First! Issue 1- The month of many plot twists

Postby Ikania » Mon Apr 27, 2015 5:18 pm

FIRST! IKE'S GAMEPLAY NEWS OBSERVER- YOUR #1 IMPROMPTU NEWS SERVICES WITHOUT A LOGO
Providing you with breaking news before anyone else- and only if I get it first. Hence the name.

Issue 1: So, that just happened.

For NSGP, April 2015 has been an interesting month, to say the least.

Couploops and Fruitloops, or something along those lines.
Thanks to Hobbes for the name.

Kicking off the month with a bang, we saw trusted Lazarene and PRL loyalist Stujenske completely throw away everything we knew about him and couped Lazarus. Dissolving the PRL and implementing an NPO puppet regime, destroying his reputation in the process, it took two whole weeks or so for him to give the Delegate seat to Kazmr (as he did with Yao before) for the 'New Lazarene Order' propagandist-in-chief to take back the region and restore democratic rule. The new Lazarene government (fixing the flaws of the 'People's Republic') has vowed for greater checks and balances, and nations are currently recommended to endorse Kazmr, former Delegate and Delegate-elect Funkadelia, former Delegate Harmoneia and Courlany- all trusted members of the Lazarene natives.

Speaking of which, Funkadelia's established a radio station. Czech it out. Yes, this is an ad. No, this is not sponsored by Funk. He'll be talking about various things in GP and interviewing some famous faces, as well as keeping the groove alive with funky music. Expect good things to come out of this.

Not a bang
Bang Dick Ow, I'm looking at you.

It was not long before well-known player Milograd, 2013 couper of the year for the South Pacific and first Chairman of the People's Republic of Lazarus, committed the ultimate act of seppuku and got himself Delete on Sight status, a title usually reserved for infamous players like Verbluffen (neo-fascist), Thafoo (still can't remember what he did wrong) and Frak (we'll get to him later). Milograd was one of the most influential and well-known gameplay personalities, and went out not with a bang, but with a retirement thread and purposeful breaking of the rules that deemed him apparently unworthy of any further participation in NationStates.

Another one bites the dust
Events occurring faster than Cormac can switch ideologies

In the past two weeks, Nephmir, founder of the Eternal Knights and creator of the Gameplay Guide we see stickied at the top of the subforum, has been deleted for his cooperation with DOS player Frak. Frak is an infamous forum destroyer and perma-banned player who has been known for his treachery and repeated harassment of GP threads long after his initial ban- including spending over a hundred dollars to conduct a liberation of Lazarus after it was couped, even though the leader of the operation was DOS. Like seriously, who blows a hundred bucks on something that'll probably make no impact anyway? The mods would just reverse it. Nephmir has since retired from NS, bringing an end to another long, well-known, and oft-mocked career.

But wait! There's more!
Lucy in the skyyyyyyyyyyy with diamonds

That's not all. Further treachery was revealed when the Black Riders, the most infamous raiding organization on the site, purged one of their greatest members (though he retired a while ago), Feuer Ritter. The leader of the Riders, General Halcones, explained that Ritter was working with Frak (yes, him again), the infamous forum crasher, DOS player, etc. Turns out that Halcones was an absolute hypocrite, as he was hit with a nation deletion because he was actually the one working with the DOS player. This came hand in hand with the complete wipe of Bob Moran's nations. Bob was another influential member of TBR, and was in charge of recruiting for the Riders as well as the Land of Kings and Emperors, former UIAF member before the organization crumbled. The mods said they are considering a DOS status for Bob, but no final word yet.

What did he do? Well, he not only worked with Frak, but was also using illegal scripts to send out recruitment telegrams for both of the aforementioned organizations at a much higher speed. This was illegal, and paired with his cooperation with Frak, this did not go down well with the mods. Both regions have been hit with a three month recruitment ban, much to LKE's protest seeing as they were completely unaware of Bob's scam.

The Casbah is Rocked
See this dispatch for more.

Taking advantage of the slap in the face to Halcones and Moran, nation UnitedGermanRegions charged into the Black Riders region (now founderless) and swept into the Delegacy on a ride of endorsements, currently lingering at 134. This mission to liberate the much-hated (and again, oft-mocked) region was assisted by the following regions:

The Empire of The Iron Chariots
The Intergalactic Alliance
Leninist Union
Lazarus
Oseria
TaiMil
Greater Ixnay
My Pants
The Atheist Empire
Alliance of Armed Nations
The Union of Communist States
The United Northern Countries
The Great Wonderland
Greater Mercateria
The Caldonian Union
The Truly Holy Roman Union
The North Pacific
Right to Life
Catholic Royal Alliance
Ixnay
Onnet
The Insane Region
Consitutional Union
Taijitu
New Brannack
The Place for Awesome Nations
The Second European Empire
Esportiva
Rushmore
Bettie Page vs Jayne Mansfield Catfight
Union of Confederate Regions
The One Army
10000 Islands
Deneclia
The Place For Awesome Nations
Geopolity
The Supreme Union
The Grey Wardens
Peoples Federation of Qandaristan
Werewolves of the Flame
Valar
New Zealandia
Avadam Inn
The Great Chili
The New Roman Nations
Federation of Free States
Venatria
International Northwestern Union
NZDA
Eos
United Northern Countries
The Knights of Democracy
Holy Rome
Forces of Mordor
Arconian Empire
Akiirik
United Empire of Islam
Atlas

The now-free TBR region has even begun its own constitutional convention, and hopes to become a thriving, defender-oriented community that pisses all over the legacy of the tag raiders. A measly defense was put up by heir presumptive Ridersyl, a cancer survivor and acclaimed raider (respect to him), who barely rose above 30 endos before minor update, losing out to the liberators who had double the strength, with around 60 swordsmen taking up arms for the cause. The organization, with a decade-long track record of tag raids and takeovers, has grinded to a halt as its leadership is wiped out. Will the Black Riders carry on? Under a different name, perhaps? Or will they all accept defeat and leave the astounding legacy of a previously undefeated cavalry?

Probably the former.

This has been the (aptly described) first issue of First! My new newspaper that I'll publish only if I'm able to be the first one to cover this; I hope the other organizations will get to it soon, because I'd hate to have to do their jobs for them/

Pretty crazy month.

I was not aware that Taijitu was a separate entity from the Taijitu Citizens' Militia (New Zealandia and NZDA as well) - and that both assisted in the raid together. Guess you learn something new everyday. ;)

Also, from what I've heard, Gest is now in charge, and some TBR members have fled to Atheist Empire, which appears to be their new base.

There's no point posting if you have no idea what you're talking about, not to mention providing false information. :p

Your source has been oft-cited as wrong, Kaboomlandia. I do think there was even a time a mod told you the same.

Anyway - to Ikania, thanks for posting this up. It forms a coherent picture and a very simple-to-read run through of the events: which is good for everyone given how scandalous this month has been.

I think Thafoo was DOS just because of many rule violations he committed during his time here? Not very sure. I'm more confused as to how Niere got himself DOSed too.

The lead in TBR is the one who said that 10000 Islands was helping out with the raid.

I am aware of that. Still, I wanted to make that clear that it is not true. One nation from XKI participating does not equal the support of the region as a whole.
