The Invasion
On June 6th, 1944, 150,000 Allied troops waded ashore onto the beaches of Normandy as part of Operation Overlord, to defeat Nazi Germany and gain a foothold on the continent. This titanic effort was only one of several battles during the Second World War, one of the worst conflicts in human history. 70 million people were killed during 1939 and 1945 in a massive struggle to decide who would be the dominant powers in the world. You are part of the fictional 25th Infantry Brigade of the Wehrmacht under the command of an SS-Brigadefuhrer.
The brigade will be thrown onto the frontline of the largest amphibious invasion in history. Whether or not they can repulse it successfully is up to the people in the IC to decide.

Chain of Command
In this RP, the brigade will have a chain of command. I will be RPing the brigade's commander while every rank below it is available for characters to choose. Be realistic though, an 19-year-old is unlikely to have the rank of Colonel.
Characters
You can be any soldier within reason, as the Regiment has a wide variety of roles to fill such as demolitions expert, tanker, or regular infantryman, but you can't be something like an elite special forces commando when you're in an Army regiment.

Biography: Franz was born in 1914 to a wealthy family of the nobility, the rulers of their own little realm in Central Germany. His father Michael joined the German Army when the war started and was killed in action at the very last engagement of the war in Northern France. Michael's son and his family were devastated by the news. They all decided to adopt a pacifistic mindset, refusing to fight for their country. Franz, however, had other plans. He secretly wanted revenge against the people who had killed his father in the First World War.
When the Nazis took power in 1933, Breitner eagerly signed up for the Schutzstaffel, Hitler's personal bodyguard unit. Just before the war began in 1939, Breitner was promoted to Brigadefuhrer as a reward for his loyal service. He fought loyally for the Reich from Poland to Greece but was regulated to occupation duty in the Western Front commanding a regiment in Normandy after an embarrassing incident in a commanding officer's presence. Now as the Normandy Invasions are happening, the officer sees this as a chance to prove himself in the face of his commanders.
