Introduction
Over the last few months nothing has been heard from the peoples of Enfaru, rumours of their complete and total annilhilation were apparently backed up by a series of satellite imagery from news stations around the Sovereign Charter. Travel too and from were previously blockaded by an impenetrable barrier constructed from a past technologically advanced civilisation but since its and collapse and the silence of Enfaru travel has been heavily restricted to that part of the world, not least because of the remaining electro-magnetic disturbances that have yet to completely dissipate.

Fast forward a few months and somewhere to the west of Iryllia something was spotted by a patrolling coastguard floating in the water barely clutching what appeared to be a half deflated and half submerged emergency life raft a young woman. Her clothing in tatters, cuts, scrapes, bite marks and other lacerations littered her body. The life raft was an emergency life raft from the ENV Lucrecia, a faded emblem upon its bow confirmed that it was Enfarian in design. Were the Enfarians still alive? Why had they not made contact? While the woman was not in any condition to answer those questions once brought ashore it didn't take long for those questions to be asked in News Stations all over the Sovereign Charter.

Once recovered, upon trying to get home the young woman tried to convince the governments to permit travel only to be told that there was nothing that could be done and she would be able to go back once they had made sure it was safe...when they got round to checking. Promising that there were archaelogical treasures just waiting to be found and tails of technology that could manipulate time the young woman was eventually laughed out of the office to try and barter her own way back. There would be no help from a governing body for her it seemed. Yet the allure of being the first to find out what had happened to Enfaru, the tales of the Enfarian's had developed piqued the curiosity of more than a couple academics and bounty hunters. After all, if what she said was true even against all the overwhelming evidence then the payout would be huge. Who but a fool would challenge the weight of the evidence that there was simply nothing left.

Character Sheet
Contrary to my usual style I will not be asking for anything severe, only that the characters are fleshed out. Only the best applications will be approved to become characters and that's purely my decision. Character Sheets can be submitted in two ways, either directly, by putting them into a post or by linking to a dispatch. Unfortunately I cannot accept offsite character sheets. I will ask that minimal data be included and I will suggest a basic style for you to abide by. If you can make it look or read better then that is your perogative. Adding and arranging images may help your application.

Remember you can add extra information. Think about what kind of roles your character likes to play. What would they be good at doing.

Character Sheet Guide
Character Name: - This is where you should enter the full name of the character you wish to play, including middle names, given names and so on.
Age: - This is the age in Earth years, or their ''apparent'' age, if their apparent age is different from their actual age, include their actual age in brackets eg. Age: 18 (34)
Species: - The Sovereign Charter allows multiple species, so your character does not necessarily have to be human. Elves, halflings, orcs are all example species that could be used.
Race: - You could call this a 'sub species', but it reflects shared customs and traits not necessarily just physical. So you could be a High Elf, or Drow Elf for instance, they are both still Elves in species.

Hair: - Include a short description about their hair, length, colour, style, what about facial hair?
Eyes: - Colour and general shape would be a nice touch
Height: - Preferably in metres, include imperial in brackets if you wish.
Weight: - Preferably in kilograms, include imperial in brackets if you wish.
Clothing: - Include what they will be wearing, you can include more than one outfit if you like. Pictures a bonus.

Biography: - Three paragraphs should be enough but as long as it's exciting and interesting to read longer is fine. Include when they were born, who to, place growing up and keypoints but don't expand. In the second section include key things that they have learned and perhaps details about where they learned them. In the final section detail what they have been doing with their lives over the past six months. Pictures get bonus points as usual. Try to summarize points if it gets over three paragraphs so that those who want to skim are able to.

Strengths: - Characters have their own strengths or things that they excel at or are better at doing than anything else, not necessarily that they're any good. Add a few basic strengths in the Mental and Physical categories.
Weaknesses: - Everyone not just characters have weaknesses, things that they perform extremely bad at, even if it's their own perception. Add both physical and mental weaknesses, take a look at strengths to get a good idea of where to start. A very muscular character might be physically very slow and they might have poor hand-eye coordination.

Biography
Yule grew up in Fujla (Fir z'lah), Enfaru a small village located in the south of Espa, two a pair of manual laborers, her mother a Gardner, her father a Tanner. Part of an unusually large family, Yule was the third born out of three girls and two boys, with one older brother and an older sister. Her schooling was primarily state funded schooling.

Yule became disenchanted with the schooling system around the age of twelve and instead began to roam through the forests of Enfaru picking various herbs and plants to bring home. She lost the ability to read anything but her own unique language around the age of fourteen although she can converse quite happily with people face to face. This landed her in very hot water with her family as the state school system had written a series of letters about her ability to read and write. Unable to cope with the stress that her family was beginning to put on her, she ran away to live with her uncle a noted hunter who was surprised to find her on his cabin doorstep.

Lately Yule has become a huntress in her own right, helping to run the local establishment that keeps wild animals under control and that they don't wander too far from the forests. Her expertise however lies within guiding people through the forests and she has taken special interest in studying geology and how Enfarian development is shaping the forests. She has submitted a verbal dissertation to the Aeru Island Imperial University and received an honourary degree for her troubles.

Strengths: Fast-runner, good tumbler, finding plants and animals, can work independently for long periods of time.
Weaknesses: Reading, not very strong, finds puzzles difficult, gets distracted easily, gets agitated around crowds of people and liable to lash out.

Rules & Guidance
  • As a rule of thumb keep posting down to one a day. If you are in close proximity to someone else and are having a conversation then feel free to post more. Don't try to progress the situation on your own. You can also post more than once a day if every other player has posted between your last post and when you would like to post again. Give people a chance to respond and that generally means everyone not just the Game Master
  • The Game Master will be playing a character, but they won't be the lead character and don't expect them to give you information.
  • You are the protagonist of the story, not the Game Master and not the antagonist please keep this in mind while posting. Some role-players like to create friction and pose themselves as an enemy, this doesn't go down well. If you want to do something like this, clue the Game Master in before hand and get their permission.
  • There will only be 5 playable characters. If you no longer wish to take part, don't have the time to keep up, be up front about it. You can be written out and someone else who does want to post written in. If you can't keep up and you've missed three or four days, don't be surprised to find your character written out.
  • The Game Master will do everything in their power to make the story fun and enjoyable. If you have a problem with that they are doing. Take it to Telegrams.
  • Don't create NPC's or Environments without consulting Game Master
  • If you want to do something that might hurt another character Ask or get the consent of the other player. Work out you are trying to do and work with the other writer to achieve that conclusion.
  • If in doubt. Ask.

The gist of the idea is to write a good story, not to win. If you genuinely wish to take part and write a good story, you will be welcome. Everyone will be welcome to observe the role-play, but only six people, the Game Master and the 5 Protagonists will be allowed to play.

Comments and constructive criticism are welcome. Criticism without being constructive will be removed.

Biography
Gavriil Lochlain was born to a common family outside the capital city of Agrell in the year 1981, and was a relatively unremarkable child for much of the first half of his formative years. However, during the hunt for the internationally-wanted terrorist and former warlord of Sevren, Molotch Rainer, his parents were killed in the Bombing of Testor Harbor by forces loyal to Rainer, leaving him an orphan at 14 years of age. Unable to assist in the hunt for and eventual killing of Rainer two weeks later by soldiers from the Paratrooper Corps and determined to help prevent such tragedies from being inflicted on other perople, Lochlain joined the military as soon as he was eligible, joining the Office of Special Intelligence as an operative. His talents soon captured the interest of Captain Savaro Mudikov of the Chargrenite Royal Guard, who arranged for his transfer to the Royal Guard after watching him in action several times. Lochlain quickly rose up the ranks and eventually became one of the personal operatives of Queen Katida Falko herself, serving with great distinction in many assignments across the world, specializing in both intelligence gathering and, when necessary, direct action against specific targets, usually high-level targets that would be too costly or dangerous to send regular special forces after. Lochlain , however, has remained almost entirely anonymous despite his personal rapport with the queen herself, never revealing himself to the public at large in order to maintain his effectiveness as an operative.

He has been most recently sent almost directly from his assignment in Abraxia, where he was acting as an early infiltrator for an international peacekeeping intervention alongside several OSI operatives, to apply for the expedition to Enfaru in order to assess the situation there and, if possible, obtain some of the advanced technology which may be lost somewhere in the ruins of the nation.


Gavriil Cadmius was born to a small merchant family in 1981 in the city of Mayr, and had a relatively normal childhood. Upon turning 17, and having completed his mandatory year of military service, he took to the seas, working as a mechanic and servicer for most anything that needed it on the various ships he worked on over the years. Over his years of travels, he learned not only mechanical skills, but also picked up the hand-to-hand fighting style of many Chargrenite sailors, Sakeran, a martial art that is designed to be useful in the cramped conditions in a ship.

After several years of traveling the world, Cadmius eventually struck out on his own as a salvager and wandering mechanic-for-hire, moving through regions devastated by war, natural disasters, or other catastrophes, working to salvage what can be saved from the wreckage and offering his services to those in the area. He has worked with many characters, on both sides of the law, and is completely comfortable in the kinds of conditions that would cause even hardened mercenaries to turn back.

Most recently, Cadmius has been operating in the hinterlands of Abraxia following the devastating civil war that swept through the region, working mostly in and around the war-torn principality of Fengrir. He has been working mostly for a small regional warlord in the area, keeping his forces supplied with ammunition and food, as well as keeping their trucks and other vehicles in working order. However, seeing the war returning to the region and having heard about a possible job opportunity in the ruins of Enfaru, he has decided to move on, applying for a position in the expedition being gathered to venture into Enfaru to see if there are any survivors, or anything left intact that is worth taking.

Strengths:Cadmius is an expert technician, notable not particularly for his skills as an engineer, but for his ability to jury-rig almost anything back into an at least semi-working capacity. He has excellent reflexes and is very fast, putting both to use with his mastery of the martial art style Sakeran, which emphasizes rapid counterattacks against an enemy, preferably using a knife or other small hand weapon, and focuses its efforts into neutralizing the opponent as quickly and totally as possible, encouraging sneak attacks, cheap-shots, and fighting as dirty as possible to win. He is also a very adept shot with his pistol, a modified SIG Sauer P226, which he counts as one of his most treasured possessions, and can use a rife with an ease born of extensive, very personal knowledge of its usage and capabilities.

Weaknesses:While Cadmius is very fast and has excellent reflexes, he lacks raw, overwhelming physical power, being of only average strength, which forces him to rely on tricks and tactics to overcome obstacles that would otherwise require physical strength he does not possess. He is also a bit of a loner, which can lead to him being viewed as a somewhat untrustworthy character, and often leads him to operating only on the fringes of whatever group he is working for at the time.

Biography
Dr. Escalante was born in Tenexpa the largest city in the province of Islas Tortugas on 8 March 1979. Born to fisherman and a seamstress, she is the eldest of three children. She attended public school where her teachers noticed she was a gifted child. She was encouraged to attend school in the city of Kiyoshi on the neighboring island. However, her parents could not afford the expenses of the private academy she wanted to attend. She did not want to give up on her studies so she started selling sculptures made of sea shells to tourists and saved enough money for a semester at Visage Academy. Upon arrival she became one of the top students and received a full scholarship to continue her studies.

She graduated in the top percent of her class and received a full scholarship to Soirée University were she studied marine biology. As an undergraduate she joined the school archery team. She led the team to win the Provincial Championship and maintained practicing archery for the rest of her college life. She soon fell in love with a new subject however, and turned her focus to physics. She was thrilled to learn how the universe worked and the many things which could be created if one applied this knowledge. She graduated from Soirée University with a B.S. in Physics acquired a Masters degree at the University of Theed in the field of Electrodynamics. She developed the nation's first Maglev system for Los Yoshis which created a revolution in public transportation. She was invited by Ikari University, the most prestigious university in the nation, to work on her doctorate. While working at the university, she found a way to harness Plasma as a clean source of energy. The discovery led her to become one of the most well known scientists and earned her a PhD.

She is currently the head of the Physics Department at Ikari University where she conducts her research. She was researching a way to transport matter instantaneously from one point to another when she heard of the Enfaru survivor. While the other scientists brushed off the survivor's statements as nonsense, Dr. Escalante became extremely interested in the possible technology which could alter time. Such technology could be of great importance to the nation and she wanted to be the first one to experiment with it. She would do everything she could to travel to Enfaru and learn of the mysterious technology. She appealed to the University of Ikari to submit a request to the Azalean Department of State to allow her to join the expedition.

Strengths: Ambitious, vast knowledge in electrodynamics, archery skills, strong willed, enthusiastic, open-minded
Weaknesses: loses track of time, physically weak, tunnel visions, keeps to herself most of the time

Biography
Josef was born on March 17, 1987, into one of Creedo's 10 remaining nomadic tribes, the Nazca tribe, under the shadows of Creedo's largest mountain, Mount Osai. Born during the final years of the Creedoan Nomad Wars between the 10 Nomadic Tribes and the 5 Cities, the first part of his life was filled with fear and anger. His father, Nhilas, was one of the Nazca's greatest warriors, while his mother, Syna, was a healer, both would be taken from him when he was only 8 years old during the battle of Seiko City. Learning of his parents death galvanized him, and he swore he would not let them die in vain. For the next 8 years, he trained his body and mind under the watchful gaze of his entire tribe; at the age of 10 he received his full Nazca name, which he would only reveal to those he deems worthy of his loyalty, to everyone else he was simply Josef of the Nazca. At the age of 16, he was accepted into the elite fighting force that spanned the 10 nomadic tribes of Creedo, the Sand Dancers, where he spent the remaining days of the war, eventually mastering their signature fighting style which emphasized deception and brutality, perfectly representing the desert they fought for.

At the age of 20, the Creedoan Nomad Wars ended with the signing of the Nomadic Conclave Treaty, which led to the founding of the Sage's Council and the Creedoan Nation. Josef spent the next 5 years of his life as a nomadic trader for the five Creedoan Cities, but still harbored resentment towards them for the loss of his parents and the losses his own people recieved. This resentment would lead him to lash out at the cities: attacking trade caravans and city dwellers alike, even going so far as to killing several members of their respective police forces, his skills learned from the Sand Dancers allowed him to do this without getting caught, but his tribe always knew what he had been doing, and saw he needed guidance. His tribal elders sent him on a journey to his birthplace of Mount Osai, where he was to meet with the 15 Sages of Life-force in order to commune with the spirit of the land. Upon reaching them, he was led deep into the caverns of Mount Osai and met the living embodiment of the desert; this meeting led Josef to defeat his inner rage, made real by the power of the land, but he could still not forgive those that killed his parents. Knowing this, he decided to leave Creedo for a time, to see the rest of the world and gain perspective on his life and the anger he held, as well as learning to commune with the lands beyond Creedo's borders. Before leaving his tribe he was given a parting gift, his mothers old fighting stave imbued with her life energy, to help protect him and guide him on his journey.

Josef has spent the last 3 years wandering the various nations of the Sovereign Charter, constantly moving, constantly learning, all the while letting his mothers stave guide him in journey. Fearing his new found solitude, he sought contracts with various trade companies which provided him with both constant company, and means of travel. His most recent contract found himself in Iryllia, picking up trade work for the Iryllians after the dissolution of the IWNA following the fall of the West-North American Nation. It was here in Iryllia he learned of what had been happening in Enfaru, and was deeply affected by the footage showing the destruction of the nation. After learning of the young women who had been found floating off the coast of Iryllia, and of her proposed expedition, he decided to apply for a position in the slowly growing company so that he may walk the ruined land and attempt to commune with it's own spirits to learn the truth which everyone seemed to overlook; whatexactly happened to Enfaru.

Strengths: Physically strong and imposing yet also very agile for his size, Josef excels in close quarters combat through the use of "Sand Dancing" while using his fighting stave, which he treasures more then anything, he also has some skill with firearms and has rudimentary knowledge of firearm cleaning and maintenance. For those that Josef allows to know his full name, he shows incredible loyalty towards them, treating them something akin to family, and will defend them with his life if possible. Josef also has the ability to commune with the Spirits of the Earth, living embodiments of the land of which each nation has at least one, and ask them for guidance if they still live; whether they will answer or not is up to them.
Weaknesses: While not stupid and able to read and write fluently, Josef has had no formal schooling, and as such he finds higher math and the understanding of technology beyond his comprehension. Josef's loyal nature also leads him to blindly defend the honor of this family or friends, despite any overwhelming odds against him(strangely enough, he allows himself to be insulted... to a point). Josef also suffers from moderate claustrophobia, finding being in tightly enclosed spaces highly distressing and always looking for a way to avoid them if possible.

Biography
Growing up in a city in Eastern Iryllia, and spending her summers of in the woods to the north, she was a small sheltered girl. As with most families her Father was lost in military service, Reina however, achieving actual decent grades, which is impressive considering the state of the Iryllian school system. Escaped military service to pursue an "academic" career. In reality this would lead her to either an unfortunate accident or indoctrination into one of the various R&D divisions.

Reina remains blissfully innocent to her eventual fate, pursuing a career down archaeology and history. Remaining relativity inconspicuous as an assistant to a variety of notable names (which have since been removed) across some significant discoveries. The uncovering of The Library to name one. And now, a promise to gain entry to the relative treasure trove that is Enfaru, is an opportunity this little girl can not resist.

Strengths: Reina is very small, able to fit into very small and tight spaces, she is also very inconspicuous. An unerring ability to blend into the background unnoticed. Having studied for several years on the history of the planet and its civilizations and a semi-skilled archaeologist to boot.

Weaknesses: Being small, she's not very strong. She tends to be frightened easily and lacks any significant courage. She's just a student after all really. Also she isn't that tall. making it hard to reach things higher up. She's never held a gun in her life.

I will now begin discussions with each of the characters to ascertain the primary details and hopefully begin the in-character role-play.

Character Name:Nickel Age:13 (All Cherubims, as it stands, are quite young, but act and appear as adults.) Species:Robotic AI Race:Cherubim
Appearance
Skin:Painted black (unlike in the photo). Hair:Black artificial handlebar moustache. Eyes:Glowing red. Height: Roughly 2.07 meters tall. Weight:175 KG.
Clothing:Cherubim, possessing no reproductive organs to cover, have no need to dress. Although, he does war a tacky leather jacket. A large leather belt runs around his waist. Resting in the belt is a stubnose revolver on one side and a short metal staff in the other. The staff consists of a metal tube leading up to a large ball of steel at the top, a circular metal ring squeezes against the ball.
Biography
Nickel was one of the first twenty Cherubim created, only one remains older than he. Every Cherubim at the time was extremly curious in eachother or how they were made. They had been told the stories of their father, Prof. Cherub, aswell as their wicked mother of unknown name. Prof. Cherub was always around to answer the questions of his children. One Cherubim, Nickel Goldbloom, had no interest in their father though, and insisted on seeing his mother. Eventually Prof. Cherub gave in and had this curious machine taken to his mother, Special Agent. [Redacted]. As they spoke, Agent. [Redacted] began to fill Nickel's mind full of lies, warped his way of thinking. When Agent. [Redacted] told Nickel to "find Directive 84" the guards quickly escorted Nickel from the building.

Nickel was released from government care much like the other Cherubim. He spent his early years trying to decifer what his human mother had said. One day while digging through his own coding, he found it. Directive 84: ███████████████████████████████████████████████████████

This revealed to him the truth of his creation, and he was appaled. He hacked into the New Constantinople PD Surveilance System, shut it down, and stole whatever weapons he could get his hands on. He went underground for years, preparing himself. Until the day he unactivated his Safety feature, turning his eyes red for good, giving him the will to kill.

Nickel despised his older brothers. Feeling they would make a suitable target, he hunted them one by one. Killing all Cherubim older than he, but one. Tina Coppermire, he was prepared to kill her. He was standing infront of her with his shotgun aimed. He couldn't shoot her, for reasons unknown. As Tina puts it, "I fell on my knees and cried, he looked at me with such anger at first. But after listening to my pleas for a whole minute he turned away and left." Along his manhunt he stole a State-Of-The-Art magical artifact, capable of dispersing all elements of magic upon activation, from a Dr. [Redacted]. Nickel has kept this close to him at all times, choosing this artifact over his weapons time and time again. Feeling that Aersquire was becoming unsafe for him, he heard of the lands of Enfaru, perhaps some technology there he could add to his now lacking arsenal.
Strengths: Possesses an Anti-Magic generator, tall and steadfast, short range marksman, no need to eat (powered mostly by the solar panels built into his skin), highly intelegent, his punches would most certainly hurt more than a punch from a soft human hand.
Weaknesses: Is large, somewhat slow, heavy, requires a steady amount of electricity (his solar panels wouldn't be enough to power him on long cloudy days), cannot swim, tries to avoid anything that could crawl into his skin such as bugs.

Hair: - Bald, with black well trimmed goatee
Eyes: - Colour and general shape would be a nice touch
Height: - 1.9 meters
Weight: - 115kg
Clothing: - Hat- a brown yak wool beanie, and black sunglasses
Body - A black yak wool sweater with hood, and for wind a black gortex windbreaker
Pants- A black thermal for cold + cargo, temperate, brown cargo pants, a pair of yak wool pants for emergency
Shoes- Ultralight Hiking Shoes, and yak wool socks
Carriers a medium sized backpack filled with clothes and essentials at all times

Biography: - Life was not easy growing up poor near Eol-Eum Bangpae. His father abandoned him and his mother shortly after birth, and his mother died when he was 5 from a cave in. Growing up alone on the streets was not exactly condusive to a easy childhood. He had to steal food from vendors, and had to sleep in caves and crevices. Anything he had, he stole, and as a result is very crafty and innovative. He soon caught the attention of the cities police force, after he stole a high ranking members food, and escaped. When they finally did catch him, the man rather than punish him, decided to pull him from being a street urchin and took him into his home. He taught him more proper survival, and even evasion techniques. He also taught marksmanship and enrolled him in school. However at 16 the officer too was shot by organized crime scarring Kyun-Hi tremendously. Post the funeral he saw that there was no one left for him, and decided to leave the dark city and chart his own paths. He began his journey above ground in the ice lands. For many days and nights he truched south, hoping to maybe find a warm meal. He by stroke of fortune found a yak herd path and within short time some herders. They took him in, taught him some valuable skills, and even legitimized him as a son. However, with time, he grew bored of the herding lifestyle and one night while at the southern trail, he leaves with nothing but the clothes they gave him and a yak. He wandered south, till eventually arriving at a small coastal village. He had never fished before, however if he was going to prosper, he had to learn. That morning before the fisherman arrived, he tied his yak, and headed to the docks looking for anyone to hire him. Luck was on his side, and an old man hired him to do the heavy lifting for the day, as he no longer could. Within two years time, the man came to view him as the successor to his boat and life, however the Kyun-Hi viewed the man as nothing more than a meal ticket. The two ended their relationship when he snuck on to the boat with his yak, a bag he bought and some fishing supplies. At the crack of dawn, he left a note on the docks, and sailed off. For months he just roamed around, following the mans maps and pulling fish. This a solitary explorers lifestyle is what suited him, and this travel eventually led him to landing on Enfaru.

Strengths: - survival skills, innovative, persistent
Weaknesses: - Anti-social, not formally educated, lone wolf.

Yep. Iryllia is being stubborn and unless they start posting will be removed before the start of the fourth round. Not a big deal as I think 9 days of leniency is adequate. Cervidas and Ibex is an adept role-player and usually regular but getting them started in the first place can be a challenge. Lichi Bando probably hasn't found the time to post yet. I've TG'd all though ^-^.

Continue on and write them in later :3. There's no guarantee that they'll start posting (but we can hope). There's an open spot in case someone wants to hop in later anyway.

Making decisions

Choices

There will be a lot of them that I will make and some that will arise because of the situation. Some will affect the storyline more greatly than others. One example of a choice for your characters to make is this one.

The choices are quite clear. Forsake "Brel" and opt for this new guide or decline the services of the new guide and opt for the services of Brel. It will be your character's choice to make (preferably in Round 5 but hey) and one route will be vastly different from the next.

Edit:

I may have misinterpreted Lichi Bando's post, in which case the choice may not exist and everyone should be aware that choices may arise in the future. I'll make sure to post here.

Just waiting on Lichi Bando to make their entry. Once they have posted if you would like to continue the conversation you're welcome to reply at will. Once the conversation has ended or players begin to move towards the exit of the Sea Shanty then we'll move on to Round 6.

You might also want to start thinking about describing the things you have with you or obtaining supplies.

Posting quantity seems to have dropped a bit though. I think we should consider bumping up the amount if we can keep the quality.
