Co-Op: Breitenfeld-Sibbesborg
Washington, D.C. December, 2016. Much has changed about the city, much like cities across the globe. The city was quiet, with nothing left living to make sound. Only the sound of wind echoed through the streets. The once-tall buildings were crumbled and left to waste, slowly being reclaimed by nature. The rubble crushed the cars, parked in wait for their dead owners to return. The scene in D.C. was just the same in New York City, Los Angeles, Moscow, Beijing, and all of the other major cities of Earth. It seemed that the world was devoid of life, waiting for nature to take back her righteous place at the throne.
The world had been stricken by the most aggressive virus ever seen by scientists. Dubbed "Hades," by enthusiastic scientists, the virus spread like wildfire, leaving only death in its wake. The virus affected all nations, no matter location. Hundreds of millions were dead within the first two weeks. As the piles of bodies were burnt in the streets, the United Nations made a decision. Thus began the Settlements. Hades seemed to be unable to spread on the Antarctic Continent. The united governments of China, Russia, Norway, Great Britain, and the United States, began the construction of settlements deep in Queen Maud Land, Antarctica. The settlements were build underground, and were put under the control of the Unified Antarctic Settlement Organisation (UASO). The Organisation was a success, bringing thousands of people to six settlements, leading from the Ramsay Permanent Settlement. Things in Antarctica were going well for the settlers, at least, until the howling began.
Ramsay is located in what was previously called Queen Maud Land, Antarctica. Now, the area on which the six settlements are built is known as the Antarctic Free Zone. The settlement is almost entirely subterranean, the exception being the large Ramsay Bio-Dome, where organic food is grown for the settlers. Ramsay, like the other settlements, was built deep into the thick ice, and is powered completely by wind and solar energy. The settlers live in homes much like luxury apartments; modern and stylish, yet spacious enough for a full family unit. The settlement includes full primary and secondary education, and accommodates people from many different cultures. Ramsay is occupied by primarily American, English, Russian, and Norwegian settlers, however several other nations are represented.
A strange howling has been heard from the sub-basement at the New Moscow Settlement, merely twenty miles from the Ramsay Permanent Settlement. Now, radio transmissions from New Moscow have stopped, causing the leaders of Ramsay to worry. This RP will focus on residents of Ramsay, who will be directly affected by the troubles at New Moscow. Will these settlers band together to find out what happened to New Moscow, or will they cower in the face of adversity, and fall prey to the mysteries of the ice?
As OP, I will RP as a settler as well. I want the RP to move naturally, so characters will be left on their own to make decisions about their actions. They will decide whether or not to band together, or whether or not to travel to New Moscow. The only special thing about my posting will be that I will include environmental changes, as well as new developments from New Moscow (should the Ramsay settlers take interest).
