If Theodore Roosevelt were alive today

What do you guys think Theodore Roosevelt would be like if he was alive today? Would he be a Democrat or Republican? What would he support? What would he think of the nation? I'd like to know. Personally, I think he'd be a Democrat. I know he at least wouldn't win a Republican Presidential nomination. But what do you guys think our former (and best) President would be like?

He would probably not even belong to a party. He is a man who would have his own opinion on everything and would not let what he believe be dictated by what party he was in.

Nonsense! He'd be as strong as a bull moose, as ever.

As for his party... he'd probably be ticked off with both and try to defib the Progressive movement that was his baby. If not, he'd certainly join with the democrats: as a huge supporters of a strong federal government and the conservation movement (two big Democratic planks), and a distrust of big business kicking around the little guy (Citizens United would likely get him raging, as would be the number of multi-national mergers of huge corporations being allowed.

I have little doubt he'd be glad to see America as a leader on the world stage and with a higher standard of living. He'd probably love his forth cousin's New Programs to bits and fight tooth and nail to stop them from being dismantled/privatized, and favor the move towards a stronger presidency. The 'softening' of American society and people might tick him off though.

However, he couldn't run for President again (we have an amendment for that).

He wouldn't be a Democrat or a Republican- in his mind they'd both be against what he stood for, and more or less existed in his time (Federalism and Anti Federalism have more or less existed since the dawn of America, the names just change). He'd be heading his own Progressive Party leading a political crusade against the corporations of the modern day. Although if he somehow found a way to be immortal and thus been affecting history since WWI, I doubt many large corporations would even still exist were he to have somehow survived.

Corporations/Groups like AIG stand against everything Theodore and his party fought for. His first order of business would be burning those companies to the ground and going on a monopoly killing spree.
