After the tragic death of her suitor
The Prut delegation finally arived in Courtsland. Just three man. One was the liason of the Großkommandant, Roger Stefan Brandt, as the official spokesperson of Neo Prutenia's leader, carrying with him vital documents and papers which would make any and all relations with Courtsland valid, offical and internationally recognized. With him were Walter Heinrich von Brandenburg, a man chosen for his diplomatic capabilities and know-how, as well as his son, Oberst Georg Benedict von Brandenburg, arguably the most important member of the delegation, as he was not long ago proclaimed Grand Duke of Courtsland ( http://forum.nationstates.net/viewtopic.php?f=5&t=34658 ), but also chosen by the Empress as future husband to avoid a Morganatic marriage and help stabilize the country. Each of them was prepared to do his part in the following houres, which will determine the relations between the countries. The anxiety could be felt by all participant of the event.
The Prut man tried their best to respect Courtsland Etiquette, and while honoring most of the rules perfectly, a small number of errors and holding back at some more open shows of submission, bowing in particular, were more or less skipped. It wasn't as a gesture of disrespect, merely an inability to forgo their heritage and upbringing, as if their muscles and memory wouldn't let them acknowledge another one being greater or smaller then them. In a certain way, it was funny to look at this display of disobedience, combined with formal adress and politeness. You can take a Prut out of Neo Prutenia, but you can't take Neo Prutenia out of a Prut. After a small exchange of looks, all three agreed that the Herr Oberst, Georg Benedict von Brandenburg, the Grand Duke of Courtsland and possible next Emperor of Courtsland should have the honor and priviledge to adress her excellency, the Empres, first. And he did so, with a deep and polite voice and a step forward, tilting his head slightly down, to show proper respect, exposing his neck and putting his arms behind his back.
" Your excellency, my Empress, it is a great honor and personal pleasure to finally meet you in person. No picture shown to me was capable of capturing even an centimeter of your natural beauty and charm. As I have served you aas an advisor for the last couple of days, as demanded by my oath and your needs, I came now to again, before you repeat that Oath if needed, and accept my title. We also brought to her excellencies convenience, all the papers and documents proving my heritage, identity and royal blood, so that no dissenter may point and accuse our future union as a Morganatic one. We, the Prut, as stated before, would never allow, a wise and important leader such as yourself, to be cheated and forced to settle for anything less then a perfect candidate," - as he spoke those words, he gestured to a nearby servant and gave him the papers, for the Courtsland experts to confirm - ," Now, if her excellency would allow me to introduce, first my father, Walter Heinrich von Brandenburg, the man who first contacted your excellency, and whom you made the happiest and most proud father in the world, by accepting me as your husband and co-ruler." - The older man, steppped forward, with a feint, barely noticable smile, but a sign of happiness non the less - " It is a pleasure, your excellency" - saying that, and then stepping back, after which Benedict continued - " And least, but not last, the liason to the Großkommandant, Roger Stefan Brandt, the man who will document and ratify any decision which her excellency chooses to make today." - The liason had a small Briefcase with the documents and didn't bother to interrupt the Oberst, choosing just to step forward silently and bowing a little.
