The issue you currently have, Issue #6, is one of Max's original 31 and will not be edited.

However, once you reach 1 billion citizens, you'll get an issue that lets you choose a national religion.* See this thread for more details: viewtopic.php?f=15&t=57842

*if you pick an option that unlocks the field

You didn't seem to mind changing the [effect] line of the third option recently, even though I saw nothing wrong with the original...

No idea what you're talking about. Can you clarify?

#006 option 3 now does "the nation's official head of religious affairs is an atheist", when I'm pretty sure it used to be something more like "the government is avowedly atheist". I distinctly recall the former line only starting to show up fairly recently, anyway.

Huh, just searched the sekret forums. It was actually Max who edited that a while ago.

Thing is, it's not even accurate - the nation's head of religious affairs isn't an atheist (anymore), because he just resigned!

3. Finally, there's @@RANDOMNAME@@. "If I am awarded the appointment, I will immediately resign," the ex-schoolteacher has declared. "Because, frankly, God is a big load of hokey. I'll be doing everyone a favor by just shutting up about it."

Hmm… good point, Trott.

I totally agree with the first point. I don't like any of the options, and there is no way to choose buddhism. We should be able to choose those bits at the start, as it means you can seem detached from your country. I don't care how long it has been like this, but it has to change.

Mentioning Buddhism by name would be just as problematic as mentioning Catholicism by name. You're never going to be able to list all of the religions someone might want to use.

Just decide on the religious leader's faith, and presumably their name, and put those details in your sig &/or factbook: You don't have to wait for a suitable issue before defining details like that...
The Confrederated Clans (and other Confrederated Bodys) of the Free Bears of Bears Armed
(includes The Ursine NorthLands) Demonym = Bear[s]; adjective = ‘Urrsish’.
Population = just under 20 million. Economy = only Thriving. Average Life expectancy = c.60 years. If the nation is classified as 'Anarchy' there still is a [strictly limited] national government... and those aren't "biker gangs", they're traditional cross-Clan 'Warrior Societies', generally respected rather than feared.

Just use the five biggest religions.

Silly. The point of the issue is how religious you want your country to be (and, presumably, how much the gov't spends on spirituality) - it doesn't really matter which religion it is!

If you want your country to be more rigorously organized, religiously, pick option #1. If you prefer a more spiritual medium, pick option #2. If you desire a more secular, areligious utopia, pick option #3. If you just can't stomach any of those options, dismiss the issue and wait for A Question of Faith. It's that simple.

Just use the five biggest religions.

But the five biggest religions in RL aren't necessarily the five largest in NS...

Also what counts as "one religion"? A lot of religions are very similar in nature except for the detail that their adherents hate each other's guts.
