My religion is a bit apocalyptic at times, and one of the ideas is that a powerful intelligence will manifest on Earth within our children's lifetimes and we will be judged by how we treated one another. Unfortunately, our revelatory scriptures are not clear on whether we will be judged as a species together (some interpretations indicate this) or each will be judged separately. We don't know.

Some believe a percentage will be saved, and of course there is endless discussion about who will be saved and why.

If you were a God over some creation of yours, and it had become wicked and corrupt (they were harming and killing one another, torture, rape, cannibalism, payday loan check cashing outlets, holocausts, etc) and you decided to wipe it out and start again, what percentage of humanity would you preserve?

And in your post, if you want to explain what your "do not Apocalypse" wrist band criteria are, that'd be cool, too.

For me, I'd save everybody. I'd isolate the ones that were shitty to people, but I'd save as many as I can. They have minds. Maybe they can learn.

I'd spare everyone and just send a series of prophets to teach the masses. I would also remove the evil from power, "the evil" being, in this case, mass murderers who operate as part of a government or military group. I don't like killing. Of any kind. I would do all in my power to avoid it. I said nothing, however, about what those people's lives would be like. I'd leave them to their people, to be punished as they will.

In the present context, that's a reasonable sentiment, I'm not disagreeing with it, but the idea is, would you spare them the global disruption, not whether you would grant them all some eternal life (although that's an interesting spinoff).

So when I said "spare", it didn't mean "spare them from all death ever", it just meant "spare them from the Big Wrathy Thing".
