THE REPUBLIC OF IBERIA

1939
After a vicious civil war Iberia is divided. The Royalists and the Republicans. The Royalists had made new alliances. The Republic of Iberia wished any ally it could find. Any nation that would support a leftist country would be an ally. The Karelian Free State was a primary candidate.
The government consisted of a coalition between the Popular Front,the Communist Party,POUM and CNT/FAI. Manuel Azaña was the Head of State with many representatives of POUM,Popular Front and CNT/FAI being Heads of Government in different parts of the Republic.The people wished to stay out of a potential future war which would harm the Republic. N. Iberia was a rival but the government would respect the public opinion and would try to have negotiations with N. Iberia.
The people were in favour of the government and in some areas with the Anarchist movement most active semi-direct democracy was practised. Laws were reformed in order to improve equality,justice and reduce the influence of capitalism. The army had been entirely changed with any member of it being in support of Franco or the king been dishonorably discharged.
Pictures of Franco or the king were burnt as the people were strongly against the oppressors who had made them suffer so much. Most people were atheists with a quite small percentage being Christians and Muslims. The influence of the Catholic Church was strongly diminished with many churches being closed and their property being seized by the people.
Many leftists who were dissatisfied by the rest of the world and who fought in the Civil War were welcomed and were now citizens of the Republic. Famous Leftists included George Orwell,Ernest Hemingway and many more.
Fascism was a threat to not only Europe but the world. The Republic of Iberia stood strongly against it.

Al Dimaq' Mum Al'Rbiye Alkuns (The Pan-Arabic Congress of Damas)

The 10th Pan-Arabic Congress was created as a proof of the syrian's hegemony in the levant and it's role as a "leader" of all arabic country and completly fullfilled this goals.
This event was held during the whole month of December 1939.

A lot of things were talked about; politic,wars,trade,etc; but the course of the discussion was planned by Al-Zaim to avoid some subjects and concentrate on others; Syrian's recents "liberations" were heartily applaused and Arabia misbehavior shamed.
The discussion of an appropriate punishment to it's misbehavior as well as what term of peace to propose took most of the first day of the congress.
It was finally decide according to Al-Zaim's wants. Arabia had to secede the states it annexed, accord war indemnity to the Pan-Arabic Confederation as well as oil concession. In exchange of that, and, because it was now a baa'thist country; a seat in the Confederation as brother and not as a Satrapi was proposed to Arabia.

In the second day, U.K's envoy and only westerner allowed in the Conference, Churchill, eventually arrived.
He was gladly welcomed by all the arabs diplomat and especially by Al-Zaim; a lot of speech were held to express how close were now the ties between the two "empires" and how much they supported each others. It was also the occasion to discuss a lot about trade and military orders; Syria commanded to britain 400 planes of differents models.

The Argentinian Congress was under heated debate. President Ortiz had proposed to declare war on Australia due to belligerence and to help get the Falklands back from the British. An Argentinian Congressman moved towards the center of the room and the room silenced immediately. He said,"Hello my name is Emiliano Narvaez. I come from full spanish descent from early settlers. I believe that declaring war on Australia is necessary. It will show our power, help our ties with the United Kingdom, and other nations in general." Soon after, a famous Congressman walked up to the front of the room. "Hello my name is Oliver Mann. I come from German descent. I can not stop us from attacking Australia but I say we attack the real enemy, Britain. I say we shall support Germany in this war. Also, I believe that we should become more Facist. Here I propose this new reform:

Reformation Act of 1940
1. Argentina may continue war on Australia
2. Argentina will declare war on Britain
3. Argentina will embargo the United States of America
4. Argentina will reform to a Facist government.

Then a shout could be heard from the Congress. A Congressman began to say,"You all are insane, war will get us nowhere. We should use peace and negotiation. Save our military for a dire time. Let us maintain neutrality."

A few days later the Congress had fully decided. Argentina would soon declare war on Australia, and hope to please Britian to get the Falklands back.

Important reforms were happening across the country from economy to education and the military. Conservative policies were replaced by progressive ones and the people cheered the new government. Manuel Azaña made an imporant speech in the Republic's capital,Madrid:

Roberto Maria Ortiz boarded his ship that would take him to Riyadh. He would also have a destroyer guarding his ship. He was curious what they would discuss during the meeting. He began to place things in his room and recited basic words and phrases in arabic. He watched the other warships load with ammunition and supplies. He wondered if he had made a good choice in declaring war on Australia. The boat soon began to move and Ortiz was on his way to Riyadh.

It is early January. A tired Mussolini sits in his office wit his cat, he thinks to himself;

"Ugh. I have not slept *looks at his office grandfather clock* eighteen hours. What troubles be? My new Rome is strong, and growing, but what could be so troubling as to deny me sleep? Have I enemies at my doorstep? Have I unforeseen qualms? I know not. Could it be England, France? No, the upstart Hitler, maybe. Stalin, he is troublesome too."

Mussolini drank from his glass, tea suited his pallet tonight.

"Could Spain be the reason for my worry? Or is it my colonies? I will have to look into these things, I think. I will have to remain keen, Rome needs me, and I will not let anything get the better of me."

(A small description of 1939 for Italy)

Things were well; the people were busy and proud. Italians worked their fields and toiled in the factories. Artisans crafted their arts, ordained by the state. Veterans and young soldiers alike basked in the future and past glories won by Italy.

Even the colonies were prospering. Railroads were laid, from Asmara to Addis Ababa, to Mogadishu. Eritreans, the most loyal of the colonial peoples basked in the advancement of their lands. Futurism was boldly embraced in Asmara, the lack of building restrictions allowed for truly artistic and unique buildings to rise. Asmara was dubbed; Little Rome. Lads of the Ascari and the Dubats marched in step to victory music, the men in Abyssinia still relished in their victory.

In Libya, a great highway was under construction, It was to spread from Tripoli to Tobruch, local lads worked hard on the project. Supervised by expert engineers from Rome, they worked for pay and free admittance to Italian universities. A number of new settlements were created by order of the governor of Libya, some rather rich land was going unused.

Several prominent officers from the Ascari were sent to Rome to attend Universities that focused on warfare. Hamid Idris Awate, an Eritrean leader, was promoted to Generale di Corpo d'Armata(Lieutenant General), he was to lead the majority of his Ascari comrades, along with a few Italian support brigades.

Italian soldiers, Colonial soldiers, Blackshirts, and factory workers march in step. A great victory parade commemorating the victory over Abyssinia, and the development of the Empire. Workers from Eritrea were brought to Rome to march in celebration of the opening of the 3,000 factory in Eritrea. Along with all of these brave youngsters, equipment is being shown. Overhead, 150 SM. 79's and 300 CR.42's block out the sun(figuratively) L3/35's and M11/39's rumble in the streets. Paratroopers proudly show off their state of the art equipment. Lads, ages 10-13, march in the rear, proudly mimicking the professionals of Italy. Camera's rolling, everything is recorded.

Coast of Sicily

The Roma is leading a naval combat group in exorcises. Along with naval planes and the coastal defense units of Southern Italy, they practice countermeasures to blockade. A Ca.313 flying overhead, records the ordeal.

Orders:

Another 300,000 men were ordered into the military. Drawing from the unemployed, the lads were rather pleased to have work, but were weary of combat. In roughly 8 months they will be combat ready.

Al-Zaim heard of the Arabian's Mecca congress in the morning and it almost took the whole afternoon to calm himself, and, after a long time of thinking; he finally called for his generals.
When those entered in the office; they thought for a second that a murder happened here; the desk was throwed away, the windows and paints smashed, the books spilled all over the floor; but it was just the result of Al-Zaim wroth. Not knowing what to do exactly; they waited akwardly at the doorstep when he yelled at them; ordering them to come to the petit salon. Here; a map full of doodle and on which were placed little pawns has been threw on a table, Al-Zaim staring ardently at it.
"So; he sayed; I guess you have heard what these sonofbitch want to do?" The three men stared at each other, fearing to say anything to Al-Zaim whose wrath was still palpable when Selu arrived at last in the office "They're holding the same exact congress we're holding, spitting on the face of the Arabic's cause and trying to gather ally against us."

Al-Zaim nodded lightly than continued: "We gave them a chance after their revolution; we even stopped the raids at the borders; but this... This... This is shameful. Al-Zaim was starting to fluster again; he took a long breath then started to talk again "They tried to mock us with this parody of what we fighted to create; but they forgot who they were. So; we will remind them of the difference between them and us.

He stared at his generals for a moment or two then put his finger on differents parts of the maps.

One of the sons of the Sultan was part of the Baa'th and he's now here to attend the conference. So; I thought that we may just deny the Arabian's governement legitimity and crown him as his father successor by giving him the vacant arabian seat here; in the conference.
This way; both the Arabian conservators and baa'thist'll be happy and the over-throw of this foolish government'll only be a matter of time because the population'll support us rather than them.

The men smiled and expressed their joy; loudly they yelled the Baa'thist slogan "Liberty! Unity! Socialism!" before going apart each thinking of his assignement.

In the meantime, one hour earlier, 50000 Peruvian troops crossed the Bolivian border into Argentina. While allowing passage of Peruvian forces and supplies though Bolivian territory, the Bolivian government has said they will not participate directly in any invasion of Argentina.

In the meantime, the first rays of sun have broken through the mountains that overlook the 2000 meter high Humahuaca pass. At this point we can see a large Peruvian flag waving on top of some ancient Inca ruins. Next to the ruins, we see a large column of Peruvian troops marching South toward the heartland of Argentina has the band plays a military march. Has each soldier passes in front of the ruins with the large flag waving on top, they salute the flag., One soldier is even heard saying, finally, we got our cultural heritage back.

The Triads were the ones that didn't. Rich, arrogant, and unprincipled, they extorted money from everybody and didn't care about what happened to anyone that they'd already robbed blind. They ran the whorehouses, the opium dens, the dockyards, and - most critically, the casinos.

Strangely enough, they also were hotbeds of Chinese patriotism and racist attitudes towards the Japanese. They funded local KMT chapters with the money they made in casinos. The boss wanted them to be taught a lesson.

So the driver executed a swift right turn in his beaten-up little generic Russian import car. Thing was, there was no lane. Only the front entrance of a slightly skeevy casino. Immediately, gunfire rang out as the driver crashed through the front doors, smacking several Triad gunmen and a few surprised patrons. As he gunned the engine and headed for the centre of the crowded lobby, the masses of patrons - usually so refined - began to panic.

Damn right.

The driver heard another chain of gunshots and felt something impact his chest. It hurt. A lot.

It also didn't matter.

The window had been shattered by the last gunshot and the corpse of one of the people he'd hit during the drive in, so that made the next bit easier.

"Long live the Black Dragon Society!", the driver shouted, blasting out smoky air from dying lungs.

The driver pressed a button.

Fifty pounds of explosives hidden in the car's trunk went off at once.

And back at his office where he worked as an honest upper-level businessman in China's commercial heart, Hitoshi Saito heard the blast from the distance and knew that the first stage of his game had at last played out. Shanghai would soon become quite the fun place to be.
