Condemn the region of DEN

I am a relatively new player but on one of my other accounts I have had my region defaced by the region of DEN. Is there anything someone can do about this. I don't believe I have the skills to write a security council resolution (Besides I am not a member of the security council)

EDIT: I also feel it's unfair how these guys are attacking new regions made by inexperienced players. I mean if you want to invade a region then pick on one your own size.

Yeah, it's possible for someone else to write a condemn for you if you provide them good enough bullet points but here's the first question anyone is going to ask:

Why is your nation currently sitting in DEN?

I joined them with the hopes it would allow me to obtain more information about their region. I will under no circumstances participate in their raiding activities.

If anyone else has been victim of one of their raids please pose and support the opposition to DEN.

Well I couldn't just post on the forums without warning you guys first. I think it's important for you guys to be warned prior to action being taken.

I know that a resolution would not disperse the region of DEN but I would like to see the region condemned as a warning to everyone of their unethical actions.

If you want a Condemnation of DEN, then you should really write it yourself. There's plenty of examples of how a condemnation should be written (but don't plagiarize).

Also raiding is not unethical - it's a legal game feature.

I never said I was a spy. I had a region that was defaced some time ago by DEN and figured I would join their region to see if I could glean any information, I couldn't so I moved out of their region. I do not know how to write a resolution as I have only been on nationstates for a little under 2 months. I created this topic with the hopes I could rally other regions that have been taken over by DEN. I also never said that invading a region wasn't a game feature, I completely agree that it's a legal game feature but it is still unethical.

Also, I never said I was going to take down DEN. I just wanted to give it my best shot at getting them condemned and rallying some opposiont

Then you need to draft up a condemnation and allow people here to critique it and/or make it better. Consult some recent commendations and condemnations, bearing in mind the rules, which most people here are quick to point out. You mentioned earlier that you're not in the Security Council. All WA nations are by merit in the Security Council, and you'll need to join it in order to submit a proposal (once the draft looks to be in good shape).

Bear in mind, however, that you're going to need a lot more justification than just "well they invaded my region". The SC is not your personal army. DEN in particular has a rich history, so I suggest consulting others and doing a little bit of research.

Fajskdl, sorry for the theatrical post in reply to your, erm, comments. You had to know we'd respond to the threat of being "taken down" or "brought to justice", and as this version of DEN is a new region with all new troopers, as an adviser I decided to usher a call-to-arms with a bit of theater to add gravitas. We have had many, many, many people threaten us in the past similarly, and usually the tactics of bans, region-overthrow, goading DEN nations into getting deleted, etc. has been the typical route others have taken.

I do apologize for insinuating that your methods would follow that past line of action over the last decade, and that what's past was likely to be prologue with the new generation of NS players...I'll edit my post accordingly

I'm also sorry someone defaced your region. While I can't speak for all raiders, defacing a region isn't something I'd expect a DEN trooper to do. My brothers and sisters in DEN participate in the legal gameplay of raiding, according to our own code of conduct and the game's rules.

As you argue you've been in NS two months, I'm fairly certain that the new DEN had nothing to do with this act of "defacing." First, and as I alluded to above, DEN doesn't deface. It's not our style nor part of our code. We're not vandals. Second and critically, we couldn't have done it since we haven't been an active raiding force for years, and this version only recently started a month ago.

It's more likely possible someone posing as DEN "defaced" your region. We're a bit of an NS legend, and many nations like to pretend to be DEN. You do realize there are many, many active raiding organizations in NS, right besides us? All of these raider groups pose a direct, legitimate and immediate threat to you and any other founderless region right now.

All that said, defacing an RMB is stupid. If your region was "defaced" and wether you have an active founder or not, report it to game moderators.

Lastly, raiders (and defenders who raid but won't admit it), don't attack regions just because they're new and small — they raid because the region has no founder to protect it. As has been stated already by myself and others, raiding and "region crashing" is legal gameplay, and frankly provides a check against regions becoming complacent. NationStates is a geopolitical simulation, and threat and conflict is part of it. We provide that.

So, defacing vandals aside, the best way to avoid raider/defender attention, is to keep a founder alive and in the seat. Failing that, support your DG.

I would never lower myself to the level of taking over DEN or getting nations deleted.

Nah, I was Commended for doing similar. If anything, we should be Commending DEN.
