[Idea]Add loaf of bread price to overview discription

Postby Camber and Dufector-Summits » Sat Jul 04, 2015 9:46 am

For some reason this really bugs me. On the overview for a country your given information about average salary and economic worth but since it gives it in your fictional currency the information is meaningless as you have nothing to compare it too. Without being too meta adding the price of bread would give some idea on the actual value of the currency(even though in RL situations like supply and demand change affect this).
If I wanted to make your life easy I wouldn't have picked such a name for my nation.
Obnoxious, self rightous, very humble british guy (There's also some socialist views thrown it there as well)
A nation of ethnic divides, corruption, power politics and a affair of the heart with Communism.

Or oil. Lots of goods could be added, but I'm sure there's somewhere that you'd see the value of your fictional nations' currency compared to NS dollars or actual currency.

I'd like such a change, but there's already two ways to get an idea on how much "buying power" one piece of your nation's currency has. The first is a third=party calculator like NSEconomy. It gives a bunch of interesting statistics about your nation, including the exchange rate between your nation's currency and the US dollar. Obviously, none of the figures are official, and I'm not sure exactly how it turns the official NS data into the figures it shows, but it's still cool to look at.
The second way is to notice that when you are viewing an unaddressed issue, a picture of your national newspaper is at the top of the page. From that, you can see that your newspaper costs 1 <currency>. Unfortunately, this isn't very realistic, as it doesn't change, no matter how much your nation changes.
These two ways will contradict each other, and it would be nice to get a better idea of how much one piece of your national currency is worth, but you can get some idea by using these methods.
If you claim to be religious but don’t control your tongue, you are fooling yourself, and your religion is worthless. Pure and genuine religion in the sight of God the Father means caring for orphans and widows in their distress and refusing to let the world corrupt you. | Not everyone who calls out to me, ‘Lord! Lord!’ will enter the Kingdom of Heaven. Only those who actually do the will of my Father in heaven will enter. On judgment day many will say to me, ‘Lord! Lord! We prophesied in your name and cast out demons in your name and performed many miracles in your name.’ But I will reply, ‘I never knew you. Get away from me, you who break God’s laws.’
James 1:26-27, Matthew 7:21-23

Perhaps compare it to the price of Gold... Like actual economies.
