[Suggestion] Ways to make or keep a country smaller.

Postby Telvossere » Thu Jul 30, 2015 2:29 am

Hello, I would like to permanently have a couple of small nations for rp purposes, is there anyway to keep a country small indefinitely, limit or even reduce population growth?

Perhaps a toggle to encourage emigration?

Thanks

No.
I will probably be inactive for the Summer, but you can find me on New Hellenica.

We can't limit the population growth. It just grows.

What you can do, is just RP on your preferred amount of people and ignore the number on the nation page. It's what many people do.

Thanks for the answers, for the suggestion, even a simple drop down box to lower the pop from its max value would be appreciated, so you can set it to anything below what you've achieved in gameplay terms, purely for rp uses.

Population is a badge of longevity. I've got 2.5 billion people in this nation, but I RP it as about 50 million.

I'm going to echo Blaat here: you can just RP this stuff. There's no need for a feature for it.

You can use your motto field for that, or expound upon it at length in a Dispatch, or put it in your forum sig. We're not going to change how population displays for the small number of people who have expressed interest, versus the very large number of people who prefer it remain the way it is.

Would it not work to surf updates? Admittedly it would require being on every 12 hours, but it would work?

Technically, it would, but I don't really see the point of going to all that trouble to keep your population down.

Thanks for the ideas. Motto seems the best bet.

In fairness I am new, I have no idea how many people have suggested it or would (or would not) welcome such a feature. Though nothing would need to be changed mechanics wise apart from an optional drop down box for people who wanted it in settings.

It would save me having to remake a country ever so often :) so might be worth it, just to leave a browser window open, if that'll do it, thanks for the suggestions guys.
