an asshole. We are here for fun, don't ruin it.
3. Consider travel times and your army's ability to maneuver. No one post jumps to capitals or the like. Sneak attacks can happen, but are nearly impossible. (For Armies the Distance from Winterfell to the Wall takes Two Weeks to March, For individuals or small groups of riders on horseback that distance takes one week under hard riding.)
4. Consider logistics and the layout of your region/city. Putting armies in the field costs money, you need to feed/pay/arm the troops. Its an undertaking which should not be done on a whim.
5. These are bannermen armies, in other words armies that are mobilized and formed from your general populace. You will only have a fraction of your forces active in peacetime. (Various garrisons/Household Guard forces etc.)
6. Watch out what you do or don't do to your King/Leige Lord. If you ignore them or move against them, they have every right to march to your city and destroy you.
7. This is Game of Thrones, people will be killed. Don't take it personally. However, you most definitely can not just kill a player's character by poison or ambush if they are not aware you are going to do it. (Example: You cannot say that when the King of the North takes a drink of wine, he dies all Joffrey style. No cool bro.)
8. A Dragon's max size at the beginning of the RP is 25m from head to tail. A Valyrian family cannot start out with more than 3 of these dragons.
9. Any Dragons larger than 25m at the start cannot have any impact against other players and must be dead as soon as possible.
10. OOC is completely different from the IC, so don't get sucked into the habit of defending your characters or their action In the OOC.
11. YOU are in control of your characters and their moves don't have to make sense. "Keep your enemies confused on what you will do next. Never be predictable"

Name of House: House Tula

House Banner:Image

General Description of House: House Tula left the Valyrian Freehold many years before the Targaryens did. They settled on Driftmark, an island west of Dragonstone and the largest of the islands in the Blackwater. Since that time House Tula has used their strategic location to control all routes of trade in and out of Blackwater Bay, an act that has enriched their coffers significantly in the years that they've been located at their hold of Driftmark Castle. The Tulas are loyal vassals of House Targaryen.

Head of House: Maemon Tula, a man of four and forty, Maemon has led his House since he was one and twenty, only a year after he took control of his House Maemon led them out of the Freehold and established themselves on Driftmark, a smart move in terms of economics as with House Tula ships Maemon was able to control the trade routes of Blackwater Bay and exact taxes on all trade ships coming in and out of the Bay. Maemon is a loyal man (though he is in no way a traditional man) and is an excellent naval commander, he does not bear the family valyrian steel sword Faithsealer but rather lets his dragon-riding son Rhaegar bear it as a sign of him being Maemon's heir. Maemon is clearly aging with lines coming into his handsome face, he has brilliant silver hair, and his eyes are a dark purple in color.

Notable Figures of House: (Name, Age, History, Personality)

Rhaegar Tula, a man of two and twenty, he bears the sword Faithsealer and rides the female dragon Bloodfyre, a dragon 25m in length and only two and twenty, the she-dragon and Rhaegar have been connected since birth with Bloodfyre having been born in Rhaegar's crib. Trained in the Valryian style Rhaegar is a noted fighter and is a skilled dragonrider. Rhaegar has been distant lately after the death of his mother and Maemon's sister-wife Vaenla Tula who passed away in the night one month ago. However in normal circumstances Rhaegar can be known to be joyous and bold, he is a true warrior who craves the chance to prove himself in a true battle rather than against common rebels, he holds little regard for tradition and prefers practicability though he is still respectful to those who disagree with such a belief. Rhaegar is handsome with long silver hair and light purple eyes that are often soft except in battle.

Baehra Tula, a woman of six and ten, she rides the male dragon Parinath, and prefers the use of a composite bow or her dagger to heavier weapons like swords and maces. Parinath is only 20m long and is six and ten, also born in the crib with Baehra. Baehra is quiet, thoughtful, and beautiful to behold, what she lacks in experience she makes up for in pure intelligence. She has long braided silver hair, lilac eyes, and an hourglass figure.

Valar Tula, a boy of five and ten, he has the female dragon Kaleth, a dragon only 10m long and only eight, the one dragon not born in a child's crib. Brought up as a seafaring boy Valar is expected to take Maemon's place as the leader of the House's fleet while his older brother becomes Lord of the House. Valar is eager to prove himself and keep himself out of his brother's shadow, he is willing to do anything no matter the risk to achieve this. Valar has short silver hair, purple eyes, and is athletic in build after years onboard ships.

History of House: House Tula is a relatively unknown Valyrian House loyal to House Targaryen. 23 years ago Maemon Tula brought his House to Driftmark and took the Island for his family. When he landed Maemon had Driftmark Castle created to symbolize his House's ownership of the island. With the island came a strategic position within the Blackwater Bay which allowed House Tula to control all routes of trade within the Bay and therefore increasing the size of House Tula's coffers. Ever since then House Tula has held a relatively peaceful existence on Driftmark with only the occasional rebelling peasants or resistant merchants to deal with as threats to their control of Driftmark and the Blackwater Bay.

Culture, Customs, and Skills of House: Being of Valyria House Tula brings with them many traditions of Valyria, such as incestuous marriages to preserve the bloodline, slavery, the Valyrian Gods, and prophetic dreams. However their true skill comes in their martial and seafaring abilities, both of which have made them richer since their arrival at Driftmark and Maemon's rule has begun to draw House Tula away from some Valyrian traditions in favor of practicality such as incestuous marriages.

Ancestral Estate: Driftmark Castle
Population: 100,000 over the expanse of Driftmark
Cities: Hull and Spicetown
Race Composition: The Tulas, being of Valyrian descent bear silver hair, lilac, purple, and violet eyes, are fair of skin, speak High Valyrian, and have otherworldly beauty compared to those not of Valyrian descent often times.

Military:
Citadels and Fortresses: Driftmark Castle
Army: 1,000 Men, mostly poorly trained levies armed with spears and pikes. 150 Are Well trained Household Guard.
Navy: 80 Ships

Name of House: Targaryen

House Banner: A red dragon, crowned, on a field of purple.

General Description of House: House Targaryen was one of the weakest of one of the forty warring families in the Freehold, but that is not to say that they were never powerful. Indeed, not long ago they fled to Dragonstone when Daenys the Dreamer showed to her a premonition she had had of the Fall of Valyria. Her premonition has now been proven true, and those lords that mocked House Targaryen can now only look on in shock as the stable Dragonlords of Dragonstone rule across the Narrow Sea. With five dragons at their disposal, it looks as though it may be time for those foolish lords of House Targaryen to return to the warring states of Essos, triumphant.

Head of House: Lord Gaemon Targaryen, called the Glorius, Lord of Dragonstone, wielder of Blackfyre, rider of Ulcrax, one-and-forty. Gaemon was not born on Dragonstone but in Valyria, where he learned to ride atop his dragon in a way like no other place could offer. Ulcrax was his grandfather's dragon, and for this reason it is the most feared of the Targaryen dragons, for Ulcrax is nearly one hundred-and-ten with breath so hot it is thought that the he-dragon could fell a tower in a single gust. Like his dragon, Gaemon Targaryen is an imposing man, standing outrageously tall and wielding Blackfyre with finesse. While he can summon forth an imposing voice should he need to, Gaemon can also act with charm and calm, and his sister-wife Daenys has come to love him for it. They reside together on Dragonstone with four children, Aegon, Elaena, Daeron, and Rhaenyra.

Notable Figures of House:

Lady Daenys Targaryen: Lady Daenys, called the Dreamer, bound to Balerion, nine-and-thirty. Daenys was the one who convinced her father that Valyria would soon face its Doom, and many dragonlords mocked her father when he followed his daughter's heed. Yet now on Dragonstone, the Targaryens are not scattered to the wind with the coming of the Doom, and Daenys has only helped to reaffirm her family's position. Wise beyond her years and more graceful than any Targaryen before her, Daenys is famed also for her beauty. She is most famous, however, for her prophecy of the Doom, and now that it has happened she has become renowned throughout the tattered world for the foresight she had in this matter. Though Lady Daenys is bound to Balerion, she hopes that her daughter Rhaenyra will later come to ride the he-dragon.

Aegon Targaryen: Aegon, wielder of Dark Sister, rider of Hyroxis, three-and-twenty. Aegon was born on Dragonstone, the first Targaryen to have been so, but he soon grew into Targaryen customs all the same. He fights skillfully in the Valyrian style, using a Valyrian steel sword and riding a dragon into battle. His dragon, Hyroxis, is only twenty, yet from head-to-tail the she-dragon stretches to length nearly one hundred-and-five paces in length. By contrast, Aegon stands only six. Riding Hyroxis, who is massive for her age, has given Aegon more ambition than his father has, and now looking across the sea to the Free Cities, and west to the continent beside Dragonstone, he wonders what might be done to influence the outcome for the better. With a father, a sister, and a brother for dragonriders, Aegon believes that perhaps a new Valyria can be carved out. In time.

Elaena Targaryen: Elaena, rider of Philar, one-and-twenty. Elaena, like her brother, was born on Dragonstone, and she has taken up a newer lifestyle than her brother has. Though she can ride Philar into battle, a dragon of eight-five paces and twenty years, she usually rides strictly for enjoyment, and she has not been taught how to properly fight in the Valyrian style, should the need arise. However, Elaena has come to associate herself with the smallfolk of Dragonstone, and has made many a friend out of them. Further, she has healed any rift that has arisen in the court with her tact and eloquence, which is said to rival that of her mother. Wed to her brother Aegon, Elaena is seen as the perfect match for his ambition, and her sharp mind and sense of the people can only prove to help him in this coming struggle.

Daeron Targaryen: Daeron, wielder of Brightflame, rider of Jurelle, nine-and-ten. Born the second son of Gaemon and Daenys, Daeron knew from his birth that he would never hold Dragonstone as his own. Still, he worked diligently with Jurelle, whom hatched a year after Hyroxis and Philar for Daeron was born a year after. Daeron is considered the best fighter of all the Targaryens, and Aegon is worried that his younger brother might come to assail him in the future. Daeron, however, has no interest in usurping his brother's tiny island. He wants to return to Essos, to forge an empire out of fire and blood like the Valyrians of old.

Rhaenyra Targaryen: Rhaenyra, She-Who-does-not-Ride, six-and-ten. Rhaenyra is the youngest of the four siblings, and that has perhaps made her naive to the workings of the world. Though she is more beautiful than both her mother and sister combined, Rhaenyra has little idea of what to do with that beauty, and Elaena has often remarked that Rhaenyra could be a goddess and be afraid of the pettiest mortal. Though she could have ridden Balerion, Rhaenyra considered the dragon too frightful in its horrible blackness, and so instead let her mother--whom had hatched the dragon--be bound to him.

History of House: The Targaryens are some of the youngest of the dragonlords, and have little history past that which they did after forging Dragonstone. They were never true rulers of Valyria, but now it seems history has taken a turn for them. The history of House Targaryen, it seems, lies not in a glorious past but in an indomitable future.

Culture, Customs, and Skills of House: Being of Valyria, the Targaryens practice incestuous marriage to maintain the purity of their bloodlines. They fight in Valyrian styles, hold slaves of those rebellious smallfolk, dabble in sorcery, can have prophetic dreams, worship the Gods of Valyria, and can--of course--ride dragons. It is not uncommon for the males of the House to take concubines and paramours, though they are usually kept in the town building around Dragonstone and not at court. Further, the smallfolk of Dragonstone are being to claim vague relation to House Targaryen, and at least three men and a woman on the island assert they are the bastards of Aenar the Exile, though Gaemon denies this to be true.

Ancestral Estate: Dragonstone

Population: 180,000 people over Dragonstone, Driftmark, Claw Isle, and all other Targaryen demesne

Cities: n/a

Race Composition: The Targaryens, being of High Valyrian descent, bear silver and platinum hair beside lilac and violet eyes. Usually fair of skin, they speak High Valyrian and, like other Valyrians, are considered to be of otherworldly beauty.

Military:

Citadels and Fortresses: Dragonstone

Army: 3,600 men, majorly peasants but 100 men retained as a guard trained in Valyrian combat

Navy: 120 warships, eighty belonging to House Tula

Name of House: House Arryn
House Banner: Image
General Description of House: House Arryn... Where to begin? A old an proud house, they have ruled the Vale for hundreds of years. Self styled as the Kings of Mountain and Vale, the Arryns are proud and honorable. They are relatively rich and powerful, however they generally are isolationist. They have had good relations with the Starks of the North in the past; however, with the recent civil war between the Boltons and the Starks, the Vale was able to seize the Three Sisters from the North...
Head of House: King Artys Arryn II, a man of forty and seven, he has lorded over the Vale for fifteen years. A skilled politician and "schemer", he excels at court issues and politics. Held in high regard by the Lords of the Vale, King Artys is well liked by both his vassals and his banners. His command over his vassals has allowed a steady increase in power for his family as well as the territory held by the Vale. Wed to Lady Jenye Royce.
Notable Figures of House:
Crown Prince Robbert Arryn - Firstborn son of Artys Arryn, a man of twenty and two, Robbert has the intellect of a Maester and the sword skill of a knight. He is a kind and generous man, but is not without controversy.

Robbert gained fame during the conquest of the Three Sister islands... The Three Sister are a small island chain above the Vale and below the North. Normally, the Starks would ensure these islands are well defended as the Vale has always had an eye for them; but sins the beginning of the Bolton Rebellion, the Sisters were gutted for soldiers. This gave the Vale a prime opportunity.

The attack was swift and deadly. Sisterton fell first... The city has strong defenses, but when you don't have any forewarning... This is were Robbert earned his nickname "The Blue Death". Robbert had lead the force into the town and began cutting through all who stood in his path wother his sword "Brightkiller". The Blue Valyrian sword slashed through armor like it was butter...

He is married to Arya Grafton and has one daughter, Princess Myrcella Arryn. Prince Robbert is often seen with his daughter, either carrying her or letting the three year old walk beside him.
He currently wields the Valyrian Steel sword "Brightkiller".
Crown Princess Arya Grafton - The wife of Prince Robbert, Arya is a beautiful woman of twenty. She was born into House Grafton of Gulltown. While the marriage between her and the Prince was arranged, she believes that the Prince whispered in the King's ear. Arya was married at ten and eight to Prince Robbert.

Viewed to be exceedingly beautiful and intelligent, she is given a lot of power within the Eyrie itself. She currently resides in the Eyrie.
Princess Elia Arryn - A woman of ten and eight, Elia is the joker of the Arryn family. She is constantly playing tricks on her older brother and his wife. She is also a very accomplished archer, often beating Jaime. A fun-loving woman, she is seen by many as hard to control and unsubmissive. While many Lords would rather not see their son marry her, they shan't refuse as she is the Kings daughter...
Prince Jaime Arryn - A young man of ten and eight, Jaime is the twin of Elia. A smart man, Jaime is often in the war chambers, trying to come up with war plans for a invasion of the Riverlands... The strategist of the family, Robbert often refers to him as "Lord Commander Arryn". A strong leader and motivator, he is often seen to be the obvious choice for any military campaign...

While not as martial as the other members of House Arryn, he is known to practice archery. Although he is not as skilled in archery as most, he tries...
Princess Sansa Arryn - the youngest daughter of King Artys, Sansa is nine years of age. She takes after her father in regards to her interests. She is often seen with the King, speaking about everything from how her dolls are, to the Dragon Lords in the Blackwater Bay.

Many in the Eyrie and the Gates of the Moon call her, "The King's spy", as most things said around her will find its way to the King. While she may be cunning and a manipulator, her loyalty to her family is unmatched. While she may be nine physically, many believe she is much older... Rumors...
Ser Hjor Ulf - Said to be from the Mountain Clans, Hjor is a beast of a man. Weighing almost 400 pounds and at 6' 9", he has earned the nickname of "The Bear" in the Arryn circles and "The Brute" outside the Vale.

History of House: Following the invasion of the Andals, the Arryn family has consolidated much of the Vale's power around the Eyrie and Gullton. With their trade, the Arryns have amassed a considerable amount of wealth. Not on the scale of King Lannister or the Storm King, but they have wealth...

The Gates of the Moon protect the Vale from all attacks from the West and their fleet protects them from a seaborne invasion. Many have suggested the southern road as a potential way to bypass the Bloody Gate, however it is a fool's gambit. It would take months to fight through the Vale and reach the Eyrie...

Following Prince Robbert's marriage to a Grafton, the relationship between King Aryts' and Gulltown has increased. Many of the Lords are looking to marry their sons to Princess Elia or Princess Sansa. Prince Jaime is also looking for a wife, but he has refused most of his father's picks.
Culture, Customs, and Skills of House: Known to be quite the marksmen, the Vale has some of the best archers in Westeros. The Bloody Gate is the premier location for archers as well... The Vale itself worships the Seven Gods of the Andals. They take religion seriously, however it is well known that religious zealots are not welcome in the King's Court.
Ancestral Estate: Gates of the Moon (Winter Castle) and the Eyrie (Summer Castle)
Population: 1,500,000
Cities: Gulltown, Wickendon, Sisterton
Race Composition: Of Andal descent, House Arryn can trace its lineage back to Andaleos itself.

Military:
Citadels and Fortresses: The Eyrie, Gates of the Moon (Most other cities have some sort of defenses)
Army: 45,000 Bannermen, 300 permanent Arryn Guard at the Eyrie and 150 at the Bloody Gate.
Navy: 60 ships

Alotopia wrote:Name of House: House Arryn
House Banner: (Image)
General Description of House: House Arryn... Where to begin? A old an proud house, they have ruled the Vale for hundreds of years. Self styled as the Kings of Mountain and Vale, the Arryns are proud and honorable. They are relatively rich and powerful, however they generally are isolationist. They have had good relations with the Starks of the North in the past; however, with the recent civil war, the Vale seized the Three sisters from the North...
An all around good son, Robbert has been the Arryn face since he was ten. He is often seen traveling the Vale, ensuring an Arryn presence throughout the Realm. He is married to Arya Grafton and has one daughter, Princess Myrcella Arryn. Prince Robbert is often seen with his daughter, either carrying her or letting the three year old walk beside him.

However, since the birth of his daughter, he has let his brother Jaime take over the traveling... He currently wields the Valyrian Steel sword "Brightkiller".
Crown Princess Arya Grafton - The wife of Prince Robbert, Arya is a beautiful woman of twenty. She was born into House Grafton of Gulltown. While the marriage between her and the Prince was arranged, she believes that the Prince whispered in his father's ear. Arya was married at ten and eight to Prince Robbert. She currently resides in the Eyrie.
Princess Elia Arryn - A woman of ten and eight, Elia is the joker of the Arryn family. She is constantly playing tricks on her older brother and his wife. She is also a very accomplished archer, often beating Jaime. A fun-loving woman, she is seen by many as hard to control and a free will.
Princess Sansa Arryn - the youngest daughter of King Artys, Sansa is nine years of age. She takes after her father in regards to her interests. She is often seen with the King, speaking about everything from how her dolls are to the Dragon Lords in the Blackwater Bay.
Ser Hjor Ulf - Said to be from the Mountain Clans, Hjor is a beast of a man. Weighing almost 400 pounds and at 6' 9", he has earned the nickname of "The Bear". He is never seen without his armor, and rarely leaves Prince Robbert. Ser Hjor is the personal guard to Prince Robbert.

OOC Info:
Nation Name: Alotopia
RP Examples: Well, seeing that you borrowed my rules from my rp... :D

Name of House: Gaelyreos
House Banner: White Dragon upon a Red background
General Description of House:
Head of House: Aelor Gaelyreos - aged 54, King of Sarnor and Dragonlord of Valyria, an experienced warrior and politician who shows no signs of letting his age stop him from conquest. He has ruled over Sarnor for only six years now, but has firmly established his dynasty through cruel yet efficient means. He is the rider of the dragon Uialonax
Notable Figures of House: Naerys Gaelyreos - aged 53, Queen of Sarnor, sister-wife of Aelor and mother of most of his children. The more regal of the sisters, taking her duties very seriously which puts her at odds with her younger sister.
Daenerys Gaelyreos - aged 51, Queen of Sarnor and sister-wife of Aelor. Daena prefers adventuring and hunting to the life of court, though the death of her dragon hit her hard and pushed her into a depression that has never truly passed.
Taelerys Gaelyreos - aged 32, second son of Aelor and Crown Prince of Sarnor. Married to his sister Rhaenys, an experienced warrior and amateur politican who follows his fathers orders loyally. Rider of the white dragon Valhaegon.
Vaegon Gaelyreos - aged 30, third son of Aelor and Prince of Sarnor. Married to his half-sister Daena, a mighty warrior who prefers fighting to talking. Rider of the dragon Ragnarax.
Valyx Galerios - aged 35, Eldest son of Aelor and a legitimised bastard. Married to Valerie of Lys, he is a shrewd diplomat and spymaster.
Aemon Gaelyreos - aged 15, the eldest son of Taelerys and Rhaenerys. He has proven himself to be a capable warrior, and shows skill in the art of dragon taming due to a slight bonding with Valhaegon, though his egg has still not hatched like the rest of his siblings.
Daenara Gaelyreos - aged 16, the only daughter of Valyx and Valerie.
Srenna - aged 24, a young wildling and former slave who has become Aelor's concubine. Her presence is accepted by most of the family bar Naerys.

Rest of the family can be viewed here

History of House: The Gaelyreos family were once one of the forty Valyrian families to rule the Freehold as Dragonlords, reigning over vast lands and thousands of slaves from their great tower in Valyria. The family fled Valyria ten years before the Doom occurred, rivalry with another family having descended into savage fighting which left most of their greatest and fiercest dragons dead. Taking hundreds of slaves and a small number of Valyrian subjects, they moved into the fractured lands of the Kingdom of Sarnor and took up residence in Sarnath. An argument with the High King led to Aelor slaying the man and taking his crown for his own, vowing to carve out his own kingdom.

Construction of a new, Valyrian-esque palace began as Aelor set about conquering the small Sarnori Kingdoms who resisted his rule. Through the use of his dragons, though young, he was able to quickly quell the opposition and establish himself as the only King in Sarnor. His campaign took four years and the next four were spent rebuilding the shattered lands and creating a new aristocracy to serve under him. The Tall Men who had rallied to his cause quickly became the new Lords in this Kingdom, with Aelor preferring to keep his small Valyrian community in his court with separate housing in the city from the Tall Men. Thus a noble quarter was etsablished, and the purity of the Valyrian bloodline could be kept.

Aelor had been preparing for war with the Freehold when the Doom occurred, several of the ruling families having found his new kingdom threatening to the prosperity of their empire. News of the destruction reached Aelor, and now news of increase Dothraki activity has reached him as well. He prepares to face enemies on all fronts as he embarks upon a new conquest, the creation of a new Valyrian Empire.
Culture, Customs, and Skills of House:
Ancestral Estate: Formerly Gaelyreos Tower, now Sarnath
Population: Around 5 million
Cities: All of the cities of Sarnor,
Sarnath of the Tall Towers
Kasath, City of Caravans
Sathar, the Waterfall City
Gornath by the Lake
Sallosh by the Silver Shore, City of Scholars
Rathylar
Hornoth
Kyth
Mardosh the Unconquerable, City of Soldiers
Saath

Race Composition: The Gaelyreos House is completely Valyrian, though their subjects are Tall Men.

Military:
Citadels and Fortresses: Sarnath, Mardosh and Sathar
Army: 80,000 Bannermen, a Household guard of 2000.
Navy: A small fleet of 20 ships

Accepted! Though I should ask if you want any Household Guard, they're trained soldiers while bannermen tend to just be peasants with spears shoved in their hands. Not to mention a Household guard would be needed to keep your family safe and your orders followed.

Name of House:
House Banner: A golden crown with sails on a field of gold and black, with the words All Must Pay (I couldn't use their actual sigil due to it being related to lands they don't own in this, and their words are unknown)
General Description of House: House Hoare is a house renowned for it's raids, seamanship, and strange customs. Devout followers of The Drowned God, House Hoare prefers tradition over anything new. Not particularly honourable or merciful, but they know strength when they see it and respect those with it. They've ruled The Iron Islands fora centuries after the collapse of House Greyiron during the Andal invasion. They have generally rocky relations with most of the great houses, but the known ferocity and reliability of the house deters any aggression. House Hoare is always open to treaties, provided it furthers their own gains.
Head of House: Harland Hoare, 38. A cold but ambitious man, Harland was born to the rock wife of Lord Victaron Hoare. Harland contracted greyscale at a very early age. After countless prayers, vinegar baths and remedies, Harland was miraculously saved. However, it left the left side of Harland's face disfigured, and a lasting effect on Harland himself. The eldest of three, Harland became known by his tutors and courtiers as Harland the Hateful, due to his habit of lashing out at people. He often threatened to bite people and give them greyscale. His other siblings (Qhorwyn and Harwyn) never particularly showed any love to Harland, which he deemed an injustice unfixable.

This caused Harland to become more shrewd when around his family, ignoring them even when they're offering counsel. His isolation from his family allowed Harland to focus his mind elsewhere, making him evermore dutiful and diligent. He preferred to eat his food quickly as to get out to the yard and continue to practice. He excelled at using a spear better than a sword, and preferred a heather shield. He was decent with a bow but he was best at riding. Harland captained his first ship at the age of 14, which he named 'The Misty Maiden'.

Harland inherited the Seastone throne at 26, only a week after his father's death at sea. He is known to be a harsh ruler, but also just and honest to the point where he can sometimes appear rude. He respects strength above all and doesn't care how honourable a man is. He also believes that his House should be much stronger than it's current state, and plans to correct that. Impatient, lustful and envious of the other kings.
Notable Figures of House: Qhorwyn Hoare - 34, second eldest son of Victaron Hoare. Qhorwyn is bitter and sardonic. He feels that Harland has wronged him by ignoring all his council. Qhorwyn is also displeased with his marriage to Asha Botley, a woman less-than-plain. Everything in his life is considered an insult from Harland in some way. Qhorwyn is good at using an axe, but can not captain a ship properly which gets him great disdain from his fellow ironborn. It is said he has fallen from his ship so many times, the salt of the sea has stained his beard white. (Falling from his ship).

Harwyn Hoare - 28, youngest son of Victaron Hoare. Like his brother Qhorwyn, Harwyn prefers to use an axe. However, unlike every ironborn, Harwyn hates fighting. Although being good at captaining ships, leading men into battle from the front and using an axe and shield, Harwyn believes the ironborn should save up gold in case of war instead of trying to start them. Of course this advice is ignored by his scornful lord-brother Harland, but Harwyn

Yara Mudd - 43, rock wife of Harland Hoare. Above average looks despite coming from a rather plain family, Yara is known for her charisma and enthusiasm for her husband's exploits. Yara is very much in love with Harland, but he sees their marriage created out of duty. Yara is kind, temperate, patient and humble, almost the complete opposite of Harland. She only likes the fighting of tourneys, although they're an Andal tradition, and prefers to knit and sew. Whilst Harland is off raiding and fighting she sits and sings like the perfect maiden she was raised to be.

Euron Hoare - 19, sole heir of The Iron Islands. Prefers sword over axe or spear, Euron is the only child of Harland Hoare and Yara Mudd. Known to be a perfect cross between his mother and father. He inherited his father's love of justice and skill at fighting, while also inheriting his mother above average looks and charisma. Euron currently captains 'The Morning', a triple masted galley given to his command on his 18th nameday, and wields the family sword Sea Weeder, which has a kraken on it's hilt. Euron is said to have a tongue as sharp as his sword, but isn't as faithful to The Drowned God as other Hoares. He is tolerant and knows to use mercy when he believes it necessary, even allowing Essosi and Septons aboard his ship. His ship doubles as a raiding vessel and a transport for any he deems worthy.

Lysa, Lyanna, Maege Hoare - Salt wives of Harland, taken from The Stormlands. The three have been kept in the same court for the past eleven years. Although slightly different, they are all hardened and defensive to themselves with a burning hatred for Harland, who ripped them from their homes.
History of House: House Hoare began as humble vassals of House Greyiron, the first kings of the Isles. However, during the Andal invasion in the Age of Heroes, it is said the Hoare's allied the Andals through marriage, and swiftly destroyed House Greyiron. With no true heir, a kingsmoot was called which lasted three months before The First Hoare King, Theon, was chosen. After weeks of quarrel, they played the finger dance resulting in a Hoare king.. He later became known as Theon black blood after being poisoned at a feast, and bleeding black instead of red.

House Hoare had ruled the Iron Islands without real war truly stinging them for the first few centuries. They continued to raid as was their price, but steered clear of diplomacy for the most part. However, under Edmyn Hoare The Fourth King of the Isles, House Hoare unsuccessfully warred against The Rock, The Reach and The North. Yet that was centuries ago, and Harland believes that relations have repaired...
Culture, Customs, and Skills of House:
Ancestral Estate: Hoare Castle, Great Wyk
Population: 1,132,060 approx.
Cities: Lordsport, Ten Towers, Pyke, Volmark
Race Composition: House Hoare and and the Iron Islands are completely made up of Ironborn.

Military:
Citadels and Fortresses: Pyke,(Only Kings or Lord Paramounts will have more than one of these)
Army: (see below for sailors) 20,000 or so non-reaver banner-men. 150 permenant guard in Lordsport and Hoare Castle.
Navy: [urlhttp://awoiaf.westeros.org/index.php/Iron_Islands#People]25,000 or so men, with 500 longships[/url]

The United Eastern States of Europe wrote:Name of House:

Hello fellow CAS member, any house or city you want me to reserve for you?

Either way, I'm sure this'll be a fun read.
