Imperial Air Transport "Helux",
Skies over Aigéantir.

Valhyldra checked her watch nervously. Her first extra-regional visit - and the first ever made by any Kolinthanese monarch. She was eager to impress.
As she watched the silvery urban landscape pass below, she thought about the sheer scale and majesty of nations such as this. The entirety of Escar - the region she had called home all her life - barely even held a candle to size of it all.

The plane touched down. She admired the graceful, ultra-modern architecture of the airport. It too, was of a scale she rarely saw. Lockbourne had been a sight to behold when she had made her visit there, as had New Horizon, but as was always the case, the extra-regional powers could afford just that bit more.
But she had no more time for admiration. She was a woman with a mission. Kolintha would secure it's place within the Monarchist Federation. Allies were a must in this dangerous world, and she would be the one to make them.

She grinned to herself as she descended the steps onto the runway. A long conference lay ahead, and the young Empress did not wish to be left out of the proceedings.

OOC Note: My MT nation is called Stormwrath–Palmaria, and in that canon our head of state is Empress Camille.

Head of Government Air Transport "Praefectus"
A few miles from Artio Intl. Airport, Aigeantir

Stormwrath–Palmaria, otherwise known as the Stormwratho–Palmarian Empire, had sent a short but confident representative, a Munisca of 5' 3" named Carol Salceto. The Empress Camille had picked her personally, even letting providing the Praefectus as her aerial transport. As the aircraft flew over the skies of Aigéantir, she looked down at the sprawling city, evident of this nation's prosperity. While she did enjoy the view, she had to focus on securing Stormwrath–Palmaria's place in the Monarchist Federation, as it was seen as important for the Stormwrathians.

As the Praefectus landed on the runway and taxied its way to the terminal, she took a glimpse of the airport's architecture. Surely it would remind her of the new airport being under construction in Lunita City. The plane stopped, and she then stood up and got her briefcase, which contained her documents and her tablet. As she entered the terminal, Carol was receiving a phone call from the Prime Minister, Joseph Mainfelinus.

"Salutations, Prime Minister. I have arrived at Artio International, ready for the summit."

"Ah, it's nice to hear from you, Miss Salceto. I trust that our nation will be represented best through your presence at this summit."

"Yes, your trust is secure. The conference is going to be mostly attended by the heads of state representing their respective countries."

"Don't let that distract you. This is why Empress Camille has appointed you."

"I understand."

"Good. I will be calling again when the conference is over."

"Understood. At my estimate, it may end close to sunset."

"Alright. Thanks for the information. Godspeed."

"Likewise Prime Minister."

As soon as she got her luggage, she immediately proceeded to the outside of the airport and waited for a few moments. She wasn't sure if this summit would last only a day, so she had brought her suitcase in case she had to stay at a hotel room (which she already had booked). A taxi had arrived in front of her, and the driver exited the vehicle and then proceeded to put her luggage in the trunk. Carol said to the driver, "________ Hotel please.*"

The driver smiled and replied, "Sure thing, will be heading there in a jiffy."

She entered the taxi and the driver got into his seat. He then proceeded to drive to the hotel that she was to stay in. If the summit was to last one day only, it would be a good thing for her, as she can spend a free day in Aigéantir. If not, it would be also good since she came prepared.

*Aigéantir, you can name the hotel if you like. It's your country after all.

Storm's Watch Castle,
Bel,
Kingdom of Aigéantir

High King Conchobar II had just finished off a meeting with his fellow monarchs, when an assistant approached him, reminding him of what he already knew. That the Monarchist Federation Summit would be taking place at the Red Branch Pavilion, and his presence was needed. It seemed like there was hardly any time to stop and take a break, but Conchobar was not the kind of king to hate work. In fact, he enjoyed staying busy, and he enjoyed state visits moreso. Probably the only one who was better at these meet-and-greets was King Tristan III, from the island of Lir, and one of the other monarchs under his leadership. For centuries the establishment of a ruling king had kept the fighting monarchs from war, and the country still held firmly on to this tradition even after moving towards a much more democratic viewpoint.

The monarchs could be elected, and in fact the High King himself was elected from the ruling monarchs, but enough checks and balances existed in the system to keep the monarchs from abusing their role. Their path was to lead and inspire, not force a specific opinion. Yes, they had enough power to sway opinion in the interest of the realm, but it was sometimes difficult to determine where actions for the good of the realm, and decisions made without the consent of the people began and ended. Conchobar had made great strides to ensure his reign was one of accountability and free from scandal, yet the media still tried to find a way to attack his character if they couldn't attack his politics. He hoped this Summit would take his mind off of this, and may even encourage a sense of pride among the citizens of Aigéantir with the world watching and viewing the often missed beauty of this archipelago nation.

As Conchobar reached the car, he was informed that the suburbans had already been sent to pick up the guests from the Monarchist Federation nations and would be dropping them off at the Plains of Bel Inn, one of the more upscale hotels in Bel, and within easy reach of several upscale restaurants, coffee shops, and transportation to Dovenn City, the old capital of the Kingdom of Aigéantir, and a much larger and historical city. The car took him straight to the Red Branch Pavilion, so he could get to work and welcome his guests to his nation. He would not be alone, the other monarchs, King Tristan III, Queen Andraste II, King Conall VI, and King Belenus III would all be there to ensure that the summit representatives were well taken care of.

The Feng Emperor

Captain Aeron McFarland stood with an honour guard of a dozen Royal Aigéantir Military Force soldiers at his back, watching the Feng Emperor's plane touch down, taxi, and come to a stop on the tarmac. Yan looked tired, and Captain McFarland immediately moved forward to greet the Feng Emperor and assist in moving his belongings into the black suburban, waiting nearby. There were several additional SUVs, that would travel in front and behind the dignitary's vehicle to carry the extra staff and soldiers, and to confuse any would-be attackers, not that any attack was expected, but with recent events, no one was taking any chances.

"On behalf of the Kingdom of Aigéantir, I welcome you most honorable Emperor of Feng." Captain McFarland said in what he hoped was passable Feng dialect. "My men can assist you with your things, if you would follow me, I will ensure your needs are taken care of during this summit," He said cheerfully.

Empress Valhyldra

Major Neilina Ruskin watched as the Empress Valhyldra exited her plane. Behind her she heard a few whispered comments from some of the soldiers. While she could barely hear what they were saying she had a feeling she knew it was likely some leering from her soldiers. Typical men, she thought, if it's female and on two legs, they'll have a comment or two. She herself had experienced this throughout her military career, first as a recruit, and then after making officer. She glanced back a scowl crossing her face, which quickly quieted the commentators.

Stepping forward, she spoke to the young woman, "Welcome to the Kingdom of Aigéantir, on behalf of the royal families, and the government, I hope you enjoy your time here. I'll have someone assist you with your belongings if you follow me to the Suburban."

Carol Salcetor

Captain Maura McNee and her entourage realized too late that Carol Salcetor had already left the airport before they had a chance to intercept her. She ordered her entourage to return to the vehicles, hoping to pick up the trail at the Plains of Bel Inn, as part of her job during the summit would be to ensure that her representative that she was to look after was well taken care of. She wouldn't shirk from her duties even if there had been a mix up from the start. She called the hotel, asking them to relay a message to Carol Salcetor when she arrived, that Captain Maura McNee was sorry for the mix up, and would be there to assist her in whatever she needed throughout the summit. However, she already knew that they would likely be arriving right behind their guest, and hopefully would be there when Carol checked in, but it didn't hurt to be sure in case they hit some serious traffic on the way in to Bel. She gave the front desk her contact information in case they were delayed again, and hoped they'd arrive in time to assist Ms. Salcetor.

The new Emperor of Derita was in a sour mood. While he had not yet been crowned Emperor of Derita, among other places, he was the Emperor the moment his father died. Now barely a month after the tragic end of Emperor Almahn the Conqueror, his son, Emperor Christopher II was in one of his many private jets going to a international summit that the 28 year old, soon to be 29, was anxious to get it over with. Christopher was dressed in a gold and light blue uniform, with a shoulder and waist slash on, both threaded gold to show off his and his nation's extreme wealth. That was one then that brought a smile to Christopher's face, he was only 50 billion Dérrals away from becoming the richest man in history, which he would reach in about a month.

As for the summit Christopher had mixed feelings about it. He had always believed in a isolated Derita, a Derita not involved with other's petty problems, but in the last 4 years, despite the suppose isolation policy's created, Derita had in fact become more engrossed into international affairs. Emperor Almahn had even gone as far to create a section for such things. Christopher disliked that, however he cared more about appearances. That is why he was dressed in the traditional flamboyant manner as he was, his Imperial Guards dressed similarly, both for action and for show.

He admired the airport as he descended, he loved architecture and had a masters in the art. He found it very beautiful, perhaps he would build one in Derita, but better of course, yet he doubted it. It would look strange and ugly against the graceful and beautiful and clearly superior architecture.

As the private jet touched down at the airport the Emperor and his Elite Guard paraded slowly and formally down the short steps down to the ground, Christopher's blue and golden cap flapping slightly in breeze. He and his eight guards entered the building, creating an air of wealth, power and regality. Christopher was amazing that way, his simple presence forced people to respect him, to love him. He walked with an air of complete superiority, yet kind but aloof. He would show Derita's Grace and power and his own. But on the inside he was extremely bored, he could wait for the conference to begin and to be over.

The Empress gave a smart little salute to the Major and her men; partially out of respect, and partially out of habit. Military men and women were highly regarded back home.
"Thank you." She said, "I am more than capable of handling my own belongings, but you are kind to offer. And forgive me for asking, but for how long will this summit last? My advisers have prepared me for a two day outing, just in case. That matter aside, lead the way Ma'am."

As the young monarch followed the Major inside she gave a wink to the soldiers. Men were simple critters.

With all these grand events, crises & wars happening everywhere (not to mention the ever-present plague of assassinations), ambassador Cael Arcan had really learnt to appreciate the small mercies. He came to this conclusion as he finished his second cocktail, reclining back on his seat in the government chartered plane. he might never know when he will get another cocktail, he reminded himself sagely, as the waiter poured a glass of chianti to accompany the braised escalope of veal.

These were hard times indeed, he mused.

However, for all his appearance, the noble was only mildly hypocritical. It wouldn't be much fun otherwise. And fun was paramount at these things; In Cael's experience summits were rarely the exhilarating of events, even for a diplomat. All too soon such frivolities ended, and the plane landed. Cael sailed through to the conference room. However, for all his outward, beaming demeanour, he was a little apprehensive. For he was the physical embodiment of a diplomatic snub. For out all of the delegates at the summit, the Valaran had alone decided not to send its actual Emperor. If that wasn't enough, Edric was busy entertaining Princess Alexia of Ghant, a leading member of SACTO. And somehow Cael was meant to smooth this all over with a wave of his hand. It wasn't exactly an enviable prospect.

The plane arrived, and Cael waited for his bodyguard to open the door. The man did so silently, his gaze impassive behind his steel mask and his heavy sabre at his side. The Empire still liked to show off, even for an event it pointedly cared little for. Cael got out, and waited for his welcome.

Artio International Airport,
Anu,
Kingdom of Aigéantir

The Prime Minister's plane, an RAAF Airbus A310, known as Aigéantir One, touched down at the airport, as the fighter escort peeled away for their own landings, before refueling and heading back to base. This week had been nothing short of crazy, with the IFC Summit wrapping up, and a sudden attack against IFC members, Prime Minister Kirsteen Ahearn found herself going from special guest at the IFC Summit, to possible Peace Brigade target, to leader of a hosting nation for another Summit, and she still hadn't gotten around to reviewing her students' theses. She had tried to deal with it on the trip back, but couldn't with everything going on, her nation in lock-down. Thankfully, the country had not experienced any terrorist attacks as their allies had, and the imposed emergency measures had been lifted in time for this Summit. Now, as the plane taxied to a private location for disembarkation, she smiled happily at the various markings and models of the different heads of state that were now visiting her nation.

She and her staff descended the stairs, greeted by one of the honour guards, who expressed their joy of seeing her arrive safely home. She thanked them, and dismissed them, having more than enough help and headache from her own staff, security, and the press entourage that accompanied her on the trip back. Getting into the waiting limo, she was greeted by the Speaker of the House of Lords, Muriel Keefe, who wanted to update her on the situation, and how she would assist with this Summit. Though she wanted to help, she asked Muriel just for a second to take in the sights. After her harrowing return trip, she had started to fear what dangers and disaster was in store for her and her people when she returned, but was happy to see the old streets of Artio teeming with people, many were tourists here to experience an almost European Culture, as far from Europe as one could get. Fruit stalls and vendors hawked their wares on the streets, while amateur amateur musicians played upbeat jigs and somber dirges here and there. Even the smell wood stoves, hot apple cider, and hot chocolate, the smells of winter, stirred her heart with contentment. It was good to be home.

They drove on to the capital, where rivers and streams gave way to much more higher terrain. Bel itself was built on a higher plain, an old city in it's own right, but only the head of the government of all the isles more recently. Due to it's location, the city was much more smaller in scale, with more green space and room to grow. An excellent spot for visitors interested in "Old Aigéantir", but the true sights, the historically important places, the nightlife, the high society, was found in Dovenn City to the Southeast.

She hoped she'd arrive in time to assist her Kings and Queen.

Emperor Christopher II

Captain Gwyneira Evans watched as Emperor Christopher II and his entourage exited the plane. While many of her brothers and sisters in arms were performing the job of escorting their foreign dignitaries around with pride, she had always been a little more introverted, and right now she was a nervous wreck on the inside. For Gwyneira, she hated standing in front of others and speaking, but worse still was the apprehension she got when talking with those who were of a "higher class" and that included foreign dignitaries, especially young, handsome ones!

For what seemed much longer than a minute, she watched the young emperor, frozen in nervousness. Her second in command, often her rock in times like this leaned forward, and whispered into her ear, "you'd best step forward". Gwyneira couldn't, until she felt the woman lightly push her, and Gwyneira's body seemed to take over, as she willed herself to approach the man.

She gave a bashful salute, and spoke to her dignitary, trying not to look into his eyes. "Emperor Christopher II, I'm Captain Aigéantir Evans and I'd like to welcome you to Kingdom of Gwyneira.... uhhh.... I mean..." She started turning red with embarrassment, but found the composure to correct herself. "I'm Captain Gwyneira Evans... and ... welcome to the Kingdom of Aigéantir on behalf ... of ... us all... and the High King." She couldn't look at his face, and it was hard not to turn around right then and walk away in embarrassment. "Uhh, right this way please," she motioned to the nearest black suburban. Her second in command had already stepped forward to assist the emperor's guard with the emperor's belongings.

Empress Valhyldra

"It's expected to be about two days at the most, though I'm sure you will have plenty of spare time as well. I've been assigned to provide you with whatever you might require, so don't hesitate to ask." Major Neilina Ruskin replied. They entered the vehicle, once everyone was aboard, they headed off for Bel, a 3 hour drive from the airport.

Cael Arcan

Colonel Daragh O'Clery walked up to ambassador Cael Arcan, impressed by the man's presentation, but giving no hint of emotion. He was a trained officer, often considered a real hard-ass by some of the recruits, and his fellow officers, but he preferred discipline, and would not compromise his training to be like the more "inferior" officers he felt had become the norm in the military. He gave a crisp salute to the ambassador. "Sir, I am Colonel Daragh O'Clery. Welcome to the Kingdom of Aigéantir on behalf of myself, the High King, and the monarchs from the Four Kingdoms of Bran's Land, I'd like to welcome you. I have been instructed to assist you and provide you with anything you might require while attending this Summit, please do not hesitate to ask. If you will follow me, we will escort you to the capital."

Christopher the Second gave a bright sunny smile to the captain, silently laughing on the inside at her embarrassment, not in a way of malice but out of genuine humor. Christopher normally had that effect on people, making them nervous and uneasy, but he had yet to even say anything and Captain ,Gwyneria was it, was already blushing and such. That was a new achievement.

Christopher had never thought much about his looks, though he was incredibly handsome, tall and with soft mocha colored skin from his African roots through his father and with strangely blond hair, but it still worked for him, from his Caucasian mother, but he was a Deritain and all Deritains were beautiful. Hundreds of years and generations of selective breeding, only the most handsome men and beautiful woman having children, had made the nation full of gorgeous people. They were known across the world for it, but Christopher had never thought much about it. He preferred to believe he made a mark with his intellect, not his dashing good looks.

" Bonjour Mademoiselle, Ce est un plaisir d'être ici et de vous rencontrer. It is a pleasure to be here and to meet you."

Christopher switched from his native language of French to English, his accent slightly Hyrukian (British) as he smoothly put the words together. While Christopher was bored and not at his happiest, there was no reason for these people to know that, he came off happy and polite, he was a stickler for formalities. The young Emperor followed the Captain and her peers, impressed by the fact that a woman lead the. In Derita, though there were no political nor legal thing stopping them, few woman reached out for careers other than a house wife, those who did were extremely successful.

The Imperial Class Guards gave the luggage to the Aigéantirans, showing no emotion at all. Quietly they spoke to each other in Droitenque, a elite Deritain dialect of French unheard of outside of the nation, used by those few who could speak it to speak in private. But they had to speak quietly for Christopher himself was a master at the secretive language, the Emperor was the only one thing the guards truly feared.

(In Droitenque)"Look at the captain, blushing like some school girl in front of the Emperor. I shall be surprised if he does make her faint next when he speaks."

"Hush you, your whispers may reach His Imperial Majesty's ears."

"Yes Commander, but you must admit, His Imperial Majesty is a impressive man, both with his aura and his words. I bet you 10 Dérrals he will shock someone on this summit."

"We shall see."

With that the short secret conversation ended. It was in Deritain culture natural to gossip, even over such petty things. But the Imperial Guards were still the best guards there were and followed suit. But even more cunning than the quiet guards was Christopher, over hearing the conversation yet pretending not to perfectly. He would no doubt surprise someone in some way, he always did. Perhaps this summit would be so boring, though boring none the less. The young man turned his attention to the cityscape, beautiful, he liked it much better than the airport, it was far more Deritain in nation, though looked poorer and less... elite. But still like. Christopher took a last quick glance and stepped into the car.

Emperor Christopher II

Captain Gwyneira Evans was struck by the Emperor's words, pulling her out of her bashful state. "Oh... vous parlez français ? Je ai appris à parler français tout en étudiant à l'étranger. Je suis ici pour vous aider lors du Summit si il ya quelque chose dont vous avez besoin , faites le moi savoir." She followed the Emperor into the black Suburban, and the motorcade began moving as soon as everyone is aboard. By this time Gwyneira's timidness had returned, so she thought she'd excuse her actions as best she could. "I apologize for earlier. I have a tendency to get nervous around important people. Our country still puts a lot of respect on our hierarchy, especially our rulers." She wiped her sweaty palms into the skirt of the dress uniform she wore, pulling slightly on the skirt, readjusting it, ensuring that the edge came down just past her knees as per dress regulations. Gaining some composure she looked into the Emperor's eyes for the first time since he landed. "I will assist however I can, and I will do my best to prevent my nervousness from getting in the way." She flicked a lock of red hair out of her eyes, wondering why she hadn't tied it back, under her beret.

Emperor Feng

Captain Aeron McFarland didn't know what to think of his extravagant guest. The Feng Emperor certainly knew how to make an entrance! Regardless of the Emperor's perceptions, Captain McFarland was ordered to assist the Feng Emperor in whatever he required, and if that meant assisting the Emperor in a night on the town he'd gladly help the man. Aigéantirans were known for loyalty, military might, and drinking, and he was sure that he'd drink the Feng Emperor under the table if that's what the man had in mind. However, though Aeron had hoped this might be the reason for his summons, something told Aeron that this would be more about business than pleasure.

He came within the hour, knocking on the door before meeting again with Yan. "Sir," he said as he announced his presence to the Feng Emperor.

Emperor Christopher yawned from boredom. The Captain had been able to collect herself rather quickly compared to some others. There used to be a time when Deritains would have been shocked to hear someone from another nation speak french, but now it was a common thing, in fact expected. However the Emperor of Derita was far more concerned on why he was not in a limousine like a proper leader should be. He would speak about this to who every was in charge, or more likely he would order someone to talk to who ever was in charge of vehicles. Christopher's tone changed very slightly, still polite, but with enough undertone to be commanding.

" I am very important. I would expect nothing less Captain, and I shall be most disappointed if I do receive less or your timid mind proves problem some."

Christopher went back to admiring the city as they drove through it, noting the arches and scaffolds with his near-photographic memory. They rode in complete and total silence, Christopher believed in that those ranked below him should speak when spoken to unless told prior otherwise. One thought did come up in his mind of why would anyone put Gwyneira in charge of escorting Christopher, the powerful Emperor of Derita, if she was nervous around such people. It was idiotic in his opinion, but on the outside he was happy and smiling.

At arriving at the hotel the Imperial Guards opened the door for Emperor Christopher and took his bags upstairs to his suite.

Plains of Bel Inn, Bel, Kingdom of Aigéantir

The taxi had arrived at the hotel, and Carol thanked the taxi driver. He unloaded the trunk and gave the suitcase to her, before tipping his hat and returning to the car. The ambassador was now thinking that there should've been special envoys sent in by the government, but she shrugged that off. She entered the hotel and checked in, in which the receptionist informed her of the government envoys coming to assist her. Carol then responded, "Well if that is a valid reason, then I will let that slide for now. Room 34 please."

Carol was led to her room, which had a scenic view. She always liked nature to surround most of her view, which is why she'd rarely choose hotels deep within the city. She put down her suitcase and then went over to the balcony of her hotel room to look at the rest of Bel from here. Indeed this was a prosperous country. Suddenly, she heard a knock on her door. Wondering who must have found her room this soon, she walked over to the door and opened it, and on the other side was Captain Maura McNee, who came by with a couple of people.

Not knowing who these people are, she said to them, "Hello. Ummm, what brings you here?"

Feng Emperor

Captain McFarland tasted the drink. It was an unusually named beverage, that was for sure! It had a pleasant taste, in a way that only a foreign drink could. "This is quite nice. It reminds me of some of the wines from the Danu Valleys. You'll have to try some while here, my lord." Taking another sip, he inquired, "how might I serve you, my lord?"

Carol Salcetor

"Hi, I'm sorry for the mix up, and I hope your trip was uneventful, I'm Captain Maura McNee, and on behalf of my government, and my people, I welcome you to the Kingdom of Aigéantir. I've been assigned to assist you with anything you might require while taking part in the Summit, so let me know if there's anything I can do for you. I realize that you've had a long trip, and are in the middle of settling in, so I will give you my card, and don't hesitate to contact me if you should need anything." Maura smiled, excusing herself, to allow the Stormwrath–Palmaria representative to settle in.

"Oh, thank you for informing me. I will just call you when I need something", replied the Stormwratho–Palmarian. Once Captain McNee left, she closed the door. Now, she should be putting in her suitcase in the closet in the room and getting ready to bathe. After all, she came to the country in a rather casual looking outfit, with the leather jacket and denim jeans. Hardly would she be recognized as the ambassador of Stormwrath–Palmaria. She took two towels, closed the door and curtains, and entered the bathroom. After taking off her clothes, she then let the tub fill with a mixture of hot and cold water before entering.

She had arrived relatively early in the country, and hoped that she can enjoy a long bath and still remain on time before the summit can begin. Carol enjoys long baths, usually from thirty to forty-five minutes at a time. The aroma in particular, was indeed sweet smelling, the kind that can make her relax.

Siari-class VTOL transport ship Unyielding Endurence,, Taigawanese Imperial Palace, Cheng Yíån

"And why are you going to the conference with them mother?"

"I am going to ally with them Shiala. A covenant of our international brothers and sisters is worth trying for." She said as she entered the transport as with her honor guards, a small division of the Imperial Army tasked with her protection. The windows of the craft were black-tinted and the craft was heavily armored, which was then also painted black. Four very similar VTOL craft were nearby that would serve as decoy craft in case someone in Taigawa was stupid enough to try to assassinate the empress.

The craft took off and by the time they'd got there, it was late afternoon. The empress put on the ceremonial gold and red robes and the platnum crown she wore on state visits, and then she stepped off the craft with a few honor guards and waited to be greeted by airport security.

Taigawa Empress

Colonel Douglas Lindsay watched as the VTOL craft landed, with his honour guard behind him, he stepped forward, saluting the Taigawan Empress. "My liege, I'm Colonel Douglas Lindsay, and on behalf of the High King, monarchs, and people, I'd like to welcome you to the Kingdom of Aigéantir. If you follow me, I have a vehicle waiting for you, and I am available to provide you with anything you might need while here for the Summit." He motioned towards the convoy of black suburbans as an indication for the Empress to accompany him to the waiting vehicles. Glancing at his guards, he smiled, seeing that they had already fallen into line, or had begun assisting with carrying the Empress's belongings.

"Thank you, Colonel," she said as she entered the indicated vehicle, moving her tail out of the way so that the door would not be shut on it. She had but one more question for him: "What of my honor guards? will they be joining the security forces at the conference building or do they stay with my aircraft?" Not that security was her concern, she just had a question she wanted answered.

"Your guards will be able to accompany you, there's enough room in this vehicle and the other vehicle for all of them," Colonel Lindsay replied.
He followed her into the black Suburban, and sat there in silence, allowing this foreign leader the opportunity to converse or avoid conversation with a man of his class during the ride to Bel. He knew that some foreign leaders did not appreciate small talk, so he preferred to allow his guest to determine how much interaction they could afford with the commoners.

"So....You seem...quiet, withdrawn. May I ask why?" She said with a calm voice, tinged with a bit of curiousity. She was certain the soldier who sat with her was as educated about their culture as she was of theirs. Of course that was just her mind trying to come up with a gentler generalization then "Ignorent," as she did not want to offend him. Still; it was worth a try.

As she stepped out of the car, the Empress gawked at the buildings. They were beautiful in their own classy way. It was a style of architecture that was rarely appreciated in this day and age, what with the overabundance of skyscrapers and modernist cubes. Not that modern architecture was bad, it was just common.

"I take it this hotel is where I shall be staying? My thanks to the driver and yourself, Major. I am quite sure I can manage from here. I will be sure to give you a call if I require anything." Said the Empress, before waving goodbye and walking into the hotel. She hoped the Summit would start soon. Valhyldra had never been patient, nor good with small talk. The drive had been a bitterly awkward three hours, and she was eager to get stuck into a debate or something else interesting.

Cael took one look the colonel before moving on, his face deadpan. What an absurdly long welcome. "Thankful Colonel O'Clery, its a pleasure to be here. Sure, you're calling the shots here." All of this was said without breaking stride. He liked to save time when he could.

Once in he car, Cael went straight to business. There wouldn't be a point otherwise. "So colonel, whats the schedule here? Do I meet up with the foreign leaders now? Or does that all come in due time?"

Queen Vilma II was escorted out of the car, and had finally made it to the Red Branch Pavilion. She thought it was quite nice, and it reminded her a bit of the cities in Wolfbenz. The queen had never attended any formal conferences, mainly because her position was merely symbolic, which was understandable to her.

Her Majesty was escorted into the building by two burly men.

"Even though it's only a short walk to the building, their still escorting me in," She thought, "Its sad to think that some guy could be on the top of a building aiming a sniper rifle at my head if I wasn't protected. I wouldn't put it past anyone to do the deed these days.

Vilma walked into the building, checking in and receiving her room key. She turned to her guards.

"You are dismissed."

The men bowed curtly to their monarch, then proceeded to walk back to the vehicle to get her luggage.

She sauntered up to her room. It wasn't the royal palace back home, but it was luxurious enough for her. She then made herself tea and waited for someone to guide her to the conference room, as she had no idea how this stuff worked.

Taigawa Empress

"My apologies, as soldiers we tend to refrain from speaking unless asked to speak. While our own people enjoy a much more lenient interaction with our own monarchs, we try not to forget that other nations may not have such a democratic way of running their nation, and therefore we attempt to maintain a minimum level of required discussion, unless otherwise instructed," Colonel Lindsay replied. "I ahh... mean no offense at all by suggesting that your nation may not think so highly of their subjects," he blushed, feeling that he might have insulted his charge.

Feng Emperor

Captain McFarland was shocked, and didn't know how to reply. As part of his duties, he was supposed to assist the Yan, the Feng Emperor with whatever he needed, and he had expected every and any unusual... personal needs that the foreigners might require. Booze, drugs, women or men, he had expected it all, but not necessarily an arranged marriage proposal. Even worse, he wasn't even a lord, yet the Emperor seemed a little tipsy, and may not know the difference. He regained his composure, aware that his mouth was probably hanging open. "I am... flattered by your offer, my liege, but I'm far from being a lord. I'm not sure if your uncle or his daughter would... appreciate a marriage to a man lower in station.... perhaps this is something you might wish to ask one of my highness'... an arrangement between their relatives and yours would be of a more equal standing for both parties."

Cael Arcan

Colonel O'Cleary was glad the man seemed as professional as he looked. "Sir, we will get you to the hotel, which is right beside the Red Branch Pavilion. The other leaders are still arriving now, however I understand that the High King and Prime Minister are planning on holding an informal Meet and Greet within the conference room until the Summit is convened if you should desire to attend this event." The Colonel was happy that he could be of assistance.

Queen Vilma II

Colonel Breaine Conwae had been through several wars, seen some of the most terrible atrocities committed against her own troops, and on the citizens and soldiers of other countries, yet here she was feeling apprehensive. She was never one to enjoy pomp and ceremony, having often earned a name for herself as a down-to-earth commander, and someone whom had the implicit loyalty of her troops. Of course this was something she had to learn the hard way, being thrown into the role as part of a battlefield promotion. Now as she approached Queen Vilma II, she couldn't help but yearn for the comfort of a mess hall instead of the more upscale buildings of the capital. "My lady, sorry to keep you waiting, I am Colonel Breaine Conwae, and I have been assigned to assist you during your time here. I will extend a welcome on behalf of my country, my monarchs, and the High King, but if you follow me to the conference centre, the High King himself can personally extend his own greetings. There is a meet and greet taking place at the moment, but attendance is optional. If you would prefer to retire to your suite at the Plains of Bel Inn, my liege will understand."

"I cannot blame you for not knowing what other leader are tolerent of. However, that is why I and other such powerful people are coming. Know that I do not take an offence to us being...exotic. I'm quite sure you never saw a country litterly ruled by cats." She said as she pulled out a scroll written in a script readable only to her. "And part of why I reopened our borders again is to see other leaders and to understand them."

"Pleased to meet you," Vilma spoke, taken by surprise by the Colonel's appearance. "I've never done a thing such as this, and I'd be happy to follow you to this meet and greet."

She finished up the last few sips of her tea, and proceeded to follow her out to the meet and greet in the conference center. "Now she's very nice and quiet person," the queen thought, "I'm hoping there won't be very many loud and boisterous monarchs here. I hope there's an extremely high amount of dignity at this conference."
