Does your nation have a state religion/established church? If so what is it

Until 1567, Scotland was officially Roman Catholic. Then it was replaced by the presbyterian Church of Scotland (the Kirk) until 1707 when the Scottish monarchy was restored. The Kirk was disestablished and Catholics were given equal rights again, and the state was de facto Secular. In 1790 when the Constitution was written, the state became officially Secular.

Though both the Church of Tolmakia and Protestantism do have a place in Tolmakian society, it serves more of a historical purpose than a functional one. Despite this, the religion is the second-largest next to Christianity, and may be practiced by anyone (but not forced on anyone, as this is against the constitution).

In the year 1490, Roman Catholicism was introduced in the Kingdom of Alpha Solarium by the Portuguese invasion of European imperialism and remained until the year 1800, when imploded "The Solarian Revolution" where all settlers and all the new nobility and Portuguese aristocracy existing on the kingdom and the Catholic Church were expelled. Since the year 1810, the Kingdom of Alpha Solarium is a secular state, but 85% of citizens support or converted by the Church Solarian, which adopts polytheism. The other 15% make up other religions.

There is no national church or clergy, rather it is more of a statement for the government to express its interest in the well-being of the people. Statistically, 67% of the population is atheistic or "spiritual, but not religious". This is the effect of the religious discouragement that occurred while under direct Soviet administration. Since independence, the religious population has been roughly split between the faiths of Sunni Islam and Eastern Orthodoxy. Small Shiite Islamic and Protestant groups make up about 2% of the religious population. Islamic Terriconians are usually found in the South while Christians are found in the North.

We are a secular state, and if anyone suggests a state religion, they are more than welcome to do so, on the condition they must put their "god" through a rigorous screening process to make sure he exists. If any religion fails to provide sufficient evidence of a higher power, they are banned.
