Economics
The Neo Roman ideology of Sonacism takes a statist, leftist-nationalistic, progressive, secular, and proletarian stance on issues. It holds a mix of a centrally planned and market economy. The state has a strong hand in regulating, intervening, planning and directing the economy. There is the nationalization of key industries, there are the regular private industries and many business cooperatives. The cooperatives are usually established when breaking up a private monopoly, or when a private corporation is guilty of corrupt practices and/or mistreatment of it's workers. The state then helps to reconvert the monopoly or business for the formerly exploited workers as a cooperative(s). There is a law of co-determination for all companies. Worker representatives must be allowed to hold seats on the boards of all companies employing over 500 people.
The Sonacists believe that what best advances a nation are traditions based on pragmatism, realism, technology, and rational thought. Hence, they support progressivism and rationalism. Believing that advances in science, technology, economic development, and social organization can improve the human condition.
Religion in the Government
The Sonacists therefore reject religion holding an important role in society, since it is not considered to be based on progressive ideals. Therefore, the Sonacists are Anti-Theocratic, believing theocracy to be a barbaric plague on civilization, that must be prevented at all costs.
Anti-Traditionalism
Sonacism also rejects traditionalism, seeing the blind following of cultural traditions to be counterproductive and leads to the nation being held back from advancing. The Sonacists believe that tradition only becomes a tradition if it is a useful tool to the needs of society. Therefore, when traditions become a nuisance, they must be discarded and replaced with practical and more rational traditions, that are able to meet the current needs of an advancing society.
Anti-Racialism
The Sonacists reject racialism, believing that race is not an important factor in a good society, but that a culture is. They believe in the supremacy of a progressive and rational based culture. Therefore, the Sonacists believe in progressive imperialism; to spread enlightenment and advances to barbaric, plutocratic, and superstitious cultures. Supporting militarism to this end. The blind following of tradition also makes them reject conservatism, viewing conservatism as a blind following of traditions and too keen on holding the status quo. Even when change is necessary. Sonacism is a form of Left-wing nationalism.
Foreign Policy
Though imperialism is rarely utilized, Sonacists prefer not to get too involved in world affairs, and prefer to focus domestically. Usually taking over nations deemed too dangerous and unstable to be allowed to grow and be left alone. The ideology also adhers to economic nationalism, believing that if a nation is to stay strong, it must be able to rely on itself sufficiently.
Anti-Communism
Sonacism is anti-communist, while it sympathizes with communism's proletarianism, it rejects communists internationalism, believing that nationalism plays a central role in strengthening a culture, and that if a nation represents an advanced culture and great ideal, the nation's central role and importance should be recognized.
It also rejects communism's abolishment of all private property. Believing a market sector benefits the advance of a nation, and that without any sort of market, a nation will decay. It rejects Communism's dream of a stateless society. Believing that inequality can be reduced, and to that it should be reduced as much as possible in society. A government is necessary for social order and the function of society. The Sonacists also advocate social justice.
Anti-Democracy
The ideology rejects many forms of democracy such as liberal democracy (or western democracy) and direct democracy. They believe that democracy is inefficient in running a nation, due to partisan bickering and the election of people based on popularity, instead of talent. As well as, the wealthier classes and groups holding larger influence and sway in a democracy. A one party state is necessary for efficiency, and that government officials should be picked based on a system of merit and honest adherence to Sonacist principals.
