Today's opening article: Petrokovian Premier Calls for More Carriers!

Petrokovia currently has 8 Katyusha-Class super-carriers, known for their large size and their numerous weapons systems as well, which are a very rare sight on most aircraft carriers. Premier Daniel Petit of the USSP has recently called in an order for a new, smaller class of aircraft carrier that will hold 45 aircraft, and specialized submersible aircraft carriers that can hold 4 aircraft. While the plans for the latter are still on the drawing board, the former, named the Kuznetsov-Class Carrier, is currently in production.

Article title: Attempted assassionation on Emperor!

Today during a speech from the imperial palace a sniper located in a radio towers attempted to shoot the Emperor Frederik VI of the island nation Sjealand. The shooter was quickly apprehended and is waitng for her trial. No official info has been released but, many believes it is a sign that the recently opened borders to foreign emmisaries is to blame.

So far there has been no reaction from other world leaders or ministers from the imperial cabinet

Civil War Ravages Sjealand!

The decades long conflict between the Royalists/Socialists and the exiled bourgeoisie/capitalists of Sjealand has now erupted into a full scale civil war. 50.000 men landed on the northern island Ebeltoft and has quickly taken control of the island. Uprisings also ravages the larger cities but the Imperial Army has controll of most of the main territory.

The Emperors brother (Govenor of the Northern island Ebeltoft) and his family has been reported as brutally killed in their recidence in the city Aarhus. No official statement from the emperor has been heard be it is suspected he is planning a revenge attack.

It's April 18th! The day that the Petrokovian People's National Militia-technically a branch of the Petrokovian Homeland Defense Force-gives a demonstration in the heart of Krasnograd. The Krasnochaya Oblast Branch of the PPNM is responsible for this demonstration, which shows much of what the militia members are capable of physically, and includes sparring shows. Also, the demonstration serves the purpose of recruitment, and stations are set up on the streets for this purpose. Members must pass a monthly physical exam, which is entirely independent of the annual physical mandatory for all Petrokovian citizens.

Government Announces New Combat Plan for Karamay Insurgency

NEW MOSCOW, Chernarus - This morning the Chernarussian government said that they were implementing a new "combat plan" against the Karamay insurgency currently raging on in the province. The insurgency dates back to the early 2000s, when Karamay separatists, intent on making the Chernarussian province an independent country, rebelled, attacking and seizing weapons and ammunition. Since then, the military has had trouble suppressing the insurgency in part due to logistical issues suffered by the military, as well as the cunning of the insurgents. However, internal military reforms combined with a growing military presence in the province has lead to multiple defeats on behalf of the insurgents.

The insurgency suffered a major defeat in the small city of Adaean where Chernarussian airpower crushed several insurgent strongholds in the city, leading to th fleeing of thousands of insurgent forces in the city. This combined with fierce attacks from Chernarussian forces have lead to the insurgency losing ground, men, and valuable supplies. However, in recent years the attacks have slowed down, with the insurgents managing to stall advancing Chernarussian forces. In light of this, the government has chosen to implement a new "combat plan" designed to suppress the insurgency and end the unrest in Kalamay. It was said by a government spokesman to entail leadership reforms, a shift in military priorities and goals, as well as the bolstering of the forces in Kalamay from around 30,000 men to almost double that size, at 55,000.

The number of insurgents has been totaled at 10,000, but given their experience in guerrilla warfare as well as their fanatical determination they should not be underestimated, says an analyst of the conflict. However, the government is still very confident in the ability for the new plan to succeed. The Karamay insurgency's, another spokesman reported, days are numbered. Only time will tell us whether or not this is the case.

The International Alliance of Island Nations have reached a conclusion and has declared that they are officially supporting the Royalists of Sjealand as the legitimate government. To help support the Royalists, a naval blockade made up of several Exaequation patrol boats, destroyers, and an aircraft carrier as well as two Hesperia Pau Soler-class frigates and six submarines have been dispatched for the operation. The blockade is a part of a larger strategy to combat the capitalist terrorists on the captured northern island and ports cities, while the Sjealand imperial army invades the southern shore.

Yashintekina Shogunate to Aid in Quelling Insurgency in Sjealand

The Shogun of the Yashintekina Shogunate today announced that the small island nation, as a member of the International Alliance or Island Nations and a longstanding diplomatic supporter of Sjealand, that the Yashinese armed forces have been ordered to attempt to quell the "Capitalist" rebellion in latter nation. It has been confirmed that two Shizumeru class frigates are being deployed, and that at least one troop-carrying vessel or aircraft is being readied for departure. Finally, three Chinmoku class diesel-electric submarines have been ordered to accompany the fleet.

This force is intended to help support other IAIN forces in aiding the Royalist faction, who have legitimate rule over the nation of Sjealand, against the "Capitalist" faction that appears, upon official analysis, to be a terrorist organisation, confirmed to have been holding several innocent civilians and diplomatic personnel hostage. Intelligence also suggests that they oppose the relation between Sjealand and the Yashintekina Shogunate. More news will be brought when it has been uncovered.

Imperial Soldiers Advance into Rebel territory!

After months of fighting on the coasts of the main island, The imperial Sjealandian army has now brought the battle to the rebels. 100.000 Imperial Marines landed on the southern shore of the island last night. Reports indicate the the rebels have suffered crushing defeats in the initial battles and may have lost up to 3.000 men.

In addition the IAIN has joined in the war on the royal side, blockading the northern shore and attacking several port cites, while the Nickel Empire has expressed verbal support for the royalists and promised millitary intervention on the Royal side should the Emperor wish it.

Insiders report that the terrorrists hold on the countryside are smoldering, but many of the cities are still strongholds for their cause.

News of the Yashinese hostages have yet to surface and many are scared that they may have been executed for collaborating with the Emperor.

RIOTS IN EIBI!

Today, members of the illegal Hurish People's Democratic Movement, began campaigning against our glorious Monarchy over the new autonomy laws. The laws, nicknamed the Allegiance Laws, removed the privilege of the Hurish peoples right to autonomy and brought their rebellious regions under control of the Baranzini Royal Family's absolute control. It was rumoured that the Royal Family went back on its centuries old promise due to fears that the regions under Hurish control were overtaking Barazini controlled regions in terms of development, with the Hurish regions allowing full suffrage voting, allowed the LGBT community to come out of hiding, due to centuries of persecution, and flourish. The education system has also been the rival of the Barazini system, since the Hurish religion prides knowledge over many things and as such more funds were diverted to the education system which led to the famed Norteti University of the Sciences which has created many famous scientists in the country. This have all been rumoured to have caused the Allegiance Laws as a means to rein in Hurishi development and culture.

The laws haven't been greeted with enthusiasm from the Hurish people, with protests and riots breaking out across the country and anti-monarchy posters being spotted at many of them and with numerous Hurish nationalist groups springing up, the most popular of them bing the Hurish People's Democratic Movement, or the HPDM. The official armed forces of the Hurishi people, the Sepish (in Hurishi it translates to those who face death), have yet to declare their allegiance although speculation has led to many believing they will join the Hurishi groups, most likely as a separate identity. Thankfully no armed insurrection gas erupted yet but the nation is nearing boiling point and it is unclear of how well the Barazini government will handle the situation.

While advancing through rebel territory, the imperial armed forces has uncovered a disturbing secret. 500 Yashinese diplomatic personell was found in an old prison facility. The prison cells where filled with dead or dying Yashinese civillians, including 30 children aged 1-16. Signs of rape, brutal torture and hard excersise suggest a brutal last days for the dead. Of the 500 diplomatic personell and family around 30 have survived, and of them 20 are still in critical condition with Imperial Medics doing all they can to save their lives.

I was driving with my squadron when we saw a faciliy, still flying the rebel flag but with no signs of life. 15 men and I went in to survey the location and the first i remember are two half buried holes in the ground. With arms and legs sticking out, and some people only half buried. 2 of my men threw up and had to leave. But it only got worse when we walked past the mass graves and entered the facility.

There was this stench of dead, excrement and alcohol. Dead bodies littered the hallways, some naked, and some missing parts of their bodies. There was a room labelled play room where dead and living women and girls where tied up naked, with all manners of sex toys lying around them. Dead and dying people shared the cells and we were only able to save around 20 people. The rest we gathered up and put in coffins meant for soldiers. We also tried to dig up as many as possbile, but i still think some are lying somewhere in the woods around it.

Today, Edward Kenway has announced that he will not be sending military support into Sjealand. Edward says that he will only intervene if requested, and wishes the current government luck in their fight against the rebels.

Free Devinasta Returns!

6 years ago, the ACOC government had conquered the nation known as Devinasta, after their government fell silent. Efforts to install a new government failed, and the nation was taken over by ACOC. Now, Free Devinasta has made their 3rd return within the 6 year period. This time, they attacked an oil tanker sailing to the city of Oured. The ship erupted in flames, and tonnes of oil has been spilled into the ocean. Edward Kenway has ordered the mobilization of 4,000 soldiers to go into Old Devinasta, and eliminate the group once and for all.

KARAMAY, Chernarus - The small city of Khabut in the province of Kalamay, which has a Muslim majority and fell to the Kalamay insurgents after weeks of intense firefighting between police and insurgent forces, has been recaptured in a massive counteroffensive which involved some 5,000 troops, as well as armored and aerial elements of both the army and the navy. Over 1,000 insurgent fighters were entrenched to meet the attacking force, but after several hours of fighting their positions were overwhelmed by Chernarussian troops.

Aircraft strafed the retreating forces, and unconfirmed reports have shown that the insurgent force in the city has lost almost half their fighting force, which is a huge blow to the insurgency.

However, the victory at Khabut has only been one of many victories that have recently been scored by the Chernarussian military, whose presence in the province has drastically increased after the new combat plan was implemented last week. Karamay insurgents were repelled from Ninevah, Tilet, Alrad, and Tollo, all of them major insurgent strongholds. With the new combat measures and increased military presence, combined with a weakening insurgent hold over the province, a CPC spokesman has said that these defeats were inevitable.

Yashintekina Shogunate Outraged At Insurgent Atrocities

After the discovery of the many atrocities committed by the "Capitalist" faction of Sjealand, Yashinese citizens are outraged. They demand action Asti at these vile terrorists and a referendum has been passed over the last 48 hours to send reinforcements and deploy a land force, currently estimated to be about 10,000 soldiers strong. The force will not be heavily mobilised or mechanised as it is believed that this will impede movement.

However, several Yukihyo main battles tanks have been spotted heading towards Sjealand on transports, and it has been announced that an additional Chinmoku class diesel-electric submarine in addition to a Tenshi class oceanic missile platform. Finally, a trio of SK-24 Yajirushi jet fighter aircraft have been placed on standby to aid in the conflict.

Protesters fired upon!

Horrific news as it is released that a crowd of peaceful Hurshi protesters were fired upon by HDF guarding the streets. A casualty list of 14 killed and a further 43 injured, it has quickly caused the already tense situation to quickly deteriorate between the Barazini and Hurshi communities. Revenge attacks have taken place across the nation, a number of Barazini civilians have reported being assaulted, spat upon, harassed or had stones thrown at them while carrying out their daily lives. Despite this, neither the Barazini Government or the HPDM are willing to engage in open conflict with each other, but it has been reported that the Sepish have begun training with the HPDM. A decree was issued soon after the tragedy that 'Peace Walls' were to be constructed to divide Hurshi and Barazini communities from each other in an attempt to stop any more violence between them.

Mars Spacecraft Completed! Expected Flight by early 2016!

The National Exploration of Space Agency (NESA) completed its spacecraft for Mars on April 10. The spacecraft has been named Orion and will be taking a five man crew to Mars. When the crew arrives, they will set up an Eco-Dome, a concept which will sustain Orion's crew indefinitely. "This is the single most greatest accomplishment to date." Prime Minister James Wilson stated in his dedication speech for Orion. "It is what make us who we are; explorers." The Eco-dome will be set up and contain various plant life and even some animal species. Some oppose this as there has been four test Eco-Domes, two of which failed. "Failure of the Eco-Dome on Mars will cost Orion's crew their lives." Says noted astrophysicist Dr. Steven Silva. However, if the Eco-Dome is successful, the crew will remain on the red planet for six months before heading back to earth.

Rebels losing more and more ground!!
After months of fighting the coalition has routed the rebels into a few heavily defended enclaves around the major cities.

The Sjealandian Civil war, which has been going on for half a year now, is steadily seeming more and more as a victory for the Royalists. A few enclaves containing the rebels and their supporters are all that is left now, and some people expect victory within the coming months.

The overwhelming support for the royalists, has significantly boosted the morale and fighting power and the rebels have not been able to withstand it.

A bloody siege of the islands capital Aarhus is underway, and the recistance there has proved extremely hard to break, with groups of soldiers defending every square meter to the last man. Even though the majority of the army is besieging the area, the natural defences prove an adequate support to the rebels. That is why a massive bombardment of the are is underway.

Unfortunately the rebels refuse to let the civillians leave the cities, and the soldiers, are so filled with a desire for vengeance, countless civillian lives may be lost, and the northern island faces a humanitarian crisis, due to the civillians having no water, electricity, warmth, food and in many cases no homes due to bombardment.

Petrokovia has announced an official stance regarding the Sjealandian Civil War, in favor of the Royalist government. Petrokovia will be sending 2 Red Army Spetsnaz Infantry Divisions (considered by many as the best ground forces in the world), as the situation at the Sjealandian front lines is currently dire (with many civilians caught in the crosshairs), necessitating the use of special forces to keep collateral damage to a minimum. Petrokovia will also be sending various civilian and medical aid for after-operations relief.

Edward Kenway changes mind!
After a recent protest against remaining neutral in the conflict in Sjealand, Edward Kenway has pledged military support to help the current government finish off the rebels. ACOC will be sending 5 divisions of troops, 1 squadron of aircraft, and 2 tank battalions to Sjealand. The troops will be instructed not to cause collateral damage or civilian casualties unless absolutely necessary.

It has just been reported that a SARS case has been found in the Western Highlands. This is the first case since 2013. There has been three other cases of SARS, 2003, 2006, and 2013. The biggest epidemic was in 2006, where over 105,380 were infected, and 6,323 people died. The government has said all necessary measures have been taken, and that there is no need for panic. The Western Highlands has become notorious for new diseases, including SARS, Ebola, and old ones too, Yellow Plague, White Plague.

Tense stand off in Tikvata!

Today has been one of the closest times in the past six months that the nation came close to dissolving into civil war. All along Main Street in Tikvata lined armed soldiers of the Home Division of the HDF while on the opposite side of the street were members of the HPDM shouting anti-monarchy slogans and pro-democracy chants. It was after thirty minutes of this, gunshots were heard which momentarily caused the crowd to dispersed until it was discovered that it was the HPDM had fired the shots. After the incident, the HPDM admitted that it had a military wing that has been working closely the Sepish to get the volunteers up to military standard training so they can effectively fight against the HDF if war were to break out. This action has been condemned by the Barazini Royal Family although the HDPM replied with 'How can a oppressive regime have any right to condemn an action?'.

Riots in the Nation!
After the governments recent proposal to create the ACOC national Olympic Games, sports fans in the nation was giving the government a standing ovation. Others, however, weren't so pleased. When a hacker broke into the government records, he found the bill for the Olympics. When he then posted it on the internet, thousands of people around the nation were outraged. At first, protests were peaceful. By around 12:30 PM, things made a turn for the worse. People were smashing store windows, and assaulting the peaceful protesters. Riot Police were immediately called in, and at 1:00 PM Sudentor time, the riot police opened fire on the crowd with tear gas.

Victory!!
The Coalition has finally chrushed the final recistance by taking Aarhus and capturing the rebel leaders!!

After hundreds of bloody skirmishes coalition forces has taken the remaining enclaves on Ebeltoft. Celebration erupted all over the vast nation of sjealand, as everyone, rich and poor opened their homes to party and celebrate. The coalition troops were invited into every home, and are currently seen a heroes by the people. It has been rumored that captured rebel tanks have been used by civillians as a way to send out fireworks

The foreign soldiers have been welcomed as heroes and many have found lovers and the local women of the island. Especially the Yashinese have been celebrated due to the tragedies that have befallen their nation, and due to the population generally liking them.

The Petrokovian relief force has been stationed to guard the captured leaders, and the civillian aid force have been sent into the worst areas to help as much as they can, while still being protected, from guerilla attacks.

Also this morning a huge parade has moved through Copenhagen from the Imperial Palace to the area were a monument will be erected for the fallen. The Emperor himself rode in the front flanked by 20 Royal Knights.

While the parade was ongoing lots of shops had huge discounts on different things, and bakers had quickly made all kinds of Victory cakes. I myself watched it all from a cozy restaurent on the main street, enjoying a Carlsberg beer and a big plate of flæskesteg. The aura that came from these people was so astonishing and everyone seemed to lighten up no matter who they were.

Insurgent Terrorists Given Punishment

The Yashintekina Shogunate officially announced the fates of the captured insurgent leaders last night, and they faced their punishment earlier this morning. After careful consideration, the decision was made to punish the insurgent leaders with two license demerit points, a $50 fine, a prohibition from applying to the military for the next two months and execution by firing squad.

The terrorist leaders were lined up for shooting, and the troops that displayed excellence in battle and that whose family had been murdered were selected to carry out the execution. Despite their grudges and grievances, the soldiers shows the utmost discipline. On eterrroysst attempted to escape, and was immediately shot. The highest ranking terrorist is still awaiting brutal execution, as it is still to be decided whether a tank shooting or a volcanic drop execution is preferable. The prisoner is detained and heavily guarded. Any attempt to escape will result on his death.

The remaining prisoners, captured in the war, are being handed over to Sjealand as a token of goodwill and to ensure adequate and appropriate punishment is delivered. If Sjealand refuses, they will be interrogated, and those that refuse detained indefinitely and potentially executed.
