[DRAFT] No rest for the Dead!

Postby Revanta » Sun Jul 05, 2015 3:48 pm

Title: No rest after death!
Description: The increasingly high rate of dead people getting out of
their graves has led to many concerns among your citizens, who now
wait for the government to act.
Validity: Not valid for nations that don't have graves / have no
spirituality at all
Options:
[option]“This is sick!“ screams Sergeant @@RANDOMNAME@@ into your
ears. „Zombies? In our beloved towns? The military will not accept our
population to be torn apart by brain-eating slugs! Give us permission
to shoot and we will get rid of those nasty undead beasts!“
[effect]graveyards are fenced off and guarded by soldiers in uniforms
[stats]military expenses rise a little, safety rises

[option]"Of course, something has to be done“, explains @@RANDOMNAME@@
slowly, who happens to be an expert at finances, „but we shouldn't
intervene...agressively. What about burning all bodies instead of
burrying them and - putting the remaining zombies into our zoos? That
will be a plus for both keeping our houses warm and getting more
tourists to @@NAME@@.“
[effect]kids avoid the creepy parts of the zoos containing zombies and
rather stay at home
[stats]tourism income rises, godlessness rises, civil rights decrease
slightly [as people are not allowed to bury the dead anymore]

[option]"This is not fair!“ mumbles @@RANDOMNAME@@, who has just
gotten out of the grave and misses half of his chin, „@@NAME@@ lacks
experienced workers, and who is more experienced than someone who has
lived an entire life already? Give us the right to live and work, or
well, the right to be dead and yet work.“
[effect]many zombies apply as surgeons to have a little snack every now and then
[stats]civil rights increase, healthcare decreases, population rises slightly

So, this got rejected after some months. The reason was "Unfortunately your entry wasn't good enough to make it through as an Editor.". I'm fine with accepting my issue not being good, but I don't know how I can "encourage" myself to write more issues if I don't even know what's wrong.

So tell me. Don't worry, I'll cry, no matter what you say.

NationStates prefers halfway realistic issues that don't involve blatantly supernatural stuff like the dead rising from their graves. Except in easter eggs, while are more free to be shamelessly silly, and as it happens, we already have on about zombies.

Ah okay, well, I never got any Easter Egg, so I didn't know about this issue. But at least it exists.
I just really didn't like the way they designed the Halloween special with their blatantly supernatural "zombie apocalypse".

It wasn't "supernatural", it was a movie-style disease-caused "plague", hence the use of 'cure missiles'...
The Confrederated Clans (and other Confrederated Bodys) of the Free Bears of Bears Armed
(includes The Ursine NorthLands) Demonym = Bear[s]; adjective = ‘Urrsish’.
Population = just under 20 million. Economy = only Thriving. Average Life expectancy = c.60 years. If the nation is classified as 'Anarchy' there still is a [strictly limited] national government... and those aren't "biker gangs", they're traditional cross-Clan 'Warrior Societies', generally respected rather than feared.

Honestly, I don't think the editors would make another zombie issue. As a result, I would suggest abandoning the issue.

I support insanely high tax rates, do you?

This is meant as a joke, right? I'm sorry, I'm really bad at spotting jokes sometimes ._.
